A note from the author:
Thanks for visiting my Goodreads page.
I wanted to tell something meaningful about myself, but let's start with the important stuff--I love swoon-worthy heroes. The kind of heroes that are strong and would take a bullet for you, but also want to open your door and listen to you pour out your heart.
What else? I grew up moving. If you’ve read my books, you won’t be surprised by this. I have a lot of moving themes through my books centered around characters experiencing pain from someone moving.
It was hard. But, I believe there’s always a seed of good that comes out of everything hard, so I think the best thing that came from it was that I learned to love books.
And I had to learn a lot of mad skills on friend making. It gave me a love of people…good people, compassionate people. Interesting people of all kinds.
What else about me? I am a mother and wife! I have four amazing boys that are like little ninjas running around. I love them so much and I’m so grateful for my amazing husband who doesn’t get intimidated by all the billionaire men in my life.
I have a fierce love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Him and for the healing and forgiveness I’ve gotten to experience in my life. This is a theme in many of my books.
I love being an American. I am so proud of the men and women that support and preserve our freedom. This is another theme you will find in my books.
I am so grateful for my fans and for the support and love you all show me! Don’t stop reading!
When I read about Hunter in The Undercover Groom I was excited to go back and read his story. I enjoyed Hunter and his relationship with Summer. I loved that she wasn't intimidated by his wealth or position. Hunter and Summer have some fun banter at the beginning and I liked the realistic progression of their relationship. It was a fun read.

I love to escape into Taylor Hart's stories. This one is no exception. Another great addition to the series. Nothing unexpected here. A sweet romance with likable characters.
Content: Clean (Passionate kissing, mild innuendo, implied past of sleeping around) Source: Kindle Unlimited
This was a great clean romance offering. The protagonists came across as real people living in a real world. However, the basic format of a number of billionaires all living in Jackson Hole is a bit over the top and departs from reality. I know this is fantasy and being a billionaire is more impressive than a mere millionaire, but this premise is so unrealistic that it is a negative for me. Summer is a great heroine with many positive traits. Her tenacity, independence, self-confidence, devotion to her son, and loving respect for her deceased husband are big plusses for me. I also liked the way she was willing to rethink her initial impression of Hunter. As she got to know him better her change of opinion was realistic, refreshing, and admirable. Her reaction to seeing a photo of Hunter kissing another woman was realistic, but the fact that she could be understanding and move on spoke well of her character. Hunter was interesting as well. It was a pleasure to see his evolution from playboy to loving family man. However, Hunter was a complete turn off twice – once when he fired Summer and again when he summarily rejected her after witnessing Summer and Luke kissing. Granted, these situations were designed to insert a little interesting conflict in the story, but Hunter came off with negative points in both cases. This was great romance writing with dialogue that flowed just like real people. For the most part the scenes could have been extracted from a trip down memory lane. On balance, this was a very good read that held me captive from beginning to end. It rates four stars from me.
I love reading Taylor Hart's books. They fit in my happy escape place. I read this one in between scheduled reviews because I just needed a break! ha. This one was fun and I really like the chemistry and banter between the main characters. I also liked that there wasn't a lot of issues or obstacles to keep the two apart. It was pursuit and flirtation that evolved just as it should with a few misunderstandings. :)
4.5 Stars! A very enjoyable, fun and quick read! The characters and their interactions were well written. The storyline had me flying through the pages. All in all, a fun, clean and entertaining read!
* Note, I would consider this longer than your average novella and shorter than a full length novel.
I loved it! I loved the strong woman who doesn't back down and keeps going. I love that they are both vulnerable and she shows their vulnerability in such a way you just can't help but love them. Great read!
Loved it from beginning to end! Loved the " unfinished" reference to living life and people in general. The realistic demons of uncertainty and trust in new relationships and getting over loss.
