I'm developing a chess variant and this tome was extremely useful for avoiding the pitfalls of inadvertently replicating someone else's.

Spoiler: Most chess variants are terrible, single-note ventures that would scarcely keep my interest during a single play-through. If you're making a variant too, you might want to use this book as cautionary reference material on What Not to Do.
