I have been WAITING for this book from Allison for seemingly forever. I mean, it's only been 8 months, but with me on a cliffhanger just dangling in the wind, it seemed like a lot longer.
First of all, this book is hot. Let's just get this out of the way.
We start where we left off. You need to read book one, Redesigning Fate, for this book to make sense. Marlena is recovering from being kidnapped. Elias is unloading all of his secrets of what 'business' Sin and he are involved in. And the story unfolds from there. I don't want to ruin any part of this wonderful story. If you loved book 1, you will love book 2. And I think you will love book 1!
I spent a good majority of the book wanting to slap Marlena. She cried a lot and ran away too much. But I also wanted to slap Elias some as well. They didn't behave how I wanted them to behave a good majority of the time.
I cannot WAIT for Sin and Shelby's story. I kept asking why their story didn't come first, based on how many details of their love story came out. However, I cannot wait to read it. It sounds like it will be so full of dark angst, I cannot wait to get my hands on it!
Resurrecting Her is book two in The Revive Series and is a Romance, Suspense written by A.M. Wilson. I was gifted a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review through Saints N Sinners.
4.5 Resurrecting Stars! Angsty, Exciting and Sexy! Simply Brilliant!
The Review: What a thrill ride! I loved this read. There were so many questions left from the first book, answers that I needed from the story and this book delivered them in spades, along with a well designed plot, a satisfying story and a sexy romance.
Resurrecting Her had so many twists, so many turns and there was danger lurking everywhere. Secrets were exposed, truths revealed and so much going on that there was never a dull moment.
Elias was a mystery in the first book and it wasn’t until the end that we started to get defining clues as to who he really was. His actions spoke of a sincere man but there were secrets all around him. In this book, Elias is completely revealed and wow, if I thought I liked his character before, I found I absolutely loved him in this book. He shined at every turn! He was determined to protect and heal Marlee. He was the quintessential alpha bad boy I love in romance books. He was sweet and caring and completely devoted to what he loved. He was intense but his tenderness for Marlee, along with the patience he had for her and the absolute conviction that he’d always be there for her and be her safe guard was so well written!
Marlee thought she was broken but she had a hidden strength in her that was undeniable. I enjoyed her character so much in this book. In the first book, I felt she was a little too quick to fly off the handle, a little too immature, but the author gave her real substance and depth in this book. She had some very tough obstacles to get through and with the friendships she had cultivated and her solid relationship with Elias, she had the foundation and backing to find herself and get past those scary, hard obstacles.
Sin and Shel were again, such great side character. I hope we get their inside story one day.
And Travis. Where do I start with this guy. We finally get the answers for his character and for why he was the way he was. I said in my review of the first book that I wanted to know how Travis became the way he was because I could see tiny glimpses of light in him that might have cast out the darkness if only his past and his upbringing were different. But he was never fully explained. In this book, it’s all revealed and what a tragic life Travis had. My heart broke for the abused, tortured, innocent little boy he had been and as damaging as it was and as much as I understood where his darkness came from, it still didn’t make me feel for the brutal, loathsome man he’d become. He invoked so much feeling and anger inside me and that’s credited to the amazing way the author wrote him.
A.M. Wilson really found her stride with this book. The writing was amazing!
I really enjoyed this read. It was intense, exciting, angsty, steamy-sexy and thrilling. A must read!
I think Elias cares more for his friends, Sin and Shelby than the heroine. I almost feel like he would have a threesome with Sin and Shelby if they offered.
It was okay. A month later and I already forgot about what the story was about. You may love it.
Love. Angst. Suspense. Resurrecting Her had it all and more! Whoa! What a phenomenal, mind blowing conclusion to Marlena and Elias story! Wilson outdid herself with this one! The torture that Marlee endured. The turmoil that Elias went through. It was all heartbreakingly and beautifully written.
This story picks up where Redesigning Fate left off. It begins with Marlee reading a passage from Travis' journal and reminiscing about Travis, the man she once loved. About how he isn't the man she thought he was…..and the type of man he's turned in to.
"He wasn't even remotely the man I knew. His past was a chaos of secrets and overgrown lies that years of perfecting deception had groomed. He was an illusion. And I had fallen for it since the first act."
Marlee and Elias seem to finally be happy. After enduring so much in their short relationship already, they deserved it. There were times when Marlee tried to pull away from Elias, out of fear of rejection mostly. Elias stood steadfast and strong, unbreakable in his love for her. He wouldn't give up without a fight.
