This volume is quite funny, with Yu and Mika doing a lot of adorable old-married-couple bickering and Crowley rolling with Ferid’s chaotic nature mainly to kill the boredom of eternity. Ferid has arrived with an intriguing but highly suspicious proposal: If Yu, Mika, and company will team up with him, he’ll supply the drug that can control Yu’s episodes of demonic possession, get them back in contact with Guren, and even maybe lead them to the secret of resurrecting their dead friends… But there’s a catch, of course, to that last point especially!

- This whole exchange: [Crowley] “Ferid…You do remember that you killed Yu and Mika’s entire family once?” [Ferid] “That I did.” [C] “For fun.” [F] “And was it ever so fun!” [C] “And we’re going on this long drive to do what now?” [F] “To become Yu and Mika’s new best friends, of course!” [C] “You realize that’s not going to happen, right?” [F] “Why not?” [C] “Well, if you look at it from a common sense perspective…” [F] “Common sense? Pfft! Who needs that? Don’t let that silly thing confine you, Crowley. Just think. Former enemies coming together, all through the power of friendship…I mean, I killed all of your friends once. And now look at us, we’re buddy-buddy!”
- Yu being surprised that Ferid is still alive, and Mika being confused that he is surprised, since Ferid was very conspicuously there when they first found each other in Shinjuko. Mika even sliced off Ferid’s arm when he dared to touch his “family*”! Yu’s response: “Ha ha…I guess I was too busy looking at you to see anything else!” Mika’s expression: “I’m flattered…but OMG, why are you such an airhead!” Narumi: “Hold it, you two. Would you not keep talking over our heads, please?” Because they both clearly forgot anyone else was there right now!
- Yu hearing Ferid’s car engine from miles away, and Mika pointing out that that’s not normal, and might be a sign of his advancing demon possession. [Yu] “But you can hear it too!” [Mika] “I’m not human!” [Yu, cheerfully] “I guess that makes us the same!” [Mika] “Yu, that isn’t what I’m trying to…” (trails off, expression very clearly indicating: Fuck it, I give up!)
- Yu arguing with Mika that his childhood plan to try and save their family wasn’t at fault for how things turned out. “What you did gave us a future!...This time it won’t just be you…Let’s do it again. Let’s go find our map out of here. Together. And this time all of us will make it out of the dark alive.” Awww! I mean, I’m almost as cynical as Mika about Yu’s “save everyone” plans actually working…but I’m nearly as weak for them too!
- The negotiations getting off to a poor start when Ferid (sick fucker that he is) displays the head of one of their chosen family in a jar. Yu flips out and goes all half-demon, requiring Mika to hug-restrain him. [Mika] “Yu, calm down!” [Y] “Mika, leggo! That’s the bastard that killed Akane!” [M] “We knew that already!” Of course, once Ferid takes the opportunity to sneak a little sip of Yu’s blood before injecting him with the demon-suppressing drug, it’s Mika who switches into “bitch I will KILL you!” mode.
- OMG, the reveal that Shinya and Guren’s other team-mates all died and that he caused the end of the world by using forbidden magic to revive them! That puts a REALLY ominous twist on Yu’s similarities to his mentor…
*Vampire limbs can be reattached, though Mika probably wished that wasn’t the case here!

Es increible todo lo que sucede en este volumen sinceramente, fue un shock tremendo las nuevas alianzas, y como todo desde un inicio involucraba a Ferid, es que simplemente me explotó lo cabeza.
Guren hijo de tu, dios, yo de verdad odio mucho a Guren o no se si es a Guren o lo patetico que es Yu confiando siempre en el otra vez

The number of revelations you get in this volume especially during the last couple of pages. Wow.
But if I must say something, it's about damn time we get Guren's backstory. I love love love his character, as flawed as he is, and as horrible he seems to make himself out to be. He fascinates me the most (besides Yu of course). I'm happy with the how the plot has progressed so far. There are many questions that remain to be answered but I have high hopes for this series.

