At Casino Fortuna, stakes are high and the nights are hot…

FBI agent-turned-consultant Kate Daniels hit the jackpot with her new assignment. A cheat is cashing in on the Strip, and she’s hired by Vegas’ biggest name to ensure his glamorous casino isn’t a target. Fortuna is a high roller’s paradise, all gleaming marble and dollar signs. Even a single flaw in security could cost big bucks. Kate can’t afford distractions. Especially the tall, dark and perfectly chiseled kind. Business and pleasure don’t mix. And sleeping with the boss is a dangerous gamble.

Fortuna’s VP of casino operations, Ross Cooper, is gaming’s golden boy. He’s got a head for business, an eye for beautiful women, and a love for the Vegas lifestyle. When he spots a gorgeous redhead casing his blackjack tables, Ross is more than a little intrigued—he’s suspicious. But Kate is no thief…she’s working for him? Ross hates surprises almost as much as the idea of trouble in his casino.

Kate quickly proves she’s more than a pretty face. Her instincts and smarts are just as enticing. And when her investigation turns deadly, Ross will risk it all to keep her by his side.

description

This is a new author for me and I was pleasantly surprised! I really found the entire book pretty interesting - it has great characters, an interesting plot line and some surprises that I definitely hadn't counted on.

I really enjoyed our heroine, Kate. She was an interesting mixture of sassy and sweet. Of course, I liked Ross more. Hey. You know how it is with those handsome leading males in a book. Especially bossy ones. I don't know why but there's something devastatingly handsome about a take-charge kind of dude. Honestly, I think that the reason I liked both Kate and Ross so much is because these were perfectly fleshed out characters. The author included a back story to each of them and it was absolutely air-tight. Nothing was left to question. I appreciate that. It gave me a super clear picture of both of them and I find that it's easier to really immerse yourself in a book if the author has covered all of the bases. No need for vagueness with a main character!

The story itself really buzzed along nicely. There was always something going on and the story kept my attention since there weren't any slow parts. But. This is a little one this time ... all of the gambling info made my eyes gloss over a little bit. Couldn't have cared less. I know that sounds horrible. I really liked this book and those glossy times didn't happen very often but they were there, so it was worth mentioning. Those very few times made me skip a couple of paragraphs ... yes, it added to the story but well, that's how it is sometimes.

I did enjoy the ending. A LOT. I loved how the author pushed me in one direction and made me think one thing just to kick me in the butt and point me in another direction. Most of the time, I can pick stuff out right away and while this one didn't COMPLETELY surprise me, it was still a great twist and redeemed those glossy times. Great book if you like the romantic suspense novels. It will take you on a fun ride.

Kate Daniels, a security consultant and former FBI agent, is hired by the owner of Casino Fortuna, Robert Samuels, to do a security review of the place. Ross Cooper is the new V.P. of casino operations and was not informed Kate would be arriving. This does not make for a great start. I loved how the author gave us a good overview on how casinos operate. It was exciting as I have never been in a casino. There seems to be so much excitement behind the scenes that I think that that would be the place for me! I wouldn't want to become a career gambler! I am hoping that this will become a series.

Deadly Odds by Adrienne Giordano is a well paced and intriguing romantic suspense. Adrienne quickly pulled me in with the strong characters and the plot. Kate is a former FBI agent, now a security consultant. She's hired to do a review of security of the Fortuna casino in Vegas. Ross is the VP of that casino, and soon, despite a rocky beginning, the two are drawn into a plot that is no game, and even more dangerous. A cheat is closer than they can know...and soon he will up the ante...

I really enjoyed Deadly Odds. I loved the setting, and at times felt like I could have been right there in the casino. I liked Kate and Ross. They both have their own agendas, and thrown together unexpectedly, they also have a mutual attraction. The attraction builds and is impossible to ignore, but the job must come first. I liked how they worked this and how they were together personally and professionally. It wasn't always easy, but that made them real. They just really worked for me, and I could feel them click, even before they'd admit it! I was interested to see how things would work out between them, because they certainly do have their differences.

