Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . .

The Bachelor Auction is book one in the brand new series, The Bachelors of Arizona by Rachel Van Dyken. This book was my very first book by Ms. Van Dyken and was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review by Grand Central Publishing.

Bachelor Auction - Rachel Van Dyken:

This book had a definite modern day “Cinderella” vibe to it but still was completely unique in it’s own way. Yes, we have shoes involved, and some evil sisters and one very handsome Hero. But I don’t think the original Cinderella and her prince got to have any fun hanky panky before the ball. Or have a crazy rooster or an escape artist donkey at the ranch! Let the craziness begin!

crazy rooster:

Plain Jane as she thinks of herself, lives with her two older sisters. They lost their parents many years before. Her father’s dying wish was for her to keep the family together. So Jane took the vow to heart and does whatever it takes to keep her sisters Esmeralda and Essence, happy. She cooks, cleans, bails them out of debt with her own earnings, even though they are both lawyers. Jane runs a house cleaning service, a business she took over from her father after he died. While Jane is a beautiful spirit that tries to see the good in everyone, her sisters are the devil. They manipulate and cajole Jane to do whatever they want. And Jane lets them, all in the name of family. Is this really what her father would have wanted?

Brock Wellington is the oldest of three boys. They lost their parents when Brock was twelve and the twins were much younger. They were taken in and raised by their Grandfather, Charles. Brock still mourns his parents and feels responsible for their loss. Brock hasn’t allowed himself to be happy since. He owes everything to his Grandfather and never says no to him. Even though he hates his life. He is being groomed to take his Grandfather’s place in Wellington Enterprises. But the shareholders aren’t convinced that Brock and his brothers, Brant and Bentley can handle the business. In a public relations ploy, Grandfather has planned an auction where Brock will be auctioned to the highest bidder for a date. All proceeds will go to cancer research. And the press will be great for the company. But Grandfather also wants Brock to choose a wife and give him some grandkids. Will he force Brock to marry the winning bidder? This is not what Brock wants.

“In a world where things for the past ten years had felt so wrong,
He felt right.”

Bachelor Auction - Rachel Van Dyken:

Then, Brock sees her. Across the room in a night club their eyes meet and his world stops. Jane’s sisters had dragged her out of the house to be their driver on a night out. Jane hated places like this. That is until she saw him! The most beautiful man she’d ever seen. And then he saved her from being nearly trampled on the dance floor.

“What was it about this woman? This small, intimidating woman with her silky brown hair and chocolate eyes?”

man and woman playing in the mud:

Let the madness begin! Jane and Brock find themselves pawns in quite a game. Going back to the ranch where Brock hasn’t been since he lost his parents, forced him to finally face the ghosts that have haunted him. But it was Jane that helped him to finally face his fears.

“That was the thing about death. It haunted the living, until they mourned it. And the more it was ignored, the bigger it grew. Until survival was near impossible.”

Brock and Jane’s time together will run out when Brock has to return home for the auction. Will his Grandfather force him to marry the winner? Or will Brock finally find the strength to stand up to him and tell him how he really feels? And what about Jane’s sisters? Is it finally time she stops letting them treat her like their personal slave?

couple on a horse:

I loved the way this all played out. It was genius and there were so many players involved. I also need to mention that I am in love with Brock’s twin brothers. They completely stole my heart. Bentley, by the way, will be the subject of the second book in the series. There is a definite story there and I can’t wait to learn what it is.

So jump on in and meet the Wellingtons and get ready for a crazy ride and also get ready for them to all three steal your heart.

“She was the only woman who had offered something money couldn’t buy.
Her heart.”

The Bachelor Auction is a modern-day spin on the classic fairytale, Cinderella. The story is filled with humor, angst, and steam – enough to keep this reader fully entertained. I’m not quite used to reading this type of story by Rachel Van Dyken but it’s obvious that she is a very versatile author and can practically write anything she puts her mind to.

Brock Wellington is the oldest of three sons. His parents were killed in a tragic accident years ago and since then he has thrown himself into the family business. He seems to think his parent's deaths were his fault and to escape the pain he spends all of his time working and has not bothered with personal relationships. His grandfather plans to remedy the situation. He informs Brock that he is going to auction him off to marry a woman who makes the highest bid. At first, Brock is more than pissed and totally against going through with the auction but when his grandfather’s health comes into question, Brock backs down and agrees to go through with it. No woman has ever been lucky enough to catch his eye, but at the auction announcement party, he ends up rescuing a damsel in distress, but it could turn out that she ends up rescuing him instead.

Jane is the youngest of three sisters. Her father recently passed away and his dying request of Jane was to make sure she kept the family together. It’s been a rough time for Jane because her two older sisters are anything but loving towards her. They spend all of their time whining and bossing poor Jane around. Her sisters force her to attend some fancy party with them and she ends up getting into a scuffle with them on the dance floor, which causes a wardrobe malfunction but a handsome stranger comes swiftly to her rescue. Brock and Jane feel an instant attraction to each other but Jane runs off thinking that she doesn’t stand a chance with Brock since for most of her life she’s been the invisible and dull sister. Days later Brock is still thinking about the woman who captivated him at the party and does his best to try and find her but her name wasn’t anywhere on the party guest list. His luck is about to turn around thanks to his Grandfather.

Brock heads out to his family’s cabin for a vacation which was forced upon him by his grandfather. Jane owns her own cleaning service and one day receives a call from a strange old man, claiming to be her fairy godfather, who hires her for a three-week assignment in which she will stay at a luxurious cabin and only has to clean the place and take care of some of the farm animals. At first, she thinks the man is nuts but when he offers her a hefty salary and her sisters get a little more than overbearing, she decides the job could also serve as a much-needed vacation from her life. When Brock and Jane run into each other at the cabin, they don’t exactly get off on the right foot. Gone is the Prince Charming who saved Jane from being trampled on and in his place is one seriously rude douchebag!! Brock is anything but respectful towards Jane. He is belligerent and condescending every time he’s in her presence. But later on we’ll find out what has Brock all wound up and it does help Jane to forgive some of his rude behavior. Even when he was being a complete prick to her, Jane couldn’t help fight the strong attraction she felt for Brock.

These two have never felt such a connection with anyone else before but they both believe nothing can become of it since Brock is due to marry whoever the highest bidder is at his grandfather’s auction. They try to keep things platonic but that will prove to be an impossible feat.

