Glenn Hall was tending goal for the Red Wings when I was born in 1955 and then for the Black Hawks when I was a mere youth. I really got to know of his exploits when he was in St. Louis and I was old enough to follow the NHL This book is well-written, keeping a good reading pace throughout. I find it incredible that he played all 70 games for seven years in a row (plus playoffs and probably what they used to call "exhibition" games) I was unaware that the trade to Chicago was in retaliation for his player association activities; Ted Lindsay was more famous for that. All in all, a good read and blast from the past.

For those who don’t know, Tom Adrahtas received a lifetime ban from USA Hockey in 2020 due to numerous substantiated accusations of sexual misconduct towards his players dating back to the 1980s. Don’t read this damn book, and definitely don’t pay for it. Glenn Hall was wonderful (RIP) and deserves better than this for a biography.

Great book about a tremendous athlete. Tom did a a terrific job of writing about statistics and actual game play which can be very dry in written form. He is particularly qualified to write about Glenn due to his own background in hockey.

Well written account of one of the greatest goalies to play the game. Highly recommended
