"I wonder how much of our thinking that leads us to negative, discouraging, resentful paths because we take the job of overcoming them upon our own shoulders. He has overcome. It is present tense."
A completely refreshing perspective on a transformed mind through Jesus Christ. Allowing the Lord to begin this process within us will lead to victory within us and will be evident in the fruit of our lives. Although this is a short book it was jammed packed with biblical life changing truths. It was amazing to meet Tracy and witness the fruit of her life in person. I am so glad I read this book and I look forward to completing this series. I highly recommend!

The Transformed Mind – Changing Your Thoughts to Change Your Life by Tracy Wainwright is, as the author says, a small, yet extremely powerful book that was wholly enlightening.
We’ve all read the scripture “be transformed by the renewing of your mind”… oh how I wish that it was all that easy. Those old scripts that play in our minds wreak havoc with how we see ourselves. The author points out that our thoughts are not only important, they have the capacity to change our lives. It must be stressed that Ms. Wainwright is in no way promoting the concept of visualization / realization – “the power of positive thinking”.
While yes, positive thinking may have some beneficial results, it does not impact your eternity, nor does it lead us to obedience. However, as the author states, “if we are intentional about what we think, what we fill our minds with, where we let our thoughts go, and we intentionally fill them with things of God, we will naturally live a life that goes far beyond what we experience here on earth and will impact not only our eternity, but others as well”.
In this book you will learn about if our thoughts are really that important, who’s in control of our thought, how do I change the way I think, what’s the best way to think, and ending with examples of “best” thinking practices. This might be a little book that doesn’t take very long to read, but I would highly suggest that you don’t just give this a once read and relegate it to the shelf. In my opinion, this book should be read and read once more. There is a tremendous amount of scripturally backed enlightening information. I highly recommend this book for you to study.

This might be a little book (60 pages) but it is the best I've read on transforming your mind. Wainwright has done an excellent job of showing the importance of our thoughts and how our mind, body and spirit are linked.
She lays the biblical foundation for her encouragement for us to be intentional with our thoughts. They matter. They have the capacity to change our lives.
She explores the major influences on our thoughts, how to evaluate our thoughts, and the reality of being able to battle thoughts. She then provides an excellent strategy for us to control our thoughts.
There are a couple of points Wainwright makes that really impressed me. One dealt with feelings. Just because we change our thoughts does not mean we do not feel hurt, disappointment, etc. We can choose positive thoughts while still feeling the pain.
The other point is an insight about truth. “It isn't just the truth that sets us free,” Wainwright writes, “it's the truth that we know.” (26) That requires abiding in that truth. That insight clarified much for me.
Another part of the book I really appreciated was her chapter describing right thinking. That's one I'll reread again and again.
I highly recommend this book to any Christian who is ready to work on transforming their mind. Wainwright clarifies that this process is not some magical life-transformation. It's work. She's provided practical suggestions and encouragement to help you on your way. Skip the books that have hundreds of pages and begin with this one. You'll find enough material in it to keep you busy for a long time.
I received a complimentary digital copy of this book from the author for the purpose of an independent and honest review.
I like how Tracy shows in a very readable way how our mind can be our own worst enemy. She shows how our minds are affected by what we allow in our lives. This book gave me much food for thought!