Will love prevail and allow the girl who has lived in the shadows for too long, to ride off into the sunset towards her HEA with her very own Prince Charming? You’ll have to pick this one up to find out!!

If you’re looking for a light enjoyable read that is low on angst, then this book might just hit the spot for you! THE BACHELOR AUCTION is available now!

A modern day Cinderella meets her prince in this fun and witty tale of two complete opposites, a cock, and an ass named Sheldon.

Jane was sure that her one meeting with the handsome stranger that saved her from an embarrassing dance floor incident would be just that, one meeting and one meeting only. So when a mysterious older, little bit crazy, gentleman hires her cleaning service and needs her to be a live-in maid at his ranch the last thing she expected was to meet her stranger there. And she definitely wasn't expecting her Prince Charming to turn into an evil toad.

Brock Wellington wants nothing to do with his families ranch and hates stepping foot inside the house that holds too many memories. But when his grandfather requests that Brock be auctioned off as a billionaire bachelor, and that the bidder would potentially become his wife, it's the one place he could escape to to think. The last thing he expected was to run into his mystery girl from the dance, and he doesn't want her there bringing up even more memories that he want's to keep buried.

New Adult, Contemporary, Suspense...I don't care what kind of romance it is, Rachel Van Dyken can write it. I've read multiple books by her and I have loved every single one. Her writing style and unique way of always adding some humor in subtle ways draws me in every time, and I don't think I'll ever get enough. This story was no different from her usual style and I really enjoyed reading it.

The characters were great to get to know and I liked that they were easy to relate to and connect with. Not that their situation was one I think anyone has ever been in before, but the writing made it easy to read about Jane and Brock as if you were being told a story about your best friends. I think that's why I liked them so much and wanted more of them. Even in the beginning when I had my doubts about Jane's personality and if I could like her, it was still fun to read about her life.

Bottom line, if you're a fan of this author, or genre, or just like the cover, read this book. It's funny and real, and there's a hot billionaire in it so really only insane people should be the ones not wanting to read this.

A wee bit of manipulation gets the job done.

Are you the type of person who says yes more than no? Is it easier to keep the peace and agree to do things you really want to say no to? I'll be honest, before kids I was definitely the kind of person who tried to make everyone happy, especially family. Having children changes your life. We all know it, but, it's amazing how quickly NO becomes easier to say. It also can become one of your most frequently used words -

No, don't eat that.

No, don't touch that.

No, don't climb on that.

No, don't play with your boy bits in public.

In The Bachelor Auction we meet our two main characters who struggle saying no. I can certainly relate to it, but I do think they both had an extreme problem with it. This problem has led them both to be living unhappy lives.

Jane lives with two very despicable sisters. They are evil, selfish and completely irresponsible. The sisters use Jane as their personal slave. She lets them. Yes, she knows she's being taken advantage of, but before their father died he asked her to keep the family together. The wicked sisters use this to their advantage.

One night Jane gets dragged out by her sisters where she meets her Prince Charming. The night ends with magic slippers and stolen kisses. Unfortunately, she has to return to her real world, but everything has changed. Jane eventually reaches the end of her tolerance with her witchy sisters and when a job opportunity magically appears she jumps at it. For the first time ever, she's leaving her OLDER sisters to fend for themselves.

Brock has spent most of his living years scared to say no. The last time he did say no to someone he loved, it changed his world forever. It's easier to say yes to his Grandfather's manipulations. Best not to say no in case it has repercussions. If it leaves him unhappy, unfulfilled, sad and lonely...well, that's just the price to pay.

One night a woman grabs his attention and doesn't let go. He's in unfamiliar territory but knows deep down he shouldn't let this fairytale Cinderella leave without a pair of magical slippers to remember him by.

Behind the scenes, there's a wee bit of manipulation going on. Brock's younger brothers, along with their Grandfather, think it's time to shake up his world.

When Prince Charming and Cinderella meet again it's not the fairytale either were hoping for. There are unkind words used to scare away the temptation of risking getting hurt. Their obligations are always in the back of their minds. Can they...should they...will they risk their hearts?

I really enjoyed The Bachelor Auction. This modern day fairytale made me smile. Both Jane and Brock had a sizzling attraction that jumped off the pages. In the intimate scenes, we can see and believe their connection. There were admittedly times that frustrated me and left me sad. I hated not seeing the horrible sisters suffer and get their just desserts.

I will definitely be reading more of this series in the future and hope Bentley's fairytale isn't too painful.

THREE GLASS SLIPPER STARS.

"Cinderella never had to deal with this crap."

description

Fairy tale themed romance? Allow me to sign straight on the dotted line. Yes, fellow readers I was drawn in hook, line and sinker with the promise of a Cinderella themed romance and whilst I was hoping for a heroine with a little more backbone I still throughly enjoyed this romantic adventure. A little on the saccharine side, but it also provided plenty of swoon and yummy heat to go alongside. Van Dyken has written some of my favourite romance stories over the years and I'm pretty sure I can expect a repeat performance in the future.

description

What did I love?
Surprisingly what stuck out for me most whilst reading this book was the supporting characters. No, not the annoying sisters of the heroine. It was in fact the mischievous twin brothers of the hero. Yes, this cheeky duo won my attention and quite frankly I'm dying to see if Van Dyken puts these loveable characters into the spot light. I also adored the easy going nature of the story telling which always comes naturally to this author. As per the norm with this author she brought humour combined with a very sweet happily ever after that left me feeling liked I'd stepped into a modern day fairy tale. Overall a very likeable tale that's certainly left room for the secondary characters of this story to have their own book.

Why not five?
As much as I enjoyed this Cinderella inspired story I lacked a connection with the main characters which in turn then made all the highlights of this novel a little dull. Had I found the relationship between the protagonists more engaging I think this book would have stolen more stars. However, as likeable as this tale turned out to be, it was like that won the day and unfortunately I found myself a little underwhelmed.

description

Final thoughts ...
Rachel Van Dyken is an author that combines humour and love in the best kind of way. Those who already love this author I'm sure will be pleased to read this contribution to their romance libraries. And as for those are looking for a light hearted, romantic comedy nothing should stop you from giving this book a whirl. As for myself I'll never regret jumping into work by this best selling author and I'm happy to have given this particular book my best shot. Enjoy ... kisses.

Review at Of Pens and Pages.

