Her twin brother always told her to stay away from Xander, he was off limits. (As if Abby could even approach her brother’s best friend without getting her head bitten off), but still, as rude and arrogant as Xander could be, he was gorgeous and she had had a crush on him for as long as she could remember. Besides, it wasn’t as if Abby couldn’t find her own boyfriends, just-like-that. The problem was that they would get too serious and she would have to let them go, because they deserved more than she could give them, she was being cruel to be kind, right?.

When Brandon, the great big hunk of Lacrosse playing jock came into her life, just maybe he could be the one to finally tame her heart. He treated her well, was kind and patient and things were looking up for Abby. But, then....

Xander moved in with the twins in their college apartment and Abby’s world began to shift. No, Xander hadn’t turned into a prince charming, but they had an agreement, no sniping, no attitude and everyone was to play nice. Heck, when Abby needed help with a writing project, Xander is the one who set her down and gave her the direction she needed, possibly changing her life forever in more ways than she could ever have imagined.

When a terrible truth about things that happened while out partying, Abby finally understood that just maybe she had placed her heart and her trust in the wrong man, and broken the heart of the man Fate had set in her path. Sometimes growing up and facing the truth about oneself can be a painful awakening…and sometimes that pain can turn into a joy that will last a lifetime.

I bow to the writing prowess of J. Saman, who took the familiar “Stay away from my Best Friend/Sister” theme and made it her own! No stale clichés, no angsty secrets, but vibrant characters that come at you larger than life, full of energy and become like personal, flawed friends living life clueless to the impact they have on others.

LOVE REWRITTEN is equal parts fun, heartwarming, heartbreaking and hair-pulling reading that deserves to hit every book shelf of those who love amazing writing that touches on reality, but never ceases to entertain! J. Saman has scored big in my book, so buy it, read it, and thank me later!

I received an ARC edition from J. Saman in exchange for my honest review.

Big thanks to Ms. Saman for an ARC in return for my honest review

So as of this reading, it has been a while since I read a contemporary NA romance. I've found that I really like the NA genre, as it fits my place in life better than YA (yes I'm old lol). I also like that NA tends to be a bit grittier than YA...it's a nice change up. With all that said, I was really looking forward to reading this book. I enjoyed the overall story, but I felt that there were some parts that could have really been improved upon.

Abby is a junior in college. Majoring in English and biology, she is not quite sure what she wants to do with her life. Abby and her twin brother, Aubrey, share an apartment. Abby's life has been fairly monotonous until the day (and the start of this book) that lacrosse star and all-around big man on campus Brandon Kessler talks to her in the library.

****Minor spoilers below****

Abby is such a strong, independent character. She knows what she wants and she goes after it. She can take care of herself (she mentions this several times), and is not afraid of what other people think. She is very comfortable in her own skin. However, the other characters, specifically the guys, don't seem to get this. Her brother Aubrey treats Abby like a kid. He is controlling at times (all in the name of caring about her) and blows up at the littlest insult. Brandon gets overly jealous about Abby spending time with other guys, and ends up losing it when he perceives one of Abby's friends hitting on her. The only character I didn't feel like was a jerk was Xander. Granted, he starts out a jerk, but as certain misunderstandings come to light and we learn more about him he loses a lot of his asshole-ishness.

Personally, I had a hard time relating to Abby. She is not afraid to say what is on her mind, and doesn't have much of a filter. That is not my personality, and I found myself getting frustrated with Abby throughout the book, especially when it came to her relationship with Brandon and Xander. Aubrey and Xander were both vocal about how they did not want Abby to be with Brandon, but as the story went on, I almost felt like she stayed with him to spite Aubrey and Xander. Also,

The romance part of this book was great. I loved the story of Abby and Xander, and they have some fantastic chemistry. 99% of the time I am not a fan of the misunderstandings-that-could-be-cleared-up-with-a-little-communication trope, but in this case it was done well and it was understandable. And the steamy scenes were pretty great too ;)

Overall, a good read. Seeing as I pretty much read this all in 1 sitting, you could say it kept my attention! If you want a college-aged NA romance, start here.

