PARIS, JE T'AIME. Wanda's next magical mystery takes her to the streets of Paris, France! There she teams up with broken-hearted hero LE PEREGRINE, who has lost his ability to fly. In order to make him whole again, the SCARLET WITCH will have to risk life and limb visit ghosts of the past...
I am continuously being disappointed by this series. It's so depressing because Wanda is my favourite and she deserves more. I started off so hopeful, but every issue seems to get worse. It's so disjointed and underwhelming. What even was the art in this issue? Wanda didn't even look like Wanda. The colours were nice, but that's about it. The story was so random too? I appreciate the sentiments behind it, but like??? Honestly, the only reason I'm going to keep reading this is because of my loyalty to Wanda.
The problem is that every issue is starting to feel like a one-shot. It was forgivable with the last one because I liked how that issue was done, but these other characters are all basically toss-aways, and the "broken magic" plot line is basically being ignored.
This is probably my favorite issue so far, the art was so pretty & the storyline of this French hero was so touching. My only problem with these comics is that I still don’t understand is where all of this is leading to, I’ll soon find out I guess…
takes alain racine, puts in the middle, keeps punching him in the face until he disappeared bringing an idiot french in this ruined everything!!
the drawings though were BEAUTIFUL and ladies punching some sense in his brain was GLORIOUS, i just wished we got a winged lady savior of France teaming up with wanda and being gay in Paris.......
FFS I was willing to ignore the derivative way the whole "magic is broken" storyline is plodding along b/c I like Wanda but did we really need a whole issue of her saving another male ego so it can fight again another day, especially in light of what magic is costing her? Sigh.
I'm observing the pattern of changing the art style and Wanda herself (externally) with each issue as the locations change , it's an issue and a tale
The first page is a beautiful panel with pink Parisian vibes and little Wanda landing
"Paris is a city of many ghosts... And all I need is one of them."
"There. Or I suppose I should say... C'est fini."
"Do you know who I am? Of course, everyone knows you. You're la sorciere ecarlate-- the scarlet witch. Hmm. I'm still getting used to being recognised."
So our emo boy of the issue is a French falcon and a writer and he feels guilty for not being there to protect his wife while he was protecting, well, everything else
"Thank you, Wanda. This moment-- seeing my beloved wife has given me more than I'd dared hope. I will always be in your debt. If there's anything I can ever do... Anything-- Hush. Repay me by doing as your wife bade you. Live and fly."
I don't really know what this story adds to the plot as a whole either not much or we'll find out 2.5 stars from me, nice issue just nothing that would keep you at the edge of your seat ( I saw someone say it's a filler issue and yes it is) is not a bad thing btw, I like that it was casual and took a break from the soft horror vibes

Toss away issue. Introed a new random hero from Paris, that was a one shot issue. Really hope that it finds its feet and gets a story going, other than random acts of magic with random never heard of individuals.
Gorgeous art in this issue. I'm not entirely sure why the ghost had to be nude, other than comics really love women's skin, but it was beautiful enough art that I'm okay with it in this instance. I'm very intrigued for more about Le Peregrine.
this is a beautiful entry. I loved the art. the story is heartbreaking, i can relate to Alain's life and I know how it feels . this metaphore of the wings is also brilliant!
