Carrington

She doesn’t talk.

How the hell am I supposed to trust the life of my child to a woman who won’t talk? I’m paying thousands of dollars to Gray Wolf Security to protect my child from potential kidnappers, and they give me this emotionally broken woman who won’t speak.

Not only that, but she’s so tiny she couldn’t hurt a fly. Well, okay, so she knocked me to the ground. But I’m not a drug lord with a loaded pistol pointed at an innocent child.

Just because she’s beautiful and she has these curves that I can’t seem to get out of my mind doesn’t mean that I’m okay with this situation.

Joss

I haven’t spoken in almost four years. Not since my husband and eighteen-month old baby were killed in a tragic car accident. Because of this, I have only one rule about the cases that I’m assigned at Gray Wolf Security…no cases involving children.

Yet, when Ash asked me to protect an eight-year old girl—and by default her father—I can’t tell him no.

Note: JOSS is the third book in the Gray Wolf Security series. You can read it on it's own, but it is highly recommended that you read DONOVAN and DAVID too :)

The h lost her husband and little boy and the H lost his wife. When the h asked him if hes still in love with his wife he says yes in a way he will always love her.
To me both MCs are second best to each other since she too still love the husband. The only good thing about this book was the he was celibate for 6 years since the wife died 8 years ago he slept with someone 1 or 2 years after his wife's death and the h was celibate for 4 years her husband died 4 years ago.

This series was offered as a 5 book bundle and a kindleunlimited, so I decided, why not. I was originally going to write separate reviews for each book, but I've decided not to, and here's why: Every single book in this bundle felt almost identical. They had the same exact formula. All the characters felt the same, they reacted to situations the same etc. Very generic overall. I'd rate most of the books in this series a 2.5 star with the exception of Kirkland. I'm going to rate that book a 1.5 star because the hero was such a manwhore. In other books in the series he was constantly parading around women and screwing them, at times not even knowing their name. Ummm no thanks. By the time I even got to his book I had little interest in his character, but I did complete the book, and still did not feel as if he redeemed himself. I doubt I will read anymore of this writers work. It just felt overly predictable and generic. Cardboard characters and plot. I am glad it was offered on kindleunlimited though.

Could Not Get Through The Last Story

I liked the main story the most. The main characters were two people that were broken by circumstances, but they were able to deal with the world together. Joss is a pint sized dynamo that can take down a man twice her size without breaking a sweat. She needs to break through her painful past to protect Carrington and his small daughter McKelty.
Carrington is doubtful that a small woman like Joss can protect his daughter. All that changes when she lays him out flat. The story has the right amount of suspense, action and romance. There are bonus stories included. The first four stories were good. I just couldn't get through the last one. All the stories flowed nicely, except the last one. Just didn't like it.

Wow....I have been curious about Joss since the very beginning. What’s her story was kind of always been back in my mind. Now that I have read her story I can can’t but more in love with these characters and their lives as one big family who truly love and care for each other!!!!

...Happy Reading!!!!

This book was okay. I like the fact that the series keeps the characters from previous books and it , so that we can catch up on their lives. The characters were okay the storyline was average. It was a good book there was just nothing exceptionable in it .

Joss is the third book in the Gray Wolf Security series by Glenna Sinclair. This is the only book in the series I have read, but was able to enjoy it without having read the others. I think reading the series as a whole would give a better understanding of some of the characters, but does not directly effect the enjoyment of each book on its own.

Joss is a book that takes two wounded adults and tosses them together under trying circumstances. Imperfect characters facing their own issues and each others while coming together to find a happy ending makes for a fun read. Carrington is facing threats to his daughter because of his refusal to take part in illegal dealings. He is desperate to protect her, but is unsure that the willingly mute, and petite, bodyguard is the right fit for his needs. the attraction between the two makes things more complicated- of course. Joss has lost a husband and child, and protects herself through her silence- and avoiding contact with children. That is all thrown out the window when she is assigned this job. I liked that each of these main character has dealt with loss and pain and found a way to keep going. While they each have some serious issue to work through, there is also Carrington's daughter McKelty to worry about and plenty of real danger to face. The danger is real, and comes along more than once with almost consistently high levels of suspense.

Joss is a heavy action and entertaining read. There are shoot outs, running, and some struggle to deal with beyond the emotional and intellectual wounds. While not the very best contemporary romance with suspense that I have read, it was still an entertaining read for a weekend.

3 1/2 srars

After learning about Joss' husband and child being killed in book #1, I expected her book to be one of the most emotional of the series. This was a really good story with lots of suspense, action, intense situations, drama between certain characters, dealing with the cartel, and the surprise twists. It had all the makings to be an outstanding book, but this felt like a tamed version of what could have been. It seemed like it was missing the passion and depth to make it more. Just my opinion. There was definitely an attraction between the main characters, but it didn't feel like anything more than lust and convenience, at least to me.

The main issue I had with this was the inconsistency of Joss's child. In the 1st book where it was describing each operative, it stated that her husband and 6 year old daughter was killed. When this book began, I was confused because I thought she was having a flashback or dream, but it wasn't even about her. Then it's stated later in this book that her husband and 18 month old son was killed?!? That's a huge mistake that should have been fixed prior to releasing the 5 book boxset, which is what I borrowed through KU. I decided to review each book separately since I had different opinions about each one. There were also quite a few editing errors in this book, as well as the first two.

