This is probably going to get me in trouble, but I wasn't completely happy with where this ended. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I think Aiston got off a little easy for his misdeeds. And the whole past lives thing? I little weird. I loved the whole soul mate side of things, but Aiston's past lives made me shudder a few times...and not in pleasure. However, I did love the ending to everyone else's story, although not embarrassed to admit I'm still a little uncertain about the blip to Michael and Tulupea's future with him being human.
Overall, I would say this is better suited for YAs who may just enjoy the mystical side of the story, even if it is a bit convoluted too.
Why is it over?? Seriously though, Tulupea is amazing and the chemistry between her, Michael and the halflings is so much fun to read. I'm sad this series is over and secretly hope there will be more shorts. The author has done a fantastic job creating a universe that is loveable and where the reader cares about the characters. The levels of character and universe development are beyond extraordinary. Not a series to be missed! I love the mind-boggling concept of full-circle lifecycles.
Definitely a captivating series that ended well. Great series for teen/young adult readers. Characters that are intriguing and easy to like and an interesting story concept.
Lots of surprises and the need to know what happens next, keep the pages turning.
