ஒரு ஜமீன் வீழ்ந்த கதை . இந்த புத்தகத்தை ஆரம்பிக்கும் முன் எந்த ஒரு எதிர்பார்ப்புமில்லாமல் தான் ஆரம்பித்தேன் . ஆரம்பித்த முதல் பக்கத்திலிருந்தே என்னை கவர்ந்த புத்தகங்களில் இதுவும் ஒன்று என்பதை சொல்ல நான் கடமை பட்டிருக்கிறேன் . மூன்று தலைமுறை ஜமீன்தார்கள் கதையை சொன்ன விதம் , மூன்று காலகட்டங்களை குழப்பாமல் கதையை தெளிவாக கொண்டு போன , நேர்த்தி என்று கதாசிரியரை பாராட்ட நிறைய விஷயங்கள் இந்த புத்தகத்தில் இருக்கிறது . கதாசிரியர் வருசநாட்டு ஜமீன் காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்து , அவர்களுடன் பழகியது போல் அவ்வளவு தத்துரூபமாக கதையை எழுதியிருக்கிறார் . இது வரலாறா அல்லது வரலாறு புதினமா என்று நமக்கே சந்தேகம் வரும்படி நேர்த்தியான கதையாக அமைத்திருக்கிறார் . கதையின் ஓட்டத்தை இன்னும் நம்மிடம் ஒட்டவைக்கும் விதமாக புகைப்படங்கள் அமைந்திருக்கிறது . மொத்தத்தில் தமிழர்களின் ஜமீன்தர்களின் வாழ்க்கையை படம் பிடித்து காட்டிய இந்த புத்தகம் , தமிழர்கள் கண்டிப்பாக படிக்க வேண்டிய ஒரு புத்தகம் .

இந்தியாவின் ஜமீந்தாரி காலத்தின் சுவடுகளை நம் கண்முன் நிறுத்துகிறார் வடவீர பொன்னையா. தேனி வட்டார வழக்கில் ஒரு உண்மையான வரலாற்றை அதன் தகுந்த படங்களுடன், சுவாரஸ்யம் கொஞ்சமும் குறையாமல் மிக அருமையான நடையில் படைத்திருக்கிறார். வாழ்த்துகள்

The story about the forgotten past, an elite gone to dust because of a curse. The palaces in ruins are the indicators of the remnant past. A book well researched and well written. The narration and flow of the events that took place a few centuries ago and continued until the last century is very good and exhibited in the native style. The author has painstakingly met the people, collected the details, the genealogy etc to make the book very interesting. A wonderful read throughout.
