Aidan Ross might be an engineering genius, but people skills? Not this soldier's forte. Thankfully, a trusted friend is accompanying him to a make-or-break tradeshow . . . but then a bubbly redhead hops into his truck, claiming to be his new road trip buddy. She's a gorgeous distraction he can't afford. Or ignore. Delaney Harper comes from a family of engineers--male engineers. With several impressive projects under her belt, she's on a mission to prove she can hang with the big boys, too. But cracking the sexy, closed-off CEO is tougher than she expects . . . and hotter than she could have imagined. With the tempting woman disrupting his carefully planned schedule, Aidan can't focus on the road, much less their upcoming presentation. The future of his company is riding on this trip, and if they're to land a huge account, he has to keep his head--and his heart--in the game . . . Contains mature themes.

I wanted to nope out hard at 70% but forced myself to finish because I hoped it wasn't going where I thought it was going. Instead, I confirmed that the message of this book is that if you're a woman in a male-dominated field, you must be attractive and put together in order to be taken seriously. So gross.

Delaney Harper has a lot to prove - or so she thinks! All her elder brothers, her father and grandfather are engineers and so is she. She has been successful in her job but still feels the need to prove herself, especially to her parents, who she believes just want her to follow the lead of her mother and female relatives by getting married, having children and being a housewife, not a career woman and certainly not an engineer! Now, however, she has the opportunity she’d been dreaming of. Her boss has food poisoning and she’s managed to arrange things so she’ll be the one giving the presentation at a highly prestigious and important trade show . . . if only she can convince the CEO of the firm who she’d never met before.

The CEO is Aidan Ross and he’s definitely an engineering genius but comparatively useless at interactions with people. Delaney proves to be a feisty, very independent, bubbly and determined young lady, obviously a talented engineer and skilled software developer but also a huge temptation! As the attraction between the two heats up, the journey to the venue is just going to be so much harder for the Ice Man to cope!

This has a predictable outcome but the journey there explores the impact of tragic loss and insecure teen years as well as living up to the expectations you believe others have of you. It is a battle of the sexes with him trying to be the gentleman whilst she strives to be treated as an equal. The characters are complex, the plot has enough twists to keep the reader engaged and the writing style takes you in to enjoy escaping into the story. Definitely an enjoyable story for anyone who enjoys the heroine to be the antithesis of a needy, snivelling, desperate to be married female whilst the male is a gentleman, strong, successful but with flaws…

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read this in exchange for my honest review.

I loved it! It's absolutely amazing, just sucked me in right from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. It's most definitely a must read for romance lovers.

Delaney is determined to prove herself in a men's world. She is brilliant and nothing can stop her from getting what she wants. She has worked hard, and now it's time for her to take her career to the next level. Aiden is the key for that. He owns the company she works for and if she wants to become a partner then she needs to wow him. Which won't be difficult because her work speaks for itself.

Aiden is definitely impressed by her work ethics and proud of her. But the more time they spent together the more he realises that it's not a work relationship he wants, he wants her. Things get more and more complicated when they are both "Driven to Temptation". Now more than his firm's future is at stake...

A beautifully written book, with awesome characters. On one side there is Delaney who is confident about her talent and knows exactly what she wants. Also she isn't afraid of speaking her mind. On the other hand there is Aiden socially awkward, and used to keeping his emotions bottled up. When these two opposite personalities collide we've perfect chemistry, and heart-warming romance in the making. I enjoyed reading this book a lot and recommend it to all readers.

It was a cute light read. What drew me to this book was that Delaney is a woman engineer. I had a little bit of a struggle with Aidan and Delaney though. For me the connection between them just wasn't there for most of the book, but I have to say by the end they sold me on their relationship. The journey there was a memorable one for them. Aidan is by the book in control and then Delaney is fun loving spontaneous. They bring what the each other needs. They struggle not to act on their attraction for each other since Aidan is her boss, but sometimes it's just too hot to hold back. I really did like where Delaney and Aidan ended up.

