He'll crush his enemies to protect me, but will he break my heart? HOLLY

When that rebel biker hunk Axl Archer thundered into my life, he kidnapped my heart with one kiss. Then the bastard Reapers put a hit on me, forcing Axl to bring me into his club—and his bed.

Now we're on the run, where death and treachery lurk everywhere. He's dangerous, and his existence threatens everything I love. I shouldn't want him, but the harder I shove him away, the deeper he slips inside me.

AXL

She knocks me out like f*ckin' morphine. A good girl like Holly is a drug for a broken man like me. But I can't get that little spitfire outta my mind, so when she needs a bodyguard, I'm there. Until the brutal, bloodsoaked end—unless my love ruins her first.

They don't know it yet, but the f*ckers coming after her are already dead. I'm gonna make her mine, and no man will ever touch her again. I'm gonna make her drip with desire and then satisfy her, inch by inch. She's gonna beg for my baby, and nothin's gonna stop me from putting it inside her.

Even if it means going up against my own club.

**AXL is a standalone romance novel in the Sons of Chaos MC series. No cliffhangers, and a guaranteed HEA.**

What's that, you're okay with making out with the douchebag who kidnapped you, after you just walked in on him getting his knob polished by another lady?

NO THANKS.

This is why I don't have faith in MC books.

Fuck this book.

Note for me: This one has some very disturbing sexual activities between the two MCs.

This review contains spoilers.
While I enjoyed this book I did have a few issues firstly Holly is supposed to be really intelligent but when she finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time she has enough sense to try and stay hidden but not enough to stop filming the two MC's.
Also, and is one nearly stopped me reading.
After being the cause of a bloodbath and probably a war Holly finds herself at the Sons clubhouse, after being told not to leave the room she's in, she does the of course and comes across Axl and a busty blonde on her knees before him, Holly storms out and Axl comes after her not two minutes later she's on her knees in the same position the blonde was in. Now seriously, I know she's attracted to him and it's not as if he was cheating because at this point there's nothing between them but he'll still be covered in the blondes salvia, I mean is it me or is that just a bit gross?
Now I really liked Axl, he's a hot sexy biker who falls hard for Holly and I loved that also the story had enough to keep me reading it just needs tightening up a bit, for example how would Holly know that Lynch was the road captain, it's not been mentioned before?
"We got a lead. The Sons’s road captain lives one street down.” “Road captain?” I said. “Shit, that’s Lynch!”
Now while I liked Axl (most of the time anyway) I feel with the girls he's having sex with he has more to be concerned with than just pregnancy and I hoped he'd be more careful.
'If I barebacked it, I spent the next couple weeks sweating it out until the chick was on the rag again.'
Nice!
So all things considered with the inconsistencies and mistakes I can't in all honesty give more than 3.5*

One of the best romances I've read to date!
It started out with so much intensity. The life of this biker is not for the faint of heart. He is bad-ass!! Axl is also hot as heck!
So then Holly comes into the picture in a whirlwind, so-to-speak.
We can't resist Axl so how is she expected to?!
I love how this book comes together at the end. The reader gets everything they could ever hope for and more!
I literally loved this book so much that I almost read it in one sitting! I just didn't want to stop.
Yup, it's a good one. Can't say that enough!

I was given this book for an honest review.
I did like the book, the writing was great. I want to give it 3 1/2 stars bc although it was good I felt like it was missing a little something for me. It in no way is a terrible book and I will read more from Rollins.
The biggest part I think that bothered me was how Holly is so willing to give Axl oral sex immediately after she walked in on him with the other chick doing the exact thing to him. I could not connect with Holly & that could be why I feel like something was missing.

Film student Holly has a brilliant idea for her senior project -- a documentary of her small hometown, a place ravaged by drugs, alcohol, and gangs. While filming in the local junkyard, Holly stumbles across a deal going down between two rival motorcycle clubs. When the guys from each side notice her hiding in the back of a beat-up pickup truck with a video camera, they assume the worst and all hell breaks loose. Bullets start flying, a war begins, and Holly is caught in the middle. Axl, VP of the Sons of Chaos MC, is the only one who believes Holly’s story and takes her under his wing to protect her.