The only reason this wasn't a 5 star read for me is I would of loved Xander's POV too but, other then that this book was extremely good and flowed beautifully. Nothing was rushed and you were able to pick up on all the different emotions of the characters. But my favorite part of this book wasn't Abby and her love interest, it was Abby and her brother. I loved the twin dynamic even though
I wanted to throat punch him a few times for going overboard in how he speaks to her.

Abby thought things were finally looking up for her when she starts dating Brandon, a lacrosse player. But then her brothers best friend and her ex friend Xander move in with them which throws everything into a whirlwind for her. You don't really find out the issues he has with her till much later, which explains his cruel deamonor to her for a good portion of the book.

This has to be one of the best and most addictive contemporary new adult romance novels I have ever read. The chemistry between Abby and Xander is off the charts but it's the delicious and sexy build up of their relationship and complicated past that makes this an excellent read. Heartbreaking at times, downright brutal and antagonistic, there's so much more than first glance with this novel.

From the beginning there's just something about Abby that strikes a cord of familiarity and angst. She's an endearing and unique character that owns her femininity and choices, living her life as she sees fit even when her twin brother Aubrey tries to shelter and protect her too much. Their relationship as twins was funny and sarcastic but also flawed and ultimately some rough decisions cause them to take a step back and reevaluate their connection and trust.

This novel touches on some important issues about trust, being safe, making smart choices, and the consequences of indulging in reckless behavior while dealing with the aftermath. One frat party and a single decision ends up having a serious and far reaching impact on Abby and Xander's future. Throw in the creepy and all too clingy Brandon, and there's a bit of a love triangle involved but not in a way that detracts from the story. Once the real truth is revealed Abby has to decide who she loves and trusts and who betrayed her. Very intense.

The writing is flawless and lush, descriptive and smooth, like a fine wine and draws the reader in, building layer upon layer until the end is revealed. There's a few surprises and some ah-ha moments but it's the arc of Abby's character that's one of the strongest points of the novel. Her inner strength shines through as she finally steps up and becomes the strong heroine she's been built up all along. I loved that she had her own mind and wasn't afraid to be who she was. This ends in a HEA which was perfect for the characters.

This is my first but certainly not my last novel by Saman. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. 5 OUTSTANDING stars!!!

Love Rewritten by J Saman is a standalone and the first book I've read by Saman. I received a complimentary copy for an honest review.

I loved this story but I'm not sure how to write the review without giving away spoilers, so I'll be brief and somewhat vague.

The storyline and characters were well developed, intriguing, suspenseful, entertaining, and thoroughly enjoyable. I was captivated from start to finish.

It was told in a single POV, Abby Scofield's. Abby was a beautiful, sassy, funny and quirky college student that lived with her twin brother, Aubrey. It's obvious from the start that they are incredibly close.

We learn early on that Abby had relationship issues and had never found someone that she truly loved. Saman took us through the beginning of a relationship with the popular Lacrosse star Brandon Kessler while at the same time unraveling the challenges between Abby and Xander Novak, Aubrey's best friend. We know from the onset that something bad happened, but we don't know what until further into the storyline.

It was a complex and heartfelt storyline. I enjoyed every word and every scene. My only issue was the editing errors; although not numerous, there were more than what's acceptable.

All in all, it was a great read and a wonderful introduction to Saman's creative writing skills. I look forward to reading more of her work.

There is a lot to love about this story - the romance, the characters, the way the author takes a sometimes overused trope and makes it compelling and new. Well-paced to keep readers engaged, this one was hard to put down. This would definitely appeal to fans of Jamie McGuire's Beautiful series (and as many of you know, her main female character is an Abby as well). The author really has a handle on this age group of characters, and how they are just figuring out how seriously their actions affect others as well as themselves and their futures - so yes, this is great drama and romance, but the character development is very realistic.

