M. B. Feeney is an army brat who finally settled down in Birmingham, UK with her other half, two kids and a dog. She often procrastinates by listening to music of all genres and trying to get ‘just one more paragraph’ written on whichever WIP is open; she is also a serious doodler and chocoholic. Writing has been her one true love ever since she could spell, and publishing is the final culmination of her hard work and ambition.
Her publishing career began with two novellas, and she currently has multiple projects under way, in the hopes that her portfolio of what have been described as “everyday love stories for everyday people” will continue to grow. Always having something on the go can often lead to block which eventually gets dissolved by good music and an even better book.
Her main reason for writing is to not only give her readers enjoyment, but also to create a story and characters that stay with readers long after the book is finished, and possibly make someone stop and think “what if . . . ”
I absolutely love these novella stories in the Exchange series from MB Feeney, and this one is no exception. This is the 3rd book in the series and this time it is the turn of Tyler King. We left Reluctance in 2012, with the epilogue for Reluctance being in 2019. The Repentance prologue starts in 2018.
All 3 books are written in a very similar style, with books 1 & 2 featuring diary or journal entries, whilst book 3 features some email communication between the characters. In the prologue we learn that Tyler has fallen in love with Anna, and he's found his 'love'. But they live a long way apart, Tyler from Arizona and Anna from Maine. Can their relationship last the distance? We are able to read some of the email exchanges between the 2 characters and see how their relationship develops over the coming months. Some lovely exchanges between the 2 of them.
I enjoyed Tylers character in this, after not really liking him from the previous stories - he has redeemed himself!! Another great novella, from this brilliant author. I would have liked a little bit more about when they met, although I did like how Tyler's time with Anna made him learn more about himself and almost grow up a bit in this book!
As with all of MB Feeney's stories, I want MORE!! A super easy reading, light-hearted read with everything you'd expect from this author. A lovely ending and another brilliant short story!! **** 4 solid stars ****
This is the third book in the Exchange series and I highly recommend reading them in order.
Tyler King is on vacation in Florida when he meets Anna, who works for an airline company. They spend two weeks together and neither can believe how they have fallen for the other.
When Tyler starts his new job in Arizona they two continue to talk and Tyler realizes he needs to make amends for his past before being ready for his future.
This was a great story about coming to terms with the mistakes of your past and owning up to everything you've done. I really liked how much Tyler grew up in this book and how he knew that he was ready to move forward.
Anna was a great influence on Tyler and I look forward to seeing what happens with the two of them!
We first met Tyler in the previous books of this series and to be honest I thought he was a bit of a tosser. He seduced Holly and left her her heartbroken.
Fast forward to 2018 and we find a very different Tyler King smitten and falling in love.
This book is a slightly different format from the diary of previous books it's mainly email exchanges and letters, but still unique in its style.
I loved seeing a different style to Tyler and his general remorse for what he did to Aiden in the past as well as Holly and hopefully building bridges.
My only criticism as always with this exchange series is that I'm left wanting more. As soon as it starts its over....
This book comes full circle after book one. I enjoyed getting to know Tyler King a bit more - especially since he didn't come across as the nicest person in the first book.
Loved the unique way we see snippets of his and his new love, Anna's lives via email exchanges as well as letters. His character evolves, and through these exchanges, his life takes on a new path and new meaning.
It was also good to see glimpses of Holly and Aiden and how their lives were doing.
And finally another half hour later and Exchange #3 under my belt Repentance was exactly what I wanted it to be.. to tie up the pieces.. to get to know Tyler what he was, why he was... whilst we go through a lot with these characters it's not too heavy emotionally, I had a few tears in my eyes at the end of #1 and some smirks in #3 but they are great light reads which I was able to get through during a train journey.. so no heavy emotions were wanted ! Lol... loved the characters development of both Aiden and Tyler and pleased that their relationship seems to be working itself out.
In Repentance we are met with Tyler's story, who we first stumbled upon in Dear Diary. I have to admit, after what happened in DD I took a dislike to him, but I grew to like him again in this. Since college he had matured, and upon meeting Anna he realised the true meaning of love.
Repentance is focused on emails between Tyler and Anna, with the odd letter to Aiden, and even Holly thrown in too. I liked the different format to this story compared to the others, though I think it ended too abruptly before the epilogue.
Like the others, a great short read that continues the series well. 4.5*

When Tyler and Anna meet unexpectedly one summer, two weeks simply isn't enough. A short yet sweet romantic read with emails between the pair and their 'hard and fast' in love relationship. The emails were a quirky way of telling us the story and while it could be a little fast paced, I enjoyed every page.
Would Anna be the one to finally tame the notorious Tyler King once and for all?