Mild spoilers for the first ~20% ahead.

To be honest, I only read this book because I wanted to get this guy’s face off my TBR page. This is a terrible cover and it does not fit at all with the way Axl is described in the book (6′5″ with model good looks). I don’t really like MC books to begin with but this one was inside another book I own (Havok) and so I felt obligated to read it.

I’m glad that it was only 200 or so pages because I don’t think that I could have put up with this for one second longer. The first time I almost DNFed was around page 2 when Axl’s misogyny first shows. Then I almost DNFed around page 25 or so, when Holly walks in on Axl getting a blowjob from another woman. About three pages later, Holly has seemingly forgotten about this and gives Axl a blowjob. I almost threw my Kindle across the room. I was about to give it all up by page 35ish when Axl is in bed with yet another woman.

I powered through to get it off my shelf. This book is terrible. Do not recommend.

I reviewed my free personal copy of this book for Wicked Reads

It's a bit cliche but action packed, so I read it till the end. Holly is finishing college with a film degree, she's somehow caught on film two rival bike gangs in a junk yard trading arms. She gets found and Axl decides she's hot enough to vouch for and he puts his life on the line for a woman he just met. Lots of instalove going on, instant attraction with life altering consequences. BUT, Axl is a pretty interestingly written character and I find I want to read a bit more about him. The book really does pack a lot of action into the story line with best friend betrayals and rival clubs, inside jobs and hits. Holly seemed extremely out of character to me once her & Axl end up alone together. She turns very slutty and not at all like the girl we just met. It was very odd, but Axl stayed in character the entire story so I was able to overlook Holly's character lobotomy and concentrate on him. Of course we have the obligatory pregnancy even though the timeline seemed rushed for it and Holly was on the pill, but i can see why the writer did it, only save she had for Axl's suicide mission of revenge. It wraps up well with an HEA and a solid 3 stars.

I am skeptical when I read a book by an author for the first time. This is the first book I have read by Riley Rollins and I have to say I was impressed. I have read many books about motorcycle club and this book is one I would recommend to read. She has everything in it you could possibly want in a very good book. She makes you laugh, cry, scream, holler, and want to KILL the bad guys, and definitely makes you want to take Axl and do things to him (smiling). That is one of the main things I look for when reading a book. Is can the author make me feel the emotions of the people in their book? She grabs your attention at the beginning of the book and holds it till the very end. I started this book yesterday around 6:00 pm and finished it at midnight. That is another thing I look for when reading a book. Will it hold my attention throughout it? The story line works perfectly with the characters, all of them. That means the main characters and minor characters as well. She does an awesome job at making the secondary characters a part of the story line. I also look at the ending of the book. Does the ending work with the story line, and does it make you want MORE? Yes, this book did all of that. I totally recommend this book to mature readers 18 and up because of violence and explicit sex scenes, which are panty melting!

Holly is a grad student at Southern Arizona University. She is smart, shy, and has a bright future. She is the first in her family to go to college. She is working on a documentary about her home town for her photography and cinema class. She only has about 1 month and ½ till she graduates. She is in the desert at a junk yard to film it as part of the documentary about her home town. She has just start to film when she hears motorcycles coming toward her. She jumps in the cab of a vehicle and peaks to see what is going on. The she sees another group of motorcycles coming. That is when she realizes she was somewhere she shouldn’t be. Once all the men have gathered in a group one spots Holly and hollers “in the pickup” and everybody starts shooting. Holly keeps the camera going but tries to keep her head down. Then before she knows it the only thing that saves her is one biker—who she called her knight in shining armor. He jumps in on top of her and pins her to the floor of the pickup. He is hollering at her wanting to know who she was and who sent her. She explains to him what she is doing. Then he tells her to do exactly what he says or they were both dead. Holly had no idea at that time that the muscled, tattooed, six foot six man was going to take her on ride she would never forget Axl Archer. He is a member of the motorcycle club the Sons of Chaos. One kiss was all it took for him for him to capture her heart. The Reapers put a hit on Holly and Axl goes to get Holly against the orders of the club President Ryker. She keeps trying to push him away, but he just slips deeper inside her.