The suspenseful plot of Deadly Odds had a lot going on, and with surprises in the plot and secondary characters, I was kept guessing. I felt involved in the plot and could easily connect to Kate and Ross as they worked through the security issues, a cheat, and their growing feelings for each other. Everything was woven together seamlessly and as the plot thickened, the story flowed very well.

Exciting and mesmerizing with characters who have great chemistry, I couldn't put Deadly Odds down! I'd highly recommend it to any romantic suspense reader.

Loved this book! This is a fast paced novel with Kate, a former FBI special agent and current private investigator/consultant, sent in to a new casino to evaluate their systems - especially those for catching cheaters. She starts by sitting down to gamble at one of the tables. Ross is in the casino and her red hair captivates him. At the time, she is just a pretty face, but that changes quickly once she shows up in his office. Ross apparently knows everything about the casino he runs, except that a security consultant has been hired.

Kate never gets involved with a co-worker, never. Besides that, even if she wanted to, she has to figure out what is going on in the casino. This keeps Kate and Ross at cross-purposes, but that doesn't stop the sparks from flying.

This is a complex romantic suspense that is meaty enough for the most discriminating fan of the genre. Deadly Odds is a must read for romantic suspense fans. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Cheaters never prosper, or so the saying goes.

Cheater are, however, winning at some casinos on and near the Las Vegas Strip and Kate Daniels is called in to help find out who is cheating and how they are doing it. Ross Cooper is in charge of the Fortuna and not thrilled when Kate arrives – though he is intrigued. Her red hair and good looks are just his favorite type but with them working together nothing should be acted upon that would see them sharing more than a professional relationship. They realize they don’t have much in common BUT they are definitely attracted to one another. Add into the mix some interesting support characters, a couple of murders, an attempted murder and a few other things and you have a thrilling romance with adventure and a mystery to solve.

I enjoyed this book and would like to thank the author for the book in exchange for my honest review.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, suspense, and heartbreak.

This is Kate and Ross’s story. Kate is on a case to catch a cheater. She works for Ross but he was unaware until her noticed her watching the tables. Former FBI turned security consultant Kate is determined to take down the cheater. Ross is V.P. of casino operations and didn’t know that Kate was working for him. Now they must work together to take the cheater down. What happens when things turn deadly? Will Ross risk everything in order to save Kate or is the cheater just too close and ready to turn everything deadly? Lots of mystery and a little bit of suspense for this story.

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

10+ smart tricks to win at the casino

If you are one of those who wonder how to win in an online casino, we suggest you read the following 10 winning tricks. Remember that nothing in casino games is 100% guaranteed, but a few casino game tricks can bring you closer to success Visit this site to see how to chose the best casino with real money in 2023! And here are tips on how to win online casino games for real money!

1. Choose safe and reliable licensed casinos

First of all, we recommend choosing an authorized online casino. By providing a safe and secure online gaming environment from the start, you'll have more peace of mind about the payout of your final prize, as well as the quality and fairness of the games themselves. Check them out here on the official website to learn more about licensed gambling sites.

2. Read online casino reviews

Be sure to read the pros and cons of local casino sites so you can decide which one is best for you. Reading casino reviews may take some time, but it will still help you decide where the best place to bet your money is.

3. Analyze the slot machines

Another useful casino winning trick is slot machine analysis. There are many slot machine reviews on the internet as well as video reviews with sample games. Through them, you can find out from other players who have already tried the slots in question, how often they win and whether they are worth playing.

4. Try free casino demo games

As part of analyzing a slot game, it is worth trying its demo version. You can try them out for free and learn the ins and outs of each slot. With free play, you will have the opportunity to simulate the bets you would make with real money and decide what the final outcome will be.

5. Try one or another online casino winning system

Although winnings from casino slot games are entirely based on luck, you can still create a winning strategy. You can select multiple spinners at a time. Another option is to stop at games like roulette and blackjack, where you can win money using different systems.

