The past doesn't have to define the future... With an abusive past that continues to haunt her, Hillary can only dream of a life in which she's happy. And when Jameson, a shy boy she never noticed in high school, reappears in her life, she starts to wonder if her dreams can become reality. Hillary must overcome her feelings of insecurity, and past fears if she wants their relationship to survive. But with the love she's always craved being so close, perhaps it's time to stop listening to the voices telling her that she isn't good enough.
By day, Taryn is a dedicated wife and mother who works full time. By night, she continues her wife and mother duties, while plugging away at the keyboard to bring her stories and characters to life.
Taryn is an avid reader. If a story sucks her in she will stay up all hours of the night to finish it. Her favorite part of reading is when her rescue dog Ruby curls up with her.
Taryn is a big sports fan. Being a New Englander all of her life her heart belongs to the Boston Red Sox. When it comes to hockey, she follows her husband’s family and supports the Montreal Canadiens. If you have a love/hate relationship with coffee, wine or beer like Taryn she will instantly befriend you.
I was gifted this book by Taryn Steele for an honest review and I want to be honest, and admit that this one challenged me.
The storyline itself was quite complex and very compelling, but it is how it was conveyed that I struggled with. It is written in the first person, where we meet Hillary, a girl who hasn't been given an opportunity to exactly know what it is like to be truly loved. Apart from her father, she lives in loveless family environment where her mother treats her more like a boarder than a daughter. Craving that affection and love, Hillary finds herself in an abusive relationship which once ended has an impact on how she believes people see her. It is a very enthralling story and you feel for her and what she has had to endure.
When she reconnects with Jameson, a boy she went to school with, you watch as she struggles to believe that she is worthy of his love. Her self-doubt in herself is evident and very heartbreaking to read. This is a cliff hanger though, so this book leaves you wondering how it will all play out for her.
I loved the concept of the storyline and it has the potential to be an amazing novel, I just struggled with how it was written in different areas.
For a debut novel, I do believe it was worthy of four stars, because there was some much heart put into creating such a heart warming story.
Taryn Steele This is Taryn Steele's first novel and definitely not her last. I had the privilege of meeting Taryn and her husband a few months ago at a book signing event. What an awesome couple! She told me about her story and I couldn't wait to add it to my "To Read" list. And now I can finally add it to the "Read" shelf!
I found her characters real, honest, and understandable. I wanted more for Hillary than to be oppressed and abused by the people that are supposed to love her and those she chose to love. As Hillary works through her insecurities she meets the man that will stand by her and support her unconditionally. I was cheering for her and Jameson from the moment he enters the story. Love can be hard, love with baggage can be difficult, love with family members like these two have make it nearly impossible.
I'm not the type of girl that writes up a synopsis, but I will say you should read this story! I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one! And Taryn, hurry up, I want to know what happens next! :)
Wow!!! I tell you what, there seemed to be so much going on in this book, here there and everywhere. Ok this may not make sense, and you would think a negative, but there was just something about this book that I can't put my finger on, I liked it, but didn't, and well I just couldn't help but keep turning those pages. What I think I struggled with was I didn't connect with Hillary in the beginning, but as the story was unfolding, I started to start to see her in a different light, and slowly and surely I started to like her. Hillary and Jameson together, I liked that and gee did those two fight hard for each other. Oh my goodness me!! I don't think I have read a book before that had so many nasty and mean people in a person 's life and both Hillary and Jameson had them in spades. However they both did have some positive, loyal people in their lives. Now to some this may not be a cliff hanger ending more of a To be continued......... BUT if you read the book, and get to that last statement, you can't help but feel it's a cliff hanger. I do want to read the next book, actually I can't wait, I am greedy to see what happens. I would recommend to read this book and well the premise of this, we are all GOOD ENOUGH!!!! Reviewed for HeadTripping Books by Carolyn.

This is a debut novel from this author, and I will be honest, I did struggle with the concept of how this novel was written, but I have to say that I would definitely read more of Taryn’s work. Hillary is a very complex individual who has been through an abusive relationship which has impacted on how she lives her life going forward. She believes that she will never have anybody in her life who will truly love her. Jameson is a boy that she went to school with, and when they reconnect Hillary struggles to believe that he is being honest with her. Slowly Jameson gives Hillary the self-confidence to believe that she can be loved and to stop running when things get tough. This book end in a cliff-hanger so be warned. Personally I cannot wait for the second part to be released to see what the future has in store for these characters.
To say that there are so many things I can relate to in this book is an understatement. Feeling not good enough is an awful feeling, but trying to overcome that is very empowering. Falling in love is the easy part, but with the one you love comes their family. I found my heart aching with her pain, shaking my head with all the crazy family drama & hoping for her happily ever after because she deserves it. Be warned...Hugh cliffhanger, but I am sure it will be worth the wait.
I think this was a fantastic first novel by a wonderful author. The story told the ups and downs of a small town girl (Hillary) who finally got to experience what true love was and learned to know she was in fact good enough.
The book made me laugh out loud and shed a tear in the end. I can't wait for the next installment of the "Enough" series to see where live leads for Jameson and Hillary.
I went through so many feelings when reading this book. I could really relate to it. In some part of the book I wasnt liking it and thought I was going to stop reading because it hit close to my heart but I pushed through and I am so glad that I did. This will be one of the ones that I put on my re-read list for sure.
Wow Hilary goes through some things from her mother being a horrible person growing up to her first love doing unmentionable things! She was pregnant but she loses the baby because her ex kicks her so hard she loses the baby and that makes her the way she is it makes her cold but than she meets mike but he turns into a doush as well!! But her friend she's known for a while might turn out to be her Prince Charming but first she has to get over horrible boyfriend mothers and jealous girls and be intimate! This is a new author to me and I can't wait to read more!
Hillary has an abusive life with her mother, her dad is great. She has a lot of ups and downs until her and Jamison start dating. Things are fairly smooth until they are engaged and his mother try’s to intervene anyway she can. It’s a great story and well written. First book by this author for me. Ends in a cliffhanger.