There was so much happening in this volume, so many intense, exquisitely illustrated scenes, so many things I visualized happening which actually happened in this book, it made me head spin. Yuichirou. Mikaela, Makoto, and the rest of Shinoa Squad are on the run, but Ferid Bathory and Crowley Eusford come after them. In a sportscar. The fugitives try to flee, but the vampires aren’t about to let them to get away. Ferid Bathory can’t seem to decide whether he wants to tempt Yu and Mika into joining him or to drive them to despair again. He almost makes Yu go on a demonic rampage when he reveals a shocking ‘souvenir’ from Yu’s past. He almost drives Mika into a vampiric frenzy when he sinks his fangs into Yu. After which he makes a startling offer not only to Yu and Mika, but to Makoto Narumi, dangling something the young man badly wants in front of him, even as he tantalizes Yu with tidbits of information about Guren Ichinose. Yu isn’t the only one tormented by thoughts of their wayward leader. Poor Shinya Hiragi has been in prison, unwilling to cooperate with Kureto Hiragi and his minions until Guren himself comes to him. What is Guren up to and why? Mysteries and revelations pop up around this reader, including a scene where Kureto shares a confidence with Guren even while Ferid teases Yu and his friends with hints about their mentor. The vampire noble lives up to both Crowley’s praise and criticism in this volume, keeping everyone jumping with his antics, but there’s never a dull moment. There’s no question that Ferid Bathory dominated this particular volume, not that I minded. His moments with Yu, Mika, and their friends were alternately intense, terrifying, and hilarious, plus his scenes with Crowley were great fun. Intriguing tidbits about the two vampires’ shared back story came to life, even while I chortled in delight over the two of them riding in a classic car, bantering. Of all the volumes of this manga I’ve enjoyed of this series, this was definitely the most fun, even while it kept up the drama and the tension. For accomplishing all of this in a stunning art style, this gets five stars.

Estuvo bueno, no pasó nada demasiado emocionante pero se dijeron y revelaron varias cosas importantes.
Se me aclararon unas dudas que tenía, ahora a seguirle a ver qué sucede:)
SPOILERS:
Empezó con los chicos discutiendo el, por lo pronto, aliarse con Krul y planeando un rescate para ella.
En eso se ve que Ferid junto a Crowley están en camino para la villa donde se encuentran ellos. ¿Cómo saben donde están? Ni idea, Ferid lo sabe todo el maldito jajajaaj y Crowley ahí anda tras de el como su perrito xd
Bueno el caso es que Ferid algo quiere de Yu al parecer y desea llevárselos a todos para sus planes malévolos, y ellos aceptan ya que por ahora no tienen con quien aliarse o de qué lado estar ya que abandonaron el ejército, además que Ferid según les va a dar información sobre el seraph of the end y revivir a su antigua familia. Que muy probablemente es mentira duh jajs
Realmente no sé qué planea Ferid y cómo es que sabe tanto, está en todo literalmente. Sigo pensando que en algún momento se alió con Guren eso lo tengo muy pendiente de que me confirmen. Y es probable ya que por el final admite que gracias a Guren y que revivió a sus amigos se ocasionó el fin del mundo y la población muriendo.
Que siendo sincera no me sorprendió mucho, algo había leído al respecto antes porque me hago spoiler yo sola:) pero sí quiero que se explore más al respecto de ese tema y el pasado. Porque por ahora no pienso leerme las novelas ligeras de Guren y ni sé si ahí explicarían eso a fondo.
Ya quiero seguir leyendo y que se sigan aclarando las cosas, con Guren y Shinya, Kureto y su locura, Yu demonio y aparte Serafín y pues que se nos vaya explicando al desarrollarse la historia jsjs
Como siempre decir que este es mi manga favorito porque simplemente le tengo un cariño enorme, gracias a eso todos los elementos y personajes me encantan jsksj<3

Guren did WHAT because of WHAT??? Completely not my fault that I ship him with Shinya extra hard now like... that revelation was insane.
This volume was kinda fun?? Ferid and Crowley take a little trip to go to Yu and the gang and offer to help Yu's little demon problem if they agree to help him.
Godddd I hate Ferid SO MUCH. I'm kinda split down the middle because he is hot and eccentric, kinda funny because he says out of pocket shit and I don't know where tf he is going with this plan.
Then he makes creepy comments to Yu and Mika and I want to PUKE. Like the creep vibes are off the charts, especially to poor Mika and I'm praying Ferid will get his eventually. Hopefully soon please.😭 He literally created a problem and then sold the solution to it like that's smart but also fuck you dude.
I love how Crowley is getting lowkey tired of his bullshit too lmao. Crowley also... very hot.👌
Mika is so funny omg. His absolute devotion to Yu and always wanting him to hit the bricks and ditch everyone else.😭 Any minor inconvenience and Mika is like let's fucking go bae.
When Yu said he didn't realize Ferid was on the battlefield when he found Mika again because he was too busy looking at him and no one else??? I'm fine, totally fine. *sobs*
We are thankfully starting to learn some more things while also still being left in the dark about other things but I respect that. You know who I don't respect? Kureto and whatever the hell he has going on. I don't like him, I don't like his face, and I don't like that he yaps for so long without actually saying anything.

