Wow! What an ending! The zombies of the Dying Days world continue to evolve. This is key for me as every other zombie series bores the hell out of me. Armand Rosamilia's zombie series keeps itself fresh and relevant five books deep because the monsters are ever evolving.
Dying Days 5 cements the idea presented in DD4 that the zombies are evolving. One in particular is rising above the rest. A queen bee in a hive of mindless drones. This serves to bring the zombies as characters back into the story and not just a mechanism for action beats. This, thus becomes a fulcrum book in the nine book series.
The story itself is really good, moving the larger plot along but not presenting earth shattering turns of events like in book 4. BUT the ending of DD5 is without a doubt the best cliffhanger to date in the series. We lose a major character and set up the remainder of the Dying Days series to take another drastic turn.
Hats off to author Armand Rosamilia for the ability to keep a zombie series fresh and ever evolving. The surprise ending alone is enough to get me to book 6. If you come this far in the Dying Days world, you'll definitely be primed and drooling for book 6!

Each book of this series just gets better and better. Rosamilia knows how to draw you into a story with his well developed characters and takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I'm going through this series reading at least one book a day. Now on to the 6th book. I can't recommend this book and series highly enough except to say "IT'S A MUST READ!"

Awsome

Another great installment in the series. I cannot wait to read the next book to see what happens next. Sorry to say, I am in such a rush to get to the next one, that I am only filling in the required number of words.

John and Darlene have been separated. Can they find each other. Is the Lich Lord able to help the survivors. Well written story, keeps you guessing. Fast paced zombie story where the zombies aren't what you expect.

This story starts out with Sally bleeding out Mitchell trying to keep her quiet.17 people crammed in a Chinese restaurant's tiny bathroom, while the dead are roaming around. So it starts off with an intense scene. In this book the mortally wounded Darleen is taken to a compound by whom she perceives as her enemies. Her son has been taken and she sees her husband shot, as he falls she is taken away. She presumes him dead.Anyone who follows this series knows Darlene is not the type of women to be tifled with. She is one tough customer to try and pull the wool over her eyes. She is still not sure what to make of The Lich Lord,She has been secluded in an small room, till she gets her strength back and has a chance to heal more. She is being looked after by a young girl. The various groups are still hearing transmissions that the National guard is on its way and the Zombies are being pushed back to Canada.Of course they want to hope for the best, this Zombie thing has gone on for so long. But the smart ones hold a healthy amount of sin ASIS um close to their chest.
We meet several new character's in this book, some you love and some you would like to use for Zombie bait, yet others you haven't quite decided if they are good or bad,if there is such a thing in the Zpoc.
Armand Rosamila is a brilliant Author, his stories never disappoint. There is so much suspense and turmoil. His character "The Lich Lord" is brilliant and unique.Pick up this book to find out more.Did Jonh die? Will Darlene find out who stole her son and get him back? Who is this Lich Lord?

Another quick and exciting read following the Zombie Killer herself, Darlene Bobich. This book picks up right where the last one left off which can be a little confusing at first if you're like me and juggling 10 different series that you're waiting to finish, but after a couple chapters I was back in the game.
***Unspecific Spoilers ahead***
I don't like to include spoilers in my reviews but I have to vent. Is this author trying to be like GRRM? I feel like he killed off almost every single character. All that's left are the main protagonist and antagonist which means the next book will undoubtedly introduce a good helping of new characters to follow. BUT I guess that makes it more realistic given a real zombie apocalypse would be no picnic. All in all, a good book and I'm looking forward to the next one. I'm just glad Armand pumps these out fast, very unlike GRRM.
