a very logical book , this could be just mine perception but the version of different stories i read in this book like evolution , creation of Adam , creation of mother earth itself , development of human mind and instincts of human nature was something new for me. I thought it would be simple book regarding pedigree of pashtuns and indeed it is but in order to find the roots of Pashtuns , the writer dug so deep into history and started from creation of this universe . and straightly rejected the few popular theories about origin of pashtuns based on very weak arguments.
Barq sahab pointed to this himself in the preface saying " i belong to a farmer background and have experience that to take out a tree from soil you have to dig deep upto its roots scattered on a large land ".
Barq sahab gave importance to dualism as core foundation of this universe and driving force of evolution on this universe . he rejected the idea of "pure nation" or "pure cast" and insisted that this is a devilish concept , we all are connected somewhere back in the history .

Mr Saadullah Jan Barq seems to be a prolific writer with full command on the evolution of mankind and the creation of universe itself. The subject matter of the book as it’s title indicates is the racial origin of Pashtuns, a fifty million ethnic group living in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Pashtuns since last many centuries believes that they belong to the lost tribes of Isreal which migrated, after being expelled from Jerusalem, to the Hindukush mountains of Afghanistan. Mr Barq rejects this theory on the basis of scientific and historical evidence and highlight the Aryan origin of almost all tribes and communities living in the Central and South Asia regions. He also rejects the theory of a single origin or pure blood for Pashtuns or other races of India. He states that the Sakas Kushans Huns Turks Moghuls and Afghan- Pashtuns who invaded Central Asia and Indian Subcontinent are from the same stock. That even Dravidians are not different from these races ethnically. The ideology of Mr Barq is that the entire humanity and history starts from one ancestor and no nation especially Pashtuns can claim to have racial superiority claim over other nations. The approach of the book is Scientific and logical with an enormous account of world history however the issue of Pashtun descent could have been adequately addressed in less than half of the 600 pages book.

He proposed an uncanny idea about the origin of Pashtun race. His exposition is quite interesting substantiated by scientific and historical facts. However, this subject needs further probing. A must read for specific readers interested in the subject.

I read the Pashto version of the book. To my knowledge, the Urdu version is more well composed and a revised work.

I would describe the book as a remarkable work of research and storytelling.
It is a notable source of information for those who has interest in human history and particularly in the history of Indo European. The dissection and comparison of various ancient mythologies is an extraordinary work done by the author.

Through a rational and scientific research, the author rejects the rumors about the origin of Pashtuns and bring forward a very credible and academically celebrated theory about the origin of Pashtuns.

The book is not only about Pashtuns. It talks about evolution, human history, origin of mythologies, religions, power and class struggle and many other topics.