Check out more of my reviews on at Home. Love. Books. - The best place to find your next book! http://www.homelovebooks.com photo synopsisgraphic.png

I really liked the idea of a woman working in what is predominately a man's field, so I was excited to start this book, especially since its a workplace romance, which is one of my favorite places for a romance to take place in. Unfortunately, this book didn't work for me at all.

First of all the book was super quick, like way to quick for any real character development. While it was easy to see how the two of them fell into a night of passion, developing the kinds of feelings that they had by the end of the book was honestly just unrealistic. Also Delaney's parents are very set in their ways and opinions and while I without a doubt was hoping Delaney would have some kind of confrontation with them, the whole thing did not play out as believable.

My second problem is with Delaney herself. She was not likable to me at all. I think maybe the author was trying to hard to make her into an independent woman, but the way that she asserted her independence just did not appeal to me at all. Right off the bat when we meet Delaney, she lies to her boss (not just her boss by the owner of the company), Aidan, in order to con her way onto this road trip. I understood that, I really did, she obviously wants to make a name for herself in the company and has put in a ton of effort for the presentation, so I was on board with that. But the second she gets in the car, she starts talking about how she wants to stop for food, or how she is going to eat in Aidan's truck even if he doesn't want her too. I mean I don't know about you guys, but if the car I am getting into has rules, I abide by them, and why is that, BECAUSE ITS NOT MY CAR. It's super disrespectful. Also it's clear that Aidan wants to get there on schedule, and Delaney find every excuse to stop, she's hungry, she has to go to bathroom like a million times, she wants to go help a lost dog (which was fine, cause I'm a dog lover, so she gets a pass on that). But her whole attitude was just terrible. Look I'm all for female empowerment, and I'm all for standing up for yourself, but this guy is the OWNER of the company, and I couldn't see myself acting this way in a car with my best friend let alone the owner of the company I worked for.

Honestly, so much of the book overwhelmed me with how much I liked Delaney everything else fell by the wayside. And every time Aidan bends to her will, she always finds a way to make it a bad thing, it's like he does what she wants and then he still gets beat up for it. I mean I just felt bad for the guy. Overall, this book was not for me at all.

Her stomach rumbled a reminder she hadn’t eaten today. Much. Fortunately, she’d packed a supply of snacks.

He loaded up the last of the easels and display charts in the bed of his truck. By the time he slammed the custom cover closed and locked it, she’d pulled a bag of corn chips from her handbag and torn it open. She shoved a couple of chips into her mouth and tossed her handbag onto the front seat as she crunched down.

Aidan’s voice cut through her thoughts. “What are you doing?”

“What? Oh. Sorry. How rude of me.” She held the opened bag toward where he sat in the driver’s seat. “I didn’t get a chance to eat anything this morning. Want some?”

“No, thanks.” His voice sounded tight as he fastened his seat belt. “I don’t eat in my truck.”

“Okay.” She took out a chip and crunched on it, corn yumminess exploding in her mouth. It might not be breakfast material, but if Harold could eat sushi, she could definitely justify corn chips.

“I don’t think you get it. No one eats in my truck.”

Great. They were still at the office and she’d already managed to piss him off. While she had to stay on his good side, it wouldn’t make sense if she keeled over from hunger before they even crossed the state line into Washington.

“I’m hungry,” she said firmly, exactly the way her favorite college professor had taught her. “And since I wasn’t able to eat because I was getting ready for this trip, I think I should be allowed to have something. Want to wait a few minutes?

Or maybe we can stop for a quick bite. There’s a Bobby Jo’s a couple of blocks away. They make great chili dogs.”

No mistaking the cringe across Aidan’s face.

“What? Do you not like chili dogs or something? I’ll buy.”

“No.”

“No, you don’t like chili dogs, or no, you don’t want me to buy?” she asked before quickly shoving more chips in her mouth.

