Detektiv šéfinspektor Gunnarstranda vede vyšetřování případu policisty Ivara Killiho, který byl v civilu zastřelen. Při zběžné obhlídce jeho bytu najde fotoaparát a v něm kontroverzní snímky velmi mladé dívky. Odnese ho na policejní ředitelství a uloží do zásuvky, ze které ale zakrátko materiál zmizí, stejně jako počítač z Killiho bytu... Policejní vyšetřovatel Frølich zatím pracuje na oddělení, které se zabývá pohřešovanými osobami, a aktuálně vyšetřuje případ zmizelého advokáta s pohnutým rodinným osudem. Gunnarstranda postupně nachází souvislosti mezi oběma zdánlivě nesouvisejícími případy

De moord op een politieman en de verdwijning van een advocaat. Twee verschillende zaken die niets met elkaar te maken hebben. Op het eerste gezicht. Want naarmate het onderzoek op beide zaken vordert, blijkt dat er toch een verband is. Aan onder andere de inspecteurs Gunnarstranda en Frölich de taak om beide op te lossen.

Dit gebeurt in een vlot tempo. De korte hoofdstukken, en dat vind ik persoonlijk altijd aangenaam, zijn hier zeker debet aan. Daardoor is Wraakengel een erg prettig leesbaar boek.

De verhaallijn van het boek is goed, ondanks de verschillende zaken die opgelost moeten worden. Op bepaalde momenten heeft het verhaal wat onverwachte wendingen en de spanning is goed opgebouwd. Wat ik ook goed vond is dat het eind niet afgeraffeld, en daardoor wat goedkoop aandoet, is.

Al met al vind ik Wraakengel een goed geschreven boek en zeker een aanrader voor de liefhebber van Scandinavische schrijvers.

Questo romanzo richiede attenzione, poiché i personaggi sono numerosi e la trama é fitta di tante vicende che s'intrecciano. Thriller denso di corruzione, segreti, interessi, vendette...impossibile annoiarsi!
L'interessante l'intreccio di pressioni psicologiche che si sovrappone alla storia "gialla" vera e propria e a una bella tecnica di scrittura generano un vibrante effetto di attesa e curiosità.

Lungo ma scorrevole, storia consistente e molto ben raccontata, senza fronzoli ma con tutto ciò che serve per comprendere al meglio ogni situazione e ogni personaggio.
Unico neo, se lo si vuole considerare tale, potrebbe essere ambientato ovunque: manca un po' di localizzazione.

Yes, I read it in translation but ... it kept me spellbound till the very last, surprising turn. Only regret, I didn't start the series with Gunnarstranda and Frolich with the first thriller. On the other hand: have to read all the previous ones and those that follow, right?

Primo approccio a questo autore e devo dire che non sono rimasta ne entusiasta ma nemmeno delusa.

Partiamo col dire che questo è stato uno dei casi più complicati che io abbia letto. Veramente ben intrecciato e nonostante non mi abbia intrigato particolarmente riconosco che c'è del talento dietro e delle belle idee. La situazione è ben strutturata e una cosa che ho particolarmente amato all'interno della narrazione è il rapporto dei due protagonisti, divertente, ironico che porta leggerezza in un caso pesante e cupo. (D'altronde è una caratteristica degli autori nordici metterci molti elementi noir dentro i loro gialli)

Nonostante il libro sia scritto bene e il caso ideato sia ben strutturato e pensato, non è riuscito a intrigarmi a sufficienza e non mi ha stupito particolarmente.
Una nota abbastanza negativa che mi ha fatto abbassare il punteggio è stata quella dei personaggi. Troppo antipatici, mi hanno fatto pesare molto alcune parti e hanno secondo me contribuito alla pesantezza della lettura.

Tuttavia non mi sento di sconsigliarlo, per gli amanti dei gialli è sicuramente un buon caso, particolare e ben scritto. Questo autore è molto bravo e si vede che non si limita a scrivere di un caso, ma sa descrivere bene tutto il contesto intorno ad esso.

Ristiriitainen lukukokemus. Toisaalta tarina tempaisi aika hyvin mukaansa, mutta samalla kirjailijan tyylissä oli varsin runsaasti ärsyttäviä piirteitä. Henkilöt olivat kautta linjan erittäin epämiellyttäviä tyyppejä, ja erityisesti naiset olivat todella kamalia.
