Armed with the knowledge of her tragic past, Luke will put his life on the line to keep her alive…but will that be enough to save her?
Heroine Cheyenne Cassidy moves to the Smoky Mountains from Wyoming for a fresh start after the stalker (who was after her) killed her parents and later committed suicide. But suddenly, she starts getting text messages from, what it looks like, her stalker again. Is he dead, or isn’t he? The hero (deputy sheriff Luke Conrad) tries to help Cheyenne find some answers…
This was a really terrific read! It had a horrible, slippery villain who kept getting away from the police. I really liked the main couple. The heroine was very sweet and vulnerable, I felt bad for her and everything she had to go through with this villain. I really did like her profession, a trick rider. (She was performing at the Smoky Mountain Wild Wild West Show). It was interesting and different. She had a lovely horse she worked with called Patches. The hero was great, kind and protective, with his blue eyes and southern drawl. This story takes place around Christmastime.
Shudder. There's something so eerily enthralling about a stalker story and this is one heart-pounding read. I was on edge from the gripping opening scene through the myriad of plots twists to the heart-in-throat climax. Cheyenne has been living the nightmare so long she can't remember what peace feels like. Even a fresh start in a new town can't shake her escalating stalker. Cue the spooky music and plug in your nightlight. The one ray of hope is Luke -- the deputy sheriff determined to put an end to her ordeal once and for all. Their unexpected romance sweetens the story and gives the reader some breathing room from all that stalkerish tension. A real page-turner of a read.
Fantastic story the heroine is being stalked, she thought her stalker was dead but he is back. He killed her parents to punish her now he wants her all to himself. If he cannot have her no one can and that goes especially for the hero.
Stalking Season is by Sandra Robbins. It is a Love inspired Suspense in the Smoky Mountain Secrets series. It is really good and easy to read. It deals with the criminal offense of stalking. Cheyenne Cassidy has come to the Smoky Mountains at Christmas to finally make a new start. She had been the victim of a stalker who had murdered her parents and finally killed himself. With no other family, she took a job with a Wild West show in this small resort town. She and her horse Patches were doing a trick riding routine. She was a three-time winner of the International Women’s Trick Riding Award. She was living at a nearby ranch where she could practice with Patches. They knew of her past with the stalker but few others did. As she is doing some late Christmas shopping, she gets a text from her stalker. He was not dead and his text showed the music box which he had stolen from her bedroom to prove who he was. He described the scarf she was wearing at this time so she knew he was nearby. Terrified, she ran out of the store and into the street where she was hit by a car- a police car. Deputy Sheriff Luke Conrad was the officer who hit her and he immediately went to check on her and call for the EMT’s. Luckily he wasn’t going very fast at all and she was not hurt. After taking her to the police station to get her statement and then after hearing her story, he was intrigued. He was intrigued by her story and wanted to make sure she stayed alive. He was also intrigued by her personally although he had been determined to stay away from women after his experience with an ex. What is it about Cheyenne that intrigues him? Can Luke find the man who is stalking her before something happens to her or to someone she is close to? Who is the stalker and how does he manage to get so close to her to know exactly what she is doing?
This is the second book in the Smoky Mountain Secrets Series. (I could identify with this story as my ex-husband stalked me for several months. I know how Cheyenne felt.) Don't you just love Sandra's work, I know I do. This story is well written, full of action, and faith based. What's not to love? Trick Rider Cheyenne Cassidy moved to the Smoky Mountains after her parents were killed by her stalker. Her stalker killed himself and then left a suicide note. Now before she is even settled in she finds someone is stalking her again. Could this possibly be the same man? Only the deputy sheriff will be able to save now. Deputy Sheriff Luke Conrad is driving down the street when a beautiful woman runs out in front of him. He hits her, jumps out of his car and runs to help her. He finds out that Cheyenne is being stalked. He's convinced that Cheyenne's only hope is to stay and face her stalker before the madman can kill her. Can Luke keep her safe without losing his heart? A journey of two broken individuals, convinced that they have no hope for a future. God has a plan for these two. A plan neither of them dreamed possible. God has a plan for you too. Just give him control and let Him have His way with you.
This book started out with a bang as Deputy Sheriff Luke Conrad actually hit Cheyenne Cassidy with his car outside of a store. Cheyenne is scared out of her mind when she finds out her stalker is back. Before when Cheyenne didn't do what he wanted, he killed her parents, this time he's out to get her. Luke must rise up to the challenge of protecting the pretty trick rider. Can they catch her stalker in time or will they be his next victims?
Cheyenne has had problems with a stalker for several years now, she thought that he was deceased because the police had found a suicide note when they discovered someone had killed her parents and a note was left saying that this gentlemen could not live without her.
This is a really good story that makes you be aware that things like this could happen to just anyone. A really good story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. A must read if you like a good suspense romance
Cheyenne Cassidy is a trick rider in the rodeo. After her parents are killed by a stalker, Cheyenne moves to the Smoky Mountains for a fresh start, performing in a Christmas show. While out shopping, she receives a phone call from the killer saying she is next. Fleeing from the store, she runs into the path of Deputy Luke Conrad's patrol car.
Stalking Season is the second book in the Smoky Mountain Secrets series by Sandra Robbins. This contemporary Love Inspired Suspense is set around the holidays, in the mountains of Tennessee. I liked Luke and Cheyenne. The characters from the first book were nicely incorporated into the story.
SHIVERS!!! This one got me! It starts off creepy and spooky, instantly making you feel like someone is watching you! The action literally begins with a bang and just builds in momentum! The suspense is edge of your seat, gripping, heart-pounding, and totally page turning! As the clues started coming together, I had to keep reading! I had to know who the stalker was! This is the first story I've read by this writer and I like her style! She knows what she's doing! It's the second book in the series but I never felt like I had to read the first one to know what was going on. I loved it!
Cheyenne Cassidy moves to the Smoky Mountains at Christmastime. Cheyenne is trying to escape the horrible memories of losing her parents to a stalker who murdered them. She believed he was dead, but it turns out he is still alive and after her now.
I enjoyed getting to know Cheyenne and her love interest, Deputy Sheriff Luke Conrad. I loved the Smoky Mountains, so it was a great setting for me to read. I also loved the Christmas theme. The story was exciting and suspenseful.
This was a suspenseful story about an obsessive stalker who manages to make life miserable for the main protagonist. I have never read any other books by Sandra Robbins before, but I thought she did a good job of creating an almost scary story. I will look for other books she has written.
This book's storyline was okay. I liked the Christian ✝️ theme in this story. Cheyenne's character was okay. Cheyenne got on my nerves. I liked Luke's character. I liked the ending.
