Evelyn Carter, a young, struggling video news stringer, is recruited to join an elite government-run time travel agency. She and her team travel through time with the public goal of collecting artifacts lost to time and capturing historical events on video for the world to see. Along the way, she learns of a secret in history so terrifying that it must be kept hidden from the public at all costs. Lost history, top secret agendas, and a frightening future are just the beginning. Something massive is about to happen and it is up to the team to find a way to stop it. Buried deep in the past, the puzzle pieces start to fit together. For the team to stop the unstoppable, they must journey farther through time and space than anyone thought possible.
Strangely enough, I quite liked this strange little light science fiction novel about a crew that moved forward and backwards in time solving problems that led to further problems to resolve. I say ‘strangely enough’ because I first had to get over the almost early adolescence obsession with naughty body parts and underwear that lines the pages. Women answer the door in their bra and panties without that fact ever having relevance to the plot, and there is a constant taking of showers followed by towels revealing a breast, or a man worrying about having a ‘towel malfunction’. I kid you not. My eyes rolled at the very idea of ‘a towel malfunction’, and I thought I couldn’t possibly have read that until the leading character wore a very tight dress to the ambassador’s dinner, which led to her friend worrying about her having ‘a wardrobe malfunction’. The novel is lighthearted, gentle, warm, and even if the science behind the solutions and the time travel itself seemed less than consistent, the novel rocked along and brought a smile to this reader.
I would actually like to give this one 4 1/2 stars. This was such a cool listen. There are so many little nuances that make this book something special. I do have to admit with the main character being female and the narrator being cast a male I didn't know what to think at the beginning but, it definitely did not affect anything and it was actually very well done. You have to love the main characters spunk and randomness throughout the book. At times she had me laughing and at other times had me laughing even harder. The premise of this book is simply fantastic I am already a time travel book lover but this one I couldn't put down. I really don't want to give too much away and it is unfortunate because I think I could write a 1 million word review on this book. The relationship of our main characters is pretty awesome as well in this book. I think they blend well together and definitely gave the book a little added bonus. All of the secrets, conspiracies, or whatever you want to call them that are mentioned in this book Are really really cool. I tend to follow a lot of them and to hear them written within this book and weaved into the plot of the book so flawlessly was really refreshing. The author has a great taste in music as he mentioned some of the bands featured on a playlist of one of the main characters and I loved every single song. There's a lot to like about this book the landscapes, the ideas and the characters are all just wonderful. The performance and narration was spot on as well. What a wonderful job Thenarrator does with the female voices, tone, and all the other accents from the other characters he needed to do. The whole book and production was really really well done. Even when there were little gaps in the action the narrator and his performance pulled me right back in and I never lost interest throughout this book. I definitely recommend this one. There is so much to enjoy it is really out of this world! Oh yeah better watch out for that Black Knight because it is definitely watching you! Wow! What can I say? I loved it! This is one of the most original books I've come across in a long time. Some of it was very fantastical, think Christopher Moore but not as silly. I would definitely be interested in seeing where this story could lead if it were to continue. I will also say I had to go get crab legs one night while enjoying this book. The seed was planted & my craving took root. Lol
Slight spoiler: I just know Sue was pregnant but it was never revealed.....
Narration was excellent! I've listened to another book narrated by Kevin Clay & it was great also.

Fun and easygoing scifi. Reminds me of tvshows like Timeless and Stargate Atlantis. This book is realy easygoing on the sci-part and is clearly intended on "pulp-readers". Fast pased and something new around every corner. The language is alsy "pulp-fiction", intended to be read fast and easy. I can recomend this book to anybody looking for something easy in the time-scifi-part of books.
I enjoyed this book. It was much different from the other time travel books I've read. It was much more science fiction with the emphasis on the science. All the travels were done to verify moments in history or recover artifacts. A pod is the means of time travel, and each pod has a captain, engineer and documentarian. We learn that there is a whole different species of humans living below the surface of the earth, and people like us on the surface. We also learn that the below ground species moved there thousands of years ago to survive a solar flair. We also learn there will be another solar flair in 80 years, but there isn't enough room for the current above ground population to move underground. What happens next is exciting as the pod crew try to save the world from destruction. The only complaint I have about this book is that Carter, the documentarian and newest member of the crew, seems to be the only one to come up with ideas for saving the planet. She isn't the smartest or most scientific, but seems to be the most optimistic.

Time Traveler Chronicles Kindle Edition by Robert Werden
I just finished reading this, it is rare for me to finish a novel in a single setting, but the story just pulled me right along! I really enjoyed it, and look forward to the next book in the series.