Who doesn’t love a good rags to riches love story? Especially one very (huge emphasis on the very) loosely based on Cinderella. The Bachelor Auction stars Brock Wellington, the eldest of Charles Wellington’s three grandsons. For some reason, Brock’s grandfather wants to auction him off. Highest bidder gets a date, and hopefully a walk down the aisle. In one of the pre-auction parties, he meets Just Jane with the broken heels. Jane who saw him as Just Brock.

After saving Jane from a mishap with her sisters, she disappears with only the broken heel as his reminder that she exists. He only sees her again when his grandfather forced him to go on a vacation in their ranch and he finds Jane cleaning the house. Apparently, she was hired tidy up the place for the new tenant… a.k.a. Brock. Now, he has to fight off his attraction for her all the while fighting the ghosts he left behind when his parents died.

Loved Rachel Van Dyken’s previous works, so I figured I would love this, too. Her writing style is amazing as always, and I love the humor injected in this story, but sadly there were things that put me off from loving this. I almost DNF-ed this multiple times, but well, my momma taught me not to be a quitter.

The only character I probably liked was Bentley. He’s immature, sure, but he’s sweet and mischievous in an annoyingly-endearing little brother kind of way. He made me laugh and a little interested in how his love life would go. For me, he’s the book’s saving grace. And maybe Nancy, the grandmother from one of the partner companies of the Wellington’s business.

Brock is an entitled a*hole. Putting it here now because he just pissed me off. I hate it when characters act like total d*ckheads and excuse it with a tragic past. Just… no. I hated how he treated Jane like she was his emotional punching bag. Just because she was “the easy target”. He said that, too. Multiple times.

He was literally going to get a medal for being an a*hole. It wasn’t her fault, but she was the easiest target…”

He knew it was wrong to release his anger and frustration on her, but he still did it anyway because of the ghosts from the past haunting him. Cut the crap boy and sit down. I need to teach you how to treat a girl.

Jane’s a good person who likes to clean up things, but I wasn’t a fan of her being a pushover. Brock treated her meanly yet she still somehow falls for him. He treated her like crap then gave her a few crumbs to make it up for her, and there she was, eating it all up. Her sisters, the perfect evil Cinderella-esque sisters in the story, were horrible, horrible people, and I hope to never meet anyone like them.

Mainly, what bothered me was that both the hero and heroine made their own excuses for not doing what they should have been doing the whole time. There’s selflessness, and there’s blaming everything else for choosing not to do what it is you gotta do.

This is a ‘it’s not you, it’s me’ situation. It had too much drama for my taste. I like my men broody, but Brock is not it.

The Bachelor Auction is a modern day twist on Cinderella. This is the first full-length novel I have read like this and I liked how it wasn’t a complete match, but I could see the similarities between the stories

Jane, our heroine, works as a maid and has two awful sisters. She basically does everything for these two horribly lazy women. I wish Jane had stood up more to them, but again this is Cinderella with a twist, so naturally Jane was more meek and mild. Jane is offered a very lucrative job cleaning Brock’s house and it's an opportunity she can't pass up.

Our hero, Brock, was your typical prince charming. He is loyal, dependable, and tries to be the glue that keeps everything together. Brock has two brothers, but unlike Jane’s sisters, I loved them. They are hilarious and always up to something. I actually felt like they brought so much enjoyment and fun to the story.

In true fairy tale fashion, Brock sweeps Jane off her feet and they fall in love. There is an auction, but the heart of the story is Jane and Brock falling in love, which is what this romance reader loves! I loved how there was an attraction and then they got to know each other on a deeper level.

This story was a fun and definitely sweet. My only complaint is I wanted to feel more, I wanted more of a connection. I felt like the sweetness of the story overwhelmed me at times and took me away from the realness they were feeling. Regardless, I am very excited to see what Rachel does with Brock’s hilarious brothers!

“Prepare to have your world rocked.” Jane could have sworn she heard him whisper under his breath. “Too late.”

Before I even begin let me tell you all that I am a hater of most things Disney and that goes triple for any and all of the princesses. I should have never even requested this book. However, it was by Rachel Van Dyken and I have to be honest . . . .

I could give a fat rat turd what she’s writing about, I’m going to do my best to get my greedy little hands all over it. Buuuuuuut, like I said, modern retellings of “princess” stories and me = no Gouda. Mainly because I want my Cinderella to be a little something like this . . . .

Instead I got Jane. Poor Jane . . . .

Yes, Jane. Yes you are. Sadly I could barely tolerate the leading lady this go ‘round. My brain was also trying to punk me and even though leading male Brock was repeatedly described as being auburn-haired, in my head he remained Jon Hamm . . . which would probably be great for most of you because y’all can picture Don Draper . . . .

But apparently I have some kind of twisted parasite living in my skull so I only envisioned this . . . .

Obviously by the 3 Star rating (which means I LIKED IT FINE – I JUST DIDN’T LOOOOOOVE IT SO BACK OFF!) some things worked for me. Although the meet/cute was a bit OTT, Brock did deliver a whopper of a one liner . . . .

“A woman like you doesn’t belong in the shadows.”

Which made me have a Johnny Castle flashback . . .

And then my splooshzone got real moist.

There was also my favorite scene of any scene ever – THE FIRST TIME WAX . . . .

Every rom/com should be required to have a waxing scene because they always make me lolz.

There was also a ranch owning Grandpa who, although not prominently featured, made me think of The Ranch and Beau Bennett (if you don’t get that reference maybe we shouldn’t be friends) . . . .

I have high hopes for ol’ Grandpa in the next books. Oh, and speaking of the rest of the series, THIS is why I read everything Rachel Van Dyken writes. This one might have just been okay for me, but the upcoming stories featuring twins Bentley and Brant????????? Yes please . . . .

No rush, though. Take your time. I’ll just be over here . . . somewhere waiting for Book 2 . . . .

Rachel Van Dyken is always a one-click for me. Am I a stalker fan? Sure, I follow her on Facebook, Twitter, IG. Sure she’s one of the top authors I hunt down at signings. Do I know her baby’s name? Her husband’s name? Maybe yes and do I have a crazy girl crush on her, why yes. And I’m not ashamed. It’s really easy to like her books, but when she’s an amazing person herself, well it’s easy to really love her books. She writes different genres from dramatic, mafia to one of my favorite rom com.

I’m glad she’s working with Forever publishing again because I feel like they are going to make good books together and The Bachelor Auction is no exception.

