This book took me a little time to get into. (I was reading it post-surgery, so I don't know if that was part of the problem or not.)
The book started off strangely to me, but then I started to enjoy the story. I will even pick up the sequel from the library.

Encouraging book! Makes you consider your contentedness and if you've really said yes to God in obedience. I'm just glad to find Christian fiction that isn't romance :) Can't wait to read the next one in the series!

Nancy Moser is in my top 3 when it comes to Contemporary Christian writing, but this story just did not dazzle me like the rest of her library. This just felt cheesy and contrived.

Thought-provoking
This is one of the most unusual books I have read. It has some corny, funny moments, but more thought-provoking ones, and even some heart-wrenching ones. I grew fond of the somewhat problematic, quirky characters, and I learned a lot about what it means to trust God.

Claire Adams is rich and successful. But is she willing to follow Jesus no matter what the cost? Searching for her purpose, Claire gives up everything and winds up in Steadfast, Kansas, where she hides in an attic library and meets a runaway teenager. She's ready for God to use her to do big things, but He has other plans for her -- better plans. Can the entire town throw..

I surrender all….in word and deed
Loved the story that encompasses the challenges of surrender and yet the overwhelming blessings of following thru on living out God’s will as best as one can in light of our shortcomings. Loved this story and looking forward to the next book.

The above scripture embodies the premise of the book. What would it look like to surrender wholeheartedly and follow Christ? Would it actually mean giving up your home, possessions, money, talents and fame? This is exactly how Claire Adams, a renowned artist, interpreted this verse. Set in the small idyllic town of Steadfast, Kansas, whose mere name drew outsiders in who where seeking the perfect place to start over or run from their past. The book was filled with zany characters, including a library ghost, with various backgrounds and heartaches. The heart of the novel involved the nudges the Holy Spirit impressed upon the hearts of the protagonists, and how they responded, found healing and discovered a sense of belonging.
There were times I wanted to snatch the pen from the authors's hands and rewrite portions. Either the theology bothered me or the person's thinking troubled me. For this reason, I decided to order the other two books in the series. But, as always, those are the sections that provide opportunities for discussion among friends.

This is my third book by Nancy Moser. She really knows how to create characters who reside in your heart. Although this story was a bit slow getting off the ground (hence 4-stars, compared to my usual 5-stars for her work), I found it a compelling read. I loved the small town setting of Steadfast and the characters who populate it. As "transplants" from elsewhere, Claire and Sim were both characters who needed to find their way and embrace God's direction for their lives. It was good to see Merry Cavanaugh again (from book 1), but I like how each of the books in this series are mostly complete to themselves. You could probably read them out of order and be okay, but I recommend reading all three in order. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't mention how very much I loved the character of Harold in this book. He really stole my heart!

Another case of 'the-right-book-at-the-right-time'!
I loved the storyline and how the main characters came together. I was challenged by the in-your-face message that God may ask you to move out of your comfort zone - and I loved the scripture references at the start of each chapter. I also loved that each of the main characters was presented with very real flaws.
There were a few cliche moments, and the pace dragged a couple of times.
But overall enjoyed it!

This book is the second in a series of Christian fiction. The stories interconnect, but can be read in any order. This story is all about learning to let go of everything in order to allow God to direct your life. It is a solid book that is so much more than the application of Christianity in daily life. The book initially has some slow parts, but picked up speed as the story was laid out.

Loved it!
How often does God speak and we don't understand what to do or what He's trying to change in our life. This book challenged me to think all the ways I hear Him speaking into my life. Will I listen, will I say ,yes? There are no coincidences, but a person listening to One.

Steadfast Surrender
This is the second book in the series. This book not for a person who Objects to Scriptures. I love scripture and this book is rich in a Biblical world view. I got involved easily with the characters. I found it an interesting read. I would recommend that you read the books in this series in order but I think at least the first two can stand alone.

All He wants is yes
This book is loaded! Wow!!! I've never seen someone take literally what Jesus told the rich man to do. It changed her life forever! Sometimes we can assume we know what that means for us, but sometimes God's plan is different than we think. Very well done!!!

Faith-based storyline
Claire was a famous artist & her work supported her comfortable & lavish lifestyle. Then why did she suddenly feel that God was asking her to giveup all of it? For what-she wasn't sure. Thus begins a rollercoaster of emotions & decisions as she tries to determine what God wants her to do with her life. Interesting read.

Wealthy Successful woman gives up fame and fortune to follow God.
The rich and famous women leaves everything behind to follow God and ends up in a small town where she connects with a runaway girl and a grieving widow and their lives are changed. I'm left wondering if it was all necessary. The first in this series The Seat Beside Me was five star so good.

Another great book
I have forgotten how quickly Nancy Moser gets her readers into the story. This was another delightful story about how God uses people in other people‘s lives. It’s a story about welling to sacrifice and surrender.
