Mary and her husband are involved in a terrible car crash. With her husband lying terribly injured beside her, Mary watches a set of feet emerge from behind the car they crashed into and walk over to where she is sprawled. One of the feet kicks her in the jaw and she blacks out.
When she wakes, she is still at the crash site but on a stretcher. Her husband is on a stretcher beside her and, despite his injuries, is trying to tell her something. A large crowd has gathered and a number of people are recording the event with their phones. She goes ballistic and attacks them.
When she comes round in hospital, she is informed that her husband died of his injuries. Worse still, the most traumatic event of her life has become a YouTube sensation with footage of her attack on the onlookers being viewed all over the world.
Mary learns that the man driving the car in front vanished from the scene. The car was registered under a false name. She must contact every person she attacked who recorded the event and ask for their help.
But somebody is murdering the people who used their hand held devices and is removing their recordings. Mary must try to reach them before the digital fragments of the event disappear altogether.
As Mary moves closer to the truth. she realizes the crash conceals a secret someone will do anything to conceal.

Is there anyone who doesn't know what "going viral" means? Is there anyone without a cell phone that takes pictures? Is anyone not familiar with YOUTUBE?
Beth Jordan is involved in an auto accident that ultimately takes her husband's life. When she comes to, she's laying on the ground and there are dozens of people who are taking pictures and filming the aftermath.
When she wakes weeks later in the hospital, she is told her husband died and has been cremated. She also learns that million of people have seen the phone clips which were shared online. The driver of the other car has vanished ... the van had been stolen .. . and Beth needs those recordings to piece together what really happened.
As she recovers in her brother's home, she starts looking at the clips. She sees her husband whispering something to the paramedic who was attending him.
As she begins her search to find this paramedic, she also discovers something else. Some of the clips are disappearing off the internet .. and the people who filmed the accident have been murdered.
So what was filmed that someone doesn't want out there? What did her husband say to the paramedic?
And who is the man who keeps coming after her ... the one who wants her dead?
This one drew me in from the very beginning. It's a gripping thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end. There are a couple of major twists that seem to swirl around the entire story.
The characters are well thought out. Beth is a woman who has it all .. a loving husband, a new home, and she's happy with her life. She seems so determined and strong .. and wonders who she will be now. Her brother, Jody, is what I would expect an older brother to be. They've not always been close, but he's trying so hard to get it right. He's loving and caring and worries.
The killer is a sadistic serial killer. He's brutal in his favorite way to kill ... and it doesn't matter if it's a man, woman, or child. The reader gets to meet him early on in the story, but who is he working for? and why?
Many thanks to the author / Endeavour Press / NetGalley who provided a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
Unfortunately this one was a miss for me. It took me forever to get through it and I almost couldn't finish it. I was not hooked by the story and found it boring and confusing. Even by the end it didn't make a whole lot of sense. The alternating POVs didn't add to the story but muddled it further. I thank NetGalley for the book and am sorry I didn't like it more.
OMG,this book is AMAZING,packed full of action, danger and twists,it rockets along faster than a car with twenty canisters of noz jammed in its engine.
The action starts on the first page when Beth Jordan wakes up next to her husband Luc after they have been involved in an accident while on holiday in France and follows Beth as she tries to find out what her husband whispered to a paramedic as he lay dying on a gurney. Her quest for the truth is made more complicated by the fact that she is being hunted by a psycho assassin who is hell bent on killing her which puts her in a number of dangerous situations that are packed with heart pounding action.Adding to the mystery of the story is the fact that someone is killing off a number of exchange students who filmed the aftermath of the crash on their iPhones and put the footage on the internet,is there a connection between their deaths and the person or people that want Beth killed.
The story is told from the point of view of a number of characters most of which are not very likeable due to their actions but mainly by Beth who is a very likeable heroine and Mimic who is really very creepy and comes across as more like a robot than a human being.
The book is very well written, packed with non stop action, very gripping and I loved every minute of it.If you like books about ordinary people getting caught up in dangerous situations because of the actions of others then you will definitely enjoy this book as much as I did.