If you are looking for a laugh out loud, make your insides warm and fuzzy kind of read then The Bachelor Auction is perfect for you. It also has this slight Cinderella theme which I went crazy for. The cover is adorable too.

Jane is a maid. She cleans, cooks and does everything. This includes taking care of her adult older sisters. I like to call them her wicked sisters. I really enjoyed Jane’s dynamic I found her situation endearing and it has that bit of a damsel in distress vibe I love in a rom com. Her sisters are over the top ridiculous and they made a great villain that I loved to hate.

Jane is stuck in a rut. She’s poor and unhappy, but when she’s offered a very lucrative cleaning job, she can’t resist. For three weeks she will clean Brock’s house.

Brock is a no-non-sense guy. He has twin brothers who are hilarious and I can’t wait for their books. I like how opposite Brock is to his family. Brock is serious, dependable and very loyal. So when his grandfather puts Brock up for an auction so he can find a bride, Brock agrees even though he hates it.

The book isn’t about the auction. There is an auction, but it’s mainly about Jane and Brock interacting when she’s cleaning his house. I really liked this storyline because it’s just them. Brock and Jane’s relationship is cute because it’s the worker and boss kind. Jane is good at her job and Brock tries to keep his distance. I really liked the tension between the two of them.

I also enjoyed the side characters, especially the twin brothers. They added a little something to the story.

Overall, it was a sweet and romantic book. Every girl wants to be swept off her feet.

The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken is a 2017 Forever publication.

Sweet, Adorable, and super Romantic!

This is a fun, modern day spin on the classic Cinderella story.

Brock Wellington and his twin brothers are single, and are known to be quite ‘social’, especially the twins who don’t even bother hiding their promiscuous ways. So, it’s Brock, who much step up to the plate and care for his brothers and run the company.

But, when their grandfather informs Brock that the board may make changes once he is gone because none of the Wellington boys are married, which doesn’t exactly scream stability. So, with time being of the essence, the old man decides to hold an auction – A Bachelor Auction- putting Brock on the block and at the mercy of the highest bidder. So, who will be the lucky lady?

Jane runs a cleaning business and tries to meet the exhausting demands of her younger sisters. When she meets Brock by chance, he is simply dreamy, causing her to divulge in a few harmless fantasies about prince charming.

When Brock decides to spend a few weeks at the family ranch while the media hypes up the auction, he is stunned to find Jane there and even more surprised to learn his grandfather has hired her to keep the place clean while he’s staying there.

But, Jane soon learns the charming, sweet man she met before was a mirage, and the Brock Wellington she has been hired to take care of, is a royal pain in the butt!

But, as they spend more time together the initial chemistry between them is becoming harder and harder to deny. Still, once auction day rolls around, Brock will be lost to Jane forever- unless…

Romance novels inspired by beloved fairytales can be hit or miss with me. When we have such a familiar setup, the author really has to work hard to make the story unique and put their own personal stamp on it.

RVD did an amazing job with that and in the process created a delightful and charming love story anyone can enjoy.

There are some hilarious moments with farm animals, some quick and sharp dialogue and of course the special tender moments that make us all sigh.

One a personal note, I’ve been on a romance novel diet for a while, having become quite frustrated with the genre, which sent me in search of something more challenging, so it’s nice to have a book come along, like this one, that reminds me why I love to read romance and gives me hope that there are still authors out there that know what real romance is all about.

Cinderella retold with Rachel Van Dyken’s laugh out loud, wild and hilarious, sweet and sexy signature.

Cinderella Cleaning, run by Jane, has been hired by a mysterious man to prepare a ranch complete with cock, ass and horse, for its new tenants. But before Jane escapes her selfish, entitled sisters to clean, have some time to herself out in the middle of nowhere, she goes to a party where she’s unexpectedly saved from an embarrassing shoe incident by a gorgeous and charming stranger that makes her wish fairytales where true. She never expected her savior to be the new tenant. Can she be enough help this prince turned frog and for once put herself first?

The last time Brock Wellington dared say no to a loved one tragedy struck and his life changed irrevocably. So when his grandfather insists on auctioning him off to be married as part of their company’s charity and PR work, Brock can’t refuse. He’s no prince charming, he’s kind of a boring recluse. But when he rescues a woman he can’t stop thinking about and knows he can’t have, can he find her and convince her to trust him while he figures out a way out of this outlandish family obligation?
“Once you go Brock you can’t go back.”

I’ve never been a big fan of princesses except for Princess Leia of course, because I prefer strong and independent heroines. I am a big romantic at heart tough and happy ever afters and I am most definitely a big fan of Rachel Van Dyken. If she writes I’ll read it. I just love the way her smooth flowing, fun, sexy and romantic writing hooks me every time and makes me want to turn page after page until the wee hours of the night when I hit the end mark.
“It’s more than your touch; it’s every damn conversation, every look, every smile…”

Cinder-Jane was kind of a pushover when it came to her sisters and I wasn’t sure how that would affect my reaction to the story, but surprisingly enough she held her own when it came to the Wellington brothers, especially the broody, moody, surly one she wanted.

Brock had certainly been charming when he first met her, but when faced with the doom and gloom of his imminent auction, having to temporarily live in the home that held so many haunting memories that make him feel guilty and sad while he’s constantly tempted by a woman who’s off limits, he transforms into Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

They both come from different worlds but they’ve both lost their parents and are trapped by guilt and undesirable choices. They’re chemistry is off the charts, so they push and pull and are ultimately give in to each other and their scorching need that also became sweet love.
“Brock Wellington died in that moment, and was replaced quite possibly with the man he was always supposed to be. Crazed, passionate, slightly drunk on the feeling of the perfect woman in his arms… His destiny felt altered, his world changed.”

I just loved, LOVED, L.O.V.E.D… the cock and the ass! Just kidding, the animals were funny too, but who I was really referring to were the wacky, incorrigible and loveable twins, Brant and Bentley along with the peculiar grandfather who won’t rest with his scheming until he sees all his grandsons happy and in love. I can’t wait!

The Bachelor Auction is book #1 in the The Bachelors of Arizona series by author Rachel Van Dyken. This is a standalone full length contemporary romance novel, told from both points of view with a happy ending.

THE BACHELOR AUCTION: It's spoken in alternate POV's
A modern day retelling of the popular fairytale where Cinderella in this case Jane meets her unsuspecting Prince Brook, in this highly witty tale of complete opposites that are thrown together under unusual circumstances.

