Follow the Little Green Frog as he introduces your baby or toddler to his friends by the pond including ducks, fish, turtles, and more in this adorable lift-a-flap board book. Simple sentences reinforce future language structure while grasping and lifting the sturdy flaps helps develop fine motor skills. A perfect first book!
Loved this book! Reminded me of when we had frogs in my neighborhood. Animals can often connect with small children in a unique and meaningful way (I think that is one of the reasons why cartoons are so popular). This flap board book has the additional benefit of letting a small child 'find' new things as they read the book.
This was a favorite when my kids were babies. The pages and flaps are thick, perfect for little hands. It rhymes. Beneath every flap is an animal. When I read it, I would always sound surprised and excited by what I found under the flaps.
I love books with flaps, and this one is great because the flaps are nice and thick so I can't accidentally rip them off. It is not a very long book so I usually make mom read it 2-3 times in a row. There were lots of animals in this book, including a few I didn't know before. Now I know about raccoons, and lizards. Lots of them are sleeping in this book, and I tell mom about it every time. At the end, the raccoon wakes up!
For the attention-grabbing illustrations to the durability of the book itself, we love this one! Road-trips are so much happier when I remember to bring it along for my toddler to look through in her car seat. Toys often get tossed to the floor but she hangs on to this, often pointing out and giggling at the cutest little animals throughout. When we read it at home it is even more fun to see the interaction of the lift-and-flap pages and she will always want to read it again and again!
Little green frog tours the forest, oblivious to the fact that he is easy prey for the nearest snake or heron.
A simple, well-constructed interactive board book with a generic (but not forced) story, to the degree there is a story at all. See also: Little Yellow Bee
This has it all—animals, rhymes, flaps. Love it. Peekaboo is hot in our household right now. Oz man seems lukewarm on this text but I’m going to keep suggesting this one because it’s great. Secret raccoon!
Hell yeah who doesn’t love a good frog…and what kid doesn’t love lifting a flap to FIND a frog. I mean, there are other animals too like ducks, raccoons etc hiding under their own flaps but yeah, we had a good time with this one.
Normally flap books have these thin cardboard flaps that easily get worn out. BUT NOT THIS BOOK. This book has sturdy flaps. I am a HUGE fan of these flaps. Plus the rhymes are cute. But really the flaps are the best!!!! Highly recommend for you flap lovers out there.
These sweet illustrations and endearing but are overly compensating for the poor storylines. When I opened my happy meal I was not entertained by the lackluster ending of a racoon.