“Both.” His tone was clipped as he continued to stare at her.

“Does this mean you aren’t going to stop?” she asked a moment later.

“Yes.”

Okay. Let’s try this again, shall we? She kept her voice calm. “Yes, you’re going to stop, or yes, you’re not going to stop? Because if you’re not going to stop, I’m telling you right now, there’s no way I’m gonna last six more hours without food.”

And a hungry Delaney wasn’t someone he’d want to deal with. She stared at him intently, tried to telegraph that fact into his ever-so-hot and ever-so-stubborn profile.

“I’m not stopping.”

“Look.” She blew out an exasperated breath. “I’ll eat over the bag so there won’t be any crumbs.”

“There are always crumbs, no matter how careful you are.”

“Okay.” Yeesh. Was he always so anal? Maybe it was a good thing he didn’t hang around the office at all. “What if I vacuum the cab out when we get back to Milestone?”

He blew out a breath even as he nodded. “I suppose that’d work.”

Thank God for small favors.

“Is it okay to drink, too?” She pulled out a bottle of Gatorade and shot him her most charming smile.

“Fine. Just get in the truck,” the man practically growled at her. “We’re behind schedule.”

And he was grumpy, too. Wasn’t this going to be a blast? This review was originally posted on Home. Love. Books. - The best place to find your next book!

**You can see this full review and more at Book Briefs: https://bookbriefs.net**Driven to Temptation is a new adult/adult crossover novel by Melia Alexander. This is the first book I have read from this author, and I have to say I liked it but I didn't love it. It is a super quick read, both in length and in amount of time passed in the actual story. I liked Driven To Temptation. I thought it was a fun read, but it ended up being just ok for me because I felt like all of it was too rushed.

Driven to Temptation is the story of Delaney and Aiden. I really liked Aiden and I mostly liked Delaney. I loved a lot of things about Delaney actually, but she had her moments of annoyance. I loved how smart she is, how driven, and how she goes out of her way to show people at work what she is capable of. But I found her to be a bit naive. Maybe naive isn't the right word choice- she is more childishly stubborn. Take her view on work attire for example. I know that she wants to be seen for her ideas and her hard work and not her body, but wearing come on. Dressing the way she did, can have a complete opposite effect. She didn't dress professionally at all. It comes across that she doesn't take herself or her job seriously. (as you can tell this is just my personal opinion on the matter.) But it did bug me how stubborn she was about everything.

I really liked Aiden, I thought he was a great guy and a good match for Delaney. My frustration with him is my frustration with the book overall. It just moved at too fast of a speed. Aiden is her boss and it only took him a couple of hours in the car, after first meeting her, to throw all of that out the window. It just didn't feel believable to me , especially since I knew how important the company is to him. I wish that the book was fleshed out a bit more so we could have witnessed a slower building connection between the characters.

On the flip side, this was a fun read and very well written, so fans of quick- read-it-in-one-afternoon, type books, might really love Driven to Temptation. It is an instant gratification read. One I enjoyed, but ultimately didn't love.

My Review:
This is my first read by this author and it definitely won't be my last. This was a great, fun, entertaining book that had a bit of a sexy geek feel to it that I loved. It's about two engineers...who both have their hang-ups.

For Aidan, he was thrown into the foster system after his parents suddenly died. It had a profound traumatic effect on him. He's closed down and closed off, socially awkward and has on almost OCD need for control of his surroundings and life. He owns this engineering company and is on his way to a trade show with his second in command...the personality of the company.

Instead he ends up on the road trip with Delaney. Delaney is also an engineer, but being raised in a family of engineers and a family of men, she's always had to work harder to prove that she is just as good at her job, if not better, than any of them. She's vibrant, full of life, and exuberant about her passion for her job. But being raised the way she has been, she has a bit of a hang-up about being female. She wears shapeless suits and balks at anything that might hint at her being weak or feminine.

