As the captain of a fishing vessel, Alpha wolf Dominic considers himself married to his work. That’s always been enough for him -- he’s never been interested in a family. Until he meets Sawney.
Though he’s always wanted pups, Omega physician Sawney is committed to his practice and his patients. He’s never made time for a mate. But as he gets older he’s finding it harder to resist the demands of his body. When he meets Dominic, his urges catch fire and breeding with the Alpha is all he can think about.
Dominic proposes they strike a deal. He can give them both what they want, no strings attached. One pup, a good friendship, and all parties satisfied.
Only it’s not quite that easy. Passion and friendship are one thing, but what happens when the “single parents” realize they’re in love?
Will Okati is made of many things: imagination, coffee, stray cat hairs, daydreams, more coffee, kitchen experimentation, a passion for winter weather, a little more coffee, a whole lot of flowering plants and a lifelong love of storytelling.
I can't believe I'm already at the third, and most recent installment, of the 'Omega Wolves' series. Although it shouldn't come as a surprise. I do have a tendency to inhale books, even more ones I'm loving, and this series certainly qualifies. I thought it was nice to see the author return to the peninsula and the ocean, the same place Matthias and Bree had gone.
It's a curvy road when two people start down the path of "friends with benefits", or in the case of Dominic and Sawney, friends who are married to their jobs and don't want mates, but are having a pup together. I totally understood the decision. Dominic is gone at sea for months at a time and there's no guarantee he'll always come back. The Bering Sea is a dangerous place, and more than one man has lost his life to it. Sawney is just as married to his medical practice and his patients. He doesn't want a mate taking his time and attention away from that. But he does want a child, it's what his body is designed to do, and Dominic would like to leave a little piece of himself in the world.
I have to admit that these two were insanely sexy and hot. The first time Dominic is back on shore after four and a half months away, all he can think of is getting to Sawney to see if their one night together worked. The relief they both felt at the touch of the other came as a huge surprise. The feelings, however, threw them both for a loop. What do they do now? This wasn't what they thought it would be.
“I’ve thought of you more than I have of medicine these past few months. Did you think of me more than the sea?” Dominic exhaled long and slow. “Every damn day, Sawney. From dawn till dusk, you were all that was in my head.”
Hands down this was my favorite. So far. That's saying a lot since I've loved each of these stories and the characters. There was just something extra special about Dominic and Sawney, plus I got a wee glimpse of Matthias and Bree that made me happy. All in all, a wonderful story. Now, besides saying thank you to the author, I have just one question. Will there be more?

This series gets better with each book I think. In this one, Dominic, a fishing boat captain meets Sawney, a shifter doctor when his friend's Omega goes into labor and their phone is out and someone has to fun for the Dr. So Dominic shifts and runs :-) The Doc is a gorgeous unmated Omega who is cool and efficient - totally in his element with delivering the new pup.
Sawney has always wanted his own child, but he's "married" to his work - a sentiment Dominic can relate to. But Sawney is definitely attracted to Dominic and they think maybe they can work out a no strings attached deal. Of course that's easier said than done when it comes right down to it :-) Luckily they both are flexible and maybe new deals can be struck!
While its pretty commonplace for an instalove kind of story to move fairly quickly, I found this one moved a warp speed. :p I liked the premise of the story: two men both wanting a child but not the commitment agree to have a baby together, no strings attached, only to realize later that they’ve fallen in love. I read that blurb and was totally like, ‘I am so down with that!’ The book started off well enough but once the two men went to bed together things sped up like whoa. It kind of caught me off guard when, at their second meeting several months later, both come to the realization that they love the other. Even for me that was a little too fast seeing as how they hadn’t even spent a grand total of 24 hours together at that point. Also, while you get Dominic’s realization of his feelings, Sawney’s ‘ah ha’ moment you don’t get to see and its more of an implied thing at first which made me wonder if I’d missed some text somewhere.
I am a little disappointed that the book was basically done with after the baby was born, as I was really hoping for a love declaration maybe a year or two after the kid had been born to really draw out the together but not really together dynamic between the two main characters. Still, it was a quick read with some of my favorite elements that left me with a happy ending so I can’t complain too much.
These are all too short. They have these great MCs, we just get to know them and love them, and then – kapow. It’s over.
On the one hand, I really loved these guys and how their angst really just worked itself out. I loved how they understood the other and how they both just worked together to resolve their issues.
But, on the other hand, beyond some basic “paranormal” mating chemistry, these guys weren’t together enough as a couple for me to buy the ILYs – but I close my eyes and ignore that aspect – and really like them as a couple anyway.
I loved seeing Matthias and Bree again and am glad to see the series overlap a little with other MCs from previous books.
Overall, it was a good addition to the series and if you’ve been enjoying the other books, you’ll enjoy this as well. It’s certainly good as a standalone, but I think read in order is still the best way to go.