Many thanks to the publishers Endeavour Press for a ARC of this book via netgalley
The story mainly focuses on Beth Jordan, who tries to understand why a person could assault when she was crawling out of her car after the accident. She is smart, resourceful and courageous and as we identify with her, we're as resolved as her to discover the truth about these videos. The other characters in the novel appear briefly, often the time of the disappearance of their video, apart from the owner of the latest video and his family that we follow a longer time. So we did not really have time to connect with them, especially since they are not, a priori, really likable. They have put their online video with touts and insulting titles for Beth they name "bitch".
The pace intensifies progressively. Initially, the novel focuses on the return to life of Beth, on her discovery of the death of her husband and the fact that life went on without her. This part is very well led, it allows us to feel Beth's feelings and to understand later how horrible are the online videos. When Beth understands that they disappear go, she tries to contact the owners to find that they die one after the other. From there, the tempo accelerates as Beth must find the other owners before they disappear. Her purpose is both to warn them of the danger and finding what, in the video, is so compromising. What was once a simple quest for Beth who wanted to see the last moments of her husband, while she passed out, eventually became a real enigma. Knowing who wants to remove the video and witnesses and why doing so become her priority... and ours.
I do not like movies where the main character risks her/his life by systematically taking the wrong decision and in which the villain keeps coming back. It has the knack of getting on my nerves - literally. I usually end up yelling at the character "come now, don't go there", "c'mon, end him, or he'll come back!" I must say it's very rare that a character listens to me (if not ever) and when the film ends, the cushion of the couch lost some feathers. This book makes me feel the same way. Beth runs after the truth and harvests trouble but carry on her race anyway. So for fans of this kind of suspense, this book is excellent: go buy it! I must say that the author is very good to describe vivid scenes, especially those of fear and panic.
One thing I liked about Stalk me is the thought behind the story. What society do we form when people film others's misfortune, use it to collect crumbs of glory on the Internet or even make money with it. When people allow themselves to insult a person seen in a video without knowing his history, without knowing the context in which that person is. The ease with which people, sheltered behind the screen, criticize, injure, insult or demean others is present in the book and it reflects reality.
In a nutshell
A very interesting story, a main character in which it's easy to identify yourself, a never ending irritating suspense that you blows you away. This is a 3.5/5. (Originally posted at vanessa-s-bookshelves.blogspot.ca)
That evening began much like any other. Luc and Beth Jordan on holiday, not only recuperating from an attack on Beth by a mugger, but taking a break from the stresses of purchasing their new home. They were on their way to have dinner at a favorite restaurant, Beth at the wheel, and Luc amused at something on his cell. The road ahead was clear, and all was well. Beth looked away from the road for a brief moment, her gaze meeting Luc’s, and in that split second, her life would be changed forever.
After striking the camper, their car flipped upside-down. She smelled gasoline, and knew she had to get them both away from the vehicle. Severely injured and confused, she made her way out of the car and onto the road. She crawled toward the sound of footsteps on gravel. Was it another driver who had come upon the scene and stopped to assist them?
Lying face down on the roadway, as she turned, she could see a pair of feet and tried to cry out. She was weak and it was more and more difficult to keep her head up, all the while fighting to remain conscious. She must tell whoever is there that Luc is still in the car, suspended over the airbag. She raised her head and saw someone standing in front of her. As soon as she tried to speak, a foot swung back and kicked her square in her face. Before she sunk into total darkness, she heard the crack of her teeth and jaw as they shattered.
When she next awoke, she turned and saw Luc on a gurnee next to her. Paramedics and emergency vehicles had arrived. She also saw a crowd nearby, kept back by yellow police tape, all leaning in to get a closer look at her and Luc. She turned back to her husband again, and in the midst of his pain and confusion, she heard him mumble “Sorry…”.
Beth could now see the crowd holding up their phones to film the grisly scene. Rage gave her the strength to stagger to her feet and head straight for the ghouls who were recording the most horrific day in hers and Luc’s lives. She lunged at them, prepared to strike, and they retreated, yet continued to record. She heard the med-evac helicopter arriving as she was restrained and returned to her gurnee by paramedics. Mercifully, she lost consciousness.