The two definitely don't mesh at the beginning. Aiden needs control and Delaney challenges that at every turn. She should have a say in everything they do, too, even if she's not the one driving or in control of the company.

I enjoyed the book. It was really entertaining. I loved the geek aspect of it and I adored how amazingly brilliant Delaney is at her job. Every time she wow'ed someone I cheered her on. I also really liked the two of them together, although it takes them a bit to get on the same wavelength about where they're headed. They both have their reasons for keeping their distance that are very good ones. It's a fast moving book and relationship, but overall, it really worked for me.

I also really loved the resolution and ending...really perfect for everyone involved.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Driven to Temptation by Melia Alexander is part of her Driven to Love series. Delaney needs to prove to her whole family that she can do this job, she has no intention of becoming a housewife and mother! She wants to be like her dad, her brothers and her grandfather. They are all engineers and so is she. She has been working so hard to prove to her family and herself and she loves her job..

She now has an ideal opportunity. Her boss has food poisoning and with a little crafty planning, she makes sure that she will be the one giving the presentation at a highly prestigious and important trade show . . . she just has to get through this drive with the CEO.

The CEO is Aidan Ross and he may build beautiful buildings, and he may be an engineering genius but totally useless at interactions with people, just ask his ex wife, in fact the name Ice Man is perfect for him. He is not impressed with the fact he will have to drive to the trade show with a young woman, he was expecting one of his managers Harold. She irritates him, she eats in his truck for goodness sake! Its going to be a looooooooong drive.

Delaney proves to be a feisty, and determined young lady, a talented engineer and skilled developer. But she is proving to be a temptation, and an unwanted distraction. As the attraction between the two heats up, the journey to the trade show just gets a little more trickier for both parties. Delaney wants a career, and Aidan just wants to be left alone.

Yes this has a predictable outcome, but the journey getting there explores both characters, their flaws and their insecurities.

Aidan tries to be the gentleman whilst Delaney wants to be treated as an equal.(she can carry just as much, and why shouldn’t she open doors, and does she really need a help up in to the big truck?) characters are complex, their journey has a few chuckle moments.
And the plot has enough twists to keep you engaged.

If you like to read about a strong independent woman, the opposite of a needy, snivelling, desperate to be married female , then pick this one and enjoy.

Review: This was a short and cute romance with great characters.A perfect read to kick back and relax with during the summer!

Aidan Ross is the CEO of Ross and Associates and though he is a great leader and engineering genius, he lacks the ability to talk to people cordially. He comes off as cold and remote, which doesn't help, as he needs contacts and relationships for the growth of his firm.He has to go for a tradeshow in Seattle and is supposed to be accompanied by Harold, when Delaney joins him at his truck and informs him that she will be coming along with him as Harold is sick.

Delaney is an independent, intelligent woman with a take-charge attitude. She is sick of being underestimated because of her gender. She comes from a family of engineers and wants to prove that a female engineer can be just as successful as a male one.So, when she finds an opportunity to accompany Aidan and improve her career she takes it without hesitation.Even though Aidan is reluctant to take her along with him, he doesn't really have much of a choice since he needs someone to do the talking and schmoozing.

So, not only do they have to try their best to land a major account for the firm but they also have to resolve the attraction that sizzles between them!

Both Aidan and Delaney were great characters.I could understand the positions they were in.Delaney was trying her best to make it in a male-dominant field and at the same time was not confident enough of her own feminity.Aidan on the other hand, due to his childhood and past, was reserved and had a hard time opening up.But he tried his best too.The main focus is on this two characters alone, though we do get to see and interact with Aidan's foster brother and Delaney's parents. The romance was well-written.

