Manson Girl : The True Story of Susan Atkins

Rate this book
Susan Atkins was one of the more notorious female members of the “Manson Family” headed by Charles Manson. She was part of a gang of serial killers that terrorized Southern California in the summer of 1969. Known as “Sexy Sadie” because of her occupation as a topless dancer, Susan was involved in eight of the nine Manson killings including the gruesome Tate/Labianca Murders. She would be sentenced to death which was later commuted to life in prison. Susan would be denied parole over eighteen times in becoming the longest-incarcerated female inmate in the history of California.

This relies too much on Susan Atkins' own words, and she is a known liar, so everything she says must be taken with a grain of salt. On top of that, this is full of flat out misinformation. Not recommended.

Horrible person

These people are repulsive and fascinating in equal parts. What the heck is wrong with them? I don't believe for one second that any of these people wouldn't have spent their lives in prison. The only thing Manson did for them was make them famous for their crimes, otherwise they would be lost to history as they die off.

I don't recommend this one. Too many quotes from other sources. She constantly changed her story, so who knows when she's telling the truth?!?

Unsure

It wasn't good. But it wasn't great either. Yet it was worth reading. I believe more of a story would be needed to get a better feeling.