Axl Archer is the VP of the motorcycle club the Sons of Chaos and he never dreamed that he would find someone to care about in the junkyard. She is like a drug he can’t quit. He loved the fact that she was a little spitfire and she needed someone to protect her, and he feels it is the club’s responsibility to do that. But the Club President and two other members feel that she should be set free on her own. Axl wasn’t going to have any of it. She was his and the men after her dead and they just didn’t know it yet. He had no idea that one woman could make him that there could be more outside the Sons of Chaos. He was going to claim her and make her beg for his baby and he was going to put one in her. Even if he has to go against his club.

Will Holly every be safe? Can Axl crush his enemies and protect her? Or will he break her heart? Will Axl survive what he has to do to protect Holly? Or will he be set up by those he calls “brother?”

No spoilers. Plenty of twists, turns, murder, sex, and may-ham! A definite must read. ARC free book given for an honest review.

4 Stars, Really enjoyed it!

I was graciously gifted an ARC of this book and because biker books are one of my top favorite reads, I couldn't wait to dive in.

I have never read anything by this author before so I was skeptical and nervous, just because I was not sure what to expect fromm her, lol. I know, I sound crazy but I wasn't sure what "limits" would be tested and/or what red flags I would run across. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. NOW, with that being said, for my safety gang readers, hmmmm, not sure this is the book for you. Me, I have my own personal hard limits and red flags when it comes to my romance reads and naturally, biker books can almost always test or push those boundaries. Now for me, I don't mind every so often pushing the envelope and although I thought a few of the red flag "incidents" were minor, others may find it to be a major issue and turn-off. Let me also clarify that when I say "I don't mind" for me, it all depends on the story, the book, the characters and most importantly my "mood" for the day, lololol! Today, I was caught on a "throw caution to the wind mood" and so this story worked for me:)

OK, so on to the writing and the storyline. The writing was very good, the storyline was also very good, a bit over the top and not necessarily seeming "real" at times, BUT all in all it was very good. The characters were good and although this was definitely an insta-love and insta-lust relationship it all worked for me. Again, the stars were all aligned and the mood was right for me. The story was very quick and fast-paced so again, that makes a difference to me in how I am perceiving the relationship development as well as the story as a whole and again, it all worked for me!

Congrats Riley Rollins, I truly enjoyed this engaging and fast paced book and I will definitely read more from you in the future. I have high hopes for you because I believe that you have the potential and with time and maturity, I truly believe you could become a go-to author for me. Best wishes:)

This was a great story from first-time author, Riley Rollins. The story itself focused on the two main characters: Axl, VP of Sons of Chaos MC, and how he stumbled upon Holly, a college film student, in less than anyone's ideal circumstance. She's caught filming an illegal meeting between the Sons and rival MC, Reapers—you know that's not gonna go down well with either club. Axl decides to protect Holly and the two of them take off, trying to avoid getting themselves killed. Learning pretty quickly that no MC can be trusted, including his own club, Axl and Holly have developed a mutual trust for each other. They make their way to a Nomad biker facility, where Axl runs into Big Mike, an old, loyal friend. Big Mike is a great character—he'd be perfect for an MC president. Realizing that he can never go back to his club, Axl wants to take care of some unfinished business. In doing so, he considers a life with Holly—outside of the MC world??? Hmmm.
The loved the storyline—it was fast paced, action packed, and held my interest.
The main characters—Axl, Holly, and Big Mike—were extremely likable and believable; they were given enough depth to relate to each of them.
There were some grammar and punctuation mistakes—not too bad though.
The ending was an extremely different outcome that I've ever read in an MC novel (and I've read hundreds of them). It actually made me laugh because I didn't see that coming. All in all, this book was highly enjoyable and entertaining. I'd definitely recommend this one, and I look forward to reading future work from this talented author.

