4 Star review of The Her Series Box Set by Alexis Noelle
This was a new author to me and follows four men who chose different paths in life and whose stories are woven together since they are all part of a group of friends

Keeping Her:
This story is about Brian and Julia (Jules) and in essence is about the one who got away. Miscommunication is at the heart of this book, with both of them believing that the other doesn’t think they are good enough for them. Julia’s heart was broken when she left town to go on a 3 month European holiday, Brian feeling he wasn’t good enough for Julia enlisted and went away the day before returned. Brian has always been in love with his Jules and has returned home, determined to show her what is missing. However people and circumstances change and Jules is now married to her best friend Dan, a man Brian has always hated, and on that I totally agree with Brian. I have to say these two didn’t endear themselves to me. I was frustrated at times by Brian’s attitude, he acted like a jerk Perhaps because she is married and Brian is determined to show her what she is missing. Although having said that by the end I was feeling happier with Brian. The supporting characters were good and I really liked Jules’s best friend Lacey. Will the secrets and lies that pulled them apart be unravelled and will Jules decide her future is with Brian or Dan?

Protecting Her:
Hunter is a player, determined not to settle down, that is until her meets the woman he has to protect Samantha. What happens when a supposed one night stand becomes complicated? Hunter suddenly finds that Sam is the person he has been hired to protect. I actually liked these two together; the camaraderie between them was at times awesome. With her life in danger, Sam has withdrawn into herself and Hunter feels the need to drag her back to the land of the living. This was a romance story filled with suspense and I have to say I enjoyed it more than Keeping Her. If I had a mother/manager like Sam’s I would run far away. If I could have knocked her out, I think I would have.

Saving Her:
This is Lacey Hunt, a character I really liked from Keeping Her and Mason Brooks story. They met due to their friendship with Brian and Jules, Both have been badly hurt in the past. Can they take a giant leap of faith and open themselves up to the possibilities before them or will their past haunt continue to haunt them. This book was an emotional roller-coaster and one that really caught and kept my attention to it. Emotional and tear jerking I have to say I felt this was possibly the best book in the set. Can these two knock down each other’s walls? Can these two broken souls come together and heal each other? This book was well written full of angst, romance and eventual love.

Claiming Her:
This is Jake and Nina’s story. He is a trainer at a gym and as such is confident, good looking and unlucky in love. He is also kind and sweet and determined to pursue Nina. However, Nina has plans to avoid a relationship at all costs.
Do opposites really attract? Is it enough to overcome the past and look towards the light of a brighter future? Nina has been traumatised by her twin sister’s death and has always blamed herself. Jake is determined to stand by Nina and be whatever she needs. I loved that about him.
Although underlined by sadness, this book to me had more humour in it than the others. This book was also an emotional journey and I felt myself almost in tears on occasion

I really enjoyed Alexis Noelle's writing style and overall I enjoyed the stories. I look forward to reading more from Alexis Noelle.

I have so many choice words I could use to share my feelings but if I typed them I am sure Amazon and goodreads and probably my own blog would never allow the post to go live !! FREAKIN Alexis Noelle is known now as the TORTURE AUTHOR...A new bad habit of mine , if I love the author I sign on for any of their work and let it surprise me !! WELL SURPRISE SURPRISE I WAS RIPPED TO SHREDS AGAIN !! This author knows how I feel about here so if I say I HATE her she won't take offense , it only means the story made me feel way more than I wanted to and I am slowly healing days later. She has been known to rip my heart out and stuff it back in all crooked and jumbled. Although I read these books as they each released on their own I love that they are now available in this set. These stories are so fast paced and I flew through them in a matter of hours , having them all in one would make for a longer read and a more torturous emotional shredding !! So here is a review broken down by story !!

KEEPING HER-
Julia and Brian have been together for 4 years , all throughout her high school years. Julia and Dan have been best friends for years and their parents run in the same rich people circles. Brian has never liked Dan and of course he thinks Dan wants Julia etc etc...things a lovely love triangle are made of !! Julia's parents despise Brian and Julia has spent years defending their love. They have a heated kind of love , anger , fights , hot sex and tons of love and emotion. As they stand Julia is leaving for the summer on a trip with her best friend Lacey. it is their last night together but Julia also needs to go see Dan. Had Julia known what would happen once she fell asleep at Dan's she never would have left Brian. That night ruined everything they had spent 4 years building. Julia's life was a mess after that and she never knew why Brian took off. Now years later Julia has moved on in life and Brian is back home making her life crazy. It is undeniable when it comes to Julia and Brian's bond. With the wonder of what really happened that night lingering between them and the threat of Julia's new life happily married in their way can they set things straight or will fate step in and prevent us from all finding out the truth.

