It's Easter morning, and all of Sesame Street is gathered at the park for the Great Easter Race. Who will win the day? Will it be the turtle, who moves slowly and steadily toward the finish? Or will it be the bunny, who runs faster than thunder, but seems easily distracted? Fun surprises wait around every turn, so come along with Elmo and all the Sesame Street friends!
It's a bright Easter morning on Sesame Street, and out in the park, friends are starting to meet.
There are beautiful colors and flags waving free. Something special is happening. But what can it be?
An excellent rhyming story. The race with Elmo and friends along with the woodland creatures was cute, especially with the Easter baskets as distraction during the race. My toddler loved finding the hidden bunny in every page. We also had fun locating fun little ducky, chocolate bunny, fire truck, strawberry, cupcake, etc hidden among the colorful eggs on the inside of the book cover. The race looked fun and they seemed to having a merry time. Each one was super happy when each found something to their liking on the race path.
This book started with Elmo and friends at the park. They were getting ready for a race. Big Bird announced the race and the woodland creatures wanted to join in. Big Bird agreed and they all stood in line. The bunny led the race and the turtle brought up the rear. Monster was stopped by a basket of cookies. Ernie was distracted from the race by a basket of duckies. Bert was stopped by pigeons taking a bath. Big Bird saw a nest and wanted a rest. The race went until one winner at the end. A surprise wait for everyone at the finished line.
The Great Easter Race! is a book I will read for my toddler at every Easter: before, during, and after. I loved the smiley characters. They all celebrated the winner at the end of the race. No one was upset about not winning. It’s fun to see Elmo and friends in colorful big shoes while the woodland creatures wore no shoes. The Easter celebration in this book made Easter a fun day. I’m glad to read this book to my toddler and I highly recommend everyone to read this book too!
I read in English but this review is in Bahasa Indonesia
Melainkan tentang saling mendukung.
Elmo; & Cookie Monster were celebrating. Big Bird was the MC for the race. All the forest creatures entered also. Who would win the race?
I do not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing free books from publishers & authors. Therefore, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great hand-drawn colored pictures & proper font & writing style. A very well written children’s (age 5-7) Sesame Street adventure storybook. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters, settings, etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s fun Sesame Street adventure movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars. Thank you for the free author; Sesame Workshop; FreeBooksy; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; book Tony Parsons MSW (Washburn)
This book was basically the Tortoise and the Hare but with the Sesame Street characters thrown in to the race. I thought it was cute that the rabbit was actually helping the turtle to win. But my daughter was upset because Elmo didn't actually wear that bunny suit or get an easter basket. She felt the cover lied to her.
It also can HARDLY be considered an easter book because it's a race with the characters just getting side tracked by eggs or candy, etc. This is not one we will be reading again.
Adorable. I wasn’t expecting the twist on the tortoise and the hare! However, I didn’t understand why some characters’ colors were different on some pages.
This was a cute read for my son's reading time. I grew up with Sesame Street and I'm happy to see that it is still around so that my son can learn from them as well.
This had nothing to do with Easter besides the title and there being a rabbit in the race. Oh I guess there were eggs at one point. But really, it’s a bit of a stretch. I liked it as a spring book.
Bright engaging artwork will help keep your little one's attention as you read them this semi-easter themed story featuring their favorite Sesame Street characters. The story itself doesn't really have much of an Easter theme but the illustrations tie the book in to the holiday.
Rating: 4 Stars 2017; Sourcebooks Wonderland/Sourcebooks (Review not on blog)
This is an adorable book to read with the kids for Easter. It is a fun book about a race featuring the characters of Sesame Street. There is nothing really about Easter other than the picnic at the end, but I find that a plus in this general picture book.
I received a free Goodreads giveaway copy of this book, and my two year old loved it. It's a fun holiday themed book for little ones excited about Sesame Street characters. There is not a whole love of substance to the actual writing and nothing at all about easter, but fun illustrations nonetheless.
