After accidentally discovering the possible existence of a second Guardian book, Lusam and his party are remorselessly hunted high into the Elveen mountains by the Empire agents, who are intent on killing or capturing them. What they discover there, may very well change the balance of power in their favour against the Thule Empire. But their discovery will count for nothing, if they cannot reach Lamuria in time to try and stop the massive invasion force sent by Lord Zelroth, who is intent on destroying their capital, and stealing The High Temple's secrets for himself. Lusam inadvertently discovers a long guarded secret of Lord Zelroth's, one that will profoundly change his own life forever, and force him to take action that he may very well not be prepared for.
More fantastic adventures from the mind of Dean Cadman. Book 3 could easily be the final book of the series, but it's not! You will be captivated this page turner. You must simply go to book 1 & begin this wonderful tale for yourself.
Lusam: The Dragon Mage Wars Book 3 Best read in order.
In A Nutshell:Luscam is the mage of all mages. Well, he will be by the end of the series. An adolescent fantasy, easy reading just don't expect too much or dragons, as yet.
The Plot: Lusam is saving the world from the evil Thule Empire. In this instalment, Lusam's crew is rushing to save Lamuria from the Empire's invasion.
The Protagonist: Lusam is an adolescent boy with a pure heart and a hell of a lot of magic.
The Lusam series is a pleasant way to pass the time. The series is certainly improving. But the writing is dull in places and repetitive. Sentence after sentence contains the word days and the theme of always being on the point of defeat. Yawns.
I am looking forward to book four because I have spotted a dragon and can't wait it see how wrong I am 😜

My rating system (* = star) 0* Could not finish this book (waste of time) 1* Finished the book but didn't like it. Two* Finished the book it was okay. 3* A good read worth your time. 4* An excellent read often with a novel concept or plot. 5* A great read. A prominent example of the genre.
I am ready for this series to wrap up. It’s just not good enough for a lengthy series. The author plans six books.
The story is engrossing at times.
Too much anachronistic language. Demise?? Devoid?? Death and empty would resonate with the setting and characters.
Renn seems to only know one way to address people: “old friend” crops up several times in short conversations.
The author repeatedly has the comrades roaring with laughter at things that are barely worth a smirk. Laughing until they cry. Nothing wrong with a simple smile. A smirk. A chuckle. Whatever.
Lusam strangely laughs at painful or discomforting accidents, like getting dunked, or getting dragged through the mud by a galloping horse. Saying that characters laugh does not comedy make.
But the big problem is the Empire’s goal, to open a rift to the Netherworld. Are all these mages suicidal idiots?
A very nice addition to the story let's you see them all developing, the implied scenes are quite fun and makes you think maybe the book isn't so innocent. However in the series as a hole there are too many 'Suddenly' ' and' out of no where' - it just seems a bit lazy and not well thought out, might need to work a bit more on these scene developments to make it seem more natural and actually add lore to the character building. But over all an enjoyable read
I felt that this one dragged a bit, but it was still enjoyable. I'm undecided on whether I'll move on to Book 4. The author threw out a teaser that was fairly enticing, so we'll see. If you want to know what the teaser is, just read the description of book 4 and you'll immediately know what I'm talking about.
I like fantasy books and was hoping for another good dragon story. This turned out to be a nice surprise even through no dragon's have shown up yet. It does give the reader hope in life to never give up. Kind regards, JGP
This is such a fun series. Never predictable, I really love all the characters, and judy can’t stop reading. I finish one and Jane to start the next. Great series.
I am enjoying this story and the characters etc.... you do have to get passed the frequently repetitive and excessive wording, but other than that it's a good story and the audio is decent.
When new characters are introduced, I'm usually immediately suspicious of them hoping they wont be generic, none of the characters in this book disappoint!!
A good series that keeps getting better, especially with Dragon Mage Wars Book Three. I am even happier to know loose ends will be tied up with a book four. Can't wait to see how it all ends!
I am totally immersed in the story and look forward to book 4. Mr. Cadman is stepping into some very big shoes, and though I imagine he has a blister or two, I can see his growth as a writer as the tale progresses. Lusam & his growing band of heroes are packed with distinct and interesting personalities that fit their ages. The world building is colorful and easily seen in the imagination of the reader with just enough detail for the minds eye to fill in with their own personal visualization. Book One brought Lucam and his back story gently to life, paring him with the effervescent Nealas, and love enhances the magic. Grounding our young mage in a real human story as his powers grow. By book three his crew has grown into a group all depending on each other for survival, each having a realistic and magical role to fill. My one small negativity is I can see Mr. Cadman's growth as a writer as the books progress, or maybe I just suspend disbelief the farther I get sucked into his world, but I still think there is room to smooth out rough edges. This saga has the potential for greatness with a rewrite. That said it's still a good read, and I look forward to the rest of the tale. Please publish the rest soon!

This series has kept my glued to the end. I couldn't put them down until I finished. I just wish the next book was out. Hopefully soon. I recommend this for everyone. Easy to read and you will want to keep reading. It has everything, for most readers. Well thoughtout plot and story line. Great characters to boot. Great Reading Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
I have enjoyed these books (this being no. 3) so far, they are good, easy reading and the story is engaging.
I do think they are aimed at young adults, but that doesn't make them any less enjoyable, however, one thing that I found slightly irritating is the author's need to have us read about something happening, then read about the character repeating what happened to someone else.
Also, occasionally a character will repeat the same phrase over and over, in my view this doesn't turn what they are saying into an interesting quote, it just made the person seem like a bit of a plot filler?
I love the characters in this series. Lusam is such a likeable hero. He has grown so much as a person, and it makes him even more likeable. I was so excited to find this series and started reading it. But lo and behold, the complete series is not finished, which was an unexpected and sad development. I really hope I do not have to wait long for the next book. You must read each book in order, otherwise you will be completely lost. You will not be disappointed, if you like mages, war, love and fighting for justice.
This series rates right up with one of the best I have read in some time now as usual I have to keep watching for the next installment soon I hope, I really like the way the books played out .I like the way the characters were developed and you were there at the beginning and this was spot on for a beginning a plot, and end it kept me on my kindle for to much time thanks Dean for your hard work watching for more in the future
This book was a little more interesting, but I still fill it could have been so much better. I like the character s but the action s of them confuse me at times .I think I'm just used to the books I usually read Jordan, good kind,Sanderson, gywenn and use to more complex books, but I'm in between books an awaiting the next ones. Except Jordan who passed on..but these books have been enjoyable an I will probably read the next one.
Once I downloaded the book and started reading I couldn't put it down. I loved the third book and how Lusam, Rennie, Bella l, Zedd and group move through all their challenges and adventures. Can't wait for the next book and see how the story goes and where the author will take the story.
I really enjoy theses books and can't wait for the next one. They have lots of action and the author gives you lots of information about what's going on in his worlds, some fantasy book are hard to follow but he explains everything and I really appreciate that. If you love fantasy, you really need to try out this series.