This might be one of my favorite volumes! It largely covers Ferid and Crowley's meeting with Yu's gang. I found these portions to be wonderful and exciting albeit with some weird choices. Ferid and Crowley are always a joy to read and there tenuous tip-toeing of fucking with Yu's group while also trying to work with them, which is such a Ferid thing to do, is fun to watch. It was nice how the different reactions were planned as well as both Yu and Mika react to Ferid's shenanigans differently from the rest due to their extra time with Ferid (especially Mika haha). However there were a few weird choices as we get some very plot convenient tech such as Akane's head in a jar to provoke Yu into demon mode for the cool demon fight scene and a temporary drug that cures one of demon possession. These come out of nowhere and while I'm sure they'll be used well they both felt a bit like cheap plot devices.
When it isn't on Yu's squad we get a glimpse on the Moon Demon Army. After their crazy line of betrayals and power grabs its neat to see the fallout between them all with Shinya imprisoned and Guren only now returning. Not only is the company in shambles with Kureto staging a complete coup over his father but tye individuals are as well as we see a different Guren and a broken Shinya.
Its finale is especially exciting as it hints that next volume we'll finally get information on the namesake Seraph of the End and Guren's relation to it (and his hand in creating the apocalypse!!!).
When it isn't on Yu's squad we get a glimpse on the Moon Demon Army. Lol you ever just start reading a manga just to then forget you ever started it, and years later feel like reading it again so you read exactly where you left off? Anyone? Just me?
It happened to me. I left by this volume way back in the day because I read them on one of those obscure pages and I usually waited for the Spanish translation which usually would take months to update. Yesterday a friend asked me about the anime and I was like “oh yeah, I used to read the manga... maybe i should get back to it” and I’m on that now... also I realized I never added any volume to my Goodreads, so I just did it.
Now with this volume: it took me some googling to remember some specific details of what had happened before this one I started earlier today, but once I started reading I remembered most things. I loved it and it was kinda nostalgic to go back to this series that I really liked a few years ago. I don’t read much manga anymore, but I still consider this to be good and entertaining. The characters, the plot and the worldbuilding are seriously so nice.

The start to the second half is pretty interesting thus far. With the three month time skip and the world having changed now that Guren is doing his thing with his demon and the vampires have been shown the horror of the Seraph of the End, enemies must not become allies and who first do we have with YuuMika forced to buddy up with Ferid. I liked how the confrontation was an actual confrontation and not one where everyone swallowed their feelings and went all buddy buddy. It was great to see that side of Yuu after he was all smiles from some other emotional events while Mika was the one with the extreme reaction.
It is still unclear what Kureto Hiragi true goal is, what Guren's intentions are, and lastly truly what Asuramaru knows, he seems to be way more knowledgeable about things than Yuu.
The volume bonus was interesting with Akane having speaking lines but only knowledge of what happened in the first half of chapter 1, the writer is cruel. The rest of the bonuses was the usual mini-poster which surprise wasn't YuuMika, and the typical chibi art and afterward.

Les entregó la cabeza de Akane a los chiquillos y dijo que tenía los cuerpos de todo el escuadrón del Narumi y que podía revivir a todos... CONTEMOS, son 4 del escuadrón y 5 con Akane, 6 con Mika... Va a hacer lo mismo que en el anterior manga, van a resucitar a 7 personas y para eso tienen que matar a un vampiro noble (Mika) y un demonio, MIKA DESPUES MUERE Y SE CONVIERTE EN UN DEMONIO, QUIERO MATARMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

After the craziness of the last volume, this one is a little bit less heavy, but have amazing twists that I didn’t see coming at all!
Crowley & Ferid are acting all chummy during their car ride toward Yuu and his team. The boy realise that his escape from Sanguinem was plan all along, but by who? Once again, Mika want to escape with Yuu and leave the human behind since they are the ones target by the vampires. Yuu is tired of running away, do not want to abandon anybody and prefer facing Ferid Bathory.
Things do not turn that well for the young soldier who cannot control his anger. The team have no choice to make a deal with the creepy vampire.
Far from the small village, there is Shinya, who have been lock up by the Hiragi. Kureto is the one to blame, and speak some nonsense about sacrifice the humans for a better world. I hate this guy more in more, every volume. I am not sure I trust Guren either, since he seems link in all this in a strange way.
