Such a good book. Jessie was headstrong woman, she wouldn't stop untill she knew what happened to her friend. Josh was there for her, she wanting his help or not and I loved that. Their relationship started rocky because of their families but they saw beyond that and tried to be together no matter what. I liked them together, they were really good for each other

Deadly Dose is the sixth book in the Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations series. I think it could be read as a stand alone novel, however, the reader will understand the relationships and past murders so much better if the earlier books are read in order.

I have enjoyed this series so much and Deadly Dose was a great addition to the other novels. It was packed with danger and suspense! The two main characters were very likable. In Deadly Noel, which was the fifth book in the series, I really did not like Josh. It was great to finally understand him in this book and see what type of man he truly was. Jessie was a wonderful character, too. She had been through so much in her life. It was hard for her to learn to trust Josh and it was nice to see how she was adjusting to life since the last novel.

These two characters found themselves in danger time and again as they tried to determine who was behind all of the crime that their beloved town had been dealing with the last couple of years. The author truly kept me guessing till the very end and I never actually figured out who the villains were. She completely surprised me! I really enjoyed this story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is another great suspense in this series of Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations. We met Jessie Michaels in Deadly Noel. She is the sister of Gabriel Michaels. She is determined to find how who killed her best friend, Mary Lou. When Mary Lou's mom asked Jessie to go through Mary Lou's room to deal with her things, she finds a note in a special hiding place that just the two knew about. It was written to Jessie and gave her clues about something that she was checking out, something that may have gotten her killed. She reluctantly allowed Josh Morgan, Gabriel's former brother-in-law, to help her in her quest for answers, a quest that put her and others in danger. This is a great mystery that kept me wanting to read until I finished and found answers. I have to say that the ending was a surprise. We get to see Gabriel, Kira, Abbey and other characters from Deadly Noel. I would definitely read Deadly Noel first. Margaret Daley is great at keeping one interested and guessing until the end. Her characters are well developed and likable and the story has a great plot. I highly recommend this fast read.

Deadly Dose ( Strong Women, Extraordinary Situation - #6 )
By: Margaret Daley

Deadly Dose is the sixth book in Strong Women Extraordinary Situation series. I believe it could be read as a stand alone , but you might understand the story and characters better if you read them in order. I have really enjoyed this series and Deadly Dose by Margaret Daley is another great addition to the series. She grabbed me right at the start and did not let me goo till the end. The characters were likable. Daley weaves a story about a strong woman and things she had to go through. The story is filled with action, danger, and suspense, and it is one of those page turners when you start to reading you cannot put it down till the end , and you cant wait to see what is going to happen next. I enjoyed the main characters Jessie and Josh. Jessie is trying to help find a killer, is this killer the same one that is known as the series killer that was loose? Can Jessie and Josh find the killer ? Are they putting their lives in danger?
I was given a copy of this book by the author for my honest review.

My review today is on the suspense, Deadly Dose. This is book six in the Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations Series. I always enjoy Margaret's books, don't you? This story is an excellent example of her work; it is well written, action packed and full of suspense. She has woven her faith through out the book much like a fine tapestry. I know you are going to love it.

Jessie Michaels has returned home after the murder of her best friend. It had been a rough time for her family. Her brother had been accused of murdering his wife and put into prison. His mother-in-law had taken his daughter away. Once they found his wife was killed by a serial killer he is released and the child returned. Jessie is cleaning out Mary Lou's closet for her mother when she finds a letter that is written to her. Her friend tells about a drug problem with the teen she is mentoring. Jessie is determined to find her friend's killer and what is happening to their town. Who would believe her partner would turn out to be a Morgan, her sister-in-law's brother? How could she get involved with him when they are in a feud.

Josh Morgan spent time with his niece in Florida. Her father insisted that his sister Jessie go with them to protect Abby. Jessie challenged him about paying back for all his wealth. Now he has become a mentor of a teen boy. Something is going on with the boy and he is badly beaten. Jessie shows up and helps him but the girl Jessie wants to mentor (Mary Lou's teen) has disappeared. The two of them set out to find the answers but the more they investigate the more attacks are made on them. Josh is drawn to Jessie; can they find who is out to destroy them and find a future together?

A journey of forgiveness, trust, and love. God has a plan for these two, a plan for good and not for evil. God has a plan for you too, to give you a hope and a future. Make Him Lord of your life and watch Him turn your life around.

Great read

Loved it as usual. Only problem I had was name of town Pinecrest as that's the name of cemetery where my husband, parents and many friends are. Just a petty complaint in an exciting book. Anxious for further good stories.

Good storyline, but writing needs work.

Character conversations were hard to follow. This book would benefit from stronger editing. I had a hard time determining who conversations were referring to, as well as remembering which characters were which.

Good book

The reason I did not give it a 4-star rating, the plot was very predictable and the romance developed so quickly that it was almost like a fairy tale. Also, the leading man was almost too good to be true.