Throw in a meddling Grandfather, 2 bitches for sisters and you have the making of something that will have you giggling, raging at these two witches, and sighing as you race through the pages to see what the outcome is. This kept me so entertained throughout, I have never giggled so much with one book before, so if you're after a light read look no further than this book.

Jane was pretty certain that her one off encounter with the handsome elusive stranger Brock who saved her from an excruciatingly embarrassing moment on the dance floor involving her sisters would be that, a one off meeting.

NOT because this is where the meddling Grandfather comes into play and hires Jane as his cleaner to get a place ready for new tenants, and this is where all the feels will come at you.

Jane has been a doormat for years to 2 horrible bitches for sisters, they expect her to pull them out of their messes, cook, clean at their beck and call and she does it all without so much as a finger lifted from these wicked bitches, so when a phone call came out of the blue to get out from under their lazy assed feet for a few weeks she jumped at the chance.

I buddy read this book with Rachmi (Check out her awesome review!)

Final rating: 2.5 / 5 stars

What I like about this book:
- Writing syle. No question. I really enjoyed Rachel Van Dyken's writing style. I'm immediately hooked in the story.
- Cinderella story. I cannot resist that.
- The heroine. Jane is simple, hardworking, responsible and charming. She manages their family's cleaning business and works as a maid. I pity her when her sisters are taking advantage of her kindness. Sometimes I want to shake her to stand up for herself and give them a dose of their own medicine.
- Nadine. Not going to tell you her role here but this woman is SAVAGE.

What I didn't like about this book:
- The hero. Brock Wellington might be a sexy, attractive and rich guy but he doesn't have the guts to have his own decision. He's old enough to do what he wants and not let himself be manipulated by his grandfather. Also, there are times he is damn rude to Jane.
- Humor. It's a hit or miss to me. The jokes and sexual innuendos are hilarious at first and it made me laugh but as the story progresses, it feels forced and repetitive. It's not humoring me anymore.
- Other characters. There's Bentley and Brant (Brock's younger brothers) = Goofball twins (They're funny and sweet but so immature), Esmeralda and Essence (Jane's sisters) = Spoiled annoying, irresponsible bitches with Croc tears (DON'T ME.), The Grandfather = Overdramatic old man.

The story is okay but I can't help being disappointed and most moments made my eyes roll. I guess this book is not for me.

One line drew me to requesting this book: "Cinderella never had to deal with this crap."

Yes! This was a humorous and modern retelling of the classic fairy tale, Cinderella. And I loved it!! Rachel Van Dyken injected this story with her own brand of laughs, feel good moments, and love. She took the classic and twisted it, flipped it on its head, and made it work. Not every remix will be golden, but this one sure was.

Aside from Jane's two sisters, who provide ALL of the angst in this story, I loved everyone in this book. Obviously the main characters, Jane and Brock, but also his twin brothers, Bentley and Brant. I even loved their grandfather Wellington and found him delightful (you little manipulator you).

Oh and I LURVED every reference to the word "cock" in this book. There were so many (52 to be exact) and each one well placed and relevant lol.

"It irritates the hell out of me that 'Brock' rhymes with 'cock.' Just laying it all out there so you know." - Brock to Jane

Jane and Brock were both without their parents and trying to hold their families together. By doing so, they have lost their ability to say 'no'. Their right of refusal has taken a seat. Kinda indefinitely. In Jane's case, her sisters have used and abused her love and her kindness. As for Brock, he shouldered ALL of the responsibility of his family, something his family wants him to STOP doing.

This story was about these characters each facing their pain, loss and grief, finding their voices, finding a beautiful love with one another, and finally going after what matters most, which is what they both needed and deserved.

I must admit, there was one part that drew a tear from my eye. One tear, but it's worth mentioning because I'm NOT a crier.

"And us mothers, grandmothers - we're all given that same gene from God. The one that allows us to inflict fear into the most wicked of toddlers, gives us the ability to multi-task and still enjoy life, the ability to love through the mud, sweat, tears, the strength to wake up every day and breathe life into the world, to make it a better place - so know when I say this, I do not say this lightly. I say this with the utmost wisdom from years of being a woman." She paused. "Your mother would be so proud, baby girl." Nadine Titus to Jane

I can't wait to see what Van Dyken is going to do with Bentley and Brant. It was quite obvious towards the end that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to these two men.

This modern-day retelling of Cinderella is a fresh and light romantic comedy, with engaging characters and a charming setting. I loved that the author revisited a formidable character from The Bet series, Nadine Titus.

Jane lives with her two lazy, selfish, social climbing sisters. She owns a cleaning company and is overwhelmed with work. In addition to her customers, she is constantly obliged to clean her sisters’ messes.

Brock Wellington is one of the country’s richest bachelor. To please his grandfather, he has accepted to allow women to bid on him. But the winner should not hope for more than a date with him! Brock has always done what was expected of him, but he is at a crossroads in his life, questioning his choices and priorities. He usually can’t say no to his grandfather who, in his opinion, has sacrificed everything to raise his three orphaned grandsons.

Meeting Jane is a refreshing change. She is a pretty, sassy and vibrant girl-next-door, very different from the socialites he usually dates. But she is a constant reminder of what he can’t have and he tends to retaliate by acting like a jerk, barking out his orders and snapping at her. Jane is dazzled by Brock but doesn’t enjoy his mood swings. Their antics were hilarious and their connection felt real. But is Brock ready to fight for Jane and give her the fairy tale she deserves?

Rachel Van Dyken is a versatile and gifted storyteller. When I open one of her books, I know I’m in for a treat! This delightfully romantic story involved fairy godparents, irresistible farm animals and nosy brothers. Overall, I enjoyed this entertaining, sweet and fun romance with a whimsical touch. And I can’t wait to read what Rachel Van Dyken has in store for Brock’s twin brothers, Bentley and Brant.

I think sometimes you know a book is just not going to work for you, and this is definitely one of those occasions.

This 100% is based on my own particular tastes and not the writing. I just struggle with adults allowing themselves to be manipulated to such an extent that it actually affects their own personal happiness especially when it is through other family members, and both the H & h are in that bracket in this book. I know in a way it is integral to the story, but I don't see the point in dragging myself through a book I know I am not going to enjoy because of my own personal reading preferences.