My only complaint is probably that the book felt short.I guess we could have spent more time developing the relationships and circumstances.Read this book if you're looking for a light-hearted romance with well-developed characters and events. :)

ARC Review: Driven to Temptation by Melia Alexander

Ms. Alexander got my attention. I have read a great deal of authors and she reeled me in with one book. Driven To Temptation is everything you would expect from an Entangled title. A little stereotypical, a great deal of temptation and a delectable romance. Aidan is talented and understands designs better than he understands people. Not good for a man who hopes to expand his business. Delaney is spirited, smart and female. That has proven to be a drawback for her in her chosen field. What happens next is obvious of course but that does not take away from the exciting and inviting feel of their romance. Battle of the sexes that is HOT!!

I liked this book a lot. It captured my interest from chapter one. There were several laugh out loud moment, as well and parts that brought me to tears. Aidan was a very interesting character with his original Ice King persona, but if anyone one was able to thaw him out it seems to be Delaney. I loved Delaney because she is that woman not willing to bend to anyone’s expectations. She shows that ultimately she is who she is and if you don’t like it then shove it. Loved the novel and I hope there will be more soon. 4.5 Stars!

Sometimes men can be so very clueless. I liked how Delaney gave Aidan a run for his money. She wasn’t going to let him have the upper hand she worked hard to get to where she was in a man’s world and no one was going to take that away from her. Ms. Alexander made Delaney a very strong, someone to look up to. Or strive to be like. While Aidan tended to be a little clueless at times he was fun and very realistic and true to men’s natures. I enjoyed the verbal sparring in the truck about the food and the restroom breaks. It was so true to life and typical of men; or most men that is. I know I have three I used to travel with.

Ms. Alexander made the whole conference with a woman entering a man’s workspace very lifelike. When Aidan thought to buy Delaney new clothes it worked but yet it backfired which added to the realism of the story. Ms. Alexander wrote with considerable knowledge of what it is like to be a woman in a field mostly dominated by men. The interaction along with the reaction of men to Delaney ranged just how you would expect them to. They went from totally excepting to being very sexist with a few on the fence. I was able to understand the pull from both sides. The struggle to be accepted that takes what confidence you think you have down to nothing where the tears flow. The struggle seemed real. I was right there next to Delaney.

There was a strong chemistry between these two. Things tended to go fast in that department which sometimes isn’t a bad thing. I was glad that Delaney didn’t give up everything she worked so hard for just for sex and possibly a relationship. She thought things through with the help of her mentor/professor and found a plausible solution to her problems.

Overall I enjoyed this book. The characters where easy to define making them very realistic along with the vivid detail down to the tiniest of things like the dog tag…for example only helped in adding that little touch of realism to this story. Humor, a great storyline, well fleshed out characters and details…well let’s just say I look forward to reading more from Ms. Alexander. I think know I found a new author.

Grab your drink of choice that comfy spot to read and settle in for a very entertaining romance that is fun and sexy…

I was excited for this book and sadly disappointed. I could not stand the female lead Delaney. I only read half the book bc I just could not get over thjs selfish, demanding, judgemental woman. Meeting the boss Aiden and she's already off to a great start. He tells her he'll pack the boxes in his truck and she's automatically got her hackles up, just cause in a woman I can do it! attitude. When in reality he was having her carry those same boxes out from the office and then packing his truck HIS TRUCK. How is that sexist? I personally like to pack my own car. Then she insists on eating even though he doesn't want anyone eating in his truck. Sure she "hadn't eaten much" and it was a 6 hr drive. Fine be pushy and eat your bag of chips but then she just kept on opening up snacks and eating them. That to me was beyond rude. Then the 6 hr drive and I swear this women was stopping constantly to get snacks and pee. I have driven with my 3 YOUNG kids on a 7 hr trip and we stopped less then her. What really got me was he obvious judgment of stay at home moms.
"I figure I owe it to all women to stand up for what I want. If more of us do that, that’s how we’ll change the world.” She nodded once.“What if a woman wanted to marry and raise kids? Wouldn’t she still be changing the world? suppose that’s what you want, huh? Someone to be your support system while you go out and make things happen.” There
was no way to keep the irritation from her voice. Not that she’d tried very hard.“Just trying to make conversation.”“Oh, well, then. Of course she could. But only if it’s what she really wanted to do.”
And the really was italicized making it sound like she looked down at that. She goes on to say that women do that bc they are pigeonholed into that role. SERIOUSLY!!!! I had to double check to see when this book was written. Seriously a stay at home moms in 2016 (when the book was released) are not the norm, its the other way around. She was just such a bitch. I couldn't go on. I couldn't care less what happened to these characters at all