Margaret Daley has released the 6th installment in Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations. For me this was a stand alone story, but I encourage everyone to read the first books to get the full impact of this series. Margaret Daley is a talented author and I love the stories she writes. She knows how to weave words together that bring a story to life that will pull the reader in at the same time. For me that's what makes a great story.
Jessie Michaels has been dealing with so much grief and pain in the past year. First the death of her sister in-law, the arrest of her brother for his wife's murder, the ensuing battle for the custody of her niece, the death of her mother and the final blow was the murder of her best friend, Mary Lou. Can you imagine the heartbreak she has endured in such a short time? Jessie finds herself in possession of a letter from Mary Lou that indicates her death may have been a murder, but with her dislike of the current police chief she turns to Kira who is the ADA with county for help. The letter leaves clues and Jessie has every intention of following every last one. Pinecrest Community Center is her first stop to check on Mary Lou's mentee, Heather Williams, from the mentoring program.
Josh Morgan has also dealt with a hard year. His sister, Jessie's sister in-law, was murdered last year and dealing with his mother and the ensuing custody case involving his niece was certainly difficult, but when Jessie challenged his community involvement he felt he needed to prove she was wrong. Josh joined the mentoring program at Pinecrest Community Center and has become close to his mentee, Aaron. Discovering Aaron badly beaten in the shower at the center concerns Josh and leads his to believe there's more going on in his community than anyone realizes.
Jess reveals to Josh what was in Mary Lou's letter his protective instincts kick in. The first attempt on Jessie's life shows Josh that his feelings are much deeper than he first thought and needs to protect Jess at all cost.

This book has elements of mystery, suspense, romantic tension, and lots of faith.
The plot and engaging characters drew me in from page one. It is full of small town intrigue. The characters are complex with real issues. Jessie has a history with Josh's family and it's not good. She harbors ill feelings towards them and she must learning the act of forgiveness is the first step in moving forward with her life. She is still consumed with the loss of her mother and friend. Josh comes from an affluent family and must realize that not every decision they make is for the good of others.
These are characters with a softer side and tough exteriors.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense or a story that shows how strong a woman can be.

This was just an okay read for me. It was really all about the characters. There was nothing about them that drew me to them or made me feel like I had a connection with them. Truthfully, they were pretty passion-less if there is such a word.

Jessie's best friend was murdered and she wants to know why. A letter from her friend, addressed to her, suggests that a girl she was mentoring used drugs and she was going to try and find the girl's supplier. Jessie gets a job at the community center to try and learn more. This brings her in contact with Josh. He was her brother's former brother-in-law. Gabriel was married to Josh's sister, Marcie, who was murdered. Gabriel was arrested for the crime thanks, in large part, to Josh's efforts to prove him guilty. When Gabriel was later proved to be innocent, Jessie wanted nothing to do with Josh.

As they work to find out what happened to Jessie's friend, her life is put in danger and Josh insists on protecting her. They spend a lot of time together and begin falling in love.

While there was nothing wrong with the plot, there was very little action and suspense. There weren't very many suspects either. In addition, this was touted as an inspirational book, but there was very little reference to God and no explanation as to whether Josh and Jessie were actually people of faith or not. This was disappointing.

Deadly Dose by Margaret Daley
Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations Series Book Six
Jessie Michaels has had a rough year. The town she lives in, Pinecrest, Oklahoma, has had too much happening. Murders. Her brother had been falsley accused but thankfully is home and will be getting married in a few weeks. But her best friend's murder is still unsolved. And once Jessie finds a clue to Mary Lou's murder—her life is thrown into mayhem once again.

Josh Morgan's life has been in upheaval as well. The death of his sister, his mother's manipulating ways, and having to reevaluate his own life after something Jessie had told him while they were in Florida. Can the Michaels and Morgan's put their past behind them and start over?

No rest for the folks in Pinecrest. There seems to be a drug ring stirring things up and messing up lives. One a time for a romance to start—when there are bad guys to find and put a stop to. The reader can first meet Jessie and Josh in the fifth book of this series; Deadly Noel. This is Gabriel's, Jessie's brother, story. Another great suspence story with a warm side of romance.

I enjoyed this story of a woman, Jessie Michaels, who is determined to find out who murdered her friend. In the process, she puts her own self and others in danger. For a while, it seems anyone she gets close to is in danger. She eventually accepts help from Josh Morgan, a very wealthy man who has the resources to do whatever is needed. Jessie and Josh both have to come to grips with events of the past and put them behind before they can even be civil with each other. This is one of those stories where people are not what they seem to be, which in some cases proves to be a good thing and in other cases is bad. For example, Josh had caused Jessie and her brother some serious problems in the past but he proves to be a good guy. You will have to read the book to find out who the others are. Suffice it to say that Jessie and Josh eventually discover they can work together to get to the bottom of things, but even they cannot accomplish a lot on their own. If you enjoy suspense, action, a touch of romance, and simply a good clean story, I recommend this book to you. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

Deadly Dose
By Margaret Daley
Just finished reading an exciting suspense story involving young people and drugs and what they can so harm you. Jessie and Josh were good character, along with several others. Every now and then I had to remind myself that his is a story, not reality, but am sure things like this do take place. I really enjoyed reading this. I am amazed at all the Inheritance stories Margaret Daley has written. Love all of them. I would highly recommend reading this one. I know you will enjoy it for sure.

This is the 6th installment in the strong women series, but I think the best. Each page keeps you turning to the next page to see what happens. Lots of suspense and some romance added. You hate to see it end, but you can`t wait to see how it ends. I know you will enjoy the series. Margaret is a great writer and if you haven`t read the series, I know you will enjoy them

Jessie couldn't get past of what Josh and his mother thought, that her brother was guilty of murder. Even after he was cleared, his mother in law didn't want him to raise his daughter. So more anger, and tension, with the father marrying again. Then when murders started happening, they realize there was more to the murder a year ago, now drugs are involved. A good story for all to enjoy.the twists of murder, drugs, and second chance at love. Will keep you guessing to the end.