6. After you accumulate a solid profit, stop

Don't be greedy players! Once you have accumulated a solid profit and you are satisfied with it, stop playing and rest. It's better to enjoy your winnings than to immediately put them back into the game.

7. Don't ignore jackpot slots, but don't rush them

Progressive Jackpot slots are a favorite among many bettors. Whichever mega jackpot game is your favorite, we advise you not to bet everything. How do you think the prizes stack up in these progressive jackpot games? There are always many players there and logically the jackpot amount increases with each bet. Of course, you can try your luck in these games, but don't go all-in.

8. Take advantage of online casino bonus offers

You will hardly find a leading online casino that does not offer play bonuses. Online providers give their new players solid sign-up bonuses, and casino no deposit bonuses are also very popular. Free spins are also part of the online casino's offerings.

9. Try your luck on more than one slot machine

Don't fall in love with an online slot machine, no matter how big the winnings are. Sooner or later, luck will turn against you. So a good trick is to switch the slots. This is especially true if you have accumulated a certain amount of game winnings. In such cases, a good strategy is to replace it with another address.

10. Include games like roulette and blackjack in the game

Winnings from casino games can be won not only on online slots, but also on roulette, blackjack or other games. Many more strategies and money making systems are possible with them than online casinos. However, online casino sites offer plenty of games to keep you entertained.

Bonus tip: Have fun and be lucky

Fun should always come first in the game. Don't look at casino games as a permanent way to make money. Everything is random with them, and you don't want to rely on randomness, do you? That's why you might be researching possible ways to win at casino games, but it's not a good idea to rely on them.

Well, that escalated quickly. I mean, come on.
After reading the description of this one, I had a pretty good feeling about it. Well, guess what. I was wrong.

Kate is an ex-FBI agent, now she's a casino consultant. Basically, she helps casino's catch the cheats. And Ross is of course the handsome VP of the casino she's working for. The plot sounded promising. A cheat in a casino. Enter Kate who was supposed to find the cheat. And the main characters get emotionally involved. Okay, not bad. What happened? Minor spoilers ahead!

The story had promise. It has the mistery, it also involves a double murder. It has romance. A funny side character. But honestly? There was zero build up. Like I said in the beginning, that escalated way too quickly. And I wasn't emotionally involved in the story at all. I blame it all on the dual POV. It features both Kate's and Ross' POV's. I delight in a good boy's POV, but this one was just painful to read. It was not good at all. Ross kept telling me that Kate was this perfect woman for him, she was beautiful, smart, made him feel like he wanted settle down, and blah-blah. But, Ross, my boy, DON'T TELL ME, SHOW ME. I didn't feel your "love" for this redhead. At all. Also, in some parts it seemed like Kate was a different person based on her POV and how she was seen from Ross'. She was just a normal ranch girl from her view, but was this calm, hot woman from Ross' view. The description didn't fit at all.
With Kate was the same. Ross was oh-so-handsome, rich, hard-working, a playboy, but she would be damned, if she didn't want him. And of course she broke her own rule of not mixing pleasure with work. But hey, if you have Ross as your client, how can you not? I TELL YOU HOW! READ YOUR OWN DESCRIPTION. Again, I felt nothing. Nada.

I guess, Ross was supposed to be hot, Kate a smart good girl, who didn't know she was beautiful. But sit down and let me tell you my POV. Kate was shown as an incompetent consultant, who then slept with her client. Ross was just a playboy, who got lucky with running a casino. Kate was pining after her family's ranch, Ross was cool with the Vegas lifesytle. But wait. What if? The work was slowly drowning him, and right there and then a beautiful redhead was planted at his doorstep. And like this he wanted a ranch life, too. Cliché, but if it were written in a different way, I would've eaten it up.

Then, we have two stereotypical male chauvinist bosses, and a supposed-to-be relief bodyguard Don. Don was actually fine at first, then he became a liability. Poor, poor Don. I liked him.

Needless to say, I was rolling my eyes way too much while reading this. And everything happens in just a week. Thank god Kate was not a very good consultant. If she were, they would've found the miscreant in two days. And of course it was supposed to have such a cliché ending!