This was a cute, quick read. It features a strong, confident FMC who knows what she wants, and a socially awkward MMC who warms up like a cinnamon roll by the end of the book. The two complement each other well, each bringing their own strengths to the relationship. It’s a quick attraction, a bid of a workplace forbidden romance, but they throw caution to the wind and decide to give it a go, and they are successful. Of course it ends in a HEA, everything tying up in a neat little bow. My only issue was the dialogue, I found a lot of it felt unnatural, didn’t flow. Some of the characters responses to each other felt strange, like better wording could have been used for sure. But looking past that, it’s a great book to read while you’re getting a pedicure, which is how I started it.

At 200 pages, this book was just too short to develop the relationship in a meaningful way.

After meeting for the first time and spending 6 hours in the car together, the insta-lust was immediate. . Then after just a few days the insta-love was too sudden to be believed. The book then becomes formulaic: big misunderstanding, h runs away, H grovels and apologizes (for what, I don't know. I didn't think he did anything wrong but whatevs)

The book felt very "meh" and the romance just didn't work for me.

Wasn't head over heels in love with this book. It was way too instant love for me. One minute they met and next thing you know they are falling in love with each other! The whole story felt very immature. Definitely nothing extra special or stand out worthy to separate this book from all its competition. The characters weren't anything to write home about. All in all it won't be on my list of favorites this year.

A heroine who is an engineer

I loved, loved, loved that the heroine was an engineer and the backdrop was an engineering firm. I love that she was smart and confident and capable. I did find it a bit unbelievable though that boss/employee fall into bed with each other 10 hours after meeting for the first time and then are a full blown, in love couple after 2-3 days. I suppose there is always an exception but this just seemed not only unwise but implausible.

The writing style in this book didn't engage me although I liked the premise. I also found the first sentence of the book seemed really awkward and I went back a few times to reread it to see if I could make sense of it. I couldn't. This book was a DNF for me.

Delaney Harper will do anything to prove she has what it takes to make it in the male-dominated field of engineering, even if she has to tell a little white lie to be the one accompanying CEO, Aiden Ross, to a tradeshow. The question is -- will the gorgeous CEO be impressed with her work, or will his attitude be the same as that of her family?

Aiden Ross isn't a people person. He'd rather stay in the background, then be the face of his company. With everything riding on the upcoming presentation at a tradeshow, he can't afford any distractions. However, that's what his new road trip buddy is and if he doesn't get his head in the game, then he could lose the best thing that's ever happened to him -- a second chance at love.

What a delightful read Ms. Alexander has penned, encompassing an anti-social hero who deserves a second chance at love, and a heroine determined to prove she's capable of making it in a male-dominated career. From the opening line of this story, I was hooked as it was a good one. Yet, it was from the moment the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the very first time that had me flipping the pages quickly, determined to see whether Delaney can prove she's as good as she thinks she is.

The dialogue was entertaining, and I loved the banter between Delaney and Aiden. Can she convince Aiden to treat her like an equal? Will her presentation be able to secure the huge account that Aiden wants? There were some really good light-hearted moments between the main characters that had me smiling, especially since they make judgments about the other that turn out to be wrong. Yet, the dialogue was also intense due to the main characters back stories, and the obstacles this couple have to overcome on their journey to happy ever after. Can Aiden help Delaney when it seems she feels like she's failed in some way? Can Delaney convince Aiden that he deserves a second chance at love?

