USA Today Bestselling author, Lynne Marshall, used to worry she had a serious problem with daydreaming until she realized she was supposed to write those stories. A late bloomer, Lynne came to fiction writing after her children were nearly grown. Now she explores the mysteries of life through endearing characters in unexplainable situations. Women's Fiction for women of a certain age and everyone who loves their feisty nana. At the heart of every book is a true love story.
HIS PREGNANT SLEEPING BEAUTY by author Lynne Marshall is a Harlequin, Mills & Boon Medical Romance series release for June 2016.
Paramedic Joseph Matthews finds and rescues pregnant Carey Spencer. Despite all his previous trust issues, he finds himself pulled towards Carey. He wants to be there for her and her baby. He wants to keep her safe. Will he succeed in keeping her safe as well as giving them what they need and deserve?
HIS PREGNANT SLEEPING BEAUTY is a sweet romance that would make a reader reach for tissues multiple times. Author Lynne Marshall brought out the shimmering emotions in this story that would keep a reader hooked to the pages until the end. And she did a wonderful job of bringing Joseph and Carey together despite all the emotional baggage and past grief they carried.
Sometimes, it so happens that when a person is not made for you, things will go wrong. However you may want them to be otherwise. The same is true for Joseph and Carey.
Joseph married a woman but she was not the one meant for him.
Carey was having a baby with a man but he was not the one meant for her.
Meeting in strenuous conditions, Joseph's could not help but feel responsible for Carey and her baby and she starts depending on him to be there for her and the baby.
A very sweet story where even thought the hero wants to be all macho and always be there to save his woman, he makes sure that she knows self-defense because that is how life is. He can't be always there.
Emotionally stirring, sensually mesmerizing and beautifully written, His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty by Lynne Marshall will keep you engrossed until the end. This is a story that will pull at your heartstrings. The tension between Joseph Joe Matthews and Carey Spencer is evident on the page as their past haunts their present day life. They recreate their past pain every chance they get. I cannot give away much of the plot without baring the essence of this intensely consuming story. But I will say this: would you be willing to put your trust in a stranger if you’ve been abused and been hurt by loved ones in your past? Keep this question in mind if you think about giving this story a try. Because, this is what His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty is about—putting yourself out there even though you want to hide away in your shell.
The emotional issues in the sixth book of The Hollywood Hills Clinic continuity are often poignant and definitely realistic. From anguish causing situations in the past to current complex problems, the two main characters face challenges that keep them from having a normal relationship, and I was completely drawn into their lives from the very beginning. Lynne Marshall has created such engaging individuals for her story, where hearts are on the line and feelings are conflicted. HIS PREGNANT SLEEPING BEAUTY is an enchanting romance where wishes just might come true if chances are taken.
His job as a paramedic plus owner of several ambulances lets Joseph Matthews aid those in need, and working for The Hollywood Hills Clinic has turned his business into a thriving career. On the night that he witnesses a woman being attacked, he uses all his training to make certain she recovers from being knocked out. With no one else to help her, Joe feels duty-bound to be the person watching over her until she comes out of a coma. Learning she is pregnant makes the compassionate paramedic even more determined to be there when she awakens. While he has not let any woman get close to him since the unfaithfulness of his wife, there is something about Carey Spencer which causes him to deeply care about her well-being.
When it comes to her immediate future, Carey has few choices. So she is very appreciative for all the assistance Joe unselfishly gives her. Worry over her child may have initially led her to trust the man who has gone out of his way to help many times. Although unspoken, it soon becomes apparent that how Joe and Carey see one another is more than just friends.
If I happened to be in Hollywood and was injured, I really hope the paramedic sent to check on me would have Joe’s nature. He is so concerned about the needs of other people, and anyone under his care is extremely lucky. His protective side is evident from the instant he comes in contact with Carey, and how he takes an interest in her future welfare is commendable, especially when being around her causes lots of bad memories to surface. With the author’s skilled writing, I was able to get insight into his thoughts and know exactly how he felt at any given time. He is certainly not looking to be in a relationship anytime soon, but the honest responses of Carey might possibly sneak past the wall he has built around his heart.
Lynne Marshall always lets her readers experience the circumstances in the lives of her characters to the fullest, and the occurrences in HIS PREGNANT SLEEPING BEAUTY are some of her most compelling yet. Carey has been through a traumatic incident, and I enjoyed seeing how she tried to move forward in her life and not sit around feeling sorry for herself. I think her positive outlook helped this couple to form a connection from the first, as small things brought her much joy. I could not help but smile at the pleasure she received from a simple meal. Like many romances, Ms. Marshall takes her couple on a journey of highs plus lows, and I am so glad for the chance to go through it with Joe and Carey. HIS PREGNANT SLEEPING BEAUTY is constantly stirring because of intense emotions.