"All he had to do was look at her fingers and his thoughts went to places those fingers had been and-bam-he wanted her."

Just a taste of how not to show a story. It would've been bam if the whole story was re-written in a more tangible way. Why, oh why, wasn't I more emotionally involved?

This book had a lot suspense. Lots of guessing who the bad guys are and who are just puppets. Kate Daniels is former FBI and now works as a security consultant. Her boss has sent her to investigate and security issues at the newly opened casino, Fortuna. Before meeting her clients, she decides to check out the place herself and coincidentally runs into a former colleague who drops clipped messages about his own current investigation which has led him to Fortuna.

Ross Cooper (CEO of Fortuna) is a workaholic. He schmoozes with all the clients to ensure they are welcomed and comfortable while spending money at his casino. He has an instant interest in Kate who he sees in his surveillance room cameras and decides to head down to the floor to meet her in person. His boss has failed to mention to him and Don Sickler, his head of security that they’ve hired an outside security consultant to help fix any cheating that might happen.

Everything is happening all at once when they discover massive losses and dead bodies. This story is full of who dunnits and who can they trust. Loved the easy relationships the characters had with each other.

Edit: Also the incident with Mrs Miller falling over in the casino - she gets referred to as Mrs Long in part of the scene.

brilliant

## BRILLIANT. Loved this book so much. I couldn't put it down. These characters were fabulous. Oh how I adored this heroine. She was capable, smart, kind, AND beautiful. I'm so tired of reading about plain or plump women. I don't want to read a story which essentially is all about a heroine's weight issues. It's fiction. The hero Ross was...well...yowza comes to mind. Very hot. Their connection was tremendous. And their banter was so fun it made me smile throughout and I love that. Another thing I LOVED, was that there was no instant forgiveness. The heroine was brave and walked away. Yay. Doormats need not apply. The casino action was interesting and exciting, as were the secondary characters Don and Marcia. I wish there were more books to this series but I guess this is it. However, I will gladly be rereading this one again and again. Well done!

This book takes place in a Casino, which should be obvious by the title. I know exactly two things about Casinos, (1) the house always wins and (2) gambling bores me to tears. Despite the female main character being FBI-trained, the only thing all of the male characters care about is the color of her hair (red) and the length of her legs (long). The major mystery (the minor one being who's ripping off the casino) was how long it would take before someone "got into the pants" of the female main character. At 35% it became obvious that the answer would be "not long". Since she's just started working at the Casino a day or two before, there's no way that this can be considered anything but pure lust. Not my idea of the basis for a lasting relationship.

Yay! A new series by Adrienne Giordano :)

I have to admit, what I know about gambling would fit on the head of a pin. A very, very small pin. I went to a casino once with my mother while we were in the Bahamas--we played a quarter slot machine once each and then left with no desire to return or do more. So the world in which this series is set is completely foreign to me, though I've read (and loved) Sarah MacLean's The Rules of Scoundrels series and adored the Ocean's Eleven movies. (The George Clooney version, obvs.) However, that didn't stop me from loving the story, its characters, and yes, even the setting.

(Though I finally Googled "mini bac" at about the 2/3 point. I had no clue what on earth it could possibly be, it had become increasingly clear that it was going to be of some importance for the plot. It refers to mini baccarat, apparently. It's a kind of card game--though I at least had that much sussed out on my own!)

So it was safe to say I wasn't going to be figuring out the solution to the "suspense" part of this one solo--though I was all over the "romantic" portion of the story! ;)

Despite my ignorance of casinos and how cheating might be carried out in them, I had a lot of fun reading this first-in-the-series book. I loved both Kate and Ross, and Ross's coworkers (his assistant Marcia, who rules the office with an iron fist and Don, the head of casino security) were absolutely awesome. I'd sign up for the rest of series based on the camaraderie of those three alone--four, if Kate will ditch her loser boss and consent to join their team. Each and every time Don offered to make Kate his "number four" I just had to smile. Because yeah, the guy's a charmer. His old-school sexism aside.