Weeks later, on awakening from coma, she learned her husband did not survive the crash. On discharge from the hospital, she would be staying at her brother’s place, and it was from her brother that she learned film clips of the scene of hers and Luc’s accident had been uploaded to the Internet. It was traumatic and heartbreaking for her, but she knew she had to see them. It was then her real nightmare began.
Something in the clips is all wrong. Beth’s questions do not bring answers--only more questions. Those she seeks the truth from disappear or are murdered, and she soon finds herself the target of a stalker. The closer she gets to uncovering the details and reasons behind the events of that night, the closer she gets to crossing paths with a brutal and unrelenting killer. Still, she must solve this puzzle--for the sake of her husband’s memory, and to save her own life.
Stalk Me is a dark peek into the dangerous side of technology. We all have phones, we all have the Internet. These are wonderful tools for accessing and sharing information. However, given the depraved curiosity some humans possess to record and share with the world the pain, humiliation, suffering and death of their fellow creatures under the guise of entertainment, these tools can prove deadly in their own right.
You witness a shocking event, you record it, and you post it so your friends can view it and you can sit back and regale them with tales of what a precarious position filming that occurrence put you in. What you fail to remember is that once your ‘work’ is out there, viewing it is not restricted to you and your buddies. Anyone and everyone can see it--even those involved in the event, and it can be traced back right to your front door…
Richard Parker thrilled us with Stop Me and Scare Me, and he has hit the heights yet again with this, his third stand-alone novel. Stalk Me will draw you in, it will excite you, it will upset you, and it will terrify you. Most definitely another must-read from Richard Parker.

MY THOUGHTS A very interesting story, a main character in which it's easy to identify yourself, a never ending irritating suspense that you blows you away.
I did not like the many point of views of the story which does make you dizzy at times and hard to follow between everyone, especially the flashbacks of Mary and her husband.
What I liked about this book is how it brings out society today and how there is always someone there to record your terrible moment, i.e. car accident and are so quick to upload it to the internet for everyone to see. I really did like the plot twist at the end, it was very clearly handled!
This was better than the title suggested. Beth and Luc are having a short holiday in France before moving into their new home. But one night they have a terrible accident, their car hitting a van stopped on the road. Beth is terribly injured and Luc dies on his way to hospital. Beth is in a coma for weeks but on being discharged she starts to wonder about the accident and finally forces herself to view the 6 or so You Tube clips that were posted by a group of American students travelling in a minibus who happened upon the scene as the ambulance crew was ministering to Beth and Luc.
Then one of the clips disappears and Beth learns that the young man who took the footage was horribly murdered. To try and make sense of what happened she tries to track down some of the other people from the accident scene, including one of the paramedics that Luke spoke to. But as she travels back to France and then on the US more and more of the spectators from the minibus are being killed and Beth realises she is also in grave danger as the killer comes after her too. But why? She can't make sense of things but tries to warn the last young man (left alive) who uploaded a clip to You Tube and his family. But will she be in time? And will she escape the clutches of the killer herself?
This was a very tense and gripping book. What started out as a bit of a question mark soon developed into a rampaging sense of menace. That, and a killer who was completely implacable, just doing a job (relentlessly), keeps you turning the pages.
What a great book this book starts at an terrible car crash with Beth Jordan and her husband. Beth blacks out and when she comes around her husband is laying next to her on a stretcher trying to tell her something, lots of people are there filming on there phones and Beth attacks them. Beths husband doesnt make it he dies at the hospital to make matters worse what happened is now all over the internet on You Tube. The car that hit them the driver has disappeared and the car is registered under a false name her husbands dying words were Allego what does that mean. Beth finds out the the people who was filming that day are slowly disappearing along with there videos. A great edge of the seat thriller.
Thank you netgalley the Publisher and Author for a copy to review
Right from the very start this book was incredibly gripping. We begin with a couple being involved in a dreadful car crash but what happens from that moment on is incredibly chilling. The fact that people start filming the scene on their mobile phones is horrifying enough but then incredibly those clips are posted on YouTube and Facebook makes you realise what an unpleasant society we now live in. Once she recovers from her appalling injuries, Beth is naturally incensed about finding her terrifying ordeal plastered all over the internet and reluctantly feels drawn to watching them to try to piece together the sequence of events that she can not remember due to her injuries and the length of time she spent in a coma. All she is aware of is that her husband survived just long enough to utter the word “sorry” to her and the fact that someone kicked her in the face while she lay on the ground struggling to get out of the wrecked car.