"I'm not letting you go. You hear me? You can't make me let go. Five minutes ago I got the best glimpse of my Marlee that I've had in a month. She's in there, fighting. Don't think I'll ever give up on trying to resurrect you from the hell he left you in. You're mine and until I'm no longer breathing, that's not going to change."
….SWOON! That, is one of my favorite lines in the whole book! I love Elias and his bad boy, dominate alpha male, but I adore the sweet, sensual, caring, protective side that Marlee brings out in him
…..but it's always calm before the storm. And boy does the storm come blowing through like a hurricane in this book!
There are so many twists and turns! Threats were everywhere! They were on constant high alert. On the lookout for "G's" mean and Travis. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, turning page after page! I.COULDN'T.PUT.IT.DOWN!
We get a glimpse in to the tragic life of Travis as a little boy. We come to understand why he is the way he is and why he does some of the things he does. His childhood is truly heartbreaking. I don't feel for him as an adult. I feel for that little boy. The little boy who had to endure the pain of losing his mother so young. The pain of a little boy who was abused for being a kid. Pain for the man the monsters of his childhood turned him into.
Resurrecting Her was utterly phenomenal! Wilson took me on a emotional, suspense filled ride that I would be happy to jump on again! You don't want to miss this EPIC conclusion to Marlee and Elia's story! I can't wait for Sin and Shel's story, Unleashing Sin! It's bound to be as magnificent as the rest!
A.M. Wilson is a new author to me and I really like her style. This book is filled with all the good stuff – suspense, twists and turns and keep me on the edge of my seat. It was intense and had a good pace and was told from both His POV and Her POV.
We pick up where book 1 left off. Through Travis’ journal we begin to understand what happened in his past and how troubled he really is. Unfortunately for me book 2 was not quite as good as book 1. We do learn what Elias and Alex are working on and that part was really good. What troubled me was Marlena, she was unbelievably messed up – so she is being stalked by an ex and survived a kidnapping, but still insists on sneaking out. And when a mysterious note appears in her car she doesn’t say anything to anyone. That part did not work for me at all. Even though Elias tells her what he does, he still keeps some secrets which was so frustrating. Why would they not talk things through so they could work together to keep her safe?
Some more of my issues were, the comment about the scale reading 152 rather than her usual 148….no woman I know experiences a perfect scale reading 365 days a year. Another one, when she meets Alejandro at 34%. It’s like she has amnesia since Alejandro Gutierrez was explained to her at 7%. And the condom comment 52% (Chap 12) is seriously 180 degrees with what actually happened in book 1 61% (Chap 15). There are more issues, but to reveal them would be spoiling so I can’t reveal them her.
So while I enjoyed the story there were inconsistencies that really should have been caught during editing/beta phase. Overall I am glad we got our HEA, and I would like to still read more of the series.
A note of caution – there is violence and abuse so if those topics bother you, this may not be the right book for you.
*REVIEW STARS* Hero: Elias 4.5 stars – son of a lawyer, who turns out to be a team that rescues women from Alejandro. Heroine: Marlena 3.5 stars – a paralegal who has serious issues with decision making, she really started to bother me with her bad choices. Steam Level:4 stars Plot: 3.5 stars Overall: 4 stars Keys: His POV, Her POV, MF, Dirty Talk, Page Turner, Big Secret, Violence, Troubled Past Cliffhanger: no
I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Resurrecting Her is the second book in the Revive series about Elias and Marlena. The first book, Redesigning Fate, drew me in and I HAD to read Resurrecting Her. This book continued the journey after Marlena was rescued from her kidnapping. Elias is trying to help her heal while still trying to bring down the sex trafficking ring. New information comes to light in this book about new players that are involved. This information rocks Elias’ world. While dealing with her recovery, Marlena discovers something about herself. However, her happiness is short-lived, when Travis finds her and makes her doubt the potential happiness she could have with Elias.
Resurrecting Her is a great conclusion to the Elias and Marlena story. This book delivered action, drama, heart-wrenching sadness, and, of course, the sexy, steamy sex. I loved seeing more of Sin and Shelby and hope that we get to see more of their story soon. Looking forward to more of this series.