This is a beautifully written emotional journey to such a gorgeous HEA for two people who have been hurt badly and are both reluctant to start a relationship one more than the other.
Joseph Joe Matthews is a paramedic who owns the company that has the contract at the exclusive Hollywood Hills Clinic he does love his job he is such a caring person and comes from a loving big family that he would one day like to have himself but he has been hurt badly by his ex-wife and best friend and also has a worry that he keeps to himself, but when he sees a woman get of a bus and then get mugged there is a need to help and protect will this mystery woman help Joe realize that he can have a happy life ?
Carey Spencer is on the run from an abusive partner she has taken off on the first bus leaving her home town ready to make a new start for herself and her unborn baby she is a nurse and a very caring person she has no close family and is on her own, but when she gets of the bus in Los Angeles her life is about to change forever she is mugged and ends up in a coma at the Hollywood Hills Clinic and when wakes three days later Jane Doe has a knight in shinning armour to look after her.
This is a magical story that will make you smile as MS Marshall again draws us in with her fabulous stories of love and the caring her heroes and heroines bring to the pages Joe and Carey have a lot to overcome from their pasts and it is not an easy path but a path that they conquer in such a beautiful way. Both crave family and this they can give to each other I do highly recommend this story you will not want to put it down this is book 6 in The Hollywood Hill Clinic series that is fabulous.
Author Lynne Marshall has once again created two memorable characters: a paramedic hero who has suffered the worst betrayal and a young unwed mother who has been abused both physically and emotionally by her baby's father. Nurse Carey Spencer runs away from her abusive lover when he offers her the money to abort their baby and soon becomes a victim again when she is mugged. Paramedic Joseph Matthews rescues her and then becomes her protector when he discovers that this beautiful woman who has been left in a coma is also pregnant. He stays by her side as she recovers and then continues to offer support even though her pregnancy reminds him of his ex-wife's betrayal and revives the hurt of learning he will never father his own child. Carey is immediately drawn to this amazing hero but Joseph is very hesitant to let her into his heart.
This is a sweet story that allows us to witness the growth of trust and love between two people who have experienced deep hurts. 'His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty' gives us a glimpse of past hurts and betrayals; the reality of abusive relationships; the fear of allowing yourself to trust again and the glimmer of hope that true love is always attainable. This a book that you will remember!
I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty by Lynne Marshall Paramedic Joseph Matthews is at the right spot at the right time. He notices a woman that has just gotten off the bus being attacked for her bag and something possibly worse. Joseph goes to rescue her and gets slices in the process by her would be assailant. He does not manage to stop the theft of her bag but he does rescue the female. Joseph is a divorced man and he has bitterness thanks to his memories. However he vows to be there for the female who has now been left in a coma. Carey Spencer has her own story to tell and she was for sure in the wrong place at the wrong time. She is pregnant and running away from the baby’s father and now has no identity other than Jane Doe and Joseph calls her the Sleeping Beauty. When she came to she immediately asked if her baby was okay and when she got the word that yes the baby was fine she had tears in her eyes and also so did Joseph. Lynne Marshall is a wonderful author who can capture you from the start of the book and right up until the last word is written. This showed there are bad people and good people; there are people that should never be a dad and some that should be. It is a wonderful story and deserves more than 5 stars.
Lynne Marshall has a way with words that wraps you up in the life of her characters and takes you along for the ride with them as they travel the ups and downs of life and happily ever after!
Carey Spencer finds herself vulnerable, pregnant and alone in the beginning of this story, and almost immediately walks right into danger!
Paramedic Joseph Matthews is at the right place at the right time to come to Carey's aid and get her medical treatment as soon as possible. He sits by her bedside just waiting for this beautiful woman to open her eyes and tell him she's okay. Though his life has been in an upheaval due to his ex-wife's betrayal, he's not the type of man that can turn his back on a woman in need, so he offers Carey all the help she needs to get settled back on her feet after she wakes up.
Neither Carey nor Joe can ignore the attraction they feel for each other. They try to fight it, but it just won't go away. Can this wayward woman be the answer to healing Joe's heart? And will this good-hearted paramedic show Carey that there are men out there that you can truly trust?
Joe, owner of the ambulance service that is contracted to Hollywood Hills, meets a beautiful Jane Doe. Unfortunately it's during a mugging and she's knocked out. Joe can't explain what makes him stay by her side when she's in her coma but when she comes to he learns she's pregnant and is escaping her violent partner. Offering Carey a place to stay seemed natural and so begins a wonderful story about two people offered a second chance a life, love and hope.