If you like this author give it a go, it was my first time reading one of her books, I would certainly try something else, as I enjoyed the banter between the Wellington brothers, it was just everything else I didn't!

tba-teaser

The Bachelor Auction was a sweet modern day take on Cinderella, complete with the handsome prince, fairy godmother, and horrible sisters. We get the added benefit of sexy twin brothers who are hiding secrets that keep them commitment phobic. Simply put, they are manwhores. And they are hilarious!

Our Cinderella, aka Jane, finds herself the verbal whipping post for her vile sisters. They are horribly selfish and make her feel responsible for taking care of the house and them. Even though Jane owns her own cleaning business, she is broke. Her sister's lifestyles and their failing to help with any finances mean it all falls on Jane's back. She feels trapped emotionally and financially.

Prince Charming, aka Brock, is the oldest of the Wellington clan. He's a yes man. Always telling his grandfather yes. Whatever he needs, whatever he wants, Brock does it. Now his grandfather needs Brock to save the family company. How? By being auctioned off to the highest bidder.

The problem? Jane is hired to take care of the family grounds for 3 weeks, the same place Grandad has ordered Brock go to take some time off. When they both show up, she realizes he is the man who saved her at a recent party, and he realizes she is the woman whose shoe he slept with after she left the party. She's the hired help, he's soon to be auctioned off, they should stay away from each other and not give in to the attraction. But a couple of weeks together in the same house, and what are ya gonna do?

This was my first Rachel Van Dyken book, and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed this author's voice, her story-telling, and her character development.

“To the Cinderellas of the world… May you find your prince…”

With a witty, swexy and toe-curling romance, Rachel Van Dyken will take you on one of the most adorable rides of your life.

A modern day cinderella plus her not so charming prince charming bring to life a good fairy tale love story that will have you escaping from real shitty life for a few hours.. or days.

The Bachelor Auction is book one in the brand new series, The Bachelors of Arizona by Rachel Van Dyken.

Jane isn’t your typical cinderella. Sure, she got the two evil-demanding sisters but what about the prince? Between her cleaning business and her sisters she has not time to date. So a happily-ever-after? A prince? Just in her dreams. Well, that’s if she is not too tired to dream.

That’s until a party and a damn broken shoe incident… Who would think a broken shoe incident would be a life-altering moment?

“He was… like a duke or a lord or a prince from a storybook.”

Brock Wellington. A man who lives in a prison of his own making. His guilt has led him to allow his grandfather to rule his life, his future, his everything.

Until her.

“Just Jane?” “Just Brock.”

Jane & Brock were complete opposites. Jane believed Brock was out of her league. He was basically in a committed relationship. And yet, the attraction between them was impossible to deny. The only thing they had in common was their love for their family.

For them, family has always came first. But about them? Don't they need to come first for once?

What will happen when a boring Brock, meets a plain Jane?

You'll have to find out…

As you see, I didn't talk much about the plot. I think this is a story where you should go blind. A story you should experience by yourself. Not because this is a life-changing book or something heavy like that. No, this is a story that will make you dream, a story that will make you believe that our happily-ever-after is out there waiting for us. And that we just have to be patient.

I cried. I laughed. And I fell in love. I loved every word.

The Bachelor Auction captured my heart from the very beginning, you can't help but fall in love with the plot and the characters. Because when an author is able to weave in the supporting characters to be such an integral part of the story and writing them in a way it matters, that thing right there, makes a story all the more great for me. With this I’m telling you that you will LOVE all the characters from this book. From the cock who will try to murder you in your sleep to the ass who believes itself a dog to a set of twins that will have you laughing till your parts cry. Add to the mix not one but two fairy godmothers. Well, the second one more than a fairy godfather. LOL.

With characters who will grab your heart and never let go, humor that will have you howling, and a beautiful story about finding love when you least expect it. I can’t wait to see where the author takes us next with the twins.

On a side note, I was a little bummed to find out I didn't get Brock. But I’m very happy with who he ended with. LOL.

3.5 Cinderella Stars

"How dare you goat my cock!"

What's it about? This is a modern adaptation of the Cinderella story. Instead of a prince, you have Brock, an heir to a multi-million dollar company, who must marry an acceptable socialite to save the company's dwindling reputation.

The best bits: Van Dyken has weaved a modern spin on this tale of spineless lovers masterfully, giving us a fun glimpse into fantastical ever-afters.

There is just enough magic, conflict and passion here to delight fans of the original, and issues of loss and empowerment remain central to the plot as well. Modern audiences will also undoubtedly cheer for a chance to read about a Cinderella who doesn't always need a man to save her (but let's face it, sometimes a ripped body in a tight shirt are the preferred option.)

However, as graceful and coy as the two main characters are, like in the original, it is the secondary characters which stand out and provide much of the depth and enjoyment. They shape the plot and are the main drive behind it. Van Dyken's own love for each character, and her seeming respect for their significance, shines through almost every paragraph. The only reason I can think of why secondary characters aren't given their due time in the spotlight is because ultimately, they are not the characters we, the readers, want to be. But in my opinion the cocky twins here certainly give Brock a run for his money. I was so smitten with these ultra-intrusive and hilariously forward twins who so beautifully contrasted the desperation of the two ugly sisters.

The story of Cinderella dates back to the first century B.C. and was originally titled Rhodopsin. It's a Greek version of a courtesan who marries an Egyptian King and its main theme was that of nature, giving the main character some level of control and friendship with animals. It was great to see that this element was given its due diligence in Van Dyken's adaptation. Now, I'm not an animal enthusiast by any stretch of the imagination. That's not to say I don't like animals, I just don't have an uncontrollable need to pet, cuddle, coo at, and anthropomorphize them every chance I get. That being said, it would be remiss of me if I didn't mention the four-legged characters in this book. The animals in the story are just as adorable as those in the classic tale, and as it turns out, just as imperative to its narrative.

The worst bits: Van Dyken's very clever and glaringly obvious nods to Hollywood's version of the tale were more distracting than nostalgic. (Unfortunately, Cinderella has been altered so many times since the Disneyfication of fairytales, that it's difficult to know which aspects remain from the original... but that's a bone I'll pick another time.) Sometimes it got just a little too silly, but more importantly, the transparent predictability of certain would-be twists ultimately took away from the already questionable magic shared between the two leads.

Recommended for: Lovers of fairytale adaptations (this is one of the best out there).

4 Stars!

What a cute story! I love my fairy tales and this is a modern spin on Cinderella. It’s changed enough that it makes sense for modern day, but still holds the same essence and magic of Cinderella.