Ok, so I've recently found I have a "thing" for stories about girls and their brothers' best friends. Probably because I had crushes on every single one of my brother's friends! *sighs at the memories*

This fits squarely in that trope but offers some new perspectives. I read the author's note at the end that she reworked this story because she didn't like Xander originally. Well done because I adored him. She sneaks in little peaks into his personality (His name is Xander? And his car is named Spike? Is his computer named Willow? LOVED it!)

I enjoyed the tension between Xander and Abby. He's been hateful to her for years and we're not told why right away. I could have used a little more heat with them in some of their exchanges early on though. I knew he was in to her, but wasn't exactly sure if she returned his feelings until later. Or maybe some flashbacks to their freshman year? The book could've earned five stars from me if it had more of that and less time wasted on a Brandon. It was clear that wasn't going anywhere so why waste so much time on it?

That said I was way into the story. Abby is someone I would definitely hang with IRL. Her brother Aubrey? Not so much. A little too domineering and hypocritical. But definitely Xander!

Love Rewritten was a great way to spend a Saturday!

The Goodreads group Read It & Reap provided a copy of the epub in exchange for an honest review.

Abby Scofield is a college student determined to be her authentic self. She and her twin brother share an apartment. Everything changes when her brother’s best friend Xander moves in with them. Abby and Xander must find a way to live together peacefully. The tension between the two characters is undeniable. Abby begins dating the lacrosse team star and this further adds to the tension. Xander seems overly protective of his roommate. Their journey is filled with unexpected revelations.

Love Rewritten by J. Saman is a Young Adult/New Adult Contemporary novel. The twists and turns keep the reader interested in the story. Their voices are clear and distinct. This character-driven novel does not disappoint. Love Rewritten is an intimate look at college life and all the drama that follows.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

So I definitely loved the whole brothers best friend, enemies to lovers trope this book provided! It also had quite a unique way of interpreting a love triangle in the mix.

Abby was a junior in collage, majoring in English and biology. She was still trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life and was confused about what she would be doing after college. Her and her twin brother Aubrey shared an apartment. I have to say that I loved the relationship between Abby and Aubrey, they had the whole twin thing down pact. It was super cute picturing them interact with one another. However, Aubrey tended to treat Abby like a child at times. When in reality she was portrayed as a very independent and strong woman. She knew how to stand up for herself and spoke her mind. She was not afraid of what other people thought of her and was confident in who she was. However, she was insecure at times but that just made her more relatable in my eyes.

Abby lead a pretty mediocre life until star lacrosse player Brandon Kessler showed an interest in her and ex friend/brothers best friend Xander moved into her apartment, turning her world topsy turvy.

Brandon came off as a good guy, but you could tell that there was just something a little off with him. Him and Abby seemed to have a pretty good relationship but saying that, you could tell that there was just something missing between them.

Xander was hot and cold. There were moments of sweetness that he showed Abby but most of the time he was just downright hateful. You were given hints to how he felt towards her and could tell that there was something that had happened between them to make him so cold but you do not find out until later on in the story as to what. All in all I could have used a little more interaction between these two earlier on in the story. I felt like I had to wait way to long to see them together and it just dragged out a little to long for me. But overall once the ball started rolling I was totally intrigued by the two!

Thanks to NABC for providing a copy for an honest review.

As soon as I picked this up I was hooked, I wanted to know what happened - why was Xander being so off? What happened the night Abby referred to as 'that night'. I really enjoyed Abby's up front character, it took her a while but she did eventually ask Xander what his problem was - rather than back and forth unnecessarily.

Couldn't stand Brandon and something smelt off a mile away - still would have liked to see him suffer a bit more though lol.

A good NA read - with likeable characters and not too much angst.

I just finished Love Rewritten. OMG another awesome book by J. Saman. I love this book. I liked the character interaction, the story and the plot twists. There's lots of romance, suspense and a terrific ending. I loved Abby and Xander. I enjoyed reading Abby's opinions about the guys. I am really enjoying all of the books this author has written. I wish I could give it 10 stars but I will settle for the max allowed of 5.