I really liked both the main characters, as well as the secondary ones. I liked Aiden's second-in-command. He has absolute faith in Delaney, and I appreciated the fact that he pushed the hero to give her a chance to prove her worth. Then there's Delaney's parents. Could she prove them wrong? Could she show them that she's just as good as any man when it comes to having a career in engineering? Indeed, I cheered that she would prove them wrong.

Delaney is strong, brave, full of confidence and her determination to prove she's good at her job made me like her a lot. Seriously, it isn't easy for her and there's a moment when she feels like she's a failure. Yet, I liked that she didn't give up and that Aiden gave her some much needed encouragement to succeed. However, is Aiden helping Delaney for her benefit, or does he have an ulterior motive? While the hero, he's socially awkward, and the nickname 'Ice King' that he earned from his ex-wife definitely shines through at various times, yet being around Delaney helps melt the ice. Really, she's good for him in the way she takes him out of his comfort zone and provides him quite the challenge.

Overall, this was a really good book where the sex scenes were hot, passionate and did justice to this couple's intense chemistry, which kept increasing every time they bantered. The way this story ended was wonderful, as Aiden pleaded for his innermost wish concerning matters of the heart to be granted. Would Delaney turn up? Would she forgive him? I liked the words he spoke to Delaney about how there's more to life than how he's been living it. I would recommend Driven to Temptation by Melia Alexander, if you enjoy second chance romances.

A great funny read. The banter was brilliant, especially in the car on a very long journey. An enjoyable few hours spent with two lovely characters. Well worth a read.

Standalone with HEA light hearted road trip romance between a boss and employee!

Driven to Temptation was my first book by Melia Alexander but I will definitely be considering reading more of Melia’s work as I thoroughly enjoyed this relatively sweet, well written, romance between two very likeable characters, Delaney and Aidan. Yes, the book was a little bit predictable but not everything in it This standalone book with a HEA incorporates the theme of a boss and employee romance that develops out of the office on a road trip for work.

Told from both Delaney and Aidan’s perspectives, Driven to Temptation gives the reader a wider understanding of both characters and their thoughts, especially Aidan who is more reserved. After these two likeable characters are introduced and their first awkward moments are gotten over, there is a clear chemistry that builds between the pair through some very interesting experiences. Delaney is a strong female who has a quiet confidence about herself, which is boosted by her knowledge in her field, while Aidan is a socially awkward and reserved owner of the company, his past troubles leading to who he is today. As the book evolves, we get to see both characters evolve in a natural way, or as mush as possible given the short period of time in which the book is set (only a couple of days). Also, I liked the dynamic of seeing both in the same career and the respect Aidan gives Delaney for her knowledge and how once comfortable with her, treats her as an equal without being forced to.

The book has a good writing style and flow, moving at fast pace with the book set over a couple of days. The writing adopts a slightly witty style, especially with Delaney, but it worked well. There are some predictable parts to the plot and some wacky scenario’s you wouldn’t predict (all I will say is Fifi). I personally liked how we got an epilogue a few months later to round off Delaney and Aidan’s story to give them a HEA in this standalone book.

Overall, if you are looking for a relatively light hearted romance to pass a few hours but with enough drama to keep you interested and eager to keep reading, I would recommend this book.

Aidan Ross is many things, brilliant, owner of Ross and Associates, former military, among other things, but a people person is not on that list, as he prefers working from home and is somewhat socially awkward. Something he's been told numerous times that he needs to work on. Easier said than done when that type of personality goes against your natural tendencies.

Delaney, an engineer and two year long employee of Ross and Associates, is trying to be patient. Not only was the boss, Aidan, late, which granted is very unusual for him, but now he's expecting her to fetch coffee, then she has to talk herself into being a part of the trip.

Delaney is determined to prove herself as she accompanies Aidan to a trade show in Seattle, in lieu of his second-in-command, Harold, as he's sick. Delaney knows this trip is the next step towards achieving her goal. She's had enough of people doubting her skills and abilities in a mostly male dominated world and envisions opening her own engineering company, featuring only women.