After her parents pass away, Jane is left holding her family together. But keeping her family together has Jane waiting on her two lazy sisters. Jane is busy running her cleaning business and keeping her sisters happy. Meanwhile, Jane is starting to doubt if her happily ever after is really going to happen…that is until a party and a broken shoe leaves Jane wondering if her prince really does exist. The only problem is the party is to auction her prince charming off to the highest bidder. Can Jane win her prince?

So Jane and Brock are two peas in a pod. They are very similar in their need to please the family. I was a little bit frustrated by both of them because it’s so painfully obvious that they give up their happiness for others. I was a little more sympathetic with Brock because I liked his family. He took a lot of the family burden on himself but it came from love. In the end, his family makes it right. Jane, on the other hand, had two terrible sisters. They were selfish, hateful, and just down right mean. There was no love there and that left me frustrated with Jane because she let them walk all over her. If her sisters loved her, it would be easier to understand and tolerate.

Brock and Jane give each other strength to climb out of their shells and start living life for them. I love that they bring the best out in each other. As Jane falls for Brock, she becomes a stronger woman and she stands up for herself. I was rooting for her the entire time. I’m so glad she stands up to her sisters. It was beautiful to watch.

Not only did I love Brock and Jane, but I adored his twin brothers. They bring lightness to the story and they help Jane and Brock push through their insecurities to take the leap of love. I can’t wait to read their stories!

Also, Rachel brings back Grandma Nadine!! I’m a big fan of her Bet series and I was so happy to see Grandma Nadine working her magic again.

Overall, it was a great light read with a fairy tale twist. I definitely recommend it if you’re in the mood for a cute and lighthearted romance.

Good golly, who doesn’t love a true-to-life Cinderella story? Especially one that involves a gorgeous, broody billionaire . . .

Jane is a busy woman. Busy managing the cleaning business she took over after passed away. Busy trying to make ends meet. Busy catering to the ridiculous demands of her sisters. Busy bailing her sisters out of their latest messes. Busy. Busy. Busy. Way too busy to take a moment for herself. Way too busy to find love.

Until Brock.

Brock Wellington is a family man, through and through. Family comes first. Why else would he agree to be auctioned off to the highest bidder for charity? Family, that’s why. His grandfather in particular. Family obligation has always been at the forefront of Brock’s mind and in his every action. He’s bailed his brothers out of many crazy predicaments. He’s catered to every whim of his grandfather. He’s never put himself and his needs first.

Until now.

Until Jane.

Jane, the one woman he wants but knows he really can’t have, if he’s to live up to the expectations of his grandfather and the obligations that The Bachelor Auction stipulates. But what if he could have her for just a little bit of time. A little bit of putting himself first—even if only for a short period of time.

I really truly enjoyed this book and found myself grinning, giggling, belly laughing, mad, aggravated, happy, melancholy, and completely satisfied. I loved Jane and her attempt to keep her family together no matter the cost. God, her sisters—what a bunch of overbearing, pretentious bitches . . . and that’s being kind. She’s been so busy keeping her family afloat, she’s taken no time for herself—but oh, she’s damn tempted by Brock.

And Brock. Broody, boring Brock. Devilishly, delicious Brock is more like it. Once that man makes up his mind and goes for something, there’s really nothing stopping him. He’s been battling his inner demons since he was twelve years old—always much older in his actions and mannerisms because of the demands and responsibilities he’s placed on his shoulders. But Jane is a temptation he may just not be able to resist . . . And he doesn’t. Whoa, sexy times between Jane and Brock were super duper sexy.

Add in the crazy antics of his grandfather, his two brothers, Bentley and Brant—and how could I forget Nadine who needs her OWN book—and I have several books to look forward to reading. ~ Missy, 4 stars

Jane was the responsible one in her family, she was also the doormat. It was Jane who made sure her self-centered sisters had a roof over their heads, food on the table and that their bills were paid.
Brock is the son who followed in his grandfather’s footsteps to keep the family corporate holdings intact. His twin brothers were the playboys who never met a woman they didn’t want or a party they didn’t’ want to attend.

In true Cinderella fashion, these two will meet and their futures forever changed, all because of one shoe and an interfering grandfather who decided the best way to save his company was to auction off Brock as marriage material to the highest bidder, all of charity, of course!

Let the games and the laughter begin as Rachel Van Dyken unleashes another bundle of love in THE BACHELOR AUCTION where anything can and usually does happen! Hang on tight for a whirlwind of fun and frantic romance as two souls get caught up in the machinations of a wily set of twins, an aging grandfather and one of the most unlikely allies ever! Having a bad day? Open up this tale from Rachel Van Dyken and get ready to burst into smiles, chuckles and pure laughter as Cupid’s helpers make a three ring circus out of happily ever after!

Boring Brock meets Plain Jane...

Jane thought she met Prince Charming aka Brock Wellington at a party when he swooped in and saved her. And Brock thought she was like his Cinderella running out and leaving him with nothing but a shoe. But "Boring Brock's" life is about to change due to the meddling of his grandfather who wants to auction him off to the highest bidder and stir up some good press.

Brock is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He has always been the good brother...the one who takes care of everything since his parents died and follows the rules to make his grandfather happy. He is controlled, intimidating, a loner, and not known to show much emotion. It seems each time he stands up and says "No" then something tragic happens. So he has become the "Yes" man of the family while his twin brothers, Brant and Bentley, do what they want. But now his grandfather is determined that Brock will do what he is told.

Jane runs Cinderella cleaning services. Her parents are also gone and she is the one who takes care of her two obnoxious, selfish, impulsive sisters. They always make her feel plain, boring, and not good enough. She has a tendency to always say "Yes" and ends up being taken advantage of often. So a few weeks away making excellent money to clean a ranch house seems like a good idea when it was offered.

However...when they go surprisingly meet again, their interactions are not so magical. Brock is not so friendly when he finds her at his family's ranch house he was supposed to be using as a refuge to avoid excessive media attention. And he is having more trouble dealing with the ghosts of his past in that house then he expected. And she thought she was just going to be cleaning a vacant house and having peace away from her obnoxious sisters. She did not sign up for spending weeks with a cranky bachelor. Brock has some serious mood swings going on for a chunk of this book that sometimes made it hard to take.

