4 Counties: The Complete Trilogy

Rate this book
4 Counties: The Complete Trilogy is an offering of all three of the 4 Counties novels combined. "4 Counties: The Story of The Last King of Texas", "4 Counties: The Last Bus to Balmorhea", and 4 Counties: Crossin' The Brazos are all packed into this awesome Kindle version value package. Already widely heralded in the western sports, equine, and rodeo industry, 4 Counties: The Complete Trilogy is a great opportunity to join the wave that Texas storyteller James Wayland Long started when he created his main character Kenny Wayne Harris, a larger than life Texan who inherits the historic Harris Ranches. With Long's freshman offering featuring a cast of characters that you will not soon forget, 4 Counties has been touted as "groundbreaking" and is being compared to names like McMurtry's "Lonesome Dove" and Ferber's "Giant". Long's writing style makes you think you are riding shotgun with Harris through the course of his life and is a testimony to a land that is hard on its people and loved like none other. A social media explosion of approval gave 4 Counties its initial traction in a way that could probably only happen in the Lone Star State.

Wayland reaches down deep thru the mud and the blood and the beer , pulls hard, & comes up with good stuff.

...and he just keep getting better at it.

Great stories but more importantly this is a keen observation of the people and ways of Texas.

Wayland has the potential to give Elmer Kelton as in The Time It Never Rained, a good run for his money.
