They now know the true enemy. Sanctum's pursuit is constant, and it begins to take its toll on both Colby and the Eidolon. Colby grows weaker each time she flashes, while the Fray's beckoning is driving Theo to madness.
If they can make it out alive, it will be a miracle.
Their bond will be stretched thin; their sanity stretched even thinner. Enemies become allies, and a brother's journey to revenge comes to its snapping point in the last chronicle of the Lucent series.
The Lucent Series is perfect for fans of fantasy romance adventure and science fiction romance. Also ideal for paranormal romance lovers who enjoyed sagas such A Shade of Vampire Series by Bella Forest, the Immortals After Dark Series by Kresley Cole, The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer, and The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward.
Lila Felix is full of antics and stories. She refused to go to Kindergarten after the teacher made her take a nap on the first day of school. She staged her first protest in middle school. She almost flunked out of her first semester at Pepperdine University because she was enthralled with their library and frequently was locked in. Now her husband and three children have to put up with her rebel nature in Louisiana where her days are filled with cypress trees, crawfish, and of course her books and writing. She writes about the ordinary people who fall extraordinarily in wild, true love.
This was the final book in the Lucent series. I love it. I love Collin the "Viking" he makes me chuckle. I cried a bit in this book, but I laughed too. I was on the edge of my seat a lot! Lila Felix books always make me cry and laugh. This was the perfect end to the series.
This is only a short review. The book does deserve many more words, however it's been a while since I read this book. So I will review again once I have re read the series But I did enjoy this series very and can highly recommend.
And if Sactum thought he was in trouble before- he was really in hot water now. There was a gang of Lucent women on his tail. Pissed off Lucent women. Women whom he had stolen their very essence from. And it was well know what they said about hell having no fury... ***
Picking up where we left off, Colby and Theo are running from Sanctum, Theo's brother they once believed to be dead. Turns out, not so much. He is alive and well and wreaking havoc on the Lucent’s. While on the run, both Colby and Theo realize that they are getting weaker, Colby more so. With a little help from some new friends and protectors, they go in search of what is slowly wasting her away. Will they be able to discover what is killing her before it is too late? Only the story’s end will tell.
Sacrifice is the name of the game with this final book of the series. Everyone is this story gives up something. And it is way more than a lot of us would do. My heart broke so many times. And at one point I wasn’t sure if it would be mended back together. I feared so much and wasn’t sure if the author was going to fix it. It really had me on the edge of my seat and had me imagining a future without some characters. I couldn’t fathom it.
And romance. Just when you think there wouldn’t be a whole heck of a lot (when you are slowly withering away, that tends to not be top priority) there is a scene that rocked me to my core. Yes, I doubted Felix for a short moment in time. And that will definitely be the last time. I should have known there was romance hidden somewhere for us readers to relish in. Even if it was the bittersweet kind.
But the storyline and all the juiciness that springs forth from the pages of this book is what kept me coming back time and time again when I had to step away from it. And unfortunately, with my life lately, it was quite a bit. But I finished it and I loved it. So much happens in this steady paced, suspenseful read. 5 Stars!!
This is the last book in The Lucent series by Lila Felix and finishes up Theo & Colby's story.
I have to admit that I felt the beginning of the book was a bit slow and it took me a while to get back into the flow of the story. I'm normally very good at remembering what happened at the end of the previous book, especially if it's only been a few months since I last read it, but I did find myself a bit confused with captain parts of the story right at the beginning. I hate when an author goes over everything that happened in the previous books in the first chapter, but do appreciate when they give a very brief recap through what is currently happening in the book. Lila Felix did not do that at all, which I think it could of benefited from due to the complex story. Therefore I would recommend that you have just read Lightning Sealed, or re read it before starting this book.
However despite that I did enjoy this book and felt that it finished the story nicely and answered all my questions. There were a lot more POV in this book than just Theo, Colby & Sanctum. I loved that we got more from Collin, and even Ari, who added some light heartedness into what was an emotional story. Be warned that this book may make you cry, as it definitely did me, but I love a story that tugs on the heart strings and makes you wonder what will happen next, which this one did.
If you haven't started The Lucent series yet then I strongly recommend you do as they are beautiful books and a great concept of a story. They make me wish that I was a Lucent and could flash like Colby to anywhere in the world, unfortunately that's not going to happen so I'll just have to live my dreams through re reading this series. Enjoy travelling into this world and meeting Colby, Theo, Ari and Collin as you won't regret it.