As if this isn’t bad enough, what follows is a gripping and horrific account of her attempts for find out what exactly her husband whispered to a paramedic while Beth was trying to stop the watchers from filming events. We are then taken on a terrifying journey which ultimately ends in her near death and the final twist, when she eventually finds out exactly what happened, is unexpected and as much of a shock to the reader as it was to the character herself.
I love Richard Parker’s imagination and the way he manages to instil a sense of fear into the reader which keeps you turning page after page until you reach the conclusion of what is always a rollercoaster of a ride through his wonderful narrative. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a gripping good read.
Just getting my breath back after finishing this book. Beth and Luc are travelling through France before they move into their new home. After a car accident and Luc’s death, Beth has to deal with those last few moments where the tragedy was captured on witnesses phones. As she tries to discover what Luc’s final words were, Beth finds herself in a bigger mystery that endangers not only her life. Tense, action-packed and so many twists. Couldn’t put it down. The pace really picks up at the end and the final twist comes as a shock. Highly recommended.
I found this a bit slow to start with but I persevered. I am so glad I did, it was one of those thrillers where once you get the gist of the plot and the characters you find it very hard to put down. I felt I was taken on a terrifying journey with so many twists, the characters were believable, the plot was full of suspense and the final plot wow! I was left dumbfounded by that final dark twist. Excellent book bravo.
I did not care for this book. It really did not keep me going. I just felt there was too much of a chase and they don’t tell you why the chase is going on. All of this until the very end. I was confused at certain points not really understanding what was going on. Somebody wants to kill you, but you don’t know why and don’t really ask or ask what’s going on.
After abstention for many years I started to read a more recent James Patterson book. It was absolute rubbish! I then came across this Richard Parker as a freebie download and it is everything that Patterson used to be. Full of intrigue and violent killings it gripped me from the start. Eat your heart out James Patterson.
I received a free copy via Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.
OK so this is a action packed thriller with plenty of twists. Unfortunately I did not like the way it was written due to the story line being hard to follow between the characters.
I was excited by the premise but the story was so farfetched that I couldn't really enjoy it as much as I would have liked to. It gets a bonus star cause the ending is really nail-biting
If what makes a great thriller the sense that someone is always watching you, that every choice you make, every thing that you will do, will be shut down by someone and there's nothing you can do about it -- then this is a great thriller.
Stalk Me starts with a car accident. Beth Jordan has survived, just barely, and when she sees legs coming toward her, she thinks she is on her way to being rescued. Instead, feet stamp her already battered body into unconsciousness. Somehow, Beth manages to survive, which only begins a reign of terror for her.
In our modern age of cell phone videos and immediate uplink to sites like Facebook and YouTube, the accident scene is recorded by many, as a tour bus happens on the scene. Beth is revived by ambulance workers and begins assaulting people, concerned for her own safety after being stamped upon. The videos go online, which Beth watches after her hospital recovery, but slowly, the videos, and the people who posted them, disappear.
When Beth discovers that someone is systematically killing everyone who posted a video of her accident scene, she makes it her mission to warn these strangers that their lives may be in danger. She also wants to know what is in the videos that is so compromising that it's worth killing for.
The book builds beautifully to the denouement which is a wonderfully tense scene in the middle of nowhere. If the book itself isn't a 'can't-put-down' thriller, this confrontation is, with flip-flopping roles, plenty of action, and a rising sense of fear and doom. The conclusion comes, just as you might expect with a thriller, with a quick breath of relief, and then another heart-stopping moment.
This is a thriller in the classic vein of thrillers. It is almost formulaic in its construction and delivery.
But ... yes, there is a 'but' ... this book also relies on another formulaic trait that I don't care for. A trait that appears too often in thrillers.
The stupidity of the main character.