I'll admit the whole "the hero was getting oral from another woman when the h walked in only to receive oral from the h just a scene after it happened" complaint worried me but I was super bored and thought what the hell, I'll read this anyway. And yeah, it wasn't classy but the way it was written I'm assuming the woman was about to go down on him for some oral fun time but hadn't even got his pants open yet or at the very least her mouth on him, which hey, I'm not saying excuses it but it didn't seem to me that it actually went down as other reviews claimed it did. This book was absurd though. The timeline was all whacked out IMO. I'm not sure how the h figured out she was knocked up toward the end when I'm pretty sure they'd only been on the run for like two weeks tops, if that. So whatever. The author did whatever they wanted. I wasn't a fan. It wasn't a great book and nothing worth recommending IMO.

So.....It was ok. The characters were uneven at times.
The trigger warnings from other reviews are true. After meeting during a junkyard gang gun purchase gone wrong, the H and his club take the h back to their clubhouse to figure out if she was involved (the h was there shooting documentary footage when she stumbled upon the gangs). The H leaves the h in his room and grabs a club girl whose blowing him when the h walks in on it. She runs off and he chases her down then she blows him on the side of the road....ew! After she leaves, when they don't expect to ever see each other again he's again with a club ho ready to get it on when they are interrupteds. That's it for scenes with ow but for some it's major no-no's.

Anyway, lots of violence a few really hot sex scenes, it was free and I was entertained but nothing out of the ordinary.

Instalove done well

***Spoiler Alert*** I enjoyed this little book, even though MC romances aren't my preferred sub-genre. The author did a nice job of humanizing the biker hero. Editing is clean. There's less sex in the book than I anticipated, but that's not necessarily bad. I did catch some plot holes and discrepancies in the story, which would merit some revision. The HEA wraps up neatly, although the sudden presence of excess cash when the MC is supposed to be short on funds just doesn't ring true. What I did like was the elevation from the violent MC lifestyle at the end.

I read a fair amount of MC books however this one just fell flat. First off what girl will give a guy a BJ oh the side of the road after having walked in on him getting a BJ from some random slut?!?! Second of all no MC is going to let random college girl in on club business. Also the VP is not going to toss over his club for someone who he just met even if there are issues within the club. And who the hell gets pregnant in less then a week?!?!? I felt like this book had no clear direction and that the author was trying to squeeze all of the different story ideas into one book. I am not sure if I will try book 2 or not.

I loved this story. It's full of action (yes a few steamy scenes). Axl is the VP of the Son's MC and a total alpha male. Axl's life hasn't been easy and is betrayed by two of his own brothers in the MC. BUT, Axl is stubborn, strong and smart...especially when he decides to fall for a college student who is caught video taping a 'meeting' with his MC and another.

Definitely a great read. If you enjoy MC, alpha males and strong women than you'll enjoy this book!

Axl saves Holly from being killed during an exchange that she witnesses by accident. Just seeing her once makes him want her, yet he's still getting down and dirty with club whores.

Holly is a good girl, now with problems. She was someplace she shouldn't be.

The ending was very anticlimactic. I was thinking there had to be more than a type of, "and they lived happily ever after", but there wasn't.

This story was one I had anticipated to being a lot more rough and sexy. I loved the story line and I love MC but I felt that the characters were too off putting. Axl was too soft for a biker I believe and his girl was too controlling a bossy. No real biker is going to let a girl make his decisions and that's what I felt she was doing. With that said, the chaos that ensues and the steamy sex sessions gave the story a sexy vibe.

On the ledge

This rated more around 3.5 for me. It started out a bit questionable (hint: bj scenes) but I guess that the reality of MC life? I couldn't really judge since I don't have first hand exposure. But getting past that, the story ended up fairly decent. The characters were debatable or maybe their moral compass was.

Wrong place, wrong time? These two have absolutely nothing in common, Holly is looking forward to graduating from college and Axl is the VIP of a motorcycle gang. The timing may be off but these two are perfect for one another. She is the calm he needs to feel lovable while surrounded by the dangerous life of being in a gang.

Just no. You witness a shootout between bikers. Your life is threatened, you're kidnapped, held hostage, and within hours you're thinking about Stockholm syndrome. A few hours after that, you're giving him a blow job on the side of the road. That's far as I made it. Chapter 6, didn't even finish.
