Personality A Global View by leading scholar Eric Shiraev takes a dynamic, integrated, and cross-cultural approach to the study of personality. The text is organized around three general Where did personality theories come from? How did the theorists study facts? How do we apply personality theories now? These questions provide a consistent focus on social context, interdisciplinary science, and applications. Going beyond traditional research from the Western tradition, the book also covers theories and studies rooted in the experiences of other countries and cultures.
This textbook was incredibly easy to read and understand. Even if a person hasn't had any other experience in psychology courses, this book explains each concept thoroughly enough that it isn't necessary.
Of course this is a textbook I had for a college course. Mind you, it is a learning compilation and not fiction. I have found this book extremely informative and intriguing. The aspects of personality traits, theories, etc are discussed and measured. If you are interested in learning more about personality theories, this is a wonderfully structured book to read.