Beth makes wrong choice after wrong choice. Two incidents stick with me as simply being stupid. First, Beth has been trying to get ahold of the paramedic who reacts shocked in the videos, at the last words from Beth's dying husband. Beth is told that the paramedic had died. But when she receives a phone call from the 'dead' woman, who insists that she remain 'dead' to everyone else and lets it be known that she's taking a real risk in contacting Beth, Beth wants to know more. Every time the phone rings after that call, she answers by calling the paramedic by name and "Is that you?" You know someone is after you. You know someone wants to remain 'dead' but you let anyone who calls you know that you've spoken to the 'dead' person? Is this smart?
Second...after a direct attack on her person, she gets police protection. She has struggled to get anyone to believe that she was attacked at the car accident, but finally has convincing evidence of an attack, protection, and most likely the ability to convince the police that there's something serious going on. And what does she do...? She tricks her police protection and goes off on her own. This, more than any other action in the book, defies logic and common sense and actually made me think "You deserve whatever happens to you now."
Looking for a good book? This has wonderful, exciting, heart-pounding writing that relies just a little too much of formulaic characters for my taste.
Beth tried to look up and along the curving road, but her aching spine only allowed her to raise her vision enough to glimpse the bottom half of the skewed camper in front. The chocolate-brown back doors were mangled and the French license plate lay in the other debris that had been smashed from it, but the vehicle was still the right way up. In the gap between its underside and the road, she could see a pair of feet moving. Dark navy trousers and black boots. She cried out, not recognizing the mournful howl that emerged from her, but hoping it would be loud enough to attract their attention. Her face dropped into the puddle a second time and she had to blow a few bubbles of air into the water before she could raise her head again. Beth fought unconsciousness, and when she cracked her eyes and blinked the water from them, somebody was standing beside her, a smudgy black silhouette against the failing daylight. She opened her mouth, fighting oblivion to alert them to Luc's predicament. The foot swung back and kicked Beth squarely in the face. Before the impact embedded her deep into unconsciousness, she heard the squeak of her teeth and a flat crunch as her jaw fragmented.
When Beth woke to find herself in the hospital, the doctors informed her that her jawbone had been in fragments when she was admitted and had to be replaced with plates. She also learned that she had been in a coma for over eight weeks. Her first question - "Luc?" Where is he? Did her survive the crash? Unfortunately, the answers weren't what she wanted to hear. But Beth was soon to learn that this was just the beginning of what awaits her as she travels from France to America in search of answers to the last word Luc uttered to her... "sorry" and the one word she was told he uttered to the emergency nurse at the site "Allegro."
Author Richard Parker has a knack for writing books that will keep you not only on the edge of your seat but also finding it impossible to put down . This book is no exception. Each chapter fills the reader with nail biting action that draws you tightly into the story. And with the chapters being 1 - 2 pages long, you'll find it hard not to read 'just one more.' I can never get enough of his books.
STALK ME is an intense and clever thriller that thrusts the reader into a world devoid of reason and brimming with suffocating paranoia. For Mary and her husband, slowly and steadily building a life together, times are starting to look up; successful job, new house, and then disaster strikes. Mary’s picture perfect reality becomes a fractured and damaged portrait of a happy marriage hung inside a broken frame. The catalyst; a fatal car accident that, while on face value, is the root cause, is actually the tip of the iceberg which turns Mary’s blood splattered life ice cold.
Recovering (physically at least) from the accident, Mary soon learns that her trauma is public property when youtube clips of the incident go viral. Her actions displayed for all to see; the lashing out at passer-bys, the struggle with paramedics, the death of her husband. In an age where celebrity is everyone and anything, not even the most personal of moments is excluded from the circus. It’s this present day environment and use of social media that spans a cross continent mystery involving the deaths of many of those present at the accident scene that fateful day and the broader uncovering of a life Mary had thought she knew she was living.
Mimic, the serial killer underpinning the deaths in STALK ME, is a well defined monster, who looks and acts the part of a determined purposeful killer – to him, murder is a job, one he’s skilled and passionate about. Unfortunately for Mary and her family, she’s within his sights.