I approach new adult romance very carefully. Like, VERY carefully. I read the blurbs, I read a sample, I check out the covers...I don’t make the decision to read a new-to-me author of new adult romance lightly. There are just too many high-angst, low-substance offerings out there in the new adult world to go off half-cocked, one-clicking with reckless abandon. But I did my due diligence with this one and wasn’t disappointed.

I’ll be totally honest, though. I thought Xander was a complete tool in the beginning. By the end of the book, I kind of understood where he was coming from. Not completely, but enough that I no longer wanted to kick him in the nuts. It was rough going in the beginning, though. Xander was one of those complicated, hot-and-cold, brooding creatures that you find in so many new adult romances. You know: the kind of dude all the young gals dream about/swoon over and all the old married gals want to castrate. But still, by the end of the book, I think all fans of new adult will agree that Xander turns into a pretty decent catch.

Abby was an interesting heroine. She was smart and funny, and her interactions with her brother and best friend rang completely true. I’d probably read more about Aubrey and Nina if the author decided there was more to their story.

As for the boring stuff (i.e.: writing mechanics), it was all good. Very few typos and errors, good pacing and the dialog had a nice flow to it.

If I were to nitpick (which you know I always do):

1. Abby suffered a little bit from Bella Swan syndrome. She insisted that she was “nothing special” and yet every penis within a 20 mile radius got erect in her presence. She’s talented and smart and gorgeous...and completely oblivious as to why anyone would ever notice little ole’ her. It wasn’t a terminal case of Bella Swan syndrome, and it didn’t wreck my overall enjoyment of the story, but I noticed it.

2. I won’t give anything away, but I REALLY wish Xander and Abby would’ve had an open, honest conversation with each other after a defining “incident” in their past together. If they’d handled the situation like adults and talked through it, the entire plot of the book probably wouldn’t have existed. In an adult romance, this would’ve been a deal-breaker for me. But in new adult, I’m willing to accept that these are dumb kids doing what dumb kids do, which is to brood and pout instead of talking shit through. (Doesn’t mean I have to like it, though)

3. Minor spoiler alert: I thought Brandon’s evolution from perfect guy wooing a girl, to slightly obsessive/possessive boyfriend, to lying, cheating asshat, to “you can have her; she’s not that special anyway” jerkwad was kind of...nutso. Seriously, I think he might have an actual clinical disorder and probably needs some meds.

But, minor nitpicks notwithstanding, I really enjoyed the story overall. I’m glad I took a chance on this new-to-me author, and I’ll be expecting great things from her in the future.

Full disclosure: We received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly I am not a huge fan of just one point of view but J. Samson nails this. She doesn't try to put her words in the mouth of these broody guys that we meet. She does however give us front row seat for what is going on in Abby's mind. Also I would honestly say don't start this book in the middle of the night, lesson learned. I began at 1 am thinking I would read for a while to put myself back to sleep, next thing I knew it was 5 am and I was finished this book.

Wow, J. Samson puts us through the ringer with this one. There is so much going on. Abby begins dating Brandon, although she is curious of his interest in her. They do not hang in the same circles, she can't imagine what would cause him to want to talk to her.

Zander is her brothers best friend, her former best friend, until one night changes that all. He keeps an eye out for her well being but he cant even look her in the eye. When all that comes to light, I couldn't believe the crap that happened to her. I was thankful nothing too serious but serious enough to make her question the people in her life. Zander though is a sweetheart and I would have loved to have been in his mind during these events. His sideway glances broke my heart at times. He was down right cruel and confusing most of this book.

Abby and her twins relationship, LOVE, they take care of each other and are each others best friend. The fact that they choose to live together, cook for each other, and share friends made my heart warm. Love it when siblings take care of each other.

I honestly couldn't turn off my kindle until I made sure that Abby was good. The story flows so well. The events are believable, making you think you are there with these people watching it all unfold. This is my first read from this author and it wont be my last.

