3.5 Stars - Pretty darn good! Yeah, we have insta-lust/love and you have to push reality aside a bit to "get" to where this plot takes you, but it's a good story and I'm on to Book 2, cuz it had quite the cliffy!!! Camilla is in college, about to graduate, and she gets a call that her father has died and she has things to do to settle his estate. Camilla has a very distant, but loving, relationship with her dad. She shows up to take care of things, and finds out she truly did not know her father and what he did for a living. And there she meets Nolan - all kinds of older, hella-hot, alpha maleness...and falls for him. And he's not all he appears to be, and has some secrets he's keeping from her!

The heroine gets a call that her father is dead. She is flown to his house where she meets her father's partner or whatever he is. The heroine is 21 years old and had not seen her father since she was 16 years old. The heroine says she does not want the estate and money, but she is also going to get access to her trust fund which her mother set up before she died. The heroine is very rich, but does not act like a spoiled rich girl. There are secrets and other things the heroine finds out about her father, but I lost interest before any of that came into light.
This just did not work for me. The pace at times was so slow. Plus, I heard the story ends in a cliffy (I love cliffys), but then I saw in a review that there is no word on when book 2 will be out. When I tried to find the author's website to see if she had info, the site was closed. Then I am not sure if I had the right twitter and FB page since there are no links from GR. I am not sure what is going on.

Camilla Hunt is a senior in college, prepping to graduate when she is told to contact Nolan Weston about her father. The last time she saw her father was on her sixteenth birthday where he took her to Austria. Camilla has always been under the impression her father ran a law firm since he did get his law degree. When Nolan tells Camilla her father is dead, she is summoned to his Tahoe home where Nolan meets her. She remembers him as the man her father met in Salzburg and apparently Nolan works for The Hunt Group. While there she learns what kind of business/work her father really did. Nolan is a handsome, strong alpha, but his ability to let lies roll off his tongue makes you wonder what is the truth coming out of his mouth?!?! Camilla is pretty much an orphan after losing her mother to cancer and not having a close relationship with her father, but through all that, she's made it! She is strong willed and fiercely independent. When she over hears Nolan's phone conversation, she runs back to school, but who shows up at her graduation-----that's right----Nolan!! He has some things to tell her and boy, are they a doozy!! Excellent cliffhanger in this one so if you don't like them this isn't for you. It is definitely one of my favorite stories so far from Ms. Ryan!! Received an ARC for an honest review.

I like him, still not sure if he is.. but he is a cool hero. Not boring I enjoyed reading this book.
My Camilla
I loved the fact that she was not your typical shy needy virgin! Thank god. She was not annoying or boring but strong female.
I really looking forward to second book, please be early june!!

The Mentor
Enjoyed the book. Hate serials. By the time the next installment comes out I will have forgotten this story. Why do authors do this? Ms. Ryan introduces a "new" book at the end of book 1. Why not just finish the first one. I don't know how many books will be in this series but I will just wait until they are all out to read them.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Alison Ryan does it again! She has the ability to weave a story that captivates her readers from the very first page and keeps them hanging onto the edge of their seats until the very end and even then, leaves them wanting more. Mystery, suspense, attraction, secrets, lies, hot sex scenes... everything a reader wants in a book.

This book immediately drew me in and once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. Alison Ryan really brought Camilla & Nolan's characters to life and they are written in such a way that you can feel the chemistry between them. This book will have your pulse racing and your heart breaking then throw in a tantalizing cliffhanger and it will keep you coming back for more!!! I can't wait to find out what happens next. Camille lives in the world where she is surrounded by liars. So, when Nolan Weston comes back into her life, she is not ready for someone who is not truthful to her. Her father who recently passed away led a life of deception... I really liked how the story line played out, just wished there wasn't a lot of grammatical errors. What do you expect for free... right.

I'm ready to read the sequel.
Although the story line is not new, I was captivated by Nolan and Carmella's relationship. I had a feeling from the beginning that her father needed to be dead to the world. The intrigue that follows in the sequel is what I'm looking forward to.

Quick read but kept my interest all the way. This one ends in a cliffhanger but have no fear, the final installment is out so you don’t have to wait forever to find out what happens next.
Camilla is a smart woman that is 3 months away from graduating and starting her life. Her mom died at a young age and her dad sent her off to boarding school. She long to have a relationship with her father but his job kept him away. She receives call from her aunt informing her that her dad died and to contact Nolan Weston.
After speaking with Nolan, she’s on a plane to Tahoe and now snowed in for a few days. Feeling more alone than she ever did before, she turns to Nolan for comfort and that is when it starts to get a little crazy. Nolan gives her a glimpse of what her father’s business really is and she doesn’t want anything to do with it. In less than a week, she has fallen for him but when she over hears a phone call, she runs back to school to try and forget all the hotness that is wrapped in one Noland Weston.
After three months of radio silence, she slowly comes to term about her fling with Nolan. On graduation day, things flip upside down and sideways for her and of course Nolan is the center of it all.

Received this as a free book. First time for this author. Finding out her father has died and his company does spying for the wealthy is a shocker. Finding herself falling in love with her father's assistant is another.

This is the first book I've read in a long time that was truly unique! I LOVED the concept and the execution was darn near perfect. Do you like the show Scandal? If you're like me, you loved it right up until the abortion episode...now, I'M DONE! But I'm still intrigued by fixers. So let's get to it.
The Good: The intrigue, the secrets, the plot twists, Nolan...etc.
The Not So Good: The sex scenes...not needed at all when the plot was so good.

Wow!
I wasn't sure what to expect, but this book was amazing!!! It kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going on. Very well written. I loved how the author integrated the history of the main character, it wasn't stiff and tedious like a lot of books tend to be when going over character history. I loved every sentence of the book and can't wait until the next installment! I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Tha is a book about two people who are drawn together by a secret. Nolan is charged with watching over Camilla after her fathers death. She mets him in Tahoe California. They get snowed n for three days and they find their mutual attraction is too hard to resist. It's supposed to be only till they can leave but they can't leave each other alone. This book a lot of twists and turns. The ending left me anxiously waiting for the next one. Good book.

I love all Alison Ryan books and this one might be my favorite. I got a copy through ARC and can't wait for the others in this series. Camilla's dad dies and Nolan is helping her with his business affairs. They are both attracted to one another and secrets are discovered

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Holy hotpants! Talk about an emotional roller coaster. Loving someone from afar definitely applies to both Nolan and Camilla. I cannot wait for the next installment, I am dying to know the true story behind Camilla's father's "disappearance".

Very good book.

Before reading The Mentor I had heard many great things about the book, but it was even better than I expected! The Mentor combines drama, romance, and a little bit of mystery for a steamy read. I will definitely be continuing this series!

It was short, but well written, but I hate being suckered into reading a cliffhanger. I especially don't like reading a cliffhanger in which the conclusion is not available. Grrrr!
