Gone Wrong

Rate this book
Pacific Book Review proclaims Gone Wrong is "a unique adventure in the political thriller genre ... fun and fast paced with action, romance, thrilling car chases and sinister reveals." Norcal, a government sponsored utopia, has gone wrong. Greed and deception flourish amid the rush of federal dollars financing previously unimaginable social and scientific advances. Every resident is monitored by an embedded computer chip tied to satellite enforced borders. The privileged encourage division and competition, distracting attention from festering, far greater evils. Chance Crawford and his associates, new world vigilantes, wander the streets, enforcing the simple civilities that should bind us together. They soon become embroiled in something larger, more vile and ultimately, deadly. An adult adventure inspired by modern politics.

Of course California would make for the perfect utopia. But what is ever truly perfect? Give people everything they desire and they lose simple manners. Instruct those of the incompatibility of those bad manners and become a hero. Become a hero and then all hell breaks loose. I liked the Paladins team. We could use them in my home town, probably yours too. But when they get dragged into big business, greed, grifting, profit skimming and general bad politics, they quickly find themselves over their heads. But when has that ever stopped a true hero? These characters are complex, confused and compelling. I enjoyed every twist and turn!