This story gets crazy , I swear I don't know how I didn't expect things as they happened but I was shocked as SH** and thrown off guard I honestly was blown away. Secrets . lies , things buried in the past coming back to haunt , I mean you really get it all. On top of all this Brian is just so freakin HOT and consuming I mean I couldn't even think straight once he started dirty talking. This is a must read , seriously go buy it now !! You will be surprised by the connections and twists and turns !! Is there an HEA ?? That is for me to know and you to find out !!!!!!!!!!

PROTECTING HER-
She almost went easy on us !! Just when I got comfy and was blissfully happy with how things were going BOOM out of nowhere we get slammed with a twist and a gut wrenching event. There was a topic in this story that is sadly such a real life issue it was great to see an author tackle the issue and have the character come out on top of it. Hunter may come off as the typical bad boy BUT I can bet money you will fall in love with him. As snotty as Sam may seem you will also fall in love with her !! They are great , love them as individuals and as a couple. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Hunter is known for his man whoring ways. He fits the bill - hot , cocky , single and doesn't give a crap about what others think. We start off with him at a bar scoping out prey and nailing one down for the night. Little does he know this one night stand may be anything but. He may come off as a jerk but it doesn't take long to see his softer side , his real side. The pieces of himself that he normally hides. All it takes is a slightly broken celeb to drag it out of him. This job may be nothing he expected but everything he didn't know he wanted !!

Samantha is on the fast track. A celebrity in the making. The fame and fortune isn't really worth it to her , she is miserable being managed by her mother. That woman is pure evil , OMG I wanted to BEAT HER DOWN !! Sam is never good enough and she is worked to exhaustion. Just one night away , that is all she craves. She doesn't expect to find a one night stand but going with the flow she gives in to temptation only to be made to feel just a horrible as she does by her mother. I seriously feel for this girl. With a threat looming over her there is new security hired. When they come face to face and realize they will be together day in and day out tensions run high.

With Sam as his new job Hunter knows he should keep his distance. Something about her draws him in. Her mother drives him crazy and the way she treats Sam has him twisted in knots. With Hunter as her protector Sam quickly realizes she needs to make a stand , her mother is relentless. Hunter and Sam make a great team. When the you know what hits the fan you will be shocked to see how it all unfolds. I really enjoyed their journey. Sam has some serious issues and problems to overcome. Hunter has a past he needs to share and put behind him for good. Will they help each other or will their relationship get in the way and just cause more pain ??

SAVING HER-
Oh the freakin TORTURE
Lacey has not only been betrayed by her ex husband but now once again all hopes and dreams for her future are on hold. Choosing to keep her news a secret she also decides to throw caution to the wind and finally see if Mason , a friend of a friend, will pay her any attention. There is a little game of cat and mouse during a drunken night and despite the talk of what would come of them being together something beautiful blooms out of this unexpected duo. Mason has his faults , his issues & secrets as well. He has his friends yet he doesn't let many close to him. He is straight forward with Lacey. No love , no feelings , no getting to know each other, just a physical relationship where they both get what they want and feel great while doing so. Of course we know how that goes and soon things are being thrown in their path that nobody expected. I am not a fan of secret keeping BUT the story flows well and I get it now. Such a tragic ending and as much as you can say it can be an HEA in part , I am just too destroyed to feel the peace. I really didn't think it would go there BUT it did and as much as I hate it I give credit !! Now in the midst of this playing out we get PLENTY of HOTNESS from Mason !! No denying the fact that he is book boyfriend , panty melting material !! The connection between the two of them is amazing and I loved watching them develop their relationship so honestly. Regardless of what they claimed to want it didn't matter , they couldn't stop the way it happened and if you can hang onto that you may get through the tough times !!

CLAIMING HER-
Thanks A LOT !! I was screaming and cursing in my mini-van outside my girls dance class while reading this book !! I admit I started out laughing and there were plenty of laughing scenes , especially that massage scene , OMG , that was awesome !! BUT that one part , everyone who read it knows what I mean , that one part , are you kidding me, I was convinced, devastated UGHHH , GOOD JOB !! This was a super quick read and a nice addition to the group. Nina had such a sad past and I am a dreamer as well and sometimes my dreams feel so real. I totally felt for her. The guilt , the wonder and then the truth WOW. Jake was great , I loved his sense of humor , his determination and of course as Uncle Jake OMG swoon !! There was a bit of everything in this story and some things I didn't expect and others I called. Regardless I enjoyed the read and look forward to more from this author !!

* I received a ARC of this box set in exchange for my fair and honest review.*

These books are about four men who formed a bond while being in the military. After they complete their service they all head home, which is the same small area. Funny how they never knew each other growing up, even though they all grew up close to each other. The military brought them together, now they are going to stay together.

