Anatomy and Physiology for Midwives

Rate this book
This exciting new textbook gives a thorough and well-illustrated presentation of anatomy and physiology for midwives and midwifery students. Anatomy and Physiology for Midwives covers the scientific aspects of midwifery, such as pharmacology and immunology, from an introductory level to clinical application. To provide a more concrete learning experience, it includes case studies and examples of recent research. This textbook also provides a thorough introduction to anatomy, physiology, and basic science for those training to be midwives who have no anatomy or physiology background. Because of its level of detail, it is also useful to those students already qualified as nurses who are now training to be midwives.

Educational. Informative. Written in such an obtusely formalized style as to be nearly inaccessible. I feel like it takes work to make such a dynamic topic as midwifery so very dry… so, kudos for that? Oy.

Loved the detail in this book while being still practical and understandable. Everything about baby development and birth is fascinating

Great book. Very in-depth. Only drawback with it--the binding completely fell apart with only one month of use.