But they get each other all worked up and get under each other's skin. He's erratic in his moods as he faces his past and has to live with a woman he wants but is off limits. He is dealing with anger, guilt, fear, sadness, and need. And she is stuck there and an easy target, and it makes her feel second class. Both feel trapped in their lives with lack of choices. So they push, spar, and avoid. But eventually they begin to give in to their attraction even with the uncertainty of their future looming ahead.

Theirs is a wild and crazy back and forth courtship with some surprises, ornery animals, nosy brothers, evil sisters, and meddlesome elders...and a big, fancy ball. There is manipulation, scheming, and some challenges to overcome in order for true love to have a fighting chance. I couldn't wait to see how all of it was going to get resolved.

It is a fast-paced, funny, sexy, and romantic modern day spin on Cinderella. Rachel Van Dyken brings us a whole new group of eccentric family members to entertain and surprise us. A cameo from one of my favorite RVD characters also made me so happy. Brock's grandfather was a quirky enigma. I wanted to throttle her petty sisters and was hoping for them to be taken down a few pegs. I totally fell for Brock's over-the-top, hilarious twin brothers, Brant and Bentley. They kept me laughing and made my head spin. I cannot wait to see them get their turn as both of them seem to be allergic to monogamy. Bentley is supposed to be next.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 "A Present Day Cinderella Tale" Stars for the Story and 4.5 Stars for the Narration.

The Bachelor Auction is a modern day retelling of the Cinderella fairy tale--except as is often the case in today's romances, with a successful businessman as Prince Charming rather than a real life prince. The heroine, in turn, is also a modern day woman, who quite fittingly owns her own house cleaning business, and has two (in this case real blood) sisters who abuse her both physically and mentally by throwing verbal jabs at her and making her do all the work in their house and provide for their every whim and need financially. Annie Green and Douglas Berger co-narrate this tale delivering an adept and easy to listen to rendition.

Brock Wellington lost his parents young, and grew up with his grandfather, a business tycoon. Brock has always been the good grandson doing everything his grandfather asked, and lived his life content to just devote himself to his work and making his grandfather happy. But his grandfather has now asked that unthinkable: that he marry the winner of an auction for his hand in marriage and all for the publicity that will boost the profitability of their business.

When Brock meets Jane at a ball he sees something different in her, but knowing that he must marry the highest bidder at the auction, he ultimately decides not to pursue her even when she mysteriously turns out to be the cleaning lady that is hired to clean the house where Brock is asked to lay low until the auction. Brock's first response is to treat Jane indifferently in order to deny his feelings that have no opportunity to go anywhere given the preordained fate that his grandfather has mandated. When that doesn't work though he gives in to his feelings and Brock and Jane enjoy a few days of bliss. But can their possibly be any opportunity for HEA given the imminent auction and the two different worlds from which they come from?

Annie Green and Douglas Berger narrate in the typical new adult fashion with Ms. Green narrating the chapters from Jane's perspective and Mr. Berger narrating the ones from Brock's. This approach works well to differentiate the viewpoints being shared.

Additionally, both narrators provide generally distinguishable voices for both Jane and Brock, as well as the whole cast of other characters which includes Brock's grandfather and two lively brothers, as well as, Jane's two self-absorbed and downright mean sisters. Both narrators also use adequate pacing and intonations to allow the listener to follow the story without having to rely on dialogue tags or having to question the mood of the scene.

All in all, if you're in a mood for a modern rendition of a Cinderella fairy tale, then the Bachelor Auction may just be what you're looking for. Just as in the original fairy tale be prepared for a storyline that requires a little suspension of belief and hope that a HEA with a Prince Charming lays in wait after love at first sight takes hold. Additionally, be prepared for a slight twist that makes fairy tales come true.

You might pick this up from the blurb, but in case you didn't LOL this was truly a sweet modern day fairy tale story with a twist :) Jane lives with her three sisters and basically does everything for them. She just doesn't know how to say no even tho they are ridiculously evil to her. And to make matters worse, she promised her father, on his death bed, that she would keep the family together...Cue, let's run all over little Jane and see how far we can go before she breaks... (you see where the fairy-tale twisty thing comes in? lol)

Our hero, Brock Wellington, is also a yes person. He struggles with saying no, especially to his Grandfather. He struggles deeply with this and he's got baggage from his past that just doesn't stop him from being a virtual doormat....

A chance meeting between these two like-minded people and both their worlds are now upside down. Brock just can't get Jane out of his head and vise versa .... love at first sight, I dare say :) **happy sigh** But nothing in life (or fictional books) comes easy and before you reach any highs, there are always lows to be beaten. And we have plenty of those going on in this story. However, intertwined in all the lows is a seriously sweet romance. Their connection was very real and their spark jumps off the pages. It truly was a heart-warming, huge smile, sexy read :) I'd highly recommend it to one and all!

#BachelorAuction

The Bachelor Auction was one of those gem of reads that made you feel good. Yes, I am talking about that warm fuzzy feeling. Those butterflies in the stomach kind of love. RVD didn’t hold back as she doused readers with her cheeky humor and lovable characters. You could say RVD is like your own fairy godmother but the kind that delivers sweet romance for your reading pleasure. In this very day and age, is there such thing as a Prince Charming? According to RVD, yes there is. And for some, Prince Charming might need some magical love from an unlikely stranger.

If you are a fan of romance, fairy tales, humor, and meticulously crafted charismatic characters then I suggest you better be one-clicking The Bachelor Auction because RVD will definitely fulfill and grant your romance wish. For all my Cinderella fans out there, RVD won’t disappoint you as she puts her own playful spin on this modern retelling. As always, the writing was crisp and beautifully crafted to present a love story that will have you smiling big.

The Bachelor Auction was a sweet, fun and enjoyable read.

For the most part I really enjoyed The Bachelor Auction. I found the storyline sweet and at times heartwarming. I loved the relationship between the Wellington brothers, they made me laugh with their antics and swoon with how protective they were of Jane.

I liked both Jane and Brock, they were engaging and entertaining characters. There was no doubt in my mind they were perfect for each other, it warmed my heart watching them connect and fall in love.

description

What brought my rating down a little was Jane's lack of backbone to stand up to her vile sisters. While I totally got she felt an obligation to her father's memory to keep the family together, no one should be given a free pass to continuously mistreat and abuse that love and trust :(

Overall, I did enjoy The Bachelor Auction, it's has a fairytale feel about it and it was a lovely start to The Bachelors of Arizona series. Looking forward to reading the next books and watching the twins find love :)