But Ross...now that man's a whole 'nother story. And when he's together on the page with Kate? The sparks are definitely flying. Now if they can just figure out who's managing to cheat the casino--preferably before anyone else gets killed--they might have a chance at an actual relationship and not get fired...

Anxiously awaiting book two! I can't wait to see where this series is going to go :)

Ross Cooper...WOW! Sexy and Hot!! Godlike good looks and a good guy charmer in one package...so very swoon worthy. Ms Giordano's wicked sense of humor comes through in spades through Ross, where whip smart dialogue, and witty banter abound...I would expect nothing less from this author. Being a big fan of her other series, I can only see wonderful things going forward with this Casino Fortuna series.

Kate, as captivating as she is skilled at her job at catching the cheats is the perfect compliment to Ross. She doesn't fall for his game (where most women trip over each other to get to him) and that frustrates him and makes for hilariousness with all the dodging and weaving between the two. And there are Ross' inner dialogues...I found myself laughing more often than not...here's this player who women throw themselves at, yet he only wants one woman, but doesn't want her to know...his mind talking...hilarious!

Then there's Ross and his quirky sense of humor, after his and Kate's first kiss, to make it less awkward for her, “So,” he said, “that was above average, yes? Next time, I’m thinking more tongue on my part. What do you think?”...and he's developed this obsession with her naked, in his bed, with only a pair of custom cowboy boots on. It's really hard not to laugh at the circus that seemingly plays continuously in Ross' head where Kate is concerned.

These two remind me very much of Janet Evanovich's couple Nick Fox and Kate O'Hare, there is explosive chemistry between Ross and Kate, along with a sexy push-pull the two are constantly batting between themselves. I am definitely looking forward to the next installment in the series...I have no doubt Ms Giordano will make it every bit as captivating as this first book.

I loved the book. It was suspenseful, funny, and loving. Kate used to work for the FBI and did an undercover job in a casino. She was trained and found she had a knack for spotting cheaters in the casinos in Las Vegas. She quit the FBI and now works for the man who owned Casino Consulting, Inc. who is a micromanager. She is a consultant for a Fortuna Casino just outside of Vegas. The owner of Fortuna and Dominion, Mr. Samuels, is a real jerk too. He pulls surprises on the head of his security, Don Sickler and Ross Cooper who runs Fortuna. He has hired Casino Consulting, Inc. who Kate works for to come in and find areas of concern in their security. The casino has not been open long and neither men are crazy about the idea. After talking with Mr. Samuels, they of course agree to show her around and get her situated. Kate has looked Ross up and found out that he is a womanizer, but the poster child for getting things done in the gaming industry. He is very good looking and has a killer smile that can melt a girls panties. Kate is a red head which Ross has always been attracted to red heads. Kate is different than most women he knows. She is a straight shooter, smart, and keep her cool in a crisis. This is a real turn on to Ross.

The first day Kate is at the casino she runs into Mark, who she used to work with at the FBI. They talk some, but he doesn’t tell her much about the case he is working on, just that he is talking to a Dale Cousins who is a suspicious dealer at Dominion. The next day Cousins and Mark are found dead. Then things start to heat up at Fortuna. The house is losing money on some of the games, Kate is being threatened, and other nefarious things are happening. Adrienne does a great job of telling the story and keeping you interested. I encourage you to get the book and see what happens. I was given the book for an honest review.

I received this book as a complimentary ARC for an honest review.

Loved this book! Thrills and passion continue to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating romantic suspense by Adrienne Giordano. The relationship between Kate Daniels and Ross Cooper is unique and complicated, but their love is undeniable. Kate is a former FBI agent and now a consultant for the Fortuna Casino. Ross is the new VP of Fortuna’s casino operations, and is considered the casino’s gaming golden boy. Although Ross is single, his reputation precedes him as a player who is a handsome and sexy bachelor that is a well dressed executive of Fortuna and is always seen with redheaded women on his arm. Kate is smart, independent, does not get involved with clients, and good at what she does. She was contracted by Ross’s boss and sent to Fortuna to investigate the casino’s security and why they are losing money in the mini-bac. Ross was unaware that Kate was hired by his boss until she had a meeting with him and his VP of Security, Don Sickler—you cannot help but to like Don.