The reason I really like Lynne Marshall's stories are because she writes with depth and plots that are not always the norm in this genre but has the ability to do so in such a way I find myself slowly, surely and very softly drawn into the heart of the story. Joe with his heartbreaking story, Carey with her baby and the two of them growing closer and closer – something has to give.
His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty is a fantastic addition to a wonderful series. I enjoyed both Joe and Carey and I was very very interested to see how the happy ever after was going to pan out. Coupled with Lynne's depth of writing I really really enjoyed this read.
A story about two people who for different reasons are very distrustful. Carey Spencer is pregnant and on the road to escape her abusive relationship with the hope of starting over. Joseph Matthews spends his life as a paramedic taking care of people in trouble, just not the trouble Carey is in. When he sees her attacked and her purse stolen it is only natural he goes to her aid. However she is badly hurt and in a coma and he feels for some reason he must stay involved and try to help her. Getting involved is not easy for him as he was betrayed by his ex wife and trust is hard won by him but there is something about her that makes him feel he has to try to help her. Ms. Marshall has put two deeply wounded people in a no pun intended crash site with each other. You will fall in love with Joseph, and the love Carey has for her unborn child is something every women can appreciate. This book will pull you in and wrap itself around your heart and you will enjoy the ride that Joseph and Carey take to their HEA.
Carey Spencer had never felt so alone as she got off the bus in Hollywood. Joseph Matthews was on a night shift for the Hollywood Hills Clinic. He was on an ambulance from the company he owned. Joe and Benny were taking a break when Joe witnessed a guy grab a lady that just got off the bus and pull her into an alley. He took off to help the lady. The guy finally gets her purse and punches her and she falls to the pavement unconscious. He comes at Joe and gets a punch in then pulls a knife. Joe felt the burn but he has a patient to look after. He gets approval from James Rothsberg to bring her to the Clinic instead of taking her to the hospital. Joe has never seen a more beautiful woman and in spite of being of being leary of women, he vows to protect her.
Lynne Marshall rights very authentic medical romances. She always has strong characters and believable medical incidences. I always know I am going to enjoy her books and can't wait to start one. I hate to see the ending of a great story!
"His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty" by Lynne Marshall is part off the series called 'The Hollywood Hills Clinic' and can be read as part of the series or as a read alone. Paramedic Joseph (Joe) Matthews is grabbing a bite to eat with his partner when a tour bus pulls up and off steps Carey Spencer. She's wearing shades, even though it is at night, and promptly gets attacked and mugged. Joe chases her assailant but he gets away and Carey is left unconscious on the ground after hitting her head. When they transported her to he closest hospital 'Hollywood Hills Clinic' they find that not only is she bruised prior to the mugging but that she is also pregnant. .....Such a wonderful story. I loved it.
His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty by Lynne Marshall’s is book six in The Hollywood Hills Clinic series. I loved Joseph and Carey from the opening scenes. Joseph is fearless as he takes on Carey’s attackers. He doesn’t know Carey from Adam but he becomes her protector and I absolutely loved that characteristic from the start. Carey is apprehensive and doesn’t want to rely on him as she settles into her new life. Can they overcome their pasts for a chance at a happily ever after? Lynne Marshall has a way that draws the readers into her emotionally charged books. She never disappoints. I highly recommend His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty. I’d like to disclose that I received a copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Lynne Marshall has done it again! His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty is another winner. It is part of The Hollywood Hills Clinic series. The book revolves around Joe the paramedic and Carey, a pregnant patient he rescues at the begining of the book. Of course the are the usual twists and turns along the way. But will Joe win Carey's heart in the end?
This might be one of my favorite books by Lynne Marshall. I was instantly captured up in this book. The descriptions were so picture perfect, I felt like I was seeing a movie in my mind, not just reading words on the pages. I would love my own Joe, what a great guy! I definitely recommend this book.
A truly sweet, uplifting, beautifully designed inspirational story about redemption and discovery of one self-awareness ❤️ 💖
Joe Matthew was literally and genuinely relatable and realistically kind in helping Cary Spencer get her life together, wholeheartedly. He helped her renew her self-esteem, taught her self defense, got her a job, help her with her pregnancy, gave her a place to live, etc. He not only showed her that there are good people in the community but she was brilliant and can be proud of herself, accomplishments.
Salvare una donna sconosciuta aggredita da un malvivente cambierà la vita del paramedico Joe Mattew. Una storia carina e piacevole da leggere, romantica e anche molto dolce.
To begin with I recently ran across the many books in the Harlequin Medical Romance books that I was unaware of so I have been on a reading frenzy soaking in as many as possible. In all but three of them I have been quite disappointed.
The main problem in each one of these, even the three I loved, was the repetition of whatever is ailing or hurting the main characters.