This is my first book by J Saman and boy! What a book. I loved the twists and uncommunicated, mixed up emotions. The story just flowed along smoothly. I felt a part of their lives. I couldn't put this book down, it was very addictive.

I love their relationship between Abby and Aubrey. They have the 'twin thing' and can communicate with just a look. Xander, Aubrey's best friend, is a complicated creature; so hot and cold…does he love or hate Abby? It's difficult to tell. Men are so hard to read sometimes! The banter between Abby, her twin and her best friend Nina is so funny too. I have lived a section of their lives and loved every second.

Xander is vile to Abby, yet he is also super protective. He is her brother’s best friend after all. He won't look Abby in the eyes; he says spiteful things that cut like a knife... why? When Abby meets Brandon she sees a way to get over her feelings for her brothers bff. Brandon seems perfect, but something is off. What could possibly be the cause of Xander's behaviour towards Abby and what is going on with Brandon?

I am a new fan of this author and will be reading more books by J Saman for sure. You need to read this story to find out more. You won't regret it.

This is a little love triangle of a book, yet it's not. Trust me when I say you will understand when you read this book. At first I wasn't too sure of which direction this book was going, and it threw me off a bit, but when my brain caught up, it was wonderful. This story centers around a host of characters all richly developed in a well thought out story.
Abby and Xander and two ships sailing in the night, and miss their chance of being together. Xander being around Abby all the time as he is best friends with her brother Aubrey, doesn't handle this well and is to put it mildly a jerk. Some of the things he says to Abby literally made my heart hurt for her. Abby is a wonderful mix of tough chick, and soft marshmellow. So perfect combination. Brandon Kessler is the star of the Lacrosse team, and seems to be a decent guy, but you know that isn't right, and trust me it's not. I am not going to go into detail...READ this book. It's told entirely in Abby's voice.

Oh my, where do I start? This is my first book by J. Saman and wow!! I am totally in love with Abby and Xander's love story! It's sassy, witty, charming and sexy (without overly detailed sex scenes). It's real, raw and down right good! Every so often you read a book, that's not only refreshing but the story resonates with you...that was this book for me.

It has some amazing characters that you will love and hate; you are so engrossed in the story, that these emotions and characters only adds that much more to the story as you have to know what comes next. J. Saman weaves a story that will have you hooked with the charm, sass, characters and story which is not only a heart-warming romance, but it's also complex...there are so many layers that made this one EPIC read for me!

I look forward to reading more work by this amazing writer! This is a definite must read for those who enjoy Second Chance romances. This is sassy as it is sweet, witty as it is charming with one amazing story line!

3 and 1/2 stars. A solid read that featured a sometimes-hilariously-sarcastic, level-headed h, and a sometimes-cruel, bruised-hearted H. I appreciate that the author set up moments that could have blown up into Drama, but had been diffused and approached with maturity or logic. I also liked the authors ability to flesh out a world that felt real. Every character had a hint (or more) of their own backstory- a part of their lives that we don't get to see. There were also little nuanced movements and actions that had no purpose but to help give you a true vision of real life - to help you forget that you're reading. This book was not without its flaws. It drove me nuts that the boyfriend (not the H) would to shockingly shitty things, but the h would calmly say how he's still a great guy overall. Which he wasn't. Also I would have preferred the H to be a little more Alpha - we see bits of it, but I want my fantasy men to be apex predators. Ok, not "predators", but you know what I mean. All-in-all an enjoyable, borderline "GoodStuffs" read.

I really liked this story for several reasons:

The main character, Abby, is very likeable. She's fiery, independent and yet she's also delicate and vulnerable. She's down to earth, real and totally unaware of her own beauty and it's affect on men.

Xander's moods and sideways glances are very sexy and intriguing. You could cut the tension between the two characters with a knife.

Roll in Brandon, the sexy jock. I wasn't sure if I liked him or not but I think that's the point.