Ross takes his work seriously, and he is busy running the casino 24/7. He finds that he is instinctively attracted to Kate because she is gorgeous, smart, and a redhead (which he loves), but he is not one to mix business with pleasure. Will Ross forego this rule when it comes to Kate? During Kate’s investigation in why Fortuna Casino was losing money in the min-bac, two murders occurred and her life was threatened. Why would someone threaten Kate? Why did the murders occur and who did it? Will Ross be able to keep Kate safe? Trust me, you will enjoy reading this book, and you will not be disappointed because this book will pique your interest.

I'll start by saying that I loved the cover. It Is what drew me to the book in the first place. I've never read this author before, but I will definitely be looking out for her books in the future. Personally, I found this book to be very interesting. I liked the Las Vegas setting and the behind-the-scenes look at what goes on in the casino. Granted, I didn't know a lot of the terms not being familiar with casinos, but I was easily able to figure out from the context what the characters were talking about. The characters themselves were very well rounded. Ross was a clotheshorse yet not stuck up or snobby. His sidekick, Don, was an older guy and very old-school Vegas. He was one of my favorite characters since he was so inappropriate most of the time and vastly amusing. Kate was a kick butt and take names kind of woman. She had a job to do and had every confidence that she could get it done. The sparks between she and Ross were evident from the beginning even before they knew who each other was. They made a fun and entertaining couple especially with Don always butting in. As for the suspense, a cheat is loose in Vegas skimming from the casinos. It is Kate's job to find this person and solve the problem. Ross doesn't believe his casino could possibly be targeted because he believes his defenses are too strong. When Kate finally does come up with the suspect, Ross becomes angry and believes Kate is trying to ruin his business by going behind his back. Things go downhill from there. Kate may get her suspect, but will she lose her man in the process?

The characters kept me connected throughout, and I enjoyed the storyline. I received an ARC from Net Galley for review.

An enjoyable story, it's been a few years since I have read an Adrienne Giordano story and I'd forgotten how good they are.

This story is the start of a new series set around a Casino and this one focuses on Security Consultant Kate an ex FBI agent who has a knack for spotting cheats and VP of Casino Operations Ross. Who is really not happy when Kate first arrives at the Casino. However gorgeous she is, he doesn't want her interfering in his Casino no matter what his boss says but when a dealer from the sister Casino is murdered and an FBI agent and friend of Kate's is also killed it becomes clear that Ross needs Kate's help and when she herself is targeted the pair grow closer. Only when it beomes time to prove who is behind this Ross becomes sceptical and Kate begins to regret ever mixing business with pleasure.

I really liked the two main characters, there was plenty of chemistry between them, and the end confrontation was pretty thrilling. Some of the other characters were also great especially Security VP Don who after three wives kept threatening to make Kate his fourth (Mainly to get Ross to act on his obvious feelings) and his reactions at times when it appeared guests had been cheating were pretty fun. All in all though a great read and I will certainly be looking out for more from this series in the future, and would happily recommend this story to others.

Deadly Odds by Adrienne Giordano is another fast paced romantic suspense by Ms. Giordano.

Kate Daniels is smart, independent, and doesn't hold back when she is on the hunt for a cheater. Ross Cooper is the "golden boy" of the casino gambling world in Las Vegas. He also has a reputation as a player which makes sense when you read about his work addiction. But he has a soft spot for family and that begins to show more and more as he and Kate work together. Don may be a throwback to the early days of Las Vegas; but he was snarky and wasn't going to give an inch on tracking down cheaters. In spite of some colorful old school remarks about women, I loved him and he was a great secondary character that moved the story into high gear.