More like a 3.5. I just couldn't get into this one as much as the other books. It was a cute story but I felt like it could have been better. Let's see how the next book goes
The Unfinished Groom: Bachelor Billionaire Romance (A Last Play Companion): was written by Taylor Hart. This book is fantastic. It really hits home with losing a partner and a sister and recovering. Nature can cure almost anything and painting nature helps too. Hunter James grew up poor but after his military career, he found himself in the oil business where he struck it rich. After winning a horse ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in a poker game, he thought that his future was finally here. He felt good about his life. He decided to ride over to the one acre he didn’t own at the edge of his property. He had tried to purchase it before; but thought a personal visit might help. Little did he know that his future was about to change. Summer Kingston had returned home to the property her Grandmother had left in trust for her. It was the only thing she had left except for her son Cade. She had grown up on the horse ranch Hunter now owned but after leaving home, marrying Derek, and having Cade, her Father gave her an ultimatum. Either come home or lose everything. She chose to lose everything. Now she had her home and hoped to find a job. She also had some savings from her marriage. Now she had to face her ex-love and her new neighbor. Luke Stonewall was the son of the foreman of the Kingston Ranch and now the James Ranch. Luke and Summer had grown up together and loved each other off and on since middle school. However, when Summer decided to leave the ranch and asked Luke to go with her, Luke chose to stay with Summer’s Father. After Summer gave up her ties to the ranch, Mr. Kingston gave the ranch and everything else to him. He then lost the ranch in a poker game. Now he was back visiting Summer and trying to get her to come back to him. Having two men vie for her attention was something new to Summer and something she wasn’t comfortable with. Then she meets Sterling Pennington, movie star and owner of an art gallery in Jackson Hole. Now she has the attention of three men. It is fun to watch the dynamics work out between the four of them. Cade and Summer’s friend Chloe add some much needed lightness to the story.
Hunter James is a lucky man. He won a huge ranch in Jackson Hole Wyoming while playing poker. He moved there from Texas and loves the land and his new found friends and fellow billionaires who formed the Junto group, a charitable organization. Summer Kingston grew up in Jackson Hole but moved away from her controlling abusive father after her mother committed suicide and her father covered it all up. Summer moved to CA where she fell in love and married but when her young husband died of a heart attack, she returns with her young son to an acre of land and a run down house her grandmother left her. It is on the piece of land adjacent to Hunter's and he wants that land. This story is a sweet clean romance.
Aren’t we all unfinished? Are we ever truly finished? Hunter had achieved his goals and more. He was successful, rich, had good friends, and a great home. What more could anyone want. That is until he saw Summer. She had returned to her hometown and a house left to her by her grandmother, after she had lost her husband. It was the only thing she had besides her son. Hunter wasn’t interested in her or her son, only the land her home sat on. Until he began to see more. She had no use for a man let alone a wealthy playboy. But what if that playboy was so much more for both her and her son. They both have baggage and history that can keep them apart. Can they figure it out in time?
This was another cute and quick read, the second book in the Groom series. This book was romantic and fun. I love these sweet romantic stories, this one had a perfect setting and you could really feel for the main characters. Hunter wins a card game and inherits a house. Summer's husband dies and the only place she has left to go, is to her grandmothers house that sits next to Hunter's house, which also happens to be her late fathers house!! Hunter and Summer don't get off to the best start, and when Summer sells her first painting to a gallery her own stipulation to the owner is that he does not sell it to Hunter. This story is so fun, clean, romantic read.
I had a Free Copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Hunter James, bachelor and former military man, made money in oil and then won a ranch in Wyoming in a poker game. Summer Kingston returns to Wyoming with her young son after her husband died, to live on her inherited land. Hunter would like to purchase her land, but she refuses. The plot of this book features misunderstandings, trust and moving forward in loving another person. A great addition to this series.
Hunter and Summer come from opposite ends of the spectrum, he's filthy rich and she's dirt poor. To look at them, they have nothing in common, but they can't stay away from each other. They clash often, mostly because he has an ego the size of Texas and isn't used to anyone saying no to him. Fun and games ahead for these two.
Another really good read by Taylor Hart. I love a good strong cowboy who wants to be there for a women and her son. But will also let her be herself and not be all macho he-man.
