A hot historical romance from USA TODAY Bestselling Romance Author Jess Michaels

Criminal Jack Blackwood has plenty of problems, from his complicated relationship with his brother to the plethora of men coming to dethrone him as king of the underground. What he doesn't need is a rich, bored gentleman showing up to try to join his gang. Worse, he doesn't need that gentleman's sister, Lady Letitia Seagate, chasing after him demanding he keep her brother safe. If only the lady weren't so damned intriguing.

Widowed Letty is desperate to protect her younger brother, even if it means matching wits with the notorious, charismatic Captain Jack. Only the man has far more to him than she ever expected, and his tempting kisses and smoldering promises leave her wanting more than she has ever dared before. Can Jack uncover the truth behind Letty's darkest lies? And will they both survive the storm about to strike at the very heart of their passion?

Jess Michaels is a USA Today Bestselling Author who likes geeky stuff like Star Wars, playing video games (she ships herself with Dragon Age’s Iron Bull FOREVER), Bob’s Burgers and collecting POPs! She also drinks a LOT of Diet Coke. Probably an unhealthy amount, but it’s her only vice. She will eat (almost) anything coconut, truly anything cheesy and nothing spicy (yes, she is a walking stereotype when it comes to that). She likes cats, her dog Elton and people who care about the welfare of their fellow humans.

Although she started out traditionally published by Avon/HarperCollins, Pocket, Hachette and Samhain Publishing, in 2015 she went fully indie and has never looked back! She is lucky enough to be married to her favorite person in the world and live tucked between the ocean and the mountains in Oregon.

When she’s not watching Our Flag Means Death or trying out all the new flavors of Greek yogurt, she writes historical romances with smoking hot heroes and sassy heroines who do anything but wait to get what they want.

Captain Jack, King of the underworld and Warrick's brother, was intriguing in the last book. In his own story, he is curious about the widow Letitia, cousin to his brother's new wife. I liked Letitia because she was a strong heroine that knew what she wanted and was not afraid to speak up. Her brother Griffin, on the other hand, pissed me off royally. Jack didn't really give off a whole lot of the bad boy vibes, but I liked him anyways. This is a classic case of a good girl falling for a man who is not of her world. Nothing was surprising but it was still a good story. The plot feels very familiar but I can't quite pinpoint from where. Nevertheless, the writing was done well and the characters were fleshed out to be interesting. Safety: No OW/OM/Sharing. No abuse/rape. No condoms.

I loved this book - Ms. Michaels is making it incredibly hard for me to pick a favorite in this series! She is making it even harder to pick a favorite couple - but I think this book was just a little better than the others and I think I loved Letitia & Jack the best.

WOW! This book had everything I love in my Historical Romance novels, a strong hero AND heroine, steamy love scenes, action, vile villains, an against all odds soul mate love and wonderful secondary characters.

I don't want to give anything away in this review - but this book was, in my opinion one of the best books I have ever read by Ms. Michaels (and I have read them all).

I highly recommend this book - it could be a stand alone, but you will really miss out if you don't read the series in order.

'Seduced' by Jess Michaels is book five in the "The Wicked Woodleys" series. This is the story of Captain Jack Blackwood and Lady Letitia Seagate. I have read other books in the series but I did feel this was a standalone book.
Lady Letitia is out to protect her younger brother and that means keep up with Captain Jack and that is driving Jack crazy. Jack is really attracted to Letitia and they both are finding out more about the other than they ever knew.
Ms. Michaels books are always great, hot and a one sitting read!

Author Jess Michaels can do no wrong is this conclusion to the Wicked Woodleys series which I have loved since the very first moment.

When Jack Blackwood aka Captain Jack sees the widowed Letitia at his brother Warrick's wedding, he is taken for a loop. Letitia Seagate is no shrinking violet and now out and about eighteen months after her husband died, she is ready to take on the world. Her marriage, even though amicable, was not all it could have been and now free from those binds, Letitia sees promise in the wicked Jack Blackwood, who happens to be the brother of his cousin Claire's husband.

Aside from all the rumors surrounding Jack Blackwood, his position as top crime lord in London's underworld has been of late a sorrowful one. Watching his brother War move on from his meager beginnings to marry the woman of his heart leaves Jack happy for his brother, but at a loss for himself. Seeing the intriguing widow across a ballroom brings a spark to his otherwise dismal life.