I can always count on well rounded and likable characters in Ms. Giordano's books. There is great insight into the security details of a casino, great banter between Kate, Ross and Don, a story that is smoothly paced and includes some danger for Kate. I could not put the book down and the twists kept me glued to the pages. I never guessed who was behind the cheating. Oh, and the HEA was sweet. I wouldn't have minded an epilogue to see if Kate leaves her current position and moves on to some place (?Casino Fortuna?)where she could do a job that she loves.

I was given an eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed in this review are strictly my own.

I was intrigued when I read the synopsis. I'm a sucker for romantic suspense and this definitely didn't disappoint.

I liked how Kate made her entrance. She definitely has brains, looks and bods though her skills as an ex-FBI were a little lacking IMO. However, I do need to give her credit that it didn't take long for her to sense what's amiss.

Ross keeps himself up-to-date with all matters concerning the casino but having a new security consultant threw him off especially after discovering the consultant is Kate. I liked how he takes note of even the little things and makes a point to know his staff. He may be high level but he's definitely down to earth.

Something is going on in the casino and things get more serious after 2 people were found dead; 1 a dealer working in Fortuna and another, an agent who was following on leads relating to another casino Dominion.

The suspense was good. It was fast paced with quite a bit of humor especially from Don. Some light casino terms were used and I was lost at mini-bac. I liked the chemistry between Kate, Ross and Don. It's said that Ross is a player but I didn't see that. This is my first book by Adrienne and it won't be my last. Looking forward to read the rest in this series and I hope one on Don and maybe his number 4?

I want to start by saying I love suspenseful romance books and when you throw in humor how can you possibly go wrong, right? Well Deadly Odds most definitely did not go wrong!

The story takes place in Vegas where a string of crossroaders are hitting various casinos (FYI crossroaders are what the old timers called cheaters). Kate has been hired by the new casino (just outside of town) to test their security. Kate is a former FBI agent who used to tracked cheaters with a special unit for the bureau but now works for a private security firm. While working the floor, Kate quickly learns all is not right at the new Fortuna Casino. She also meets Ross Cooper, the casino’s handsome VP. Ross is instantly smitten with Kate (of course at this point he has no clue why she is there). But Kate is onto his womanizing ways and doesn’t fall at his feet like most women do. (Let the hilarity begin)

The author has done an awesome job of weaving a hilarious romantic story with a dangerous situation. The series of twists and turns will keep you turning the pages as Kate and Ross get closer to finding out just exactly what’s going on at the casino. This is a must read in my humble opinion, one your heart and funny bone will be very glad you read. 2 Thumbs up for a great book and this reader hopes there are more to come in this series.

Kate Daniels is a security consultant assigned to do an assessment at Casino Fortuna. She left the FBI because she wanted a change and she knows that she has a talent for spotting cheaters. This is her first solo job and she wants to impress. Ross Cooper, the new V.P. of casino operations, is not thrilled to have Kate nosing around, but he'll do what the casino owner wants. However, the powerful chemistry between Kate and Ross could be a problem. When they're together sparks fly. They can't afford to be come involved. Right? Things quickly become complicated when an FBI agent and a dealers to the casino are murdered and Kate is threatened. Who is the crossroader behind this operation? I like Kate. She's intelligent, determined and strong enough to stand up to the man in charge. Ross is a workaholic. He doesn't have time to enjoy life. He's a charmer who doesn't want to settle down. Or didn't before he met Kate. Their romance is so passionate. I wanted them to beat the odds. I enjoyed the snarky Don Sickler. He's old school Las Vegas. He keeps Ross on his toes. Deadly Odds kept me on the edge of my seat. Adrienne Giordano blew me away with this story. I didn't know until the very end who the mastermind was. Talk about unexpected twists and turns! Deadly Odds is great read.

This was a very fast pace thrilling read with suspense that will keep you turning the pages. I found this to be highly intriguing from an author who knows how to grab a hold of her readers and pull them in. There was nothing I didn’t like in this book from the plot to the wonderful characters.

