This was a simple and easy to follow story about the journey from a humble little seed, to a glorious and tall standing proud sunflower, that folds upwards to be very very tell. It's a texture book, so little fingers can touch, but the materials chosen weren't strong (not textured enough if that makes sense) so not as effective as it should have been. A little mix of sun and rain will encourage the roots to grow and the shoots to form. Nice story that wasn't quite a winner that it should have been as Indy found his big brothers Play Station. Bloody technology.

No rhymes, but perfect short repetitive phrases: The sun came up and the rain came down...and the sun came up and the root pushed down. Last page is an accordian fold to a tall sunflower. Touch and feel. Cat, caterpillar, bee, worm, snail, etc. provide visual interest. Loved the little boy in storytime who talked about the "chicken" (song bird) on every page!
