Alex has to remind herself she has a family, she is loved and she is safe, but still the nightmares persist; she didn’t know what they meant, but they scared her. Alex’s attempts at producing pups has been unsuccessful on numerous occasions, that is until she meets Anthony; together they form an immediate, strong bond, but they can never be together, it is forbidden. Noemi is an Alpha, but she has always wanted to leave and form her own pack. To this end she helps Alex and Anthony escape, not once but twice. The first time Alex is betrayed by her own mother, and has to return to the pack, while Anthony is punished too and left in a weakened state – but Alex and Anthony are determined to be together and nothing will stop them from making their escape. For their second attempt a more elaborate plan has to be made. Eventually they outwit both packs and reach the river; once they cross this they come into contact with another pack, one that doesn’t have a single leader, one that shares responsibilities - just the sort of pack where Alex can happily bring up her cubs. This was quite an interesting and pleasant story that I enjoyed reading. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The story had promise but it was a bit vague.

There were a lot of interesting characters but the story lacked background and more explanations.

I really liked the forbidden love angle but it felt as though 'something' was missing.

Marie Smith did well with the narration.

This was a whole new take on a werewolf pack and not in a good way. The werewolves were given a spot in the pack and based on that spot they were only allowed to do certain things. Alphas (male and female) were not allowed to mate, they were to only hunt food and protect the pack. Omegas (we only saw female) were only there to breed to keep the pack going. When the Omegas were to breed they were taken to another pack and forced to mate with an alpha from that pack then brought back the same day to never see the male again.

The story lost me around halfway. It was lacking something from that point but before that I was really into the story.

The love story of Alexa and Antony. Because the short of women two packs decided to share the females. They would met and never see each other again. Alexa has try seven time to became pregnant but has not. When she and Antony mated it was love at first site. They want to be together forever. So Alexa, Antony, Tracy ran from they packs. Will they make it or will all die? Great story.

For these cruel packs of wolves to survive they forcibly make lower ranking females mate with high-ranking alphas from another like-minded pack to produce pups. One night where they never see each other again and the majority of the alphas are abusive. Alexa hasn't gotten pregnant the last 6-7 times she's been mated After going yet again, she meets Antony, who's completely different as in kind and gentle. They have a passionate encounter & decide to meet up again, which is forbidden. With help from her new friend Noemi, another alpha, Alexa & Antony meet. From there, Noemi wants to be free & with A&A plus another Alpha named Tracy, they all decide to leave. Basically, after that point, they get caught, fight, Alexa & Antony consummate their love again, get caught by free wolves who are radically different than what our protagonists are used to & they live happily ever after.

Idea was interesting but not enough information given for my liking. Especially, how did they get accepted by the new pack? No information about Noemi's or Tracy's life with the new pack & I personally found the ending to be just wrong. Too sudden & not the right topic to end on.

Narrator was ok, neither great nor bad. She tried to emote & change voices but all the girls sounded the same & she gave the impression she was bored.

Interesting shift from the normal take on wolf packs in paranormal stories.

Different kind of wolf pack. Instead of a loving, supportive and family oriented pack these alpha wolves are like prison wardens. These were some nasty wolf's.

Slow moving story, some action and sex.

Alexa dreams of a better way. Finding a way to break free from the harsh life of their wolf packs. She finds help in a fellow pack mate No-amy(?) and her mate Antony from a neighboring wolf pack.

Marie Smith is the narrator for this book. While she does have a pleasant voice the narration is stilted/dry, it just doesn't slow smoothly. It just sounds like she's reading pages. Like she didn't do a read through of the story beforehand to prepare and familiarize herself with the story. She does convey some of the emotions of the characters, but again the delivery is stilted. There is no difference between the female voices when they are speaking making it difficult to be sure which character is speaking. If I had purchased the book I would have returned it due to the narration.

I really enjoyed this audio book about werewolves. Paranormal romance is my favorite genre and I have read many werewolf books, most of them are basically the same, which I don't mind and enjoy very much. This book was a bit more edgier, the structure of the pack, the hierarchy, the rules are so different than what I have read before, so glad they had a great romance in the story line. So fast paced that I listened to it in one day, would love to read more from this author. A great narrator is also a plus in audio books and this narrator gave a great performance, brought the action and characters to life. A Different Shifter Novel

An intriguing plot. This shifter story is entirely unique from other shifter books. Antony and Alexa are such an interesting couple along with their friends: Noemi and Tracy. Three alphas and a lower ranking wolf that are trying to escape a system by their packs that has been in existence for awhile. Danger, adventure, romance, betrayal, and suspense. Question, do Noemi and Tracy get a book of their own?

This book moved kind of slow and I would loose interest and then have to take up were I left off later. I am not really sure what put me off, it seemed hard to get into from the beginning and just never made me feel that moment of believability. May be someone else might get it, I know is paranormal but I have read plenty of them to know although they are total fiction you have felt it could be if that makes sense?