Letitia is like no woman Jack as ever met and her suggestion of their becoming lovers is a welcome surprise to him. Feelings for one another cannot get in the way, because Jack's life just can't include anyone he cares about, especially when his stint as crime lord is currently in dispute and a hostile takeover by seedier characters may be imminent.

SEDUCED by Jess Michaels is an exceptional read. Ms. Michaels brings all of her characters' facets to light in this fast moving, phenomenal conclusion to the Wicked Woodleys. Jack and Letty's passion and desire for one another amongst the troubles going on in Jack's life make this a must read. The secrets that Letitia hid from everyone, but allowed Jack to know shows that by putting her trust in his, she cares, even though she won't admit it. I loved the internal struggles both Jack at Letitia deal with as well as Jack's power struggle in the crime world. SEDUCED by Jess Michaels is perfection.

Opposites attract!

Captain Jack Blackwood inhabits a dangerous criminal world
Widowed viscountess Letitia Seagate and cousin to Jack's sister-in-law only wants to protect her younger brother
Letitia is:
1. At odds with Jack
2. Viscerally attracted to Jack
3. Accuses him of seducing her brother into wicked ways. Really brother Griffin acts like a spoilt child refused. He is out to prove himself with no thought of the danger to others. I had no patience with him.
Jack is:
1. A man from the rookeries
2. A man whose taken on the worst and come through
3. A crime lord on the brink of a gangland war in which anyone is fair game.
4. A man who finds himself drawn to Letitia even though he's promised his brother not to dally with the dark beauty who's attracted his attention.
So when Letitia confronts Jack it's no wonder the sparks fly, and then some.
Add in the danger factor and the bad boy finding a good woman and there's a recipe for success! Enjoyable!

My infatuation with Jess Michaels stems from the fact that she does not just write stories that go beyond pushing the envelope. She creates strong female characters that are willing to risk everything to protect the ones they love. Seduced is a story of betrayal, lust and courage. Letty is hell on wheels, Jack is sex on a stick. With the odds not working in their favor, a middle ground has to be found to explore the all consuming attraction between these two characters. I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review. These characters bring out strong emotions in each other and that is what makes Seduced an engrossing read.

The book was lacking and too far fetched. Why does the hero need to speak elegantly and be a gentleman? He was a freaking gutter rat who literally grew up on the streets and survived by stealing....Nooo not buying it. Let’s make it realistic at least a little!!

I am so glad that Jess Michaels' finished up her books about the Woodley family with Jack Blackwood's story. He absolutely caught my interest as War's criminal brother in "Ruined". Jack meets Letty, Claire's widowed cousin, at Claire and War's wedding reception. He realizes that he is attracted to her and that he would be totally unsuitable for her. Letty's younger brother Griffin wants to meet Jack and talk to him about his exciting criminal life. Letty steps in and gives Jack a rousing set down for trying to lure her brother and she doesn't want to listen to him when he protests.
Letty and Jack are attracted to each other, but Letty has a secret. She is a widow who hints that her first marriage may not have been as happy as everyone thinks.
The passion between these two is hot and they start a steamy, passionate illicit affair. I really liked the romance between them and the characters themselves. Letty is very sensible and knows what she wants. Jack is dark and really sexy.
I can't wait to read more books by Jess Michaels, she tells a fantastic story.

This is the 5th book in this series but I had no problem reading it as a standalone. Jack is a criminal with a heart of gold. He is rough around the edges and believes he doesn't belong in decent society, but since his brother married into the Ton he has no choice. He meets the very alluring Leticia, she is a widow and cousin to his brother's wife. She gets the wrong idea about him and believes he is trying to corrupt her younger brother Griffin. But, sparks fly despite their differences and even though it's frowned upon they begin an affair. But, will Jack's life as a criminal prove too much for their budding relationship?

This was a sweet, sexy, and exciting read. It has the right balance of all the elements that make a good historical romance, a dashing and roguish hero, a strong and beautiful heroine, lots of chemistry and plenty of angst to make it interesting. All in all a great read that I really enjoyed.