Resurrecting Her is the continuation of Redesigning Fate by A.M. Wilson. The author continues to pull you into the story and not put it down until the very end when you know how it ends. Marlena is still reeling from everything that has happened to her and all of the things that she's been told. She doesn't know where to go or what to do. Elias is still trying to do what he does and make sure that Marlena is safe. Will Marlena stop running? Can Marlena and Elias survive everything that has happened and continues to happen? Or, will the couple let everything tear them apart? Once again I was pulled into this story and I did not stop reading until the end and I knew the fate of the people involved. If you have not decided to take a chance on this series, then you are missing out. A.M. Wilson definitely knows how to give the readers a little bit of everything throughout the book. I cannot recommend this series enough!

I gave this book 4.5 stars!
This book continues where book one leaves off. From the start to the end will keep you guessing who will live, die, and what secrets will be revealed. Marlene struggles after her kidnapping, add in the fact that Travis is still on the loose and now Elias secrets coming out she feel like she need to break free from everyone. Elias is trying to protect the Marlene from the shit storm that is happening. With his own family maybe involved takes on a new route. Can all the lies, betrayal and surprises enough for Marlene and Elias to be together?
I absolutely love Elias and by the end of the book I really loved Marlene strength. I can't wait to read Sin and Shelby book. If you haven't already started this series, then you need to.
I couldn't wait to read 'Resurrecting Her' and I have to say it was absolutely AMAZING. I was totally blown away with this book. It had it all, suspense, love, heart ache and action. Twists and turns that had my head in a total spin and had me holding my kindle in death grip till the very last page...
Marlena has survived been held captive but doesn't feel like she will ever be free. All the secrets and lies, she just doesn't know what to believe anymore. Even worse now she has her own secrets, that are tearing her apart..
Elias will do anything for Marlena. She means the world to him. He can't let anything happen to her again..
Can he keep her safe? Or will their secrets tear them apart ?
Can't wait to read more of this series A.M.Wilson <3
Wow. This captivated me from beginning after Redesigning Fate.
We rejoin Marlena, Elias, Shelby, Sin and DJ back at the house from the ending of book Redesigning Fate. We finally find out about Elias and Sin's job. Also learn Shelby's story, and how Sin and Elias saved her.
Will Marlena be able to cope with Elias's job? Will Elias be able to deal with keeping more secrets after telling Marlena part of the truth? Will Marlena be able to keep her secret.
This book is simply amazing. I read it from page one to ending in two hours. You can't help cheer them all on in the mission. I really recommend this story. WTMO.
What an amazing story! Not a minute of boredom found from the first page to the last. I actually read this book, then decided to re-read both Book 1, Redesigning Fate, and this one...I could not put either one down! Very well written, with fully developed characters, and a storyline that is, unfortunately, one that happens to often in real life. A horrendous subject handled with a tremendous amount of insight. Well done! Highly recommend, and waiting for Sin and Holt's stories, and maybe a happy ever after for Carly, and a background on DJ?? Just sayin...
*I received this book in exchange for an honest review! I was hooked on this series after reading book 1. Marlene and Elias are great characters and I love their story. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future!
3.5 stars. Decent storyline but I got fed up with the MC's stupid decisions and all the anger that ensued. Some of the plot points didn't really add up. Also, this series need to be edited better. So many typos it's sometimes hard to make sense of the sentences.
Once again AM Wilson delivers an epic story. The continuation from Redesigning Fate into Resurrecting her was unbelieveable. This book had me on my toes from start to finish and I honestly could not put the book down. I mean could Elias get any any hotter?!?! The twists and turns and the expected moments made this book such a page turner! Marlena still has her spunk even after everything she has gone through. She still gives as good as she gets when it comes to Elias and does not back down demanding answers from him. And what happens is totally unexpected. Elias is still totally alpha and wanting to protect what is his. He is one fierce man. More so when things he never thought could happen did and left him a little lost. Overall this book flowed amazingly and kept me guessing. I love Wilson's way of writing and everything about this series. The character build. The twists and turns. The closure for Marlena and Elias. If you haven't picked up these books, I highly recommend them. They have just the right amount of steam to go with the intrigue to keep you on your toes and blow your mind away!
Oh WOW what a ending to a fabulous book... I loved this just as much at the first one.. This pretty much picks up where book 1 left off.. Marlena is trying to get settled back in after being kidnapped by her Ex.. There were parts in this book I just wanted to strangle Marlena..and Elias for that matter.. Soooo much could have been avoided if they both would have been open and honest about everything.. There were lots of miss-understandings that wouldn't of been issues if as I said they would have talked to each other.. I absolutely loved Sin... and I can ot wait for his and Shelby's book...
