Despite the increasing number of books on hypnotherapy, few, if any, provide the basic text required for the early stages of training in the use of such techniques. This book both meets the needs of beginners, and serves as a reference source for the more experienced. All the treatment programmes have been used and are fully illustrated with case studies. The approach is one of 'How To Do It' rather than a survey of history and current theories. Aimed at practitioners in a variety of professions - from medicine and surgery to analytic psychotherapy -the book will also interest anyone involved in non-physical methods of alleviating suffering and improving health.
I read this for my diploma course and found it to be very informative. It has its moments of wordiness but on the whole, it is clear and concise. A great starting point for anyone interested in the use of hypnotherapy.
Excellent resource for therapists. Gives some suggestions for therapists' scripts but no full scripts as such. However the lack of scripts is amply made up for by the wealth of information given in the book, which is far more valuable than simply a book of scripts. Nonetheless for the beginner wishing to use ready made scripts Roger Allen's Scripts & Strategies in Hypnotherapy or Hadley & Staudacher' Hyponosis for Change are highly recommended.
A nice readable book which introduces the subject well and yet is useful later on too as it is peppered with plenty of good hypnotherapy scripts for various purposes. Very readable.
