To Capture an Ancient by M.A. Abraham is a novella that is part of her wonderful Elven Chronicles series. Earane and Felcor are our heroes in this book, but the story revolves around the upcoming war that threatens the lives of the Elven Kingdom, as we know it.
To Capture an Ancient begins at the time where things were left off in the last book, with Gabriel and all the Elves trying to make plans to put their people in safe places, and be prepared for this war, where the reports are saying they will be seriously outnumbered by the demons. Disaster and destruction is on the horizon.
Earane, who is King Leissen and Aredhel daughter, is our heroine. She is a dark elf, and a leader of the Elite Guards . Earane is a very confidant and strong young lady, who doesn’t fear fighting and killing demons. When she comes upon another Elf fighting off a demon attack, Earane will come to help. When the battle has been won, she will face the man who is her lifemate. Felcor, an ancient elf, also recognizes that he has finally found his lifemate in Earane. In between fighting off some demons, the two will make their bond and lifemate claiming. They are once again attacked by Demons, and just when the situation becomes dire, Gabrielle and Eol will come to their rescue.
Gabriel is not a happy camper, and dresses down both Earane and Felcor for being careless, and not quickly getting the information they found to him and the others. Everyone realizes that Gabriel is under terrible stress, and not sleeping. It will take Eden to force him to take a break and rest.
We watch as all the Elves try to find a way to protect their loves ones, and prepare to lose some of their lands to ward off the major demon attack. To Capture an Ancient is a short story that will lead us to the next full novel, Kings of the Empire, and the demon war. I cannot wait for this book, and will worry until then what will happen to our Elves.

She is following a new trail and hears fighting. It's a lone Elf fighting off Demons and she decides to join the fight. After dispatching all the Demons, she gets a quick look at his eyes and she realizes this is her Life Mate. She thinks he hasn't realized yet that they are Mates and is going to have some fun with him.
Felcor, is an ancient from the Lost City and very powerful. He's thankful for Earane's help and when he hears her name he knows who she is and also knows that she is his Life Mate. Felcor knows the Dark Elves are different in their ways and he waits to see what she has planned for him and will show her he intends to have his way! Who is going to win this contest of wills??
The Demon war is heating up and ominous times are ahead. This story is setting us up for the final chapter in this series. Loved this story and the two strong characters-Earane & Felcor. I highly recommend it and the whole series.

Loved this novella. It is set in the same time frame as Into the Demons Lair. Earane takes after her mother Aredhel, who was one of Gabriel Eagle Claws Elite Warriors and her father King Liessen of the Dark Elven Kingdom who is also an Elven Wizard. Earene is now head of her fathers Elite Guard and is also an Elven Wizard. Felcor is an ancient who is very powerful in many things. They meet when Felcor is engaged in a battle with demons who out number him by a lot and Earane helps. She realizes he is her lifemate and decides to play a trick on him not knowing he also is aware of their connection. These two bond , and it is a steanmy bonding and are almost captured in a another demon battle till Felcor opens a gate and Gabriel and Eol come to help them. Needless to say it is an exciting book and we learn some things about Gabriel we didn't know before. A great read . Highly Recommend.

Earáne is King Liessen of the Dark Elven daughter and the Leader of his Elite Guards. Earáne and her siblings have been trained by Gabriel himself with "finetuning" their sword skills that they learned from Liessen.
While looking into a new trail she hears a battle going on and goes to help dispatch the Demons. She then meets Felcor, a better known friend of King Lothrariel's, and a High Elf from the Lost City known as The Spokesmen. They recognize each other as being Lifemates. Earáne decides to play a game of cat and mouse with him but he is going to have his way.
as This series comes to a end im getting more sad and excited to see how everything will resolve itself.