This book was full of happy times, action, drama, and absolutely heart-wrenching but I defiantly recommend it. One thing I did find funny and interesting.. and this may be a small spoiler but there is a part when Marlena runs.. for like a month.. but she goes from Minnesota to Iowa... now I was born in Iowa and lived in Minnesota for like 9 yrs then moved back... but one of the towns she talked about was Albert Lea... I lived in in that town for 3 or 4 yrs... IDK I thought it was just neat.
Marlena had a rough time recovering from being kidnapped. She finds herself in the arms of Elias. She has a secret, one of that will turn out good or bad for her. But she runs from Elias because of the uncertainty. That's all she knows is to run instead of facing an issue. She doesn't know anything but lies. That's all she has been told. When Elias learns the truth he uncovers everything she needs to know. She is terrified of Travis, her kidnapper, finding her. Elias wants nothing more than to protect her. But lying isn't the way to do that. He and Sin try to save everyone and every girl. But he needs to save his love for Marlena too. When learns the truth from her best friend he wants nothing more than to find her and show her what love is.
This book was really good. I thought it was better than book one. In book two you will find yourself fearing of the unknown, love and tons of suspenseful moments. Excellent!!!!
An engaging and fast paced read. The finale to Marlena and Elias' story takes us on quite a ride. Wilson continues to build the relationship between these two characters. I enjoyed the sweet moments they shared, the passion, the angst, and their love. There were times that their inability to communicate caused unnecessary drama for themselves and it could be a bit frustrating. That being said, they have grown in so many ways, both individually and as a couple.
The faced paced storyline was full of action and a number of twists and turns. Wilson has us on the edge of our seat, waiting to see what is going to happen next. I enjoyed the way in which she pieced the story together; offering us details that ultimately led to more questions. As the story unfolds, she creates interesting connections between different aspects of the story, leaving me completely engaged and racing to finish.

Five Fantastic Stars! This is the second book in the Revive Series and should be read in order to fully understand the story. The story picks up where we left off at the end of book one of Marlena and Elias's story. Marlena was recently rescued from her kidnapping and Elias is trying to bring down the trafficking ring. Travis finds Marlena and she is unsure if she will ever be happy. Can Marlena find her happiness with Elias or will Travis always be making her look over her shoulder? This book is a fantastic conclusion to Marlena and Elias's story and I will definitely be looking for more by Ms. Wilson. The story is full of drama, suspense, twists and turns, and of course romance. I highly recommend it!
I received this book as a ARC for an honest review. This book was read and reviewed by Annamaria for Alpha Book Club.
Exceptional, emotional ending to Marlee & Elias's journey. These two have a long road to get to their HEA, can they make it or are there new troubles on the horizons? I was on the edge a lot of times, this was always up, never a dull moment. We get more of Travis's background, & it was definitely tragic. And even though he is one demented dude, I felt for him; there was one scene that just ripped me to shreds, he finally proved just how much & how far he was willing to go for Marlee. And I'm a massive lover of epilogues, & this one was phenomenal. Elias, what can you say about the guy, he was massively protective of his lady & still super sexy. It was great seeing him in action ;) Now, Sin & Shelby's story, & this is going to be a roller coaster!!
I was left wondering where this book could possibly take me when I finished book one. I wondered what more to the story there could be. This book is full of even more secrets and danger than I had imagined. The twists and turns in this story kept coming from all directions. As I slowly got answers to some things, a few more questions appeared. although pieces start to fit into place in this book, they were totally unexpected. The bad didn't seem as bad. The unexpected past that blurred into the present also brought so much more to light. I don't think I could have asked for more in this book. If you haven't picked up this series, there's no time like the present to do so. With the eventful plot twists and explosive characters, this is a series to read.

Another great book following Lena and Elias troubles facing both the Travis and Elias day Job. The darkness of human trafficking and following the pathology of a stalker who feels he is in the right makes A.M Wilson not afraid to go where a lot of authors won't. Of course this series also has a great selection of secondary characters Alexander Sinclaire in my opinion is one of the most rounded and intriguing charter written. He may be broken and so dangerous but he also has morals that make him intreguing. He's known loss and fights to get rid of the scumbags of society whilst loving a person who has been through pretty much the worst things that can happen.
