☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀ the amount of stars this book and message should get. This story makes me smile because the children knew there was something wrong and did something about it. Adults shook their head and said how sad. But the kids said, let's fix it.
Dana just wanted to play, maybe not like everyone else, just play. Daniel and Jonathon were upset that Dana couldn't play, she looked sad, and she didn't come back. All the kids, the parents, and the grandparent got together to figure out what to do.
What do you think of their solution? More children found their way to the playground. This is such a heart warming good story about how special needs kiddos are in need of the kid stuff. The freedom to play.

Beautiful children's book

This is a touching story of a girl that wants to play on the playground. She's in a wheel chair and unable to play with the other children. The people of her town get together and devise a plan to help her. I highly recommend this book! It's an excellent bilingual book!

This is a realistic fiction book that I believe that this is a great book to have in your classroom library for students to access because it has a low word count, easy concept to read, and easy beginner words. I personally didn't just love the book but I would use this as a lesson on self recognition and the names we a used and called by at home.

Great book

This is a great story to show kids at the playground caring about their friend in a wheelchair who can join them in the fun until they all got together to think up something. Love this book and all parents should read it to their children.

Touching and Inspiring

What a great story to get children thinking about the needs of others. I wish there were more handicapped playgrounds. I especially loved the "Facebook story" in the back of the book.

Dana Also Deserves a Playground is a children's fiction book. This book has a great concept-helping of others and compassion. Besides that, I did not really enjoy reading this book, there were several errors and I did not think it flowed very smoothly because of the repetitive beat. I personally feel that this book would not engage young readers because although the illustrations are fun and engaging the story line is not. I think this book is very oversimplified because all special education children are not physically disabled and this book does not cater to a true diverse special education community. This book holds a real-life problem of a disabled child not being able to play on the playground but since all disabled children are not physically handicapped there should be more focus on special education children as a whole rather than those who are only in a wheelchair.

Editing issues

There were some editing issues. My kids didn't enjoy it. They mainly discussed/argued what the playground equipments are called. When my children fuss & "discuss" edit issues & playground equipment & miss the actual point of the story that probably isn't the book for us. Her words were much too repetitive (taking away from the flow). My kids lost interest less than halfway through. The concept is nice.

I thought this was a good book with a great idea. When Dana can't enjoy the playground because she is in a wheelchair, others come together to help. It is a good story of what can be accomplished if we don't look at what people can't do, but try to see what they can. The author did a good job with a hard subject and the illustrations were fun for children.

First of all, this is all too real a story for many children. It is a story that needs to be told, shared, and read. The illustrations are delightful. I plan to use this story as a read aloud for my middle school students to encourage them to take action on their own community. Problem-based learning that can benefit many :) Please fix the typo in the ebook.
