A mystery is brewing in Helena, Montana, and amateur sleuth Lucy Mathews is in the center of it... again.
An ex-reporter turned antiques shop owner, Lucy prides herself on being a true and loyal friend. So, when she discovers a new coffee kiosk is stealing business from a friend she is determined to help.
But, things are never that simple. At least not for Lucy.
The “Cuties” running the kiosk are a tad too cute for a group of do-gooding ladies. Kiska, Lucy’s Alaskan malamute, downs a bakery’s worth of cupcakes. And no one seems willing to help Lucy get the collectibles she needs to win the upcoming downtown window decorating contest.
Then, of course, just when Lucy thinks she can’t take any more… she lands on top of yet another dead body.
And this time more than one of Lucy’s friends is at the top of the suspect list.
Murder, antiques, romance. How will Lucy balance it all?

This was another fun installment in the Dusty Deals series. Lucy is prodded into entering a contest for best window display in Helena while the town's newest coffee place is killing her friend's business. This new coffee place is - you guessed it- serving up more than just coffee! When one of the "business" owner winds up dead, several people in Lucy's social circle are suspected of being the murder. There were a few red herrings, but the plotline never got so tangled to be unbelievable. Det. Peter Blake seems more in tune with Lucy's intuitions and schemes, and believes in her instincts more than the new part-time detective the force hired. I hope Blake puts Klein in his place in the next book. I really enjoyed the deepening of Blake and Lucy's relationship. Overall, just a good time reading this book.
Another great read. Her local coffee shop owner is down in the dumps. Apparently most of his regulars are now getting their coffee from a kiosk run by beautiful young girls. Wanting to see what all the fuss is about she decides to take a look. Add in a murder, special brownies and girls that are a little "too friendly" for a great read. One in which she finds herself in more trouble then normal. Will she come out unscathed and reveal the secrets of the coffee kiosk? Fun, light and a plot that will have you spoilt for suspects. Great.
I gave it three stars because I enjoyed it, it was funny and a quick read. I did however figure out who the murderer was long before I got to the end, and I also figured out some other things as well before the book confirmed it. If you have been following the series, I would still recommend reading it, I liked finding out what was new with the characters.
I love this series by Rae Davies and I can't wait to see what Lucy gets into next.if you love a great cozy with characters you will love and a story that keeps you turning the page then this series is a must read
I have enjoyed every book in the Dusty Deals Mystery Series. I look forward to the next mystery in the series. Please keep them coming. Lucy and her friends can't seem to stay out of trouble.😂
I love the way Rae writes. She is very descriptive & her analogies are fun. This book has great characters & a good storyline. Nicely written cozy mystery.
A little zany and a lot of fun, Loose Lips is another delightful entry in the Dusty Deals Mystery Series. Lucy has always managed to be a little out of step with the rest of the business owners but she has a big heart that gets her into trouble. For this year's heritage days, she accidentally chooses the towns infamous bordello as her theme. A new coffee truck seems to be offering some serous incentives to draw traffic away from Joe's, so Lucy decides to investigate to figure out what secret is drawing all the men in town to the new business. Naturally between her efforts to collect memorabilia for her display and to discover the secret of the coffee truck she manages to get into some real trouble.
This series always has my attention. And this story was no different. It. Had me laughing, gasping in surprise, second guessing myself. Loving the characters. And wishing for a little more of the cutest odd couple. Enjoy the book and figure out what is really going on with the new coffe place. ☕️☕️☕️
