The witty and tough private detective is back in a riveting murder mystery that will leave mystery lovers grinning and gasping at the same time.
We met Vishal Bajaj, the detective-protagonist of this book, in Saurbh’s previous novel ‘Seduced by Murder’. He continues how we remember him last - real, believable, intelligent and also vulnerable. With Pranay, his partner in solving crimes, he is ‘forced to work on any case that came our way’. Money is tight! Along comes Sangita one rainy afternoon, with what seems like a simple spy-on-an-old-lady-in-Juhu-and-get-me-a-picture request, in exchange for a huge amount of money. Obviously, there is nothing simple about this woman’s request. There are wheels within wheels, sub-plots inside the main plot and a thick rope of mystery looping around the handful of characters at a steady speed to finally tighten like a noose around the murderer(s). All this happens in 48 hours at breath-taking speed! But not before Saurbh Katyal delivers a murder mystery with his characteristic imprint all over
Saurbh Katyal is the author of 4 books including the popular hard-boiled thriller series featuring the private detective Vishal Bajaj. His second novel from the detective series titled The Invisible Woman was made into a web series by Saregama titled 'Hunter' starring Suniel Shetty & Esha Deol.
Besides writing crime fiction, Saurbh has also authored a parody novel and a non-fiction book on esoteric tales from Hindu scriptures.
Saurbh Katyal comes up this time with a mobile book. Yes, you can download this book on Juggernaut app in your mobiles. True to the writer’s genre, this is a murder mystery.
The story begins on a rainy day in Mumbai. Vishal and Pranay sit lazily in their detective agency wondering if they would have a client or not. Theymoney from their previous case was depleting very fast. At that very moment a very well dressed classy woman enters. She gives them a case and the photograph, name and identity of a woman in Juhu whom Vishal and Pranay have to search. It was an easy case for them. The woman to be searched was Mrs. Dolaris, a 60 year old woman who lived with her son David.
Vishal and Pranay were paid really well for this. The woman who gave them this case called herself Sangita. But she left no phone number or address. It took the detectives less than a day to figure out Mrs. Dolaris. But that was the beginning of something none of them expected. Mrs. Dolaris gets murdered the next day. And strangely Vishal and Pranay get embroiled in the whole coup.
Personally I am not a great fan of this genre, but this book kept me intrigued. It’s fast and extremely intriguing. We need to accolade the writer for a few nail biting scenes. One, where he is being chased by two men on a rainy night and two, when he enters Mrs. Dolaris Bungalow to find a corpse. He is descriptive enough to make you feel like you are watching a Bollywood movie and as the camera rolls inside, you are never sure from which way the monsters will strike.
Vishal is the protagonist of the book. It is through his narration we see all other characters and infact the city of Mumbai while it rains. Though we see Vishal running or hitting someone through the whole narration, at no point the writer has made him larger than life. You can believe that Vishal can be the charming guy next door who happens to be a detective.
Though Vishal is the protagonist, the writer has also used the city of Mumbai as a character. Through its rain, the murky lanes, it makes the book much more interesting. The side characters are well etched and each time they talk or do something you will doubt them of murder. But who murders everyone, in such a detailed and precise manner? At one moment you will feel everyone is a murderer and at one, you will feel, each one is a victim. You will feel a jerk in your spine each time someone’s phone rings at the middle of the night. And wonder who is on the prowl. Why did someone kill an old lady? Why is someone beheaded? The answer hangs somewhere in the middle of a rainy drenched night!
Read this book for its edgy pace and intriguing details. It won’t disappoint you. It’s a fast read. You can download it from the Juggernaut app and start reading it today. I promise you, you won’t keep it down until you hunt the murderer.
Go for it.

Book: The invisible woman Author: saurabh katyal Rating: 3.7/5
This is the second book of the vishal bajaj series. The writing is very simple, and you can read the book with a day or so. It starts with a woman entering into the office and asking the detectives to find a woman named Dolaris D'Souza within 48 hours. And a lot of events unravel within this 48hrs. Our detective enters into the spider web, and he does solve the webs of mystery around him. Really suprised by the killer. Heard that this is being made into web series starring sunil shetty and esha deol. There are some plotholes in the book. Like why cant our detective recognize the tone of the person when he/she already called? If he recognized the voice, then he would have really solved this case earlier.
My second one by saurbh ... its ouuuuuutstandingg... must read for mystery lovers...couldn't keep it down... very very different.... you just cannot comprehend what will happen
