good to eat! Celebrated word whiz Loris Lesynski is back with a poetry collection for her youngest fans. After hundreds of school visits, Loris Lesynski knows that kindergarten kids have their own kind of wit. Too old for nursery rhymes and too young for irony, kindergarteners crave a pure silliness that Zigzag supplies by the zillions! Bursting with zaniness, these poems focus on the pleasure of sound and the rhythm of language, and each contains an inherent invitation to join in. Catchy rhymes like "Anything's a Drum Drum" and "TEE HEE HEE" prove that "knees can be a drum drum/both of them a fun drum" and encourage readers and listeners to "sing and shout/ time to let the noises OUT." With rhymes about subjects as simple and familiar as school, food and even walking, Zigzag demonstrates how much fun poetry, and everyday life, can be.

Zig-Zag Zoems for Zindergarten was a very cute book. All of the poems were very catchy and fun to read. I enjoyed the illustrations as well.

The book is ideal for kindergarten aged students, I think it would work to introduce a unit or lesson on poetry. It provides a lot of good examples of repetition, rhyming and figurative language. In kindergarten, I don't know if children would be able to read the book on their own, and in this case I think the book would be best read aloud.

This is an adorable book for kindergardeners. Most of the poems rhyme, and it is a great place to start children on poetry. There are some poems that would help children learn, such as about numbers, letters or shapes. The images are basic, but they are enough for the child to understand what the poems are talking about.

This book has very fun and simple poems for preschool/kindergarten students. I think introducing young children to poetry early helps them to appreciate poems later in school and life. I would use this for read alouds to peak their interest.
