Best Laid Plans

Rate this book
Sometimes, it's better not to make plans.

Samantha Queezy and Wilbur Dale are madly in love. Spending as much as they can together, their lives quickly become entwined. Their blissful romance runs into complications, however, when Sam casually shares her youthful plan of marrying for money. Wil takes great pleasure in teasing Sam about her lack of ethics while slowly becoming obsessed with the idea. Their relationship begins to fray around the edges and both Sam and Wil have to decide what matters the most.

Best Laid Plans: a romance novel is a humorous exploration of good intentions and poorly made plans, with occasional moments of pathos. Return to the world and friends we met in Mistakes Were Made: a comedic romance, and laugh, cringe, and celebrate their successes.

Filled with unforgettable characters, including Wil's aggravating older brother and delightful niece and Sam's colleagues and patients at Misty Forests Recovery and Adult Living Center, you'll love spending time in this quirky world. This book is perfect for a summer afternoon or a rainy night in front of the fire, and is a delightful vacation read.

About the author

Taylor Rush

5 books28 followers
Taylor is deeply committed to eating, reading, and writing.

Growing up in Portland, Taylor spent a lot of time digging around in the woods and daydreaming with legos. After going back east for college, Taylor returned to Portland with dreams of saving the world. After being kicked in the shins by reality for a number of years, Taylor got into technology, data organization, and helping people manage their knowledge. This was great fun, but the stories kept bubbling out.

Taylor has no pets due to allergies, but has a dream of guinea pigs. Taylor has no tattoos due to anxiety. Taylor does have an excellent appetite, so the anxiety isn't too bad.

Taylor lives with Devon and three guinea pigs. They all like to eat, socialize, and watch people.
Some of Taylor's favorite dishes include: fried orecchiette, spring rolls, flaming lava bowls, and hand pulled noodle dishes. Taylor is considering a guinea pig tattoo in 2016.

I loved it! I ordered it right after reading Best Laid Plans and now I'm going to order Good Fortune because I'm just so curious what happens next, what a buildup!! I love how the story imitates real life in it's unexpected twists and turns and complicated goodbyes that may not actually be goodbyes, and that the other love interests are also likeable, relatable characters. Looking forward to more!!

I received this through Goodreads in return for an honest review. I've given this a 4* review. This was an ok read. While parts were really good, other parts were lackluster. At the end, it sort of left me hanging, not quite feeling like it was the end. And since I don't care to read more of this series, I'll never know how it ends up.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and Goodreads in exchange for an honest review. This book was a cute fast read. I like the author's writing style. I was not sure if I would like the book based on the write-up on the cover, but it turns out that was not the central part of the story.

I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway. I enjoyed the book. It had kind of a slow start, but it really picked up in the middle and characters started to have a clearer voice. By the end I was genuinely interested in the characters and I am interested in reading more of this series.

I received a free copy of this book from Goodreads. I though it was an ok. It was a book about relationships which I usually like but I wish the characters were more developed and more realistic. Perhaps my expectations were too high and I should accept this as more of a fun read.

Really fast, easy read. The characters are well developed and down to earth. The story line manages to stay interesting while being normal, every day, regular events. Definitely not your everyday dream come true romance novel.

Try a different kind of romance! This one is a fun, unique, light-hearted romance set in Portland, with quirky, hip humor and characters with foibles.