I would still recommend this book, as it was a really good story and an important part of this series.

Joss is hired to protect Carrington and his daughter McKelty from a drug cartel who wants to use Carrington's shipping business illegally. Two issues for Carrington-Joss purposely stopped talking four years ago when her husband and son are killed in a car accident and she doesn't work with children.

Joss and Carrington have a lot of emotional baggage from their previous relationships. They both lost people they love in tragic ways. How they handle their loss was different. Carrington refuses to get emotionally involved with anyone beyond sex. He's happy with his family of two and doesn't see that ever changing. Joss quits talking -I'm sure it was explained but still-it's an odd way to deal with her loss-it also made it difficult to believe she could guard people without ever saying a word. Their love story fell short for me. The lack of chemistry between Joss and Carrington made it challenging to wrap my head around their relationship.

Overall, the story itself wasn't bad, I just couldn't connect with the h/H. However, I did enjoy the other Gray Wolf Security characters enough to pick up other books in the series and give them a try.

I was looking forward to this book from the glances I got of Joss in the previous books. A member of a security team that doesn't speak. Seemed interesting.

She is assigned to protect an eight year old girl. This is an immediate no-no. Joss doesn't mind a hard dangerous assignments, but she does not want anything to do with the protection of a child. Because of the previous books we know she has had tragic loss in her life.

Carrington is McKelty's father. He is unsure that little Joss who doesn't even speak can protect his daughter. Until she drops him LOL. He also has had tragedy in his past and carries around a lot of guilt.

There is action and drama in trying to get the bad guys that are trying to hurt Carrington. We also get to check in with other members of Gray Wolf.

Why 3 stars?? I didn't feel the love. They had hot sex, but I felt that's all it was. I have read books where two people start out with a just sex relationship, but you can literally feel the change to something more. Not these two.

No cheating
HEA

Time heals all wounds

Another great read in this series. After all that Joss has been through, she refuses to take cases where children are involved...with good reason. After loosing her son and husband in a car accident, she's refused to speak ever since. Working with McKelty is hard, she doesn't want to get attached to the little girl, but things with Carrington, McKelty's father, gets hot and she's left wondering if she can handle it. When things get crazy with the people after them, she's only got one thing on her mind, protecting McKelty at all costs. Seeing how she reacts to McKelty is heartbreaking for them both, but watching her attachment to both McKelty and Carrington grow daily is awesome. Can't wait for the next book

I don't have much to say about this one...

I kind of picked this book up, read a bit, and then put it down for a long while before finishing it. A couple reasons why, one of them being a few much anticipated reads had just been published, but also because it began to lose my focus. It was a decently good book overall. I’m glad that Joss began to heal and found her voice again. Seeing her interact with the daughter was equally frustrating and heartbreaking. I wanted to throttle Carrington at several points though, for his insensitivity. Then ending was a little bit anticlimactic… all of a sudden thugs find them, shoot-out, falling-out, kiss and make-up, The End.

Meh...

I was really looking forward to Joss's story, and while it wasn't bad, I didn't love it as much as I hoped. Joss is assigned to protect Carrington and his daughter McKlety (seriously, what kind of a name is that?) after a botched abduction attempt. Both Joss and Carrington had a lot of emotion baggage from their previous marriages. I was hoping the they would really explain why Joss doesn't speak--but apparently she just chose not to. That just doesn't feel believable to me--how can you only talk to EVERYONE through text message? I also felt that Joss and Carrington's relationship was too insta-love to be believable given how their previous marriages ended.

Very impressed to see that these individuals reminded me that even though they are characters in a fictional novel, they have a sense of realism too. Joss choosing to not speak speaks volumes about her strength. Then there's Carrington one of the most loving fathers out there. Unfortunately in this day & age sometimes having morals to stay legit can also get you killed. Thank goodness this is a romance novel & these two characters have already had a ton of death in their lives. They needed happiness for once.

Good read

Another good romance in the Gray Wolf series. Joss is a complicated ex soldier who lost her family in an accident and stopped talking , taking on Charrington and his daughter as a client proves challenging but romance blossoms and love wins through. There are five bonus books included which are all good reads.

This is the third time I've been suckered by this author. I read 15 percent of this book as Joss's story and then found, as before, the remaining 85 percent is part of the billionaire series. While the former is very good, the latter is only average, hence the 3 star rating not something higher. Such a waste!

Joss!

I am really in love with the Gray Wolf Security team. Joss's story was very emotional. Protecting someone else's child helped her overcome her nonverbal state. She was one fierce protector. She was a very strong and well rounded character.

3rd book

The writing is good but all 3 books that I've read in this series so far are almost the same story, just with different names. Not sure if I will continue with the next book or not. I'm am curious as to what happened to Alexi though.

Joss

Enjoyable Gray Wolf Security series. I don't get why? The author insists on tacking on the extra novels in everyone of her novels. The same novels, it would of been great if they were different. The added bonus would off been worthy.

To go through as much as Joss has gone through and still be standing upright??? THAT takes a lot of strength. I love that she doesn't talk... it gives the story a little more... idk... MYSTERY (that's it)!!! And I love the way Carrington is with McKelty.... a doting father!!

wow are these short reads, thankfully all FREE so I can't complain to much but they are so superficial. This author has good story lines but is too ready to print the words "the end" to wrap up a happy ever after, I love you moment.