Kate and Ross are wonderful characters you can relate you are going to love them. Kate was FBI now she is a security consultant. Ross is the VIP of the casino that Kate has been hired to go over their security. These two are attracted from the start, they might not see eye to eye but it doesn’t take them long to become a team working together in finding the cheater in this dangerous cat and mouse game.

These two have a powerful attraction with strong chemistry you can feel. The author writes in a way that you feel you are part of the story and everything is taken place before your eyes. You have no trouble picturing things in your mind as they unfold. They are a team to be reckoned with together they make an unbeatable team. They are totally different but blend well together making them well balanced together. This is a story that is well written that flows easily across the pages and in your mind. If you like a thrilling action fast pace romantic suspense this is the one for you. It was truly a story I could not put down.

This is a first time read for me by this author and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

Deadly Odds kept me hooked the entire way through. I liked the Vegas and casino setting, and I thought the author did a great job of creating a believable environment for the characters. It was clear she'd done her research. I will admit not everything was explained well at times, especially when using technical terms. I'm not sure if there are different names for cons and such in the US, but I know quite a bit about sleight of hand and couldn't always imagine what was going on. Small complaint though.

For the most part I really enjoyed the story. I thought the plot was great, the characters were strong, and there was definitely a spark between Ross and Kate. The book was paced well and the relationships and events moved at a good speed. It wasn't too quick, and it didn't drag either. I also liked the banter between Ross, Don, and Marcia. Don put a smile on my face more than once. It added a little humour to the book.

Even if the cheat was kind of obvious, I still enjoyed this book. I'd definitely recommend it and will more than likely look out for this author in the future.

Great new book by Adrienne Giordano centering around the Vegas casino world! The story and characters draw you into their story quickly and you keep devouring page after page to see what's going to happen. Lots of excitement and a sexy romance ... and the interactions between some of the characters has you chuckling out loud every so often!

Former FBI Special Agent Kate Daniels is now a Consultant working with casinos to catch cheaters. She's been hired by one of Vegas's biggest names to come into his newest casino and give him feedback on how his well his security is set up to protect his interests. She doesn't expect to run into shady dealings and danger right off the bat!

Ross Cooper has been with the company for years and is a top notch VP of operations there at the casino. He's got an eye for the ladies, and runs into Kate on the casino floor even before he realizes she's working there. Will the chemistry between them be an issue in them doing their jobs?

Several unusual happenings catch their attention quickly and they set out to find out who is up to no good while trying to stay safe themselves!

Kate is a former FBI agent turned security consultant. She is hired to check out the security at the Fortuna hotel casino. Ross is the Fortuna's VP of operations and the gambling worlds golden boy. When a ring of thieves begin to rake in the winnings it's up to Kate to figure out just how the ring is doing it. When she is tipped off by a former FBI colleague about a dealer at the Fortuna's sister hotel thing could get deadly.

I loved Don, the head of security and the hotel, his character was crotchety and funny as hell. He is reluctant to let Kate handle things but he quickly changes his mind when he sees her in action. The attraction between Kate and Ross is slow building, she doesn't believe in getting involved with a client but as things get more dangerous she gives in to her feelings.

This is another brilliant book by Adrienne! The characters are believable and you feel as if you are in the casino. I'm not sure if this will be the first in a series or a stand alone, either way it's a great read.

Book gifted by author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I love KATE!. She had it all. The looks, the brains, the humor, and she's an ex FBI agent. I mean how cool is that! She meets Ross when she's contracted to a do a review of the security by his boss at he casino he runs. Something is going on and casinos up and down the strip are losing money and no one has any idea what's going on. Ross is busy 24/7 with running the casino. I loved however, how he was so down to earth even with all the craziness around him. Blows off a business dinner cause he told his mom he would come to dinner at his parents house is one of the ways that he's so sweet. He's a great mixture of playboy and boyfriend material. Sparks fly and keep on flying when they meet. Kate and Ross know its not a great idea but soon they give into temptation. So now they are involved with each other, while on the track of a cheat who has raked in millions of dollars and possibly killed two people. The book was very faced paced and kept the momentum going.