J. Saman writes a story that leaves you questioning the differences between male and female relationship behaviour and what we accept as the norm. It's very cleverly written so it's not heavy but intricately woven into the story. It's thought provoking but also a great entertaining 'escape' book.

I'm just going to dive right in and say I loved this book, had me hooked from the start. The reason? There was one person in it I couldn't get enough of - Xander. He was divine. I absolutely loved him, even when I was hating him I loved him. The emotional torture he put Abby through was at times so ruthless and cruel that I would actually physically cringe whilst reading. Example:
“I don’t see what the big deal is, Aubrey. I don’t think she looks pretty,” he emphasizes the word, “like this, so I can’t imagine Kessler will either."
I mean seriously, is there anything worse you can say to a girl who has just spent ages getting ready to go out on a date? No, there's not. Complete and absolute tear down. It amazed me how well Abby handled it at times. If it was me, I would have crawled back to my bedroom and curled up in the fetal position. But to her credit Abby picked herself up, brushed it off, and went out with her head held high. What else I loved about Xander's character was how he would drop earth shattering one liners on Abby and then just walk away, not saying another goddamn word, leaving her rooted to the spot and reeling in emotional mayhem, all while he seemingly goes away completely unaffected by it all. Example:
“I didn’t mean what I said before.”
I shake my head, having no idea which thing in particular he’s referring to. Does that mean he’s not going to leave me alone? I’m sort of having mixed feelings on that.
“You look so much more than pretty tonight,” he says softly, sadly, his cobalt blue eyes boring into mine. I gasp before I can help it, but he doesn’t allow me to respond. He simply walks past me into his bathroom, shutting and locking the door behind him.
He doesn’t want me to follow him.
He's a freaking master at mind manipulation, and I must say, in some strange twisted way, I found it kind of really sexy. I think because you know there's something deeper going on there, you know there's a hell of alot more to it than just a guy being an ass to a chick. You can feel the history between Abby and Xander radiating off the pages, and even though you don't know what that history is, you know it runs deep, and you know it's coming from a place of intolerable pain, particularly for Xander. This is what kept me reading, this is what I couldn't wait to find out, what had Abby done to him that had hurt him so deeply.
Well done to author J. Saman for crafting characters that carried around so much emotional baggage. Abby had her demons, commitment issues, letting her brother control her life, and failing to see what was right in front of her the whole time. Aubrey her twin brother also had his own demons, a way too controlling personality, hypocritical, and a shocking habit of using women for sex then discarding them like rubbish. Xander was the stand out character for me, he had all the attributes I admire and respect in a person, loyal, caring, loving and honest to a fault. Even though he knew it would be bad when Aubrey found out about him and Abby being together he didn't care, it was more important to him to tell the truth to his best friend, and suffer the consequences. Unlike Nina and Aubrey, who snuck around behind Abby's back hiding the fact they were together. Sure, Xander may have been a little harsh on Abby at times, but this is all explained, and when you understand the reasoning behind it, it all makes sense.
Deserves all the fives I gave it. Great book. Highly recommend.

Abigail “Abby” Scofield lets the reader know exactly what she’s feeling – as if we are her friend and she’s talking right to the reader. Brandon Kessler is the self-assured jock but he slowly reveals other parts of his personality. Xander Novak is the pain in the neck friend of Abby’s brother. I found it interesting how Abby’s brother Aubrey seems to have the “Do as I say, not as I do” mentality.

There was a time when I saw how confused Abby was and how I was as well. But it will have you turning the page because you want to see if she finally figures things out. This is a story of young adults spreading their wings as they find their place in the world. A person of a certain age may have a hard time relating to what Abby is going through unless they actually went through something similar in their younger days.

