पैसा आला की, माणसाच्या अंतर्यामी दडलेले गुण-अवगुण बाहेर येतात.
पैसा नसताना दडलेले अवगुण; पैसा आला की बाहेर येतात....
पैसा हा एखाद्या रावकाचेसारखा असतो. म्हणूनच कंजूस माणूस श्रीमंत झाला की लोभी बनतो.
अधाशी माणूस जमीन जुमला खरेदी करतो. स्वार्थी माणूस विलासी बनतो.
उदार माणूस दानी बनतो. ज्यांना पैशाचा मोह नाही, त्यांना पैसा असला काय नसला काय; काहीच फरक पडत नाही.

पैशामुळे खऱ्याखुऱ्या मानवी संबंधांचं दर्शन घडतं.

About the author

Sudha Murty was born in 1950 in Shiggaon in north Karnataka. She did her MTech in computer science, and is now the chairperson of the Infosys Foundation. A prolific writer in English and Kannada, she has written nine novels, four technical books, three travelogues, one collection of short stories, three collections of non-fiction pieces and two books for children.

Her books have been translated into all the major Indian languages and have sold over three lakh copies around the country. She was the recipient of the R.K. Narayan's Award for Literature and the Padma Shri in 2006.

Nice novel about the life of a common man, woman, their relationships, behavioral changes as the man gets into the grove of making money leaving his values and family behind. The novel seem to be too prolonged in certain narrations and could have been simpler.

Another though-provoking book by Sudha mam. She knows how to weave characters, develop their behaviours, morals, values, lack of them extremely well. I could relate to Mrudula a great deal being a woman in this country. How money controls people has been described heartbreakingly good which leaves us with lot of thinking and introspection.
Less rating because I found many editing mistakes and short chapters for different character pov would have made it a better read without making it monotonous.

प्रत्येक यशस्वी पुरुषामागे एक स्त्री उभी असते अशी एक म्हण आहे. असच या कथेत देखील यशस्वी डॉ संजयच्या पाठीमागे त्याची पत्नी मृदुला उभी आहे. परंतु अपार यशाच्या शिखरावर पोहोचलेल्या आणि प्रत्येक गोष्ट पैशाने विकत घेता येते असा समज झालेल्या संजयला याचा विसर पडतो.
या अशाच वागण्याचा तत्त्वनिष्ठ आणि सुसंस्कारित शिक्षिका असलेल्या मृदुलाला झालेला त्रास ती सव्याज वसूल करुन हा परीघ पूर्ण करते.