Like SCARE ME, author Richard Parker has written another edge of your seat thriller that, if anything else builds upon his capacity to spin an utterly engrossing and complex thriller. STALK ME is one book where you won’t be able to determine the rationale behind the heinous events nor establish a link between the disturbing social media parade of injustice and Mary’s personal life – which makes for great reading.
STALK ME is one of the best books of 2014 so far and I have little doubt it’ll end up on my end of year lists.
I received this ARC to give an honest review. This was one of those books that I found myself turning the pages and keeping my nose deep into the book. Beth and her husband Luc are on their way to dinner when the unthinkable happens. They wreck, but what happens next is a whole series of events that spiral and Beth is caught in the cross hairs. Beth is trying to piece together what has exactly happened at the wreck but it seems everything that has been recorded, is being erased. Beth being a strong character starts figuring out what is going on but is it too late for her?
Now I literally kept wondering who is doing this? What is their business with Beth? What shady dealings did Beth's husband Luc venture into? For me there was a HUGE surprise towards the end that had me going oh wow totally didn't see that part coming. We meat minor characters but this book mostly focuses on Beth and quest to find answers, along with a mysterious character we learn just a little about through out the story.
The plot is a constant movement there is no dull points within the story. There seems to be action on almost every page once Beth starts searching for answers. I love how the author uses how people are today when they see something going on. Whether it is good or bad, people seem to always want to record something and post it up on YouTube. The author was able to write it into the story to where you can for sure connect with something like that. Makes you think about what is or has been recorded and put up on the internet.
I like this author's writing style and hope to read more books like this in the future.
Having previously read "Stop Me" and "Scare Me", I was very eager to start this third book. I only needed to find the time. Once I did, the author immediately cast me headlong into the story and I couldn't stop until the journey had ended. If you've read him, you know the internet and social networking sites are big. In fact, I would hazard to say that he is cutting edge when it comes to crafting his stories for 2015. This time it is Facebook and YouTube as plot devices as our lead character awakens to discover that her worst nightmare has been downloaded for the world to see. Soon, she comes to realize that she, too, can use those videos not as an evil pleasure or a twisted way to make money, but as pieces of a puzzle to reveal what really has become of her life. Once again, Parker did his masterful job of plotting. A few breadcrumbs will be followed quite easily, allowing the reader to anticipate their way through some of the story; while others will not be so easy to follow because of their twists and turns. That's not to say that Parker isn't very good at what he does. He does that on purpose. It's his way of setting the hook. Parker really is a twisted master that way. He continues to create dark amusement park rides from hell that spin and climb and descend. You will find yourself gripped by them in such a way that although you could quite easily stop, put the book down and walk away, you will be unable to do so. You just have to see how it ends. And, oh, does it end well. They always do. I told you he was a master. I really cannot wait to see what's next...
Richard Parker’s ‘Stalk Me’ is a must-read for those craving a dose of adrenaline and mystery having just put down the likes of ‘Gone Girl’ or ‘The Girl on the Train’. The novel has a cinematic feel, each tableau of grisly murder is laid out in visceral detail and the pace, although flighty from the outset, picks up speed - accelerating as the intrigue deepens. The main protagonist, Beth, is relatable and believable; Parker paints the sharp ongoing pain of loss with true feeling and drags the reader along with Beth’s increasing fear. While you may find yourself shouting at her for some questionable decisions with regards to her safety, the constant twists and thrills distract you from being frustrated despite her seeming pursuit of death. Mimic, the central antagonist assassin steps over the line of creepy into the downright disturbing, but his matter of fact dislocation from his actions took me even further in as I searched for a motive and for his humanity (which fails to ever surface). SLIGHT SPOILERS BELOW: The final reveal, while exciting and unexpected knocks a star off this novel for me as it was slightly over the edge of being too coincidental and farfetched while the rest of the novel slightly stretched but mainly ranged within the realms of the plausible.
In summary: Yes, it's not as good as our favourites like 'Girl on the Train' but it ticks many of the same boxes.
Stalk Me has a good plot. I especially like the accident scene at the beginning and subsequent events. It is horrible at the way the onlookers treated the accident, but isn’t that’s exactloy how it is today? The videos being uploaded to youtube, Mary using facebook to contact these people, the killer using latest technology to hunt his victims, mother trying to control her children’s internet usage, and one of the characters capturing her friends’ embarassing moments via phone camera to use against them in near future—they are all very similar to our today’s reality.