Keeping Her, is about Brian and Julie. They are unfriendly ex's from 8 yrs ago, who desperately still love each other and need to be together. However they feel, Julie is married to Dan, the man who got between them 8 yrs ago. Can they get past all their hurt feelings and anger towards each other to move on and find happiness? Is there anyway for them to be happy, while Julie is a married women? Find out in this crazy world wind story that has you feeling like you are on a roller coaster!

In Protecting Her, you have Hunter, the playboy and Samantha, the pop star. Hunter has a one night stand quickie with Sam without realizing who she is. The next day he walks in to his new client to learn that he is now the security for the hot piece of ass from last night. Both of these two run so hot and cold you feel like your getting whiplash from the back and forth until they start to admit their feelings for each other. Hunter is great for Sam, and with the added stress of a stalker out to hurt her, she is scared and he is determined to not let anyone her his cupcake. This is another emotional rollercoaster ride which such amazing writing that makes you fall in love with the characters and cheer them on.

In the third book, Saving Her you have Lacey and Mason. We have seen Lacey in the previous two books, and have seen a little of Mason too. So we already have a connection to these characters. Lacey has suffered a terrible crippling blow when her husband divorces her after she learns he has a second family in the town over that includes a girlfriend and two kids. Its such a huge blow, because her then husband Scott had always said he didn't want kids, something Lacey has always desperately wanted. She gave up her dreams for him, only to be crushed by him. Mason is a contractor, who is more than ruff around the edges, he comes off as a real asshole. Hardly talks to Lacey but always acts like a possessive jerk. The heart can't control who it wants and these two want each other. However there are so many obstacles in the way for this couple. This book is no different with regards to the emotional ride you are on, but it is definitely the most emotional roller coaster I have been on in quit a while. Their are so many secrets in this book, with so many underlining problems, you wonder how can these two find their happily ever after?

In book 4, Claiming Her, we get to Jake's story. He has been a big part of the other books, so his character is familiar to us. His story is three years after Saving Her, so we can see how Jake is trying to do what Lacey asks of him. He's been trying to find love, trying and failing, until he meets Nina. Nina is actually a friend of Sam's from Protecting Her. She was Sam's hairstylist, and is now working at a local Spa as a massage therapist. The boys suggest that Jake goes and gets a massage. They might have made it seem like Nina would give him a 'happy ending' ;) When the massage is over, Jake rolls over and exposes himself to Nina who is shocked and runs, leaving Jake so embarrassed. This is where the story might of ended with any other guy, but Jake is persistent, especially when he realized Nina was different than any other women before, and he's not giving up. These two go on a emotional roller coaster ride, which Noelle is becoming famous for (in my book). I loved the twists and turns in this book. just like the rest of the series. Jake is a guy we want to believe is out their but can't believe he's real.

All of these stories are amazingly written, with such depth in the characters that you fall in love with these guys and wish for them to have happy ever after. These stories will make you mad, make you laugh out loud and will make you cry. But only the best books do that ;)

This box set follows four friends who all chose different paths; the ex-boyfriend determined to make his first love see exactly what she’s been missing; the personal security guard, hell bent on his single life, until he falls for the girl he’s hired to protect; the construction worker who is fighting tooth and nail to stay away from the only girl who has ever made him want more; and the personal trainer who is determined to make his girl see that he is more than just a player.

The Her Series Box Set was my first introduction to this author and while a box set is always a great way of getting to know an author’s work if you are new to that author they can also come with a downside. For me personally, the downside to this box set was that I did not really care for the first book. I am usually a fan of second chance/reunited love but the author made some choices with the characters personalities that were simply not to my taste. Was the story bad? No, the story line was good and had some unexpected elements that kept it interesting. Was the writing bad? No, the writing was good as well. It was simply a difference in taste when it came to the characters in this particular story.

The second book in this series was filled with suspense and I liked the camaraderie between these characters. There was a character that made me want to break my kindle in this story (which my daughter thought was equal parts crazy and hilarious to watch), so be warned that you might get a tad bit aggravated with one character (not one of the main ones).

The third book was my favorite and compared with all the other books this one made them all pale in comparison. Lacey Hunt is a character I really liked from the first book. This book had me spellbound from the start and I could not put my kindle down until I was finished with it. This book was such an emotional excursion that I had to take a break just to let it all settle in and digest before I could even think of starting the fourth book. Both characters have been badly hurt in the past and still hold lingering pain from these experiences that caused them to build almost impenetrable walls. This was a beautiful story full of distress and anguish that really put you through the emotional paces.

The fourth book was an interesting combination of underlining sadness, but yet had more comedy in it than the others. It was an emotional story that almost had me in tears in a few points then laughing at other times. I loved that Jake was determined to stand by Nina and be whatever she needed him to be. There was more sweetness to this story also than the others.