The story seemed to have a lot of ups and downs just like our lives do. I found the story to have plenty of realism to it – makes it very relatable. For me the story moved slowly – as if we were reading it in real time. But having the story move as it was made it very easy to put down. But it also made it very easy to pick back up again and not feel as if I lost my place. I liked the fact that the author gave me a happy ending but I just never felt any type of love connection. Would I read this story again? Probably not. Would I read this author again? I probably would. Just because this story was not my cup of tea doesn’t mean that I might not like something else this author has written. Only you can decide if you feel the same.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

J. Saman gives us a slow burn in her book Love Rewritten. Abby is a college girl torn between two majors and trying to figure out her best life choices when the local star lacrosse jock, Brandon, comes on the scene. The picture perfect guy makes all the right moves and seemingly sweeps her off her feet. At the same time Abby butts heads with Xander, her twin brothers best friend and what I would term her frenemy - a guy who one minute blows hot and the next stone cold. Since Abby has never denied her feeling for Xander to herself, Xanders constant mood swings leave her confused and hurt. Meanwhile even though all signs lead to a disaster in the making with Brandon she forges ahead into a relationship with him. I like how the author manages to juggled the two relationships while enabling Abby to hold a sense of genuineness and credibility. The changes you get to 'watch' in all three characters keep you turning the page as does Abby's twin brother Aubrey and his revolving door of one night stands. I won't give away any spoilers - you'll have to turn your own pages to see who Abby chooses. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Love Rewritten.

Received a free copy for an honest review

This was a very addictive read, I found myself not wanting to put it down. As much as I enjoyed reading this I found a few things that hit a snag and I found a few things not really believable.

I liked Abby, her personality stood out more than most in romance novels. Her attitude towards how Xander felt about her seemed a little forced by the author. No one just starts hating someone out of the blue like that, and even if they did I would think you would talk to them about it.
I liked Abby's twin brother Aubrey but could not connect with either Brandon or Xander, even after I found out why he "hated" her.
Over all a very good read, a nice change from the same old story done over and over again.

This is my first book that I have read by J. Saman and i will say how much i enjoyed it. Her style of writing totally drew me in, and her storyline kept m there. This is really a story of miscommunication and mixed emotions.

The characters are extremely likeable and, to me, ver realistic. Abby and Aubrey are twins attending college. They are extremely close and constantly help each other out of difficult situations. Xander is Aubrey's best buddy, a guy who constantly puts Abby down, until Brandon comes along. Brandon likes Abby and treats her with respect and kindness.

J. Saman puts many twists and turns into her story that keeps her reader captivated. This is a fun and entertaining read, a definite move away from the normal cliches of ths genre. It will have you riding your emotions, but it is so worth it.

Abby is a strong, independent character, who loves her twin Aubrey unconditionally, and all she wants is love. Xander is Aubrey’s bff, and due to his past is really mean and vindictive to Abby. When infamous Brandon asks her out, she is hoping this will put her feeling in perspective. The moral of this story is that sometimes we do not see what is right in front of us!!
The story is packed with action, humour, banter, emotions, and is a rollercoaster journey. This author has done a great job with this storyline, and I recommend her work for all readers.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book!

A new twist on the stay away from your best friends sister.
Abby and Xander never got along. Always at each others throats, ripping each other a new one made his moving into their shared apartment a bit tense.
They came to an agreement to be cordial and it seemed to work until something changed.
Suddenly the two are closer, Xander is helping her, he's a different person than she thought.
When the truth about some horrific events that took place come to light it could cost Abby the man she's meant to be with.

I'm not a huge NA reader or college romances but this one hooked me. It's got a little something for everyone, I was apprehensive going in but loved it long before the end.
4 stars.

Abby has always been in love with her brother's best friend Xander, even though he treats her horribly. As a hockey fan, I agree with several other commenters who stated that the book was inaccurate in scoring. It is very difficult to win a game by 7 points. I also didn't swoon for Xander. He was a jerk to Abby so i couldn't understand why she was stuck on him. The whole, "I'm mean to you because i like you" thing is kind of ridiculous... even for kids. I did start enjoying the story a little more towards the middle, but then Abby and Xander ultimately getting together, like we knew they would, happened very suddenly.