The alternating point of views use to tell the story make me dizzy. I’d prefer a fewer point of view but I guess, it is important for the story to be told such in order to let the readers have more insights into the characters’ motives. However, this doesn’t add to my enjoyment of this story. It seems dragging—especially the flashbacks between Mary and her husband that there are moments when I almost give up on the book. The final resolution is disappointing. I don’t know what I expect, but it is not that. The little plot twist, on the other hand, is cleverly handled. It is one of the few things I like.
4 ½ *stars REALLY I HATE TECHNOLOGY SOMETIMES ESPECIALLY IN CASES LIKE BETH EXPERIENCED. SOMETIMES PEOPLE CAN BE SO CRUEL NOW DAYS EVERYONE IS AN INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER. THERE IS SO MUCH ACCESS TO EACH OTHER AND STILL WE DON’T UNDERSTAND ONE ANOTHER ANY BETTER. TECHNOLOGY HASN’T BROUGHT US TOGETHER AT ALL, IT’S JUST MADE US MORE NUMB TO OTHERS FEELINGS. IT SHOULD BE CALLED THE FARTHERNET THE CLOSER CONNECTED WE GET THE MORE HARD & CALLOUS SOCIETY BECOMES. NOBODY CARES ABOUT WHAT THEY SAY OR DO ANYMORE. THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR THE FAINT O’HEART OR THE SQUEAMISH, ITS VERY GORY AT TIMES (my kind of book). BETH MADE SOME VERY STUPID CHOICES, SHE MADE ME ANGRY. HOW COULD SHE DO WHAT SHE WAS DOING WITH HARDLY ANY SLEEP OR FOOD? THE KILLER IS TRULY RELENTLESS, I WONDERED HOW COULD THEY CONTINUE THIS INSANITY. I DID FIGURED OUT WHO REALLY LET THE DOGS OUT WAY BEFORE THE ENDING SO IT CAME AS NO SURPRISE . YEAH! ;D
Stalk Me is an interesting concept which I feel has not been done before and is relevant to todays society. When something does viral these days we are all guilty to jump on the band wagon and essentially give it more steam.
What I liked about this story was the idea and how fast it moved from the onset. Its filled with mystery and it keeps you gripped.
Although I found Mary a little 'flat' at times she was the perfect lead for this book.
I read this in 2 sittings and devoured it from start to finish. I'm amazed there are not more reviews of this book online as I feel it will be well liked by those who love mystery/thrillers.
Not a bad read just too long. Based on the ending I think the story could have been told in less than 81 plus chapters. In the first 20 chapters the main character, Beth, was quite boring compared to the other main character, Mimic. His actions throughout the book kept me interested and most of the action in this book centered around him. All the suspense in the story was the not knowing why he was doing the things he did until the end. Having said that, I did like the ending and was very surprised with some of the unexpected revelations. I think I would recommend it to friends and family.
Excellent! I would read more books from this author any time. The reader is taken on Beth Jordan's journey to find the truth behind everything that started on that horrible day her husband died. Someone assaults her whilst she escapes from the car wreck, and when help finally arrives, the age of social media takes over. It becomes a frenzy when she confronts the group of kids who are recording everything. The videos go viral. And from there on, as she wakes up from a coma, it's a non stop action and suspense ride. I recommend this book. It's excellent!
What a roller coaster ride!! This story takes you from a horrendous car crash to an unexpected death!!! Full of heartfelt tragedy, betrayal, terror, bravery, a strength for survival that goes beyond measure. There are several strong characters in this book, but I like surprises in my books, so I won't divulge any details. It is sufficient to say that this is an extraordinary book. I would definitely add it to my collection of favorites!!! 5stars
This was a creative suspense story. I had no idea about what was really going on until the very end. I was fully absorbed in trying to figure it out. It was a good read. The character development was very good. I love that the author didn't feel it necessary to add the usual filler of sex and foul language. I didn't have any trouble following the story, as a couple of other reviewers did. I'll definitely try more by this author.