I really appreciated and enjoyed the authors writing style and overall I enjoyed the stories and would recommend reading this set. I look forward to reading more from this author. 4 stars from me.

OMG! I so love Alexis Noelle and her books! I’ve not read one that’s bad! This series is so awesome!!!!

Keeping Her is Brian and Julia’s story. It’s soooooo good. Lies, misunderstanding, attempted murder, romance, sadness. It’s really got everything you could want in one perfect story.

Protecting Her….OMG Samantha & Hunter. WOW! This one is explosive! Sam is feisty in her own right but Hunter is a class A jerk! At least at the beginning. Hunter is the perfect one night stand, never the same girl twice, man whore. And of course it takes just the right girl to tame these types of men. Sam is the perfect one to do this. Amazing and brilliant story!

Saving Her is….hmmmm well it took me a while to get over this book. I’m not quite sure what to say. I don’t know if it’s my fav of the series or just the one I remember the most. It’s defiantly the one that made me cuss and hate Alexis the most!! Lacey and Mason hate relationships….well Mason brings whole new meaning to the words "hate relationships"! Lacey is - well she’s just perfect. Pretty and genuine; heart and sweet; loyal and funny. You must read this book to understand why it made me Facebook Alexis and tell her I’m mad at her!!

Claiming Her is about Nina & Jake. Nina is a masseuse and Jake’s friends (the guys in the above books) prank him. They tell him that since he’s had terrible dates the past few months he needs to go see Nina. Her massages have “happy endings”. So he goes. Yes, it was a joke! But SO funny!!!! I liked this book because he was the one determined to have a relationship and “chased” Nina even though she had serious demons that needed to be dealt with. I think this one might be the most fun and romantic of the four.

I really loved reading these books and having them all in one place. Reading them right after each other makes it feel like it’s all one story. You will get more info on the other characters since they are all in each book.

Alexis writes quickly and fast paced and I’ve seen a few reviews where it wasn’t liked. I can say that I don’t see the issue with this but that could be because I did read them right after each other. I enjoyed that the story doesn’t lag and gets down with business right from the start. I don’t know what the writing version of “talking to hear yourself talk” would be but Alexis doesn’t have that and it’s refreshing!!!!

VERY Highly Recommend!!!!

When I first started reading the series I began with Book One ( obviously) I was intrigued. The plot twist around each corner kept me hooked. Suspenseful and left me wanting more. I truly enjoyed this series and was very happy I didn't have to wait too long to see what happened next. I will say out of the series Lacey and Mason's story truly tugged at my heartstrings and was my favorite of the entire series. Alexis did a great job bringing each story and its characters to life. As I read I could visualize the scene being played out in a movie. I read quite a bit and it's not too often I find a book/series where it moves me to tears or has me laughing. This series did both. I would recommend this series.

**Note** This was actually 4 books in one but I'm going to write this review as 1 rather than 4 individual ones.

Holy hotness Batman! I loved each of these men! I wanted to hug them at the same time call them names and slap them silly. Brian, Hunter, Mason and Jake are similar but unique in their own special ways. I couldn't decide who was my favorite so I've made them all my next book boyfriends :)

I loved the writing because there wasn't a lot of distraction to the story. Every thought, idea, feeling was germane to the story and the characters.

I am definitely an Alexis Noelle convert and can't wait to read more!

I really like when I can read a box set so that I don't have to wait for the next book to come out. This is a series about a group of friends who are each pursuing relationships. The romances range from making the one that got away see what they missed to the player meeting his match to a couple with walls built up that each may need the other to help tear down and finally opposites attracting. Each one is fun to read and will keep your attention. You will find yourself moving quickly from one story to the next because the friends really do pull you into their lives. Great characters with fun storylines. Very good series.

This series follows different couples, each with their own angst, and second chances. This series had it all, from suspense, frustration (yes, I was wondering about some of the characters choices, LOL), and some incredibly hot scenes. But all in all it had what we all look for, each book had a good storyline, and there were times where I was annoyed at the female characters, but it was a great read.

Alexis has a way of writing emotion, where you're dragged into the story and you feel everything the characters are, and that's what makes a good book.

I loved this series in so many ways. These four men who find the women to complete them. I loved the second chance romance of Brian and Jules. Mason and Lacey's story tore my heart out. Sam and Hunter's story was my favorite of the four. Gotta love a fantastic bodyguard love story. Then there's Jake and Nina's story that made me swoon. All four of these men were delish in their very own way. I so enjoyed their stories.

I give The Her Series 4 hearts!

Great stories

Alexis did an amazing job with this series. The intertwining of friendships was beautiful to see. But what I appreciated about her story telling was the "realness" of situations. Even the HEA was not met without permanent heartbreak. Recommend 100%