In this book we got to hear and hear and hear again about our hero who basically wouldn't allow himself to heal and move on with his life after his ex-wife cheated on him. He didn't find this out until five months into the pregnancy when he received some fertility tests results that had been lost or misplaced and found out he was sterile. They had been trying for a year to conceive so the doctor ordered fertility workups. Since they never heard back they each assumed everything was okay. So upon receiving this news he knew immediately the child his wife carried was not his and to make matters worse his best friend was the child's father. That nearly destroyed him as it would anyone, but he continually let it affect every area of his life two years later. It seemed we heard about this in every chapter and some chapters multiple times.
Had I known this story had a main character that was having fertility issues, sterility specifically, I would have never read it and it could certainly be a trigger for many people.
So in all the books I have read from Harlequin Medical Romance there is so much redundancy throughout the books that by the time I'm at the halfway point I just pray for it to be over quickly and put me out of my misery. First, I don't like hearing the same thing over and over. It is a waste of my time and insults my intelligence. Secondly, it makes me wonder if the authors think we are so simple minded that we didn't get it by the twentieth time they told us. And thirdly, it makes me wonder if the authors can't come up with anything worthwhile to share with us causing them to wash, rinse, and repeat...and repeat...and heaven help us, repeat again. That is not an exaggeration either.
I liked the story line and it could have been a very special book but it so missed the mark. I guess I just don't understand why situations have to be drummed into our heads every other page. I do continue to read the medical romances by Harlequin because I ran across a couple of gems among the many. I think from now on if the redundancy continues in other books they will become a Did-Not-Finish.
I'm sorry because many liked this book but I cannot personally recommend it. I don't like finishing a book and then for the rest of the day into the next I feel upset and frustrated.
Lynne Marshall writes compelling contemporary romantic fiction, and her storytelling is a reader's treat. "His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty" is part of "The Hollywood Hills Clinic Series"--an inside look at the royalty of the entertainment world. What I so enjoyed about this book was the perspective from the hero's point of view--it really enhanced the emotional aspects of the story. Joseph Matthews, owner of a paramedic service, took pride in his work with the prestigious Hollywood Hills Clinic. While the clients were celebrities with a roster of news-worthy issues, the clinic itself was top-notch all the way, with an elite medical team providing the highest quality care. On one of his night-shift runs, Joe comes to the aid of a young woman who is being attacked. He scares off the assailant, but not before sustaining a knife wound to the ribs. The young woman had taken a serious fall and was unconscious--and she was also bearing bruises from previous abuse. Joe watches over his "sleeping beauty" in her room at the clinic, and he is stunned to learn that she is pregnant. When Carey Spencer finally wakes up in unfamiliar surroundings, it takes a while to get her bearings, but her relief that her baby is safe helps her to remember what has happened. On the run from an abusive relationship, Carey took a bus to anywhere just to get away. Even though Joe has serious trust issues from the betrayal that destroyed his marriage, he finds himself offering Carey a place to stay in his own home. With the clinic staff vouching for him, Carey puts aside her doubts and takes him up on his offer. As Joe and Carey get to know each other, an attraction grows, but Joe is very much one of the walking-wounded, and he tries to put up barriers between himself and Carey. He also has a very personal secret which makes him reluctant to let his heart be vulnerable again. With so many difficult circumstances to overcome, can Joe and Carey let love find its way into their lives? "His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty" is an involving romantic tale, with a realistic portrayal of two people who had to hit an emotional rock-bottom before they each found new hope for happiness.
Ms. Marshall delivers another warm, empowering, and entertaining book set in the heart of Los Angeles. Her hero, Joseph, knows what it is to be a man, and with his help, our intrepid heroine comes back from her coma-like state, builds her life back up, and learns how to kickass L.A. style. I loved that Carey really owns her circumstances and doesn't wait for someone to take care of her, even though Joseph is right there as both a friend and a potential new love. A very satisfying ending! The other characters in this world are intriguing and I look forward to checking out the other books in this series.
This story grabbed me from the first paragraph and I didn't want it to let go. Joseph and Carey were destined to be together. Joseph put up a good fight not to fall in love with Carey. He had his heart broken and torn from his chest by his ex-wife and best friend. No matter what Carey had been through with her ex, she fell hard for Joseph. These two finally admitted to loving each other. Loved how it ended. Definitely a five star must read book. Lynne captured my attention from the beginning and it was hard to put down. The best book yet. Can't wait for the next one.
Ahhh. That is what I feel now after reading this incredible heartwarming story. I feel happy and at peace after reading it. Lynne Marshall has managed to fulfill my expectations when I read a true romance. Joe and Carey were amazing and stole my heart. I'm in love with Joe. My heart felt all his emotions.incredible! Gifted by author in exchange for an honest review.