The storyline was both romantic and had depth. This book was very good. It connects to other books in the series but is a stand alone read.
Hunter wants to purchase the land that was put in a land trust. So when the owner moves it he goes to see her. Summer has moved back home to raise her son after her husband died. Can these two learn to get along? Well written story with strong and believable characters. Couldn't put it down.
I loved this book until he didn't trust her. Of course it was a quick romance and all. I loved his friends and their teasing. FYI there are not that many billionaires in this world and most of them are taken.
This was a cute story. I didn’t really like Hunter. He struck me a ms a jerk and the improvement in his character seemed minimal at best. I would have liked to see more growth. However it was a sweet story. A nice read for an afternoon.
Ten years ago, Summer leaves home after finding out her dad had a mistress. She asked her boyfriend, Luke, to go with her but he refused to stay home with her father. She meets and marries Derek, a high school teacher, and lives with him in California. They have a son, Cade, but tragedies happen and Derek passes away from a heart attack. She has a run down house on an acre of land back home in Jackson Hole that her grandmother left her, which is where she decides to take Cade to raise him. (Her father left everything to Luke) When she gets home, Luke comes to her expecting to start back where they left off, but Summer doesn't want anything to do with him. The first time she meets Hinter, he's there to ask to buy her home. She declines, but he's intrigued by her when she asks for a job. She scares him to death by getting bucked off a horse she's training and he fires her immediately. She finds old art supplies and decides to try and sell some of her paintings. The first one she completes, Hunter sees and tries to buy it from her. She makes a deal with Sterling to sell her work in his gallery with the concession that he'll not sell any to Hunter. Luke plays a wild card trying to get the land he lost to Hunter in a poker game back, along with Summers home. Hunter takes care of it and tells Summer that he will take care of the lawyer fees in exchange for a date. He takes both her and Cade out no he realizes that's what he's been missing his whole life. With a few issues and a couple misunderstandings, they both admit their in love with the other and get their happily ever after.
I'll say it again: Taylor Hart can develop characters and back stories in the short story form. It never ceases to amaze me what she can accomplish in the few pages of her short stories. I really liked Summer, the h. She was a smart and strong worker, a loving mother, and a cautious but passionate woman. She made mistakes and tried to make amends and I admire her for that.
I didn't like the H all that much, to be honest. Yes, he was endearing in all the home improvement efforts and becoming friends with the h's son. But, his past and how flippant he was about it doesn't bode well for the MCs' future together. There was a big disconnect in that respect. And I didn't understand how he all of a sudden couldn't live without the h. It was so out of character for him and didn't make sense. Overall, a nice, clean romance. All that it was missing was a little more relationship development.
What I liked: 1) The dual povs. 2) The h. She was strong in her convictions. 3) How clean the book was.
What I didn't like: 1) Lack of relationship development. 2) The plot was a little boring.
Hunter James (love his name!) is sexy, confident, and a little cocky and arrogant. He is a playboy, is ex-military and extremely rich, and has a very annoying habit of calling Summer "Woman" all the time. Summer is independent, strong, smart, and a great mom to Cade. She likes to paint, kickbox, and train horses. This book was a fun, light read. A clean romance with lots of steamy kisses! I also appreciated the side story of Summer's friend Chloe and her son who is on the Autism Spectrum. This is something that is close to my heart and I was pleased to read about the characters and the non-profit organizations they were working on in such a positive light. At the end of this book you will see that an organization really does exist to help kids on the Spectrum and a part of the proceeds from the sale of this book goes towards it. Nicely done.
This was another sweet, clean romance by Taylor Hart. The earlier books in the series were my favorites, but I still enjoy revisiting this town and residents. I liked Summer and Cade, her friends and Sterling. (I hope to read more on him in a future book). I liked Hunter, but not a lot. He was a player (meaning he slept around a lot), enjoyed doing so and had no plans to stop until he got to know Summer. That did not endear him to me. Of course he came around to be a good guy. Overall, is a light, enjoyable read. I recommend every book in this series.