As the trip progresses, with a few unforeseen stops that make the time and itinerary conscious Aidan twitch, it's easily apparent that there's chemistry burning between the two of them and neither are sure how to proceed.

Can Aidan give her the freedom to show him how qualified she is in her job? Will Delaney get the approval and opportunity she's striving for? Can Aidan truly open himself up to her and let go of his past? Will Delaney take a chance with her boss, knowing all she's risking if things don't work out? What happens when their different ways of viewing life clash? Can they understand things from the other's viewpoint or will it come between them, ruining the connection they've built?  Will Delaney's dream for her professional goals change and become something she truly craves? Will they each accomplish their goals both personally and professionally? Is their a HEA in the future for these two?

One-click now and find out. I liked the premise of this story and how open Delaney was versus how closed off Aidan seems. Opposites do attract and it's usually an interesting journey to observe as it unfolds.

Aidan Ross is a man who likes to be in control. A distinguished military man, he is now the owner of his own successful engineering company, which is growing in leaps and bounds. Preferring solitude, he lets his right-hand man, Harold, deal with the clients and the social element of this business. On occasion, he is forced to come into the office, and today is one of those days. Picking up Harold and travelling to an important trade show shouldn't take too long considering he has everything meticulously planned. But when fate steps in and Aidan finds himself travelling with Delaney, an engineer that works for him, maybe it is time for him to loosen his reins of control and take a chance.

Delaney Harper has worked hard to make a name for herself in what is considered the male world of engineering. Determined to be judged for her expertise and intelligence, she makes a point of being one of the boys and wants to prove to her family that she can thrive in this environment. When she spots an opportunity to show her elusive boss the programme that she has developed, Delaney jumps at the chance. What she did not expect is the sexual energy that seems to be sparking between them. Finding Aidan to be charming, clever, infuriating and confusing, she cannot stop her feelings from growing. But when she overhears a conversation, Delaney doubts everything between them. Can two people, with their own baggage and feelings of inadequacy, allow themselves a shot at a real relationship?

DRIVEN TO TEMPTATION by Melia Alexander is an easy, enjoyable read. Delaney is my favourite of the two characters - feisty, clever, independent and honest, she really stood out to me. Aidan is more controlled, trying to deal with his past, and has a harder time dealing with his emotions and conversation. A little slow to start, the novel became more engaging as the plot developed. DRIVEN TO TEMPTATION is a lovely, light, fun, contemporary romance - perfect for reading on your lunch break, in the sun.

Delaney Harper is on a mission to prove to her family that she can succeed in the man driven world of construction, and wants to show them that she has what it takes to own and run her own her business in the engineering world. Now she just has to convince her boss to give her the opportunity to run the show on a project, if she can do that, and be successful, then maybe her family will finally take her seriously. When the opportunity presents itself, she grabs it by both hands and hitches a ride to the big leagues... and boy oh boy what a ride it turns out to be!

When it comes to engineering Aidan Ross is a genius, but when it comes to the public relations part of the job his skills tend to be lacking, so he normally depends on another man, Harold, for that job, the two of them are the perfect team. But when it's time to attend a tradeshow and showcase their next big project, his partner falls ill, and he's left to run the show on his own... that is until Harold's beautiful co-worker offers up her services. He knows he needs the help, but isn't so sure he can trust himself around Delaney, she is a distraction that he can't really afford right now... a distraction that could easily derail his carefully planned project!

This was my first book by this author and I must say I really enjoyed it, it was funny, sexy and oh so entertaining! When I read the synopsis for this one I knew it would be unlike my usual reads, but something about it intrigued me so I decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be a refreshing change of pace for me! I really enjoyed meeting these two, and I look forward to future visits to the series!! Highly recommend this one, it's an sexy little page turner sure to satisfy all your reading needs and then some!!

I found it difficult to connect with both of the main characters.