Lightning Forgotten was absolutely incredible. Lila Felix continues to set the bar high when it comes to her books and with this conclusion to the Lucent series I'd have to say this could be her best yet.
This last installment featured many point of views and each was crucial to the story. A story that packs quite the punch. The impending doom that seems to be imminent is felt throughout. With Colby falling ill and slowly fading away, Theo becomes the Eidolon he was destined to be and sets out to make things right. Not only for the love of his life but for the entire population of Lucents and their families.
I was overcome with emotion many times over. War had been waged and I had to put the book down at 80 percent because I wasn't sure how I felt if things wouldn't turn out for the best. Theo's brother Torrent, at the crux of the pain being felt throughout the Lucent world, proved a formidable opponent and I wasn't sure I could handle their ultimate face-off.
I was immediately drawn to these characters as I began book 1, Lightning Kissed. As one of my first forays into the pnr world, I wasn't sure this saga would be for me. I am happy to say once again, that I was pleasantly surprised and that in the end, love no matter if you have super powers or not, is love. This series is filled with joy and respect. The feisty Colby made me laugh and the adoration felt by Theo for his mate was evident throughout.
Ari, Collin, Sway, Malynn and many others contributed to this wonderful journey. I was fully immersed into their world and was sad to see it end.
A beautifully-written story of hope and a love simply meant to be.
Well worth your time, I encourage you to give this trilogy a chance.
This is the third and the final book in the Lucent series.
We start where we left off in Lightning Sealed, them running from Sanctum. Theo and Colby have an important task in front of them...get rid of Sanctum before he destroys everyone.
“There. Finally.” Theo stepped in front of me. “Let me go check it out. What if it’s not safe?” I kissed the back of his neck. “Then we’ll protect each other.”
Colby has been getting weaker and weaker, but she just assumed it was from all the flashing and trying to stay one step ahead of Sanctum. Unfortunately something is seriously wrong with her but no one can figure out what...
Poor Theo has so much on his shoulders, between trying to be the Eidolon and trying to save Colby he is beyond stressed.
I slammed my fists down on the table in front of me, unwilling to accept her words at face value. It couldn’t be true. This wasn’t the way it was supposed to work. I was supposed to figure all of this shit out and fix it.
It was great seeing Colin and Ari playing a big role in this one along with some new people that I really enjoyed. There were times where my heart was beating fast because I waiting to see what was going to happen next.
Will Theo be able to save Colby? Will he be able to stop Sanctum? Will they get their HEA or will everything end with Sanctum winning?
I love how much Theo and Colby love each other and how they'd both do anything to save the other no matter the consequences. This was a great ending to the Lucent series, and Theo and Colby's story!
Lightning Forgotten by Lila Felix is the third book in the Lucent Series.
In this story, Theo and Colby are on the run from Sanctum. They find themselves in the dessert and run into some unexpected friends. Colby is getting sicker everyday and no-one knows why.
They are soon joined by their friends Colin and Ari to help them in try to find and defeat Sanctum.
Things are becoming dire and Colby finally comes up with a solution, but the consequences may be too much to bare.
It took me a minute to figure out what was going on in this story. I haven’t read the first two books yet. I recommend you do or you will be lost like I was.
After the first couple of chapters, I started figuring out what was going on and the story became really interesting. I became invested in the characters and the outcome of their lives.
The storyline is clean and refreshing. You can tell the characters love each other, but the intimacy is kept at a strict G rating.
I’m looking forward to reading the first two books.
Lightning Forgotten Wow, what an ending. I was so excited, I can't say because it would be a spoiler. Lula writes with such knowledge of history, I even learned a few things I didn't know. Great series and fast read. Kudos Lila. 5 stars
The conclusion of the Lucent Series by Lila Felix does not disappoint. We continue to roll along with Colby and Theo. This book is full of surprises and we begin to wonder at a point if our main characters will survive the experience. I loved where it went and how it turned out. A great read.
Can't say I'll forget anytime soon. Loved this series! Nary a cuss word or any detailed sex, but OMG, I didn't notice til I read the cute as heck acknowledgment at the end with the 'clean teen' comment. Excellent!