Just to start out I. Love. Jess Michaels! I'm sad that this is the last book in The Wicked Woodleys series but what a way to end it. Jack "Captin Jack" Blackwood has met his match in widow Lady Letitia "Letty" Seagate. They first meet at War Blackwood and Claire Woodleys wedding in Ruined the last book in the series. Being the king of the underworld has its perks and its downsides like giving up family and any hopes of a peaceful future. But the more he's around the beautiful Letty he wants more even when he knows he can't. Letty is far stronger then she seems in the beginning and I loved how she stood up to Jack and showed him compassion and caring when he does not deserve it. No matter what Letty will fight for what she wants and that's the man she knows Jack to be.
Please read this series so you will know the joy these books have brought me.

A solid read in the genre, although possibly a few too many Americanisms and moments of modern speech for purists. I enjoyed the good girl/bad boy theme but did wonder if the story wandered a little into the realm of the ridiculous with Jack's frequent references to his ruling 'the underground' and calling his gang HQ his 'lair'.

The seduction alluded to in the title doesn't seem such a big part of the plot, with neither hero nor heroine requiring copious amounts of persuasion. While it wasn't a very deep tale, it has been a fun and easy read. It's part of a series, but I don't feel I needed to read the previous books, so it works very well as a stand-alone story.

Jack Blackwood has problems on top of his problems. From his strained reunion and relationship with his brother, to the numerous criminals who are trying to take away his title of King of the Underworld, to a bored gentleman trying to join his gang, and now Jack has the added distraction of the gentleman’s widowed sister, Lady Letitia Seagate who is so desperate to keep her brother out of the underworld she begins to follow and pester Jack. With Letty so close by all the time, the initial attraction Jack felt for her begins to grow and so does Letty’s fascination with Jack.

Jack was a scoundrel, no doubt about that but he also had a hidden code of ethics that I wasn’t expecting just based on the scenes he had in the previous book. One thing that was beyond a doubt was that he loved his brother War and their estrangement hurt him. Jack’s strength and his weakness was in the people he loved and as that small list grew he had to decide if it would make him weak or strong so watching him have that internal struggle made him all that more interesting. I’m so glad that Jess Michaels didn’t wait until later in the book to show that part of Jack’s personality because it really does push him as a character to make great decisions and not so great ones but more importantly it allowed me as a reader to have an immediate connection to him as a character.

I loved Letty to bits! She was a titled lady yet still related to her wallflower days when she was watching the world go by. She loved her family, especially her younger brother and was willing to do anything to keep him safe but at the same time she wasn’t so selfless that she got boring. She was fascinated by Jack and definitely attracted to him so she pursued him and she called a lot of the shots when it came to her and Jack’s relationship, only I don’t think she was aware of how much of a hold she had on Jack. My one complaint with Letty is that towards the end she has a “brain dead” moment where she does something totally stupid and almost gets herself and others killed. Up until that moment she had shown herself to be a highly intelligent and observant heroine so, what happened? I guess it was done to show how dashing and heroic Jack could be but it didn’t work for me. What good is a dashing and heroic hero if the heroine did something stupid to get that result?

Jack and Letty shared a pretty intense connection the moment they met, like they recognized that hidden part of each other that just wanted to feel accepted for who they were. I liked that connection because it meant that they wouldn’t be able to stay away from each other out of curiosity and the physical attraction. Their relationship started out as more physical in spite of the beginnings of an emotional connection already present but it worked for these two as a sort of “safe” side so that they didn’t have to deal with those emotions and the consequences that would come from it. As a couple they fit so well and were pretty similar once the obstacle of social status was removed. All in all, I liked them as a couple as much as I liked them as individuals.

I’m so glad that Jack’s brother War was a part of Seduced because I really wanted these two to just be brothers again without all the crap they had between them in the last book. It was clear that they loved each other but War couldn’t fully trust Jack so it was nice to have the brothers work together again but this time without so much distrust between them. I also loved seeing some of the Woodleys again, even if it was just a brief scene here and there. I love the eclectic family who placed love above social status and society’s good opinion.

Since Seduced is officially the end of the Woodleys I have to say that the series went out with a bang! It was the best of the series in my opinion and Jack lived up to the idea I had of him since the previous book. I’m so glad that Jess Michaels saved Jack and Letty’s story for last because it really did make for a great reading experience.

Final Verdict: Jack and Letty were a perfect way to end such a lovely series about a family whose loyalty and love for one another knows no bounds. These two characters had to overcome their troubled pasts which made them likable and the romance was steamy good.