What a great book, very well-written and a great storyline. This book kept my interest throughout, and was a good science fiction novel that I would recommend to any sci fi fans. In part, it reminded me of Stargate SG-1, so if you’re a fan of that, you will probably like this, except it’s mostly about time travel rather than going to other planets. To improve it, I would remove the vulgarity of too much swearing. It adds nothing and is a bit distracting. I would also have only metric units used throughout, which I believe the US military use, it would make it more believable.
Just one of the BEST time travel books I've ever read!
Oh..... I'm breathless! This story grabs you and won't let you go! The characters are so very Real! The interaction of same makes the reader part of the story! I'm loving it! Can't wait for the next in this series! I received this ebook in exchange for an honest review. If you love Time Travel stories, this book is for You!
Interesting tail of time travel and complications of both travel and the effectiveness of science against simple common sense, that saves the earth from destruction. Good pace and character development, but sometimes over simplified. All in all a worthwhile read.
Even though I am the author, I wanted to leave a review for my narrator Kevin Clay. He did an amazing job of bringing my book to life with the spoken word.
Not your typical time-travel story. I wasn't expecting some of the things that happened in this book. It as creative, entertaining, interesting and very enjoyable. Unusual and bit different from the other time-travel stories I have listened to.
It doesn't take long for the story to pull you in. It's constantly moving forward at a good pace. Your never quite sure what is going to happen next. Several of the twists the story took were completely unexpected. Interesting cast of characters with a great story.
Time travel comes with it's rules, and consequences. Some of which you could never be prepared for. Be careful of the causality loop.
Kevin Clay did a great job with the narration. Nice voice easy to listen to for long periods of time. Clearly spoken with a smooth even pace throughout the story. His characters voices are good. Even his female voices were good. There were a few times that he could have put a little more emotion in some of the narration. Then at other times you could feel the emotions of the characters. He has a voice that would be great for narrating documentaries.(Maybe he already does and I just know it). I would definitely listen to other books he narrates. Overall very enjoyable.

DNF. The story starts fine but the writing is so bad. Within the first 2 hours (audiobook), there are too many juvenile references to the lead characters boobs ( sample: "she reaches to coffee cup and towel slips. she quickly pulls it up but not before Bill gets an eye full of her incredible figure and one of her breasts. Bill says 'you sure are physically fit' she says to try to defuse the situation."). The story also goes lame with all the "major" revelations just being told to the lead vs discovered. I could not take anymore...
Has everything, time travel, space travel, ancient civilization (existing), aliens. Science is acceptable with a bit of license. Enjoyable story but ending a bit abrupt and final location was poor, with all the space investigation a better ending location than next to an aggressive alien civilization makes more sense.
Only unacceptable issue was the hollow earth scenario, underground civilization is believable, but not the hollow earth. This was ridiculous for an SF novel and barely for a fantasy novel.
I liked the premise of the story. It did require the reader to really suspend belief but that was easy Ily overlooked. I did notice many grammatical mistakes - lots of possessives missing the apostrophe, e.g., "Carters camera" instead of "Carter's camera". Still, I liked it enough that I will read the sequel.
I wasn't overly thrilled with this book. It borrowed from old SF themes with a few decent twists and turns. The writing could have been better and the editing was (IMHO) sub par...some of the sentences made little or no sense. And I get it, she's a beautiful woman! But, there were some good things here. Arrakis wasn't built in a day and there was a nice set up to the sequel.
nJoyable, with lot of fictional science. Specially the inner of the earth and big bang. But ya, suspension of disbelief help. Some of it is silly, but it's better than a YA. It's more of a novel for tweens. I'm sure I'll read it again, but will wait at least a couple of years.
This was good, not great.Kevin Clay is a nice choice for narrator for this book.In this future we take pods to past events to collect artifacts lost to time. There seems to be little effort to blend in and hurting or killing contemporaries is frowned upon but ok.Full of adventure and a bit of history, it is fast moving and interesting.I was provided this book free by the author, narrator or publisher.
Carter is a stringer. A stringer captures news on camera and sells the footage to news stations. She has made a decent living doing this since leaving home at 17 to get away from her parents who argued incessantly. Until she captured the news story of a life time. Until she was first on the scene when the time travel pod showed up.
Bill is a career officer and completely fulfilled with his mission to collect artifacts, capture time lapse video of earth history, and trying to find a solution to humanities ultimate demise. When his camera man turns out to be not quite up to the job, Bill starts looking for a replacement. At the top of his list? Carter. Once Carter joins Bill’s team, things begin to move fast. Carter has a way of taking bits of information and weaving a tapestry that solves mysteries.
This listen was interesting and I was invested in the characters, but it was on the light side and the dialogue was a little formal and stiff. There was a lot of explanation and not a lot of complicated science or tech. The narration was good and Kevin Clay does a decent job with the voices, both male and female. He did the best he could with dialogue that wasn’t the best.

What a comic disaster - Carter the stringer - videographer - somehow becomes the only "genius" in a base of top military time travelers and she saves humanity living on the crust of an Earth soon to be toast from massive CME's - not once but 3 or 4 times in a couple of chapters. Time travel is being used to seek artifacts that won't be missed enough to cause a paradox and to correct the record on things like geology while the President and his brain trust only wish to steal the keys to the "inside Earth" enclave inhabited by humans who fled to the hollow core of Earth at the last extinction event leaving them 400,000 years advanced from the surface humans. Yes that's right - the planet is hollow with humans living inside out with continents and oceans - and all the surface leaders can think of is stealing the inside by eliminating the inhabitants. But the high school educated Carter figures it all out in time to move the planet to another star.

The only reason I read this to the end was because of the story line. The writing, however, was absolutely some of the worst writing I've ever read. No depth, poor sentence structure. The writer did not transport me into this book, like a good book does. A talented author could have really done something great with this story line.
Once you pick your laws of physics, you need to STICK WITH THEM
An OK story, but full of conflicting ideas. Whether it be cause and effect within a timeline, or whether a time ship can operate in proximity to a phase shield, what is set up as a plot point in one part of the book is completely ignored in another. Inconsistencies like that kept pulling me out of this story.
