My son (reluctant reader and reluctant listener - age seven) loves it. I hated it, but if it'll get my kid excited about a book, that earns it five stars. He's excited to finish the rest of the series (and so am I - "finish" being the operative word!
A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++. This is a great way to open your imagination. I suggest reading it after you read the other books
It was a beautiful day in Steves wheat farm. Suddenly, 2 people showed up named Alex, and Will. They told Steve that his old friends Kyra, Lucy, Max, and Henry had been held captive by griefer's when they were treaure hunting. Steve was mad, and he wanted to save his friends. Steve, Alex, and Will whent on a journey to a desert temple to find Steve's friends. They got attacked by many mobs, and many dangerous things happened to them as they journied to the desert temple. Evenyually, they arrived at the temple after many dangerous moments, and after meeting some friends a long the way. Steve, and the little group had to sneak into the temple, and save there friends. With perseverence, and stealth the group made it, and freed the old friends. The team had an epic fight agains the griefers. Nearly dying, Steve, and the group had taken down the griefers. The group slept after all the long adventure. The next morning the group spread up, and all whent homes in different directions. Kyra, Max, Henry, and Lucy whent back with Steve to his village, and house. The team was exhausted, but Steve was happy that he saved his friends!
As a fan of the "Unofficial Gamer's Adventure" series, I was excited to dive into "Treasure Hunters in Trouble." Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. While the premise was promising, the execution felt lacking.
The storyline revolves around familiar gaming tropes, but I found it predictable and sometimes confusing. The characters, while likable, didn't evolve much from previous installments, and I wished for more depth and development. Additionally, the pacing was off—some sections dragged on while others felt rushed.
On a positive note, the book had some entertaining moments and a few clever references that kept me engaged, especially for younger readers who are into gaming culture. However, I was hoping for a more cohesive narrative and stronger character arcs. As it stands, "Treasure Hunters in Trouble" felt more like a filler than a must-read in the series. I'm looking forward to the next book, hoping it will bring back the magic I loved in earlier adventures.
My 6 yo got this set of books for Christmas and he wanted to start with this one vs Book 1. He’s mildly obsessed with Minecraft and this has been a really great way to get his reading in at night. I’ll be honest, I was not looking forward to reading these books as I’ve found most books like this are really quite horrible. But surprise, surprise! I actually really enjoyed reading this to my son. Great plot, fun short chapters and I enjoyed talking to my son about the story. He also filled in a lot of questions I had about Minecraft so he enjoyed sharing his superior knowledge with me. Lol. So if you have a child (or more) who love Minecraft but need to find a fun book to read - this is a good place to start.
I picked this book in order to encourage my middle child's reading, and judging by this criteria only, this book is pretty much a success. As a bonus it's not as badly written as most branded books, and all my kids, even the youngest who is too young to play minecraft, enjoyed it. I think we'll pick up more books in this series.
I liked this book because I really like Minecraft. I also liked this book because I like adventure books and this book was a adventure book when Steve and everyone were in the Nether.
More of the same. Typos persist. (On page 9, it uses the word "griefer" when I'm pretty sure it means "creeper".) Steve makes more new friends, and someone learns a lesson about doing the right thing and not being a griefer.
In this book, a gang of "rainbow griefers" have captured Henry, Lucy, and Max. Kyra and Steve and a couple new friends set out to save them. The premise is good, but then the story gets totally sidetracked as the group goes treasure hunting along the way. It just seemed like, if your friends are in trouble, shouldn't you help them first, and do your treasure hunting later?! Steve did try to keep everyone on track, but he kept getting voted down.
I like this book because they have explained this very clearly about the characters, setting, Problem, solutions, etc. They also use a lot of verb, adverb, adjective and noun to describe what us happening.
